Pretext and Past-tense ( )

Postby Zetsumi on Fri Sep 26, 2008 9:40 pm

Which is, as those of you worth your proverbial RP salt will know, just another way of saying I'm going to tell everyone who I am and where I've been.

First and foremost, the name's Zetsumi. You may be wondering about the origins of my name. Actually, I'd like someone to find that out on their own. First person to make a post correctly explaining it earns themselves a rep point, or the nearest possible analogy for one on this board.

I live in Australia, or as some of you might call it, 'Down Under'. I can't stand it when Americans who have never even been to my country start going on with their 'G'day Mate's or 'Shrimp on the Barbie's. Most Australians find it annoying. I don't live in a grass hut with a pond full of crocadiles in my back yard. I've seen a kangaroo three times in my life and all were at a zoo. Actually, I live in a share-house with six housemates including two of my best mates, who are close enough to me to be called my brothers. There's no pond in the backyard but there are two shopping trolleys. We had a jousting competition a few weeks back. Seriously, don't ask.

I'm an avid artist, tattooist, and writer. Last week I tattooed 'Dude' on one of my housemate's backs, and 'Sweet' on his best mate's back. Yes, you read correctly. Some of my housemate's arn't the brightest guys you'd ever know, but it's still funny hanging out with them. One got me to do 'Bunghole' across his knuckles.

As far as Roleplaying goes, I've been doing it for over six years. Mostly freeform roleplay, defined by the creator in the opening post. I've never tried D&D or DM or anything like that, but it's something my brother and I have been looking to get into, we just can't find anywhere to buy or download a rulebook from. If you want any help or advice with freeform roleplay, I'll be happy to help so long as I can see you're putting in an effort to better yourself.

One thing I cannot stand is people who are too lazy to use their own primary language. For example, typing 'U' instead of 'You'. It's two extra letters. Half a second's worth of effort. There is no excuse in my eyes for that kind of laziness. If you're not so good at English, but you want to improve, I'm also 12 months away from being a qualified teacher, so I'm prepared to take copys of your posts, highlight things you need to work on, then message them back to you. As above, so long as I can see you're making an effort, your skill dosn't matter when it comes to joining my RP's.

At the moment, I'm particularly obsessed with Metal Gear Solid 4, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and martial arts movies, so expect a few small RP's from me soon. In the near future, I'm going to have a browse and see if there's anything worth joining.

Hello, and welcome to the site! I had a friend from Australia once. I liked to sit and listen to him talk. I also learned that wombats are obnoxious and annoying. It was thrilling.

I salute you, by the way. You have survived in a place where 90% of everything I've ever heard of existing there is poisonous and/or ornery.

I hope you enjoy your time here. And I can't help you with where to get D&D books, so I'm sorry. Wait, I lied. Wizards of the Coast apparently puts them out, so here - http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/welcome Although I feel I must warn you, I've heard version 4.0 is godawful. For previous versions, try ebay.

Other than that, you should also check out Exalted and Sword and Sorcery . Also, while you're there, take a look at the World of Darkness game. I really enjoy it.

Anyway, welcome. And I hope you enjoy your stay.

Try ISO hunt and Bittorrent <<; for the DnD books.

Also, DnD 4e rocks. v.v; Old timeys tend not to like it because they like the complicated mess of DnD and aDnD. Anyways, welcome to the site mate ^^.
Sundown to sunrise worlds spin above our heads, and all we see are the faint flicker of light that provides them life from times long past.

Welcome to the board! I am sorry that you can't "go" anywhere on the web without being smacked with Australian cliches. Of course, going on about it likely doesn't help your case, but it's still frustrating, I'm sure! I'm curious what some of the biggest American cliches are, other than "dur hur, I heart America!" I imagine the rest of the world is pretty fed up with us over here. xD

Since you've been freeforming for a while, you likely don't need any help with your RP. However, every RP website is a little different. I suggest checking out the Manual and Guideline threads in the Main Lobby and Welcome Desk.

Have a blast, and I hope to see you around!
I am available as an RP mentor should you seek to improve.
I draw things that you may like.
I like Ronald Jenkees and you might, too.

I require a certain level of writing skill in my stories. Don't be insulted, I just prefer to RP novel-level material. (I, I, I, me, me, me. I sound like such a jerk.)

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
