It was the first day of school. Dana and Drake were skate boarding down to the high school since it really wasn't far away, and because Drake loved to board. Dana was in bright blue pants and a pink tank top with a bright, lime green sweatshirt on and a purple bow in her hair, with purple converse hightops on. Drake was wearing his normal black jeans with a black band t-shirt and a random sweater.

The two skated to their normal spot, which was right under a tree in front of the school, waiting for more people to come along, hoping that some friends would show up soon.

Delilah walked tiredly with her brother towards school. She and Kade weren’t able to sleep last night due to her parents fighting most of the night. It seemed like they fought more and more now and days and it was driving Kade and Delilah insane. Though she was tired, Delilah still took a long time this morning to decide on what to wear. She finally settled on a 30 Seconds to Mars band t-shirt, some dark blue skinny jeans and her black hi-top converse. Kade had put on a black t-shirt that had a skull on it and some jeans with his black Vans.

Kade yawned as they walked up to the school and smiled when he saw Drake and Dana. He waved at them as he walked over with his sister.

"Parents fighting again?" Drake asked as he took in their tired look. "The offer is always there for if y'all want to sleep over." He and his sister had offered many times, though he couldn't figure out why they wouldn't accept the offer. It wasn't like they were completely strangers, and his parents actually liked Kade and Delilah. In fact, his mother often talked about how great kade would be for Dana, who pretended to be disgusted by the thought.
Dana just kept quiet as she smiled to the two of them. Her brother usually did most of the talking, and this was no exception.

“Yeah they were fighting again.” Kade said with a sigh. He was seriously considering the offer. He was about to say something, but Delilah beat him too it. “I think I’m ready to take that offer. I don’t know how much more of this I can take before I go completely insane.” She said and Kade nodded in agreement. He too wasn’t sure how much more he could take. At times he just felt like yelling at his parents and telling them that they were acting like children, but he knew if he did he’d be in so much trouble.

"Alright. Y'all know you can come over at any time. Our door's always open to you." Drake said, just restating what he had said many, many times before. "Yea, Kade can sleep in my room and Delilah can sleep in Drakes." Dana laughed jokingly. She said a few things on those lines, though covered it to make it look like a joke, though the girl really wouldn't have minded sharing a room with her best guy friend. Drake just laughed and shook his head, not catching on to his sisters little crush.

Delilah and Kade laughed also not catching on to Dana’s crush. The bell rang right then and Kad and Delilah sighed. “I don’t wanna go to biology.” Delilah complained.
“Well I don’t want to go to English.” Kade said with another sigh.
“What do you mean? English is the best aside from art.” Delilah said.
“What do you guys have first?” Kade asked as he looked at Dana and Drake.

Drake was laughing also. "I have Math." He sighed. The boy was good at the subject, but he hated it.
"Spanish." Dana said, glad to be the odd ball who didn't have a core class first, and the odd ball who wasn't wearing black, as usual. "I guess I'll catch y'all later." She was also the oddball who was looking forward to her first class, because she loved the language and the teacher whom she had had the previous year also for the class.

“See ya later Dana.” Kade said as he waved at her. He sighed again and then got an idea. “We should ditch.” He said with a smile.
“That’s not a good idea.” Delilah said though she really wanted to.
“Well do you wanna ditch?” Kade asked Drake knowing that if he said he would Delilah would also agree. He hoped he would say yes.

Dane waved over to them before heading to class. The first bell rang, though no one really went to class until the second bell, so they had time. "Sure, let's go." Drake said, grabbing his board. "Dana's gonna be mad that we didn't invite her." He said, but didn't much mind. His sister was always getting mad at him for something.

Delilah sighed. “I guess I’ll come too.” She said as she looked at the two boys, though inside she was really happy to ditch. Kade smirked to himself because his plan worked.
“Let’s go then.” He said with a smile and began walking and then stopped. “Where are we going?” He asked as he turned back to look at his sister and Drake. Delilah shrugged not knowing where to go.

Drake followed them, slowly moving on his board. "There's my house, the skate park, the woods, that abandoned farm..." He started rattling off random places as they came to his mind. None of it really mattered to him, he was just happy to be away from school. Besides, it was the first day so no one would really mind.

Delilah thought about it. “Umm… I say either the skate park or the abandoned farm.” She said as she walked. She wished she had her skateboard with her so if they did decide on the skate park she’d have her board.
“I don’t care. Either is fine with me so you decide Drake.” Kade said as he walked.

"Well, since neither of you have your board, how about the farm?" Drake suggested as he looked down and saw that both of them were walking. It didn't matter to him, he boarded everywhere, so he always had his board with him, and treated pretty much every place like a skate park. He took out his phone to text his sister. 'We're skipping, going to the farm, come after class if you want' he typed in before sending it to her.

“Sounds good to me.” Kade said as he started to head towards the farm. Delilah watched Drake as he texted someone and guessed that he texted Dana. She then walked in silence and watched the ground as she thought about her parents fighting. In her mind she was wishing that they would stop. She feared that soon her dad was going to become abusive.

After putting his phone down, he picked Delilah up and put her on his board. He often did that with his sister when she didn't have her board, but since his sister wasn't there he was using the girl who was close enough to be his sister. It was like they were one extended family or something, which made it fun to have more people to hang out with.

Delilah was so lost in thought that when Drake picked her up and put her on his board it startled her. After a second she giggled and looked at Drake with a smile. Kade looked at them when he heard his sister giggle and shook his head and smiled as he continued walking.

"You wanna see how many people we can skate with?" Drake laughed, holding onto Delilah so that she didn't fall, as he looked over at Kade, who was looking at them. His smile never left his face as they continued on to the old farm that hadn't been inhabited ever since he could remember.
