Howdy-hey, guys and gals. January has turned into February ..
.. There are only a few more weeks to get in your submissions!
Out of the thirty or so of you who posted on the Promo thread, promising submissions, only ten of you have submitted.
But guess what? We have incentives!
The users with the top three submissions will be granted a Contributor credit, here at RolePlayGateway!
Traditionally, the Contributor credit has only been awarded to those who donated monetarily to the website, but in this case, your top dog high-quality 5-second video will be rewarded with your username turning a bright, blinding yellow.
Check it out!
This is, of course, a way not only to encourage more videos to be produced, but to keep the quality high! The things the leads are looking for in "best" submissions are creativity, quality of recording (audio/lighting, etc) and personality. Let us know who you are!
If you've already submitted and want a chance to resubmit given the new contest criteria, then go ahead and do so! Remember to e-mail attachments to rpgpromotional@gmail.com.
You have until the end of February. Let's keep those submissions coming in!

Howdy-hey, guys and gals! Hope you had a great New Year's Eve!
With 2012 just beginning, RolePlayGateway is off in a fresh, new direction. Your Design team have been tasked with creating a promotional video meant to capture the spirit of what we do here, as a community, and we can't do it ourselves!
It's no secret that we have a massive userbase here at RolePlayGateway. Users log in from all different walks of life. Some of us are college-age, high school-age, younger, or older, from countries far and wide - but the one thing that brings us together despite everything is that we are role-players, and through that, we grow together.
Our goal is to create a video showcasing how diverse our wonderful community is, and yet, what unifies us creatively ..
.. And we need your help!
What we need from you, is a brief (no longer than five seconds!) video of you speaking into a camera, using the following format:
- "I am [insert occupation], and I am a roleplayer."
- "I am an accountant, and I am a roleplayer."
"I am a high school sophomore, and I am a roleplayer."
"I am a middle school teacher, and I am a roleplayer."
"I am a librarian and I am a roleplayer."
To avoid repeating entries, strive to make your "occupation" a bit varied. For example, if you are a college student specify what you're studying! Feel free to get as creative as you like. Costumes or interesting locations are all the better.
Here are some tips for shooting your video!
- 1. Make sure you're in a well-lit area! We want to see who you are, not a bunch of shadows.
2. Audio is key. If we can't hear what you're saying, we won't be able to use your submission!
3. Keep it short!
The submissions are open, JANUARY 1st, and the deadline is set for THE END OF FEBRUARY.. The final video will be finished and posted by the end of March.
To make a submission:
Attach the video file in an e-mail to rpgpromotional@gmail.com
If it won't fit in an attachment, host it on YouSendit and e-mail us the link!
With ALL submissions, PLEASE include your username, EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON ROLEPLAYGATEWAY in the subject line.
We will be adding in your username over your submission when it is edited into the final project.
This is going to be a lot of work, and we're truly grateful for your help. The finished video will be posted on our YouTube channel, once completed. Keep your eye on that channel in the months to come! Some other goodies might find their way on there!
Thanks for reading!
Any questions about anything at all, please post them in this thread.
