No, the issue is specifically related to the performance of our database. Requests can take a longer period of time than usual, which causes queries to build up behind them - and this cascades into a full-on database traffic jam.
This has been a known issue for quite some time (since early 2008), and we are continuing to tune the server to maximize our database's performance.

I myself had not cared it was down, heartless to say i agree... but hey... now that iw asnt RPing.. it was playing my video games agian...
