Prison Planet #A35: Butcher Bay ( )

Postby Kotori Shinta on Sat Jun 06, 2009 6:29 pm

((Loosely based on prison planet from Riddick))

"You have been brought here for one of three purposes. To live in the unnamed city. You are Necromonger/Bounty Hunter dropping off your latest bounty at Butcher Bay. You are a prisoner, the lowest of life forms, condemned to life imprisonment in eternal darkness; surrounding you are mass murderers, the mentally corrupt, the physically disfigured, rapists, masochists, and more. You are not in Hell, those who are lucky have been sent there. You are at Butcher Bay. Fight to survive, and maybe, just maybe you'll escape from this planet."

Welcome to Butcher Bay
Located 5 thousand miles from any inhabitable planet, you have arrived at Prison Planet #A35. Three times the size of Earth, now a desolate wasteland, and once called Helion Prime. An uneven rocky terrain covers the entire planet completely drenched due to constant rain and thunderstorms. The entrance to the prison is located on the surface of the planet but the prison itself is located miles underground. A single city is located on the other side of the planet, completely cut off from the rest of the universe. Once in 10 years a single cargo ship comes in with custom-ordered supplies. Communication outside the planet is a luxury.
Image

Prison Itself
On the surface of the planet, from miles around of rocky terrain, a single cement two-story building stands with a single 5 inch metal bolted door facing East. Upon entering the building is one giant room, a hanger or sorts with no windows but flickering neon lights. A large rectangular hold in the ground draws attention to a cart awaiting. Stationed on a single metal railway heading into a cramped tunnel. The cart travels on the single rail for thirty minutes, lights line the rocky ceiling in intervals of 10 feet from eachother.

Once the cart stops you see a small platform with a second metal door. Past the door is a large brightly lighted circular room. Lining the walls are monitors, speakers, mikes, and switches of all sorts. A large gaping hole is present int he middle of the room. A heavy-duty chain attached to a pulley on the ceiling connects to a machine. At the end of the chain, is a large metal cage meant to fit and hold a heavy-weight prisoner. The hold leads down to an abyss. Five stories below the suspended circular room is the first ring of prison cells circling the the walls of a well-like tunnel. Rings of prison cells continue on for another ten stories, ending on a rocky floor. Drains jut from the rocky walls, water drips dampening every surface. Chains hang from rails. Flickering lights illuminate broken cell doors and rusting metal rails and stairs connecting each floor of cells to the other. On the seventh floor of cells coming down are two heavily locked metal doors. Each leading to a single hallway which splits to lead to a small cafeteria and a washroom. Black and white tiles line both rooms with rusted appliances. Cameras attacked to every corner capture every angle of every room.

Medical treatment is not a hospitality given by the prison owners. Crooked docs and quacks will fix you up at a price. For any valuables you managed to sneak in or for some sort of service. Fights to the death are not unusual, a form of entertainment created in between the inmates.

Prisoners are not assigned a cell, you must find one and claim it as your own. You may be challenged, or you may challenge, by another for their cell. Cells fit one and 20 of them line each ring/floor of cells. Some cells have broken cell doors.

Curfew
Clocks of any sort are absent, sunlight is myth in Butcher Bay. Day and night are indistinguishable.
Cycle:
-2 hours to eat or bath.
-Prisoners have 10 hours of recreation in the main prison.
-2 hours to eat or bath.
-10 hours of lockdown.

Both doors leading away from cells are automatic but guards line the walls of the cafeteria. All computer programmed, the guns they hold are as well computer programmed to kill with a single bullet, once detached from the body as a whole it shuts down. Lockdown is initiated with a siren. If prisoner has 5 minutes to get into their cells before the hatches lock on all prison cell doors.

5 Hellhounds are released to hunt down and kill any stragglers and left roaming for 9 hours. Before they are lead back into their cages with meat. Hounds are 500 pounds of muscle and leather-hard skin. Teeth sharp enough to bite through metal, claws hard enough to slice through flesh and bone with a single swipe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pain wracked through her body as Sonja laid flat on her back. She felt air rush past her body at a skin-prickling speed. Despite her heightened eyesight, she could not see anything but the occasional flash of light. Her hands were painfully tied behind her with a metal chord. She felt the urge to shiver, her jacket and hat had been taken away, as well as any sort of weapon she had with her at the time she had been captured.

Her latest victim was a masochist that killed women and children on request but not before torturing them. She had not expected him to fight back with suck riggor, she had been wounded enough for a Necromonger to catch her.

