Kaedai heard voices, but it was hard to determine where they were coming from. These hard surfaces made the sound carry well, but also confused the mind as to it's direction of origin. He closed his eyes and listened closely. Denying one sense could heighten another. When he thought he had gotten the general direction it was coming from, Kaedai stood us slowly, still in a crouch, and walked across a small wooden plank to an adjoining rooftop. Lying prone again, he looked down at the narrow "streets". At first, he couldn't see anything but darkness. But when his natural night vision kicked in, he could see the street perfectly, it was just dark. Closing his eyes again, Kaedai listened for any noise, a footstep, a whisper, anything. Then, four different explosions went off in four different places. He made the mistake of looking when the third went off, and was blinded by the flashbangs. But he didn't get up, didn't move except lay flat against the rooftop. He knew what blindness could do to you if you moved, especially in these high spaces. Staying still until his vision cleared of the light, he stood up cautiously and moved to another rooftop, moving closer to what he hoped was the source of those flashbangs.
