here is my character

Name: Jared Miller
Age:17
Occupancy: (job or student or both) high school senior but he also works as a car detailer part time for a company called spot n clean
Looks: he is average build with short brown hair and green eyes, he spends alot of time outside so he stays pretty tan and likes to keep himself in shape but not muscle bound huge. the girls around the school always tell him he is easy on the eyes
Background: jared is the middle child of the miller family, but he is the oldest one still living under their parents roof. he loves to draw and listen to music and spends most of his time doing exactly that, that is when he's not hanging at the local park with his friends or working. he is an easy going guy that is easy to get along with and easy to talk to



A groan escaped Jareds lips when the alarm clock went off. "why the hell had the alarm clock been turned on anyways, it was saturday he thought as he flopped a leg out of bed. "oh shit, the new girl is supposed to be coming home today and i was supposed to have the lawn mowed." he swore as he jumped up and pulled a shirt over his head then threw on a pair of jogging shorts. he grabbed his ipod as he ran out the door and into the back yard.

he pulled the mower out and cranked it up, smoke billowing from the sides from lack of use, the old engine whining as it tried to turn the blades fast enough to cut the lawn. he was only half way done when the mower gave out, the engine moaning a sigh of relief. jared swore, then covered his mouth and looked around to make sure none of his brothers were around. his parents always gave him shit about his foul mouth. he opens the fridge and poured himself a cold glass of lemonade and retreated to the front porch, sipping on it and watchingthe cars pass. nothing he could do now, not until his dad got home and she would be here by then.

Occupancy: (job or student or both) high school senior and does not have a job due to life
Looks: Kay is an average sized girl with rather big, blue eyes and long brown hair. She has a natural tan but still does stay out a lot and a very natural pink completion.
Background: A the age of 4 her mother died leaving her and her father to fend for themselves. Depression over took the poor man and drove him to committing suicide, leaving Kay all alone. for most of her life she has grown up in a small orphanage in the outskirts of town, in hopes that someone would fine her and adopt her. Kay loves to read, write and draw and hopes to become either an artist or a writer. She spends most of her time in a secluded area, playing with new ideas and such. Unfortunately due to her status, She does not have many friends outside the orphanage but she does hang out sometimes.



Kay took a deep breath as the black car moved down the path laid out before her. The driver, happily whistling an old tune, looked at Kay and smiled "We found you a great new home, you will love it!" That practically made Kay's heart melt. She had been waiting for this opportunity for many years and could hardly believe it was coming true now. She was so lucky that out of all the kids they could have chosen at the orphanage, they chose her. She had not met the family yet, and knew little about them, but she knew that wherever she ended up she would be happy.

A few hours passed before The driver pulled up to what looked like to Kay to be the most beautiful house she had ever seen! "Here we are!" the passenger door opened wide for Kay to step out of, and so she did with grace. Kay then grabbed her bag from the back and stepped out once again. "Good luck! Happy life!" The driver said as he pulled away. Kay took another deep breath as she suddenly became breathless, making her blush. Her heart beat gradually speed up as she took slow steps towards the porch, only to find a guy sitting on it. "ah.. uhm.. Hello my name is Kay, would this happen to be the Miller's residence?" She said, resiting what she was told to say when she got here.

"yea' he said cauually leaning against one of the beams supporting the patio. "you must be the new girl, Uh.. my new sister?' he said stumbling over his words and berating himself for his stupidity. yea she was cute, but what the hell did that matter, she was his sister now, and besides he had a girlfriend..

"let me show you to your room' he said standing and taking one of the bags from her before walking inside, not even looking behind him to see if she was following. they walked up the stairs and to the last door at the end of the hall, which happened to be next to his and across from his two brothers. "the bathroom is there, mom and dads room is there.' he said pointing to the doors in turn. Dinner is at five, breakfast is at seven thirty. anything else just ask." he said smiling at her then turning and going into his own room.

he sat on his bed, his back pressed against the wall and picked up his guitar. he quitly ran his hand across it then tweeked the strings a bit. he repeated this a few more times until he was satisfied that each string was tuned correctly. he put his ear phones on then began strumming out hte song that was currently playing, a talent he had found at an early age

Kay smiled happily when he walked away as the red coloring slowly receded from her face. Why had she blushed so much around him? She shrugged it off as just being nervous. He was one of the most handsome guys she had ever seen, but he was going to be her knew brother and she highly doubted that anything would happen other then a brotherly hug!