She was passing in and out from dreamland due to the collar that the Necromonger had placed on her. The electrical pulses given out by the collar confused her body almost as she was drugged heavily. A moan escaped her lips as she was lifted, the faint sound of a door creaking open caused her ears to twitch slightly. Murmuring surrounded her, they were talking about her. Rough calloused hands felt all around her body and face to make sure she wasn't a fake. It felt like years before she was released from her constraints and placed on a cold metal floor. Once she felt the collar deactivating she jumped at the nearest figure but ran into metal poles. Confused she looked all around, she was in a cage half sunken into the ground.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rain poured down over the dark city as cold breeze blew through the alleys and streets. A dark lean figure leaped over a tall brick wall and landed silently in the puddle. Soaked to the bone Jake ran down the alleyway with a leather bad gripped tightly in his hand. He heard footsteps clattering after him, he did not look back for there wasn't a point in doing so if one didn't have any eyes. He navigated through the maze-like city, using his mental map as a guide.

Jake took a right and stopped a foot away from a brick wall, he had run into a dead end.

"You're at a dead end kid," Click, "you're under arrest, now give me the bag and get on the floor!" A voice roared from behind him.

Jake turned around and gave a toothy grin, "No, I do believe you are at a dead end." Before the police officer could reply, lightening flash momentarily blinding the man. After a split second, the police officer was left in the dark, the kid was gone. A crash had him look up.

Jake cursed as the metal plates covering the ceiling of a home gave him away. Quickly he flashed a grin at the officer before dashing across the flat roof.

April let out a laugh as she watched the room slowly filling up with Necromongers and Bounty Hunters. They were entering from all side of the room, windows shatter as some came down from the roof. Within minutes she was fully surrounded. She smiled happily as she stood in the middle, her hands by her side dripping with blood. “Wow, I didn’t know you guys were so quick.” April smirked, “but then again not quick enough to safe your little senator.” She glanced over seeing only the back of the office chair where the old man was sitting peacefully. He was surround by a large pool of blood, a few gagging sounds could be heard from a few people who looked at the man.

Her amused dropped, when her eyes appeared to roll back into her head as she felt a high voltage of electricity flowing through her body. April bite her lip as she felt her legs giving way, and her eyes seemed to rotate around the room before she hit the ground with a loud thud. The pain of the fall seemed to be blocked out by throbbing from the electricity as she jolted on the floor. She could hear a few murmurs, footsteps but her vision became to blurry for her to see what was going on. She was forced onto her stomach; her hands getting pulled to her lower back and getting chained together. The electric flow appeared to have stopped but April could still not seem to make out what was happening. She could feel a small prick coming from her arm and then a feeling of some fluid being injected into her. Her arm started to sting like crazy as her body tried to fight against this drug. Her eyes shot open for just a few seconds. She was laying on her side, now seeing people’s feet in front of her but before her eyes could travel up towards the faces of the people something was pulled over her head. There was darkness and all she could hear was feet shuffling and being half dragged, half carried along the ground.

April’s head started to feel heavy as she was carried along, her eyes seemed to become heavier too until finally she couldn’t hold them open any longer. Her body gave in to the drug and she just kind of flubbed but her body stayed upright as the two guards carried her along, towards the roof of the building.

((sry its so long...))

“Coming in, let’s get two clicks more pressure on the right cannon,” Roman Martyr called through her headset.

“Will do,” Raze, her docking pilot called. Roman pulled up the hologram image of the landing pad. God she loved this run. It was hell for any ship trying to maneuver through the treacherous atmosphere that was filled with floating debris, but it was probably the reason Roman loved it so much. Danger was her lover and adrenaline was her drug of choice.

The ship made a smooth decent onto the black and red stained landing strip. Dust and rubble blew upward as the ship hovered over the ground before slowly dropping the rest of the way.

“I’ll prep our guest,” Roman said with a smile as she removed her headset and left the captain’s chair. She slid into the back of the ship where they kept the supplies. A tall, broad shouldered man wearing a dirty and ripped shirt and cargo pants had a blindfold over his eyes with his hands chained behind his back. He looked to have almost fifty pounds of chains keeping him to the metal post. He was clearly unconscious.

Hector Bruin; a narcissistic thug with a knack for torturing his victims with various sharp objects. Wanted for nineteen murders, eighteen kidnappings, one attempted murder, armed robbery, twelve counts of assault of a government official, drug smuggling in three illegal sectors, and suspicion of leading a prison uprising. Oh yeah…this was a notch for the belt.

