Rather new. And rather confused. ( )

I've just joined and while I am a veteran player/writer, it is this site itself that confuses me.

I've found the help forum on how to RP and how to write and all of that, but I found little to no help on the expectations of the people on this site in terms of posting new roleplays. Specifically in a forum such as the "Books & Literature fiction-based" forum. Do I post a thread in there and have people jump in at their will or is there another place wherein I am meant to first round up prospective players and then start the thread?

I'm sorry if there was a better place in which to ask this - I've been searching for some time and couldn't find any place!

Hey there, Evaline. M'name's Sato, and it's nice to meet you!

This site is pretty confusing right off the bat, so let me step in to give you a helping hand. xD

Your first step is to head over to the Interest Check forum. That's a place where you can cast your net wide and accrue players who want to join up with a story or a concept or something that you have in mind. Even on a more organic level, you can just kick around similar likes, dislikes, things you will do, won't do. Think of it like a place where you post your resume and have people come to you.

From there, you can go two directions.

1. You can do a forum roleplay which would consist of you posting an IC topic in the sub forum of your choice (Books & Literature as an option, like you said!) and an OOC topic in our Out of Character sub forum. Link one to the other for your players once you've made the Interest Check, and et voila.

2. You can make a roleplay with our unique Roleplay Tab feature. Just go to the top of the page, and under "Roleplay" select "ADD NEW ROLEPLAY" and follow the instructions from there. That auto-generates an OOC topic for you in the same forum that I mentioned, so you won't have to worry about making one by hand. The Roleplay Tab is really cool, so check it out!

In both cases, once the RP is made, you can make a post in the Roleplayers Wanted forum, which is a place where GMs of existing roleplays look for people to fill specific character roles that they have already created.

So, that's sorta the rundown. Any other questions, just ask around! We're a helpful bunch.

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