She opened the door slowly, wondering what it would look like on the inside. She had to admit, She was taken aback quite a bit about having such a big bed! The room was plain, but in some senses elegant. Kay looked back, making sure that he was completely gone before jumping on the bed and snuggling her head in to one of the pillows. She silently paraded herself for finally getting her own room and a family for herself as she dug her head farther and farther in to the pillow. Finally when Kay needed air she jumped back out and breath heavily. She looked in the mirror to the side and became slightly embarrassed when she noticed that she gave herself bed head. She quickly smoothed it out and stood up. Sudden realization hit her, she had not gotten his new brothers name yet!

She slowly stood up and walked out of her room as she tried to remember which room was his. She knocked on the room that he had said before. "uh hello?" She asked quietly.

with his head phones on and his playing the guitar he didn't hear the knock on his bedroom door so he was surprised when he went to walk out and bumped into her. "ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" he asked, his face turning slightly red as he realized he was yelling at her. he pulled his head phones out and asked again in not so loud a tone " are you alright? I hope i didn't hurt you." he said as he rubbed his forhead where they had bumped together. he pulled her hand away from her head and noticed the small bump she was starting to get. "damn let's get some ice on that before it gets any bigger" he said taking her hand and leading her down into the kitchen where he scrounged up a baggie and some ice from the freezer then wrapped it in a towel so it wasn't so cold against her head. "you thirsty or hungry?" he asked as he rummaged through the fridge not really looking for anything but using the cool air from the fridge to try and take the red from his face.

Kay was surprised when the door suddenly opened and him and her clashed against each other. She muttered a small ow as she rubbed her head, but her hand was taken away when he looked at it. She felt embarrassed for having caused such trouble, which only made her blush more. She sighed, unfortunately that was a common thing for her. "uh, no I am fine thank you" She said as she looked down at the baggy of ice in her hand. She smiled and put it towards her head, glad the the coolness could reach the rest of your face. "are... are you alright? Surely you must need some ice also?" She asked in a concerned voice. She took a deep breath, this was not really how she wanted to start out a bond with a brother or a sister but it would have to do.

"no.. uh i'm fine he muttered rubbing his forhead and feeling the lump forming, but to him it wasn't a big deal, he could just play it off as a football accident or some such nonsense, not like it really mattered as long as his friends didn't find out that he had gotten it from bumping heads with his new sister.

he felt his cell phone ring in his pocket and pulled it out. it was his girlfriend asking if he could take her to the mall to find a new pair of shoes. "yea I'll be right over" he replied then closed the fridge and started walking off. "i'm leaving but mom and dad should be home soon so just make yourself at home. T.V's in there if you want" he said then quickly walked out to alleviate his embarressment

Kay nodded her head as she waved good bye but then once again she remembered the whole reason she had even gone out to see him. "ah... W- WAIT!" She tried to yell after him, but the door had already closed. Kay sighed deeply "what is your name?" She muttered to herself before picking up the bag of ice and going to explore the house.

Should could not help but wonder whom was on the phone with him. She smiled, must have been a girlfriend or some good friend. A hint of jealously passed through her for a few seconds before Kay had to mentally slap herself for ending it. She shrugged it off, remembering that he was her brother and that it would stay that way.