Roman opened a silver panel in the wall and removed a pair of metal boots that had a short chain in between them. She knelt and locked them over the prisoner’s feet. A similar device was built for hands. Roman removed the cuffs on his hands and pulled them around to the front. The contraption locked his wrists together inside a metal block that extended up his forearms to his elbows and sealed his hands inside rendering him immovable. A chain connected from the wrist guard to his feet.

“Wake up,” she said slapping Bruin across the face. He didn’t wake at first so she slapped him again. He awoke with a growl and lunged forward. He jerked to a stop barely an inch from her face. “Morning sunshine,” she said lightly slapping his face again. “Be a good boy and don’t make my job any harder,” she instructed as she removed the blindfold and unlocked the chains from the post. “Move!” Roman shoved him forward and he stumbled at first. Clearly the drug she’d used on him was still wearing off.

“You got him?” Raze, a thin blonde haired woman in her late teens asked from the docking ramp.

“Yeah, keep the ship covered. I’ll be back in an hour,” she said and Raze nodded before disappearing back in the ship. “Come on princess, you’re palace is waiting,” Roman chided as she shoved him again. She grabbed him by the arm to whisper in his ear, “I hear they just renovated the pool. Doesn’t that sound nice?”

Bruin growled and elbowed her. She stumbled backward holding her mouth. Bruin turned and hit her across the face with his bound hands. Roman tripped him and grabbed a whip she carried on her belt. She hooked it through the device binding his hands together, pulled it so his elbows were near his ears before wrapping the chord around his neck.

She grunted as she yanked on the whip pulling him along on the ground. Guards from the prison were running toward her by now, but Roman was already dragging him toward the door of the prison as Bruin choked and scrambled to keep up just so he could breathe.

“You alright?” one of the guards asked. Roman spat out a mouthful of blood and glared at the man who looked barely old enough to know how to use a gun.

“Get me to your superior,” she snapped and hauled Bruin to his feet. “I’d kiss you good bye, but wouldn’t you know it, my lip is bleeding,” she said before backhanding him. “Oh look, now yours is too.” She snickered to herself as four guards took the man away.

“I’ll get out one day,” he called. “I swear to God, I’ll kill you myself Roman!” he screamed as he was pulled into the darkness.

“Yeah yeah,” she chuckled. “Like God gives a damn about what you want.” She turned back to the boy-soldier, “now, about my bounty.”

A chill spiraled down her spine as Sonja lost sight of the brightly lit room and entered a dark and damp hole. Her fingers curled around the cold metal bars as she leaned forward to peer down, she saw nothing but a dark abyss. She let out a surprised gasp as the cage tipped over, leaning back she glared up at the metal roof of the cage. The laughter of the bounty hunters echoed down the shaft.

Crossing her legs she observed all around her as she shivered, she was still moving down at an agonizingly slow pace. Small dim flickering lights filled her eyes, blinking she stared back at the hungry crazed eyes of men peering out at her from ramps. They were far but their gazes disgusted her, a jerk of the cage had her looking down. The cage door creaked open, she pondered if the men were stupid enough to leave everything unprotected. Below jagged black rocks gleamed, she looked up and saw that the chain holding the cage was quietly humming, it was electrified. With a snort she jumped out and landed in a crouch, standing up she saw a large man a couple feet in front of her smiling sickeningly with a chain in his hand.

"Here chicky chicky..." He cooed before laughing as she glared back at him refusing to move. Above her the cage began moving back up.

The drugs appeared to be varying off as April felt herself sitting upright, hearing the propellers from what sounded like a helicopter. “We’re going to get paid a lot from this one….haha” a roar of laughter broke out as April’s head slowly popped up, her eyes opening. She couldn’t see much through what looked like a bag they had placed over her head. There were small little holes through it where she was able to see some figures next to her and noticed her hands were now shackled together in front of her, resting nicely on her lab. “Looks like Poison has woken up from her beauty sleep..” there was another roar of laughter. April wasn’t a person who liked to be made fun off and so she swung her chained arms around hitting the guy straight stomach. “Your lucky my hands are chained up,” she hissed at him before getting throw on the metal floor of the helicopter. Her face getting squished down on the cool ground as one of them whispered into her ear, “I would watch your attitude when we arrive at our destination…but for now I think you need to sleep.” She felt a prick of the needle again, she struggled a little but the two figures were too strong and before she knew it, she had blacked out again.

Roman sat in the Warden's office with her feet propped on his desk while she fiddled with an old fashioned pocket watch. It didn't work anymore, but when Roman had found it, she had taken an instant liking to it. The gold still shone like it was brand new, despite the several dents in the sides. She twirled the chain between two fingers. The door slammed open and she quickly stuffed it back into her pocket.

"Roman," the burly man with gray hair said as he stormed over to his desk and took the seat opposite her. "I'm running out of jail cells, thanks to you," he said with a lopsided smile. It would have been straight except the left side of his mouth had a long scar running from cheek to chin that split his top and bottom lip. It was a gruesome sight.

"I say open the doors and let them all kill each other," Roman suggested. "But we'll talk polotics later. I want my bounty."

"Eighty thousand credits, as agreed," he said tossing the bag of chips onto the table. Roman grabbed it and counted them quickly.

"Good, now double it," she said placing the bag back down.

"What?" The Warden asked scowling at her.

"Our deal was, I bring him to the landing dock. Once he's there, he's no longer my problem Well thanks to your bang up team of guards, the prisoner attacked, escaped, and I recaptured him. That means I caught him twice," she said holding up two fingers. "Double the capture, double the bounty."

"And if I dont?"

"If you dont," Roman said leaning forward. "I take him back and set him loose wherever the hell I feel like...perhaps in this very office, or in your home when you're not there to look after your wife and two children. You have two girls, right?"

"You son of..."

"I know," Roman cooed. "Now double it." She was more stern now and both her hands were placed on the desk in a menacing manner.

"This is criminal," the Warden said as he fished out more credits. "I'll be housing you in here one day."

"Find a Hunter who's willing to come get me," Roman stated and grabbed the now significantly heavier bag. "Nice doing business with you Warden." She hooked the bag onto her belt and left the room. She began the long treck down the stairs toward the landing dock so she could get the hell off the planet.

"Captain..." It was Raze. "Fuel Lodge is low, wanna fill it up here?"

"Can we make it bace to Helion Minor?" Roman asked as she moved the mouth piece of the headset down.

"I'll pull the ship into the docking zone," was Raze's reply. Roman cursed. God she hated this place. It was nothing better than a trash heep left over from a Monarch's idea of purification.

When Roman exited the prison, she met Raze on the docking pad and grabbed a bag as they headed toward what small part of the city had been rebuilt.

"First thing I'm doing is buying a drink," Raze said as she stretched her arms over her head. "Then maybe a bath."

"How about we fill the bathtub with alcohol and go from there." Raze and Roman laughed as they entered the city. "Alright, which decaying, rotting, festering building gets the privilage of housing us for the night?"

"You guys have no creativity, do you" Shadow remarked to his bounty hunters they had caught him while he was trying to execute a political assassination.

"It's whatever Shadow we know you will break out eventually but that just means that we get double bounty we will find you again." remarked Markus Orilies he had been the only successful bounty hunter to find shadow in over 7 years the last ones had ended up dead.

Finally they had gone to their stopping point time for them to negotiate the price they are willing to pay. It was a dingy room they had entered, full of people he recognized but forgot their names. he spotted a pen on the table before they would throw him down into the prison proper he would take a little revenge on the lovely bounty hunters that had brought him there. they finally settles on a price he swiftly grabbed a pen and stabbed one of the five bounty hunters. It was difficult stabbing people with your hands behind your back but he was trained. He was about to go for another one when a gun was pressed against his temple. he was then thrown down into the prison proper.

"We don't have to fight ya-kno," The convict egged on but Sonja paid no attention as she looked away from him and surveyed the prison from the ground up. The opening she had come down from was like a star, it was a small dot of light from where she stood.

Sonja quickly stepped to the side and whipped her head to glare. Clang! A heavy-duty chain bounced off the damp rocks where she had once stood. She chose not to spare the human any words angering the man. She tilted her head to the side as her right arm came to catch the chain and with a violent jerk she pulled the startled man forward. With his head facing her stomach she brought her elbow down in a blunt-blow to the head. He fell with a strangled gasp, withering on the ground. She smashed her foot to the side of his head as she passed by, with the chain in her hand she glared as a couple more men stepped forward, eyes hungry with blood. Others hung onto the railing above to watch eagerly, this was the only entertainment they had in this hell hole.

April drifted in and out of consciousness, letting her body hanging in the arms of the two hunters as she was dragged along the ground. She realised she wasn’t in the helicopter anymore, occasionally a flash of light would hit her eyes through the small holes in bag that was over her head. They came to a stop, hearing a new voice addressing the two men; the bag was pulled of her head. She recoiled a little as the light hanging from the ceiling shone down on her face. But before she could even try and figure out were she was someone grabbed the back of her hair holding her face up close towards the light. She struggled trying to turn her head away but the strangers grip was much stronger, “its really her, Poison,” she heard one of the hunters say.