Jared always hated going to the mall especially with his girlfriend, and although he loved her, he truely hated the agonizing hours she spent trying on shoe after shoe only to try on the first pair she tried and eventually pick the third pair she tried on. he swore that it was a game to her.
he sat in his car, the engine running the car in reverse and his foot on the brake, but for some reason he just couldn't take his foot ofthe brake. was it guilt for leaving his new sister at home, or was it just simply the fact that he didn't really want to go watch her try on every sho in the store, the same ones she had tried on a hundred times before. "damnit" he swore as he slammed the car into park and threw open his door. he walked back up to the house and yelled "HEY YOU FEEL LIKE GOING TO GET TO KNOW THE TOWN?" he peeked his head inside glancing around. if his girlfriend had someone to try on shoes with then maybe he could slip out and check out the new weight set that came out at the sports store

Kay had been deep in thought by now and had successfully found several spot that she would love to sit and read at. She jumped when she heard his echo roam throughout the house. Quickly Kay walked to where she heard his voice coming from and smiled brightly "Sure that sounds wonderful!"

She sighed, happy that she would not have to stay home alone. Though it was no big deal to her, and it brought a smile to her face to even be calling it a home! "but are you sure it is okay? I mean, should we call your- excuse me" She corrected herself "Our parents first?" She asked. The last thing she wanted and needed was to get in trouble on her first day being here! She did not want to be sent back to the orphanage for something like that! Kay shook her head, knowing that would not happen, but fear still crept upon her.

Jared thought it over for a minute then said"your right and walked into the kitchen. grabbing a pen and paper he scribbled a quick note. " took my sister to the mall, be home later" he placed it on the counter where he was sure his parents would find it " ok lets go' he said as he walked back out to his car and threw it in gear, waiting for her to get in so he could go. oh stacy was so gonna have a fit, but she'd get over it once she started trying on shoes.

they drove the few blocks to he house and he didn't even have to get out. she was waiting for him on the front steps, her foot tapping impatiently against the cold cement stair. "well it's about time!" she said as she plopped herself down in the passenger seat then turned to Kay. "hi I'm stacy, Jareds girlfriend, and who are you?" she asked in her nicest voice she could muster, but that meant you better stay away from him or else

Kay smiled from the politeness, She was glad she knew someones name. "ah so that is your name, Jared!" She said to Jared with a small chuckle. She turned back to Stacy and smiled even brighter then before "It is very nice to meet you Stacy! I am Kay, Jared's sister" Kay had not noticed the pretense behind Stacy's niceness, rather just thought of it as the way it should be!

She looked at Stacy again, noticing suddenly how pretty and fashionable she was. Kay thought that it was great that people could have such nice clothes and such "He invited me to get to know the town" She said, remembering when he had yelled back a few minutes after he 'yelled'.

"well there isn't much to see" she stated rather bluntly. "in fact the only thing we do around here is hang out at the mall and down at the park" she said added.

they pulled into the mall and after a battle to the bones, finally found a parking spot. stacy got out and slammed her door shut, not giving Kay a chance to get out, so Jared kept his door open while she climbed out. "Stacy you had better be nice, this is my sister whether you like it or not" he said glaring at her, already annoyed at the treatment she was giving her, although that was Stacys' style, she came off as abrasive and harsh in her words until you proved yourself worthy of her friendship. A traite Jared found rather annoying, and a reason most of his friends wouldn't hang out with the two of them together.

just as he had suspected Stacy went right to the same shoe store she always did. "why don't you try another store, maybe you'll find something there that you'll like." he pleaded trying to avoid the dreaded le' fem petite, a fashionable female footwear store, or so stacy claimed. all he ever saw was a bunch of over priced shoes with sparkles all over them, but what did he know he was a guy and had no fashion. He longed to slip away, go somewhere more manly but he hated leaving Kay here with his girlfriend after the rough treatment she had given her, and he knew Stacy wouldn't stay here alone, not without alot of complaining on the way home. it was a losing battle so he plopped himself down on one of the benches used to try on shoes and dropped his chin into his hands, outwardly sighing.

Kay had finally seen what was going on a little after Stacy had almost shut the door in Kay's face. Although she would not admit it, She was hating this Stacy person more then she knew she should. She tried to tell herself already that technically Kay had moved in to 'hostile territory' For Stacy's standards, but she still had a feeling she better be more self conscious around her.

Kay smiled brightly when she looked at the many shoes before her. She had never been to this particular store. This was mostly because she had not seen the store in her area, but it was still great. "Wow these shoes are amazing" She said with a smile, hoping to win a little satisfaction from Stacy.