The stranger released her hair and April fell to her knees, “bastard,” she hissed. “What did you just call me?” April’s head popped up, her eyes had adjusted to the light now and she could see the man who had held her head up before. He was wearing a uniform of some sort, like he was guard or an officer. Her eyes glaring at him, “I said bastard,” as the words rolled of her tongue the man hit her across the face before she could say anything else. He had quiet a good reflex which meant he was used to the name calling but she was just playing with him, to get to now her targets better. April just chuckled, as the officer stared at the red mark he had left on her face. “GUARDS TAKE THIS SCUM, so that we can talk in peace about bounty you will be receiving,” a smirk appeared on the officer’s face as two other men in uniform entered grabbing April by the arms. She just smiled as she was dragged off, “Don’t spend the money all in one place fellows.”

The hallway was quite small and dimly lit; she took a glance back watching as at least five hunters leapt on top of another man to hold him down as he had just stab one of them with a pen. As April was dragged along she decided not to put up at fight at this point, more interested in observing and taking note of the structure she was going to be held in. They travelled down what appeared to be an elevator of some sort before coming to a halt. The doors slide open revealing a brightly light circular room, she squinted a little before her eyes fully adjust. In the centre stood a large cage fit for one person, she thought that it would probably lead down to the area she would be kept in. “So I guess this is it boys, hope to see you all soon.” She smirked as they threw her in the cage, quickly taking off her chains before they closed the door behind her. The cage slow descended, April waited patiently in the dark. Once the door opened again, she didn’t immediately step out of the cage. First taking a look around before she took her first step into the muddy floor, her feet sinking a little as she rubbed her wrists where the chains had been. She noticed that a girl was getting a little unwanted attention from a few fellows; she was obliviously new to the place just like her and it looked as though they wanted to see what she was like. April decided to go in the opposite direction in hope of not getting targeted for being new. But to her surprise a small group already stood in front of her. She just kind of smiled and took a step to the right to go around them but they all shuffled along to stand in her way again.

Kronus mumbled under his breath as the warden kicked him into the tunnels of the prison, tied to a rope by his hands and slowly lowered by winch to the ground. His enhance senses were going off like mad, picking up the sights and sounds on the way down. He shook the unconsciousness off and mumbled

"Where the fuck..." The warden laughed and released the latch of the winch, Kronus front flipped and landed on his feet in the tunnels below.

"Welcome to Butcher Bay prick." said the warden before the latch closed and the tiny hole shut. Now he remembered. The contract. The guards.

"This will be entertaining." He said as he watched a woman beat the snot out of several grown convicts. He shook his head and grinned, but a man jumped from behind him. He looked the man down, a well built man, easily towering 2 heads taller, strung with ragged clothes and sinewy muscle. Kronus laughed as the man eyed him up when he walked past.

"What'er you laughin' at punk?" said the man, balling his hands into fists.

Kronus sighed and reached to a nearby cage door, broken and battered, with drawing a broken steel bar, remaining silent.

"I'm talkin' to yer..." the man gasped as Kronus shoved the steel bar into his mouth, and it exploded from the back of his head. He smiled and let the man drop, walking into the broken door room and replacing the bar. He fixed his bed to his liking, tossed out a few items he didnt want and laid down, watching the woman fight to pass the time.

Roman settled down in a stool at the tavern and slammed a credit on the counter. A barkeep quickly ran over to her and filled her glass. She hadn't so much as ordered, so she figured the gold liquid was all they carried. She knocked back the drink, savoring the burn in her throat, before setting down another credit to get her glass refilled.

Raze stood near the door surveying the group of people in the bar before making her way over to Roman and sitting next to her. "This place is a dump," Raze said as she ordered her own drink.

"When have we ever sat in the lap of luxury?" Roman asked with a small smile.

"Never, though I don't know why," she said quietly. "We rake in enough dough to stay in nicer places than this. Based on the stash I have, I can guess how much you have stored away. Why don't you cash it in? Find some nowhere house on a nice planet and build a normal life? You can afford it."

"It's not about the money," Roman said, but laughed at her own statement, "ok it's not all about the money. It's about the hunt."

"Yeah well," Raze said turning around so her back was pressed up against the bar. "As soon as I bank enough credits, I'm headed back to the Croatoan Sector, buying my sister back, and getting us the hell away from here." Roman nodded.

She knew it was Raze's only reason for becoming a bounty hunter. She and her sister were sold to the slave market by their parents when they were just kids. Raze had earned her freedom, but her sister, Amara, well...seemed one of the Royal Dignitaries had taken a liking to her and had her placed in his harem.

"How many more creds' do you need?" Roman asked. Raze chuckled bitterly and shook her head.

"About a million," she stated. Roman sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Hell...here's to freedom," she said raising her glass.

"Yeah, freedom," Roman repeated as they knocked shot glasses and downed their drinks. "And here's to one more," Roman said tossing more money on the counter.

Shadow noticed there were prison scum eying him when he landed in the bottom of the pit he still and his shackles on. There were about 5 people circling him. Already he thought i am going to make a good reputation with these guys. He calmly waited for one of them to strike they were taunting him with jeering words "gonna make you my bitch" said one of them. "I saw him first he is mine" said another.

Finally one came at him with a metal chain shadow jumped up kicked this man in the face, in result the man went plying towards the other men knocking two of them to the ground. The other two rushed him Shadow stuck out his leg and broke one of their knee caps and followed through with a kick to the other ones jaw. He wondered if they would ever learn their attacks were futile. He ran to the nearest one as he saw that the two he knocked down were getting up. To the one that was on the ground from his kick to the jaw he stomped the back of his neck severing the spinal chord where it meets with the back of the skull. one of them had a blade, as he was swinging shadow put the middle of the cuffs in front of the blow making sure that after the swing it would not harm him. As the blade hit the chain there was a horrible sound of metal shearing through metal, his cuffs came loose. Immediately Shadow grabbed the hand where the other man held his blade and twisted , he fractured his wrist.he grabbed the blade realizing that it was the size of a short sword and it was crafted from a peace of scrap metal. In one fluid motion he decapitated the man that this blade belonged to and gutted the other man that was rushing him.

Shadow was bored with the fight and decided not to kill the other two they made it to easy. Shadow went deeper into the prison before he did that he stashed the blade in the waist band of his pants. He was ready for anything.

Kronus watched from his cell as yet another prisoner was lowered into the cages. The slim man was attacked immediately by five other convicts. Kronus smiled as the man killed 3 and knocked the other two out. He decided to investigate.

He opened the cell door, grabbing his metal "spear" from its place in the cell bars and slung it over his shoulder witha make shift strap of clothing from his bed sheet and scampered up the wall. His enhanced agility made it easy to stalk the man, and he crawled silently along the shadow of the floor above before flipping onto the walkway and silently slipping behind the throng of convicts at the railing watching the many fights. He dropped into the lower level after the man, and landing with a very soft dull thud on the ground 20ft behind him.

Sonja turned as she heard a commotion behind her, a mistake she had to pay for. She reared back as a punch landed on the side of her face. Like a whiplash she blindly punched back and was awarded with a crack as her knuckles buried themselves into the side of the attacker's face. When he remained standing she kicked his knee in earning a scream, once he was on the ground she used the back of her hand to smack his face again sending him to the ground. Pain flashed through her shoulder as she narrowly dodged a slug to the head with a rock, instead it hit her shoulder. Picking up the rock she threw it with inhuman speed, it hit the convict's eye. She turned to glare at the men before running straight at them. They flinched back but held onto whatever weapon they possessed, just as she was a foot from the first man she jumped and caught onto a dangling chain which connected to the first set of metal railings. She climbed up quickly and flipped up onto the rail, she stood glaring at the cowards who had watched and jeered. Turning she crouched down to watch the fight below.

"Welcome to Butcher Bay," a nasally voice said with a hint of sneer from behind her. Grabbing onto the railing below her feet she leaned forward slightly and kicked out behind her with her right foot sending the lanky man behind her sprawling onto the floor.

'Butcher Bay...' she thought faintly as she waited for the men to clamber up the stairs to reach her, she heard grunts and shouts as they pushed through the bystanders.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A siren filled the air, echoing through the damp dark streets of the town. It was time for the selection. The prison ruled the planet, it was the law, the government, the king of the planet. Every 10 years they chose the next "trainee" and all those who were opposed were sent to be prisoners for fighting the law enforcers. Each citizen at birth was planted with a chip at the back of their necks, they had heard everyone in the universe had one, it was their identification chip. Picture ID's were no longer acceptable, they had been ruled out. As much as Jake hated the law, he did not want to be sent to the jail for not going to the stupid gathering.

He slipped into the crowd, looking around occasionally to see if there was someone he recognized and had to avoid. He looked up at the broken, but still functioning glass screen. A man who strangely resembled one of earth's history's famous villain showed up, what was his name....ah Hiller? Oh well, Jake remembered the face, a strange looking man with a small square mustache and cold sharp eyes.