Out of one corner of her eye, she could already see many shoes that caught her eyes and quickly got to work on shopping for them. Picking shoes from different sizes, shapes, and forms was definitely her favorite part. "You must shop here alot" Kay said, noting that efficiency and such.

Jared was glad to see that at least Kay was making an effort to befriend Stacy. "the two of them may just get along well" he thought to himself as he watched each in turn, paying more attention to Kay, more out of curiousity to get to know her better than looks, although to his standards she was very cute.

after an hour of agonizing tourture in the shoe shop, Stacy finally found a pair that she was satisfied with. he was also surprised that Kay had found a pair of shoes, but even more surprising was that Stacy was actually talking to her, and not in her typical belittleing voice, but as two girls. she would say something then they would both giggle as they stood there in line waiting to pay for their shoes.

they finally made it out and walked down the large hallway that made up the interior of the mall. "any one hungry?" he asked as they passed a preztel shop, the smell of fresh made prezels filling his nose. " my treat" he added smiling at the two of them lagging behind as they talked and giggled

Kay had to admit, Stacy was a very interesting person once she had gotten to know her. She seemed to make Kay laugh a lot about things that she had heard in town. She had even told Kay about a bunch of people that she could meet and befriend at school and what the classes were like.

She smiled, having a lot of fun with these people felt very refreshing in some sense to her. Not to mention the shoes she had gotten were the cutest pair she think she had ever saw! As she walked, She reminded herself to occasional come back to the store to look for more pairs as cute as them.

Kay felt her mouth water from the sweet, yet salty aroma of the pretzels at the nearby shop. She was hungry, and had not eaten much that morning, making the pretzels look that much more delicious. "Are you sure?" She said, referring to him offering to pay for it. She did not mind paying at all, especially for something as trivial as a pretzel.

"nah" he said walking over to the counter and ordering three pretzels " it's the least i can do for my new sister" he said smiling at her and ruffling her hair a bit then turning to retrieve the pretzels and walking over to sit at a vacant table in between the two shops.

Stacy sat next to him leaving the spot directly across from him vacant for Kay. he looked at her as he passed her one of the pretzels and couldn't help but notice her clear blue eyes. when he caught himself staring he looked away quickly and asked Stacy "so did you get everything you needed?"

Kay sat down slowly and smiled as he handed her the pretzel. "Thanks" she muttered as she took a big bite out of the pretzel. She had to admit, it did hit the spot at a time like this and made her happy really quickly.

She looked at Jared and Stacy for a few seconds, suddenly noticing what a good couple they made. From what it looked like, they had been going out for a while. Kay sighed, suddenly not feeling as hungry as before, but guessed it was due to already eating some of the pretzel.

She nodded her head "Aren't you going to go shopping also?" she asked him. She highly doubted that watching them shop was his first ideals for shopping.

"nah" he said as he took a bite f his pretzel. "shopping isn't really my thing." he said shrugging.

they finished their pretzels then headed back to the car. after Jared walked Stacy to the door and kissed briefly the tow of them headed home. they got home and realized that their parents werent home yet. "well I had fun today. i am going back up to my room. if you want to shower or anything you know where the bathroom is." he said and turned walking up the stairs, digging his ipod out of his pocket and plugging them into his ears as he went into his room

"Oh, well then that works" Kay said as she finished up her pretzel.

Slowly Kay opened the car door and stretched her bones. "Ya I had fun too, thanks a lot" She said. When Jared wad fully out of sight she wondered what to do. She sighed, thinking that what he had suggested was probably the best idea. She could use a nice hot shower and she would probably look more presentable if she did so for when she met her knew parents.

Kay grabbed a towel and her necessities from her bag, reminding herself that she would have to unpack later on. Slowly she walked down the hall and towards the bathroom. Kay turned on the water to a good tempreture for her nerves and quickly stripped out of her clothes. She quickly jumped in to her shower before her body developed goosebumps and let the hot water calm herself as she cleaned herself.