"Good Morning dear citizens of Butcher Bay," the man said with a sickening smile, Jake wish he had just glared at them instead. And how were they supposed to know if it was morning? Whatever.

"As you know, we are in serious lack of workers due to a riot a few days back, so we will be recruiting five of you. Now, is anyone patriotic enough to step up? Anyone?" the warden egged on, he knew no one ever volunteered, yet he still played games, "So be it." The screen blanked and a man standing before a memorial statue of the warden, even though it wasn't really a memorial, the sick f*cker was still alive, began screaming out a combination of numbers. Each citizen was given a chip and a number, never a name. Names were luxuries that each person gave each other.

"24458!" The man shouted, and he was replied with a scream and a cry from a woman. A grave coal miner was trying to console his wife, he had been chosen and he had to leave his wife and children forever. Jake watched with out sympathy, neither did the others as two guards ripped the family apart, this always happened. Within a few moments with tears streaming down multiple faces, though no one could really tell due the rain that had begun falling, the last number was called.

"Number ID 87765!"

Jake stood in shock, it was his number. He did not move, no one moved, no one ever gave out their numbers to each other so they did not know who had been called. Murmurs filled the air as people looked at each other anxiously, if no one stepped out the guards usually began checking everyone with a scanner. Jake took a step forward, catching the eyes of the people next to him, they immediately parted which started a wave of people moving out of the way, they acted as if he had a life-threatening disease. If he had no been chosen, he would have laughed but he was in shock and fear as he walked forward like a zombie, he could no longer hear the people, he could no longer feel the cold rain like ice daggers on his skin, he could only think of his fate. He had not liked the hell hole he had lived in before, but it was home and he felt a lost as he was roughly grabbed by the shoulder and shoved into the back of a truck to be transported. And so began the 15 hour drive to the prison.

Roman looked up as she heard a siren wailing through the streets, "don't tell me the planet's going to hell. Just our luck," she said nudging Raze.

"Nah, prison needs new guards," the barkeep said as he cleaned a glass. The tavern quickly emptied as everyone ran, either for the gathering, or for hiding.

"Aren't you goin?" Raze asked the man.

"Nah," he said and turned around. He lifted his ponytail exposing a long scar on the back of his neck, "got my chip removed, just don't tell no body," he said winking. Raze chuckled and took another swig of her drink. "Don't matter who they pick though," the bartender said.

"Yeah, why's that?" Raze asked. Roman even arched an eyebrow.

"Rumor has it, some inmates are planning an uprising tonight. Word spread that they were short of guards. They're ganna take the prison back from the Warden." Roman snorted.

"That could be a good career move for me," Roman stated. "Hell, somebody's got to bring all of them back, right?"

"Ah, you're assuming the inmates want to leave," the bartender said. Roman furrowed her brow. "This planet is run by that prison, whoever owns the prison owns the planet. They take over, they get the whole planet. Then nothing but the Necromonger Lord Marshall can take this planet back from them. They'll run the streets like a pack of wolves. We aint got no army to stop 'em." Roman and Raze exchanged looks.

"Think the ship is refueled by now?" Raze asked.

"Enough to get us to Helion Minor," Roman answered as she stood and grabbed her bag. "Let's get the hell out of here."

"What's the rush, I'm sure the inmates won't be looking for a couple a nobody's. They'll mostly be lookin for trouble."

"Yeah? Well, we put half those inmates in there," Raze called as she finished her drink. A look of realization struck the barkeep and he nodded.

"One for the road," he called and tossed them a bottle.

"Thanks," Roman said catching it and shoving it in her bag. "Let's go," she stated and she and Raze ran from the bar back toward the refueling dock of the prison.

“Look at this pretty girl…how about you join my gang and we promise to protect you,” one of the men said in a husky voice. April tilted her head a little as the glanced up and down at the man smiling. “Thanks for the compliment but sorry I don’t join a punch of wannabes,” she pushed passed them knowing that they weren’t going to let her go that easily she waited for any of them to bounce on her. “Get her,” she heard the man say but she was too quick for them. Hearing their footstep running towards her she run towards one of the walls of a cell, jumping up and then pushed off with her feet so that she flipped over one of the men. She landed on her feet behind him, as the other guy comes up behind him she kicks back, straight into his stomach and sending him flying. Before the man in front could even so much as turn around to see where she was, April leapt out at him and cracked his neck. Dropping the man’s body on the ground before turning her attention to the other two, “who’s next?”

“You bitch…” one yells and picks up a massive rock of the ground and threw it straight at her. April was surprised at how strong and little man was and jumped out of the way. She got distracted by the flying rock that she didn’t notice the husky voice man coming up behind her. He pulled her up by her hair, wrapping one arm around her throat, “you’re not so tough now,” he whispered into her ear. As the other guy walked casually and smiling towards her, he pulled out what looked like the pointy end of a spear which they had probably made out of all these stones and rocks around here. She kicked her legs up, struggling in the man’s grip as the other one came closer. “You touch me with that thing you will have breathed your last breath.” The man holding her tightened his grip, making it hard for her to breathe as she struggled. But then April stopped kicking and decided to wait for the guy to come closer so she could reach him and stupidly enough he did. As he came into reach April pushed her feet of the ground and wrapped her legs around the guy’s neck but not before he stabbed her with the rock piece straight into her thigh. April cringed before twisting her legs and breaking that guy’s neck.

The other man holding her was struggling the whole time with having to hold up her whole body. He fell back onto the ground and she followed landing on top of him. April rolled off him, clutching her leg where the rock stuck. “Son of a…” but before she could finish the other guy kicked her in the back. She fell forward, her face landing in the muddy ground. He kicked her again, “how do you like that?” April winced when he hit her again, pulling herself up from the ground but then he just hit her again and she fell. Play time is over. She swung her leg around on the ground, tripping him over, he fell. April didn’t hesitate much as she pulled out the sharp rock out of her thigh, biting her lip a little before she stuck it straight in the guy’s chest, piercing his heart. She closed her eyes, breathing heavily before slowly getting to her feet. “Anybody else care to have a go,” she kept most of her body wait on her right leg and not her injured one. She was going to have to stitch it up somehow, brushing her hair out of her face and then wiping some of the mud of her clothing. April just stood their staring at her surroundings, before looking at the three men she had killed.

Kronus sughed as he gre wbored of stalking the man, and turned to return to his cell. He cringed as he passed a few corpses.

Must be what they do around here to clean up he thought as he neared the tunnel. Once again, a new convict had been lowered into the prison, another woman. He smiled as the welcomng committee once again had their arses handed to them. He laughed as she killed the last one and issued a challenge to the watching inmates.

"Bad move, kitty." he muttered as he watched several more men drop from the landing above to the floor. He grinned and pulled his spear from his back, beginning to sharpen it with the many rocks down here, watching to see when to step in.

Shadow had caught on to the follower he had walked around until he had left he then reversed his tactic and followed him. This man was watching as another woman was dropped into the pit. She easily dispatched of the other inmates she issued a challenge. Shadow had barely heard the man say "Bad move, kitty"

Shadow felt bad as more inmates had jumped down. She was injured for crying out loud. Shadow approached the center of the pit and exclaimed towards the woman who was about to get into a frey that she probably couldn't handle " i will be on your side for now, i don't want to see a pretty woman break a sweat." He smiled at her showing her that he meant no harm.

April smirked as a few more men decided to take up on her offer which wasn’t really part of her plan. She tilted her head a little staring around the group of men, she noticed one standing a little further behind, watching. He was holding some sort of weapon which she would have to keep an eye on if he decided to join in. Her leg little stung but she hides the pain and emotion, just smiling at the situation at hand. April moved her neck around to crack it, making it seem like she was getting ready to fight but just then another man approached her. There was something about him that she didn’t find threatening, like he was here for something else then a fight and so she waited to see what he would do.

‘I will be on your side for now, I don't want to see a pretty woman break a sweat.’ April chuckled to herself and then turned her attention back to the group of men, “Whatever sweetheart, just don’t get in my way,” she glances over at the man again smiling before she realise someone running up behind him. “Duck,” the guy throws a punch but she was too quick grabbing hold of his fist. She tightens her grip, as the guy cried in pain hearing the bones in his hand breaking; he dropped to his knees before she let him go. “And don’t forget to watch your back,” she smirked before seeing if anyone else wanted to take a go.

Shadow had not seen the guy coming from behind, So as the woman said "Duck." He ducked drew the blade that he had won and stabbed the man that the women had warned him about, he completely gutted him . He then rolled to the side and saw that a man was coming behind the girl, he threw the blade and it pierced the mans heart, "Maybe you should take your own advice." he remarked as he ran towards the dead inmate, he noticed that the inmate still had a little life in him, so he twisted the blade out of the man to create more pain. He was thinking to himself when he did this, maybe he could feel a fraction of the pain that i went through before i went remembering the glory days of assassination.
