Fur: Rust, with a lighter stomach
Characteristics: Kind of shy around people, but fearless in a fight, doesn't speak much, and keeps to himself mostly.
Side: Redwall

What I want to get out of this story is to try and keep it as close as possible to the books, without re-creating the stories already written, so basically we will be writing our own Redwall story!

race: River Otter

weapons: short sword, buckler, short spear, sling and stones
eyes: deep brown eyes
fur: mud brown with a black "V" on the back of his neck
characteristics: friendly, playfull
side: Good
age: 6 seasons (1 1/2 years)
History: Son of cheek (an otter who helped rescue mattimeo) Grew up in his holt learning to use his weapons and hunt.

OOC: It has been a while since I have read the Redwall series, pardon me if my characters are a little out of whack, i will quickly try to sensitize myself with things.

Name: Dark
Race: Otter
Region: Unknown
Weapons/Armor: Twin blades, long and slender but sturdy and deadly. One is darkened with fire and the other is shined silver.
Eyes: A dark piercing blue. Usually narrowed in either dislike or a calculating stare.
Fur: Black, but closer scrutiny reveals a few dark brown hairs amongst the rough. Her namesake.
Side: undecided.
Characteristics/Background: A strange upbringing in the cult that hailed her as their chosen one (due to her black pelt) left Dark withdrawn, vindictive, and clinging onto a broken moral compass. Her mood swings come frequently and are explosive at best, driven on by voices and catcalls that scream to her even as she tries to sleep...she is motivated by a search for truth, and if she thinks she sees the truth she will fight doggedly for it till the end...

Wonderful character! I can't wait to find out more about her! I forgot to post the history of my character.

Dyrin Syche, is from the viking tribe Sychen from the Far North and icy land, of which is known little about except by it's inhabitants. In the past season the Season of the Burning heat and Deadly cold as it was called by the tribe, their crops were first wiped out by a drought then winter came in early blowing away any chance to re-plant in one foul cold swoop. Dyrin was sent by the chief, also his father, to find a new land for the tribe. Much like Beowulf Dyrin set out with a band of 13 hand pickedm an and sailed for many months across a cold unforgiving sea, finally making his way to, what he will later find out is Mossflower, which he hopes his tribe can make their new home. Dyrin is bold and brave, in battle he is fearless almost to the point of recklessness. When out of combat the cheery side of him found in most vikings shows out brightly he is all the time poking fun at others or playing jokes. Yet he is also a scrutinous and meticulate leader and does not let fun get in the way of his work.

I'd like to be a compatriot of Dyrin, perhaps an elder warrior squirrel who is stodgy and serious all the time, but very protective of the younger warriors. He is a stalwart and trusted friend of Dyrin’s father. He would be wise and measured, a very logical beast. He would be fearsome in battle despite his advancing seasons. He is a bit slow due to arthritis in many of his joints, but he makes up for that with his bulky muscular frame and advanced experience in battle craft. I suppose I couldn’t really play to big a role, as I will be vacationing for a few weeks. I might be able to pop in here and there.

Name: Donder Uthafson
Species/Coloring: Grey squirrel; His fur is mostly shocked silver around the head and shoulders.
Region: The Far North
Weapons/Armour: A large and well worn battleaxe and a woven sling are always by his side. He wears chainmail under his heavy woolen clothes and a simple helmet into battle.
Eyes: Icy blue.
Fur: Shaggy and uneven. Age has made the hair on his muzzle longer that normal, like a small beard.

Also, I have trouble remembering, what sorts of clothes do the creatures in Redwall books wear? I don’t remember, do the characters wear pants? I guess I remember Racketty-Tam wearing a kilt, so I suppose they do. I always pictured them in mostly bare-fur, but maybe that is my faulty memory. But they don’t wear shoes, right? I’m almost certain they don’t wear shoes.

Oh boy! Ok. We got a lot of gentle-creatures but no foe-beasts yet. I wonder if it’s ok, everyone who would like to could create an alternate character; one good and one bad. I notice that in Brian Jacques’ stories the villains are usually the ones that kick off the plot and are the most organized at first (at least the main villains). I wonder, would Drako or anyone else care to think up a plot that would allow the vermin to enter Mossflower, to attempt their foolish conquests once again?

You know what might be interesting; what if the Mossflower squirrels saw the Viking squirrels as an invading force and strike at them in defense of their trees? Maybe they could make peace after an initial skirmish, or maybe they are befriended by a group of otters, but mistrusted by most other Mossflower residents? I’m just tossing out ideas.

Oh! How about this? The good creatures are the invaders for once. There could be a fertile tree-filled forest that is infested with vermin and the good creature band together to drive out the evil kingdom and take the land for the "Lost Viking" squirrels. I think that would be an interesting story that wouldn't be a repeat of the original books.

Will the otters encounter the vikings on the high seas or once they have landed? I was wondering.

OOC: Alright, well here are the villains after my character! They should be bringing trouble for her and everyone else as well! A note--I do realize that this thread has no magic, but this cult is major...so if my characters seem to be able to melt into the shadows and whatnot, its not magic its just uber...awesomeness. These three are out to kill Dark for some reason, out to bring her back to the cult she escaped from...

Armor: None, but wears a flowing black ragged cloak with an enveloping hood. Eerie.

Fur: Shaggy and ratted, but she wears a robe and cloak you can't see it.
Personality: Beautiful and she knows it. Bitter, wants to kill Dark because everyone in their cult thought the black furred otter was prettier than she was...a bit of a drama queen...long claws likes to scratch when aggrivated.

Armor: None, but wears a flowing black ragged cloak with an enveloping hood.Eerie.

Personality: Doesn't talk much. Identifies with Dark because she is also an otter, but is bitter and wants to kill her because they were the only two otters in the clan, and she was 'blessed' with the dark fur instead of he.

Armor: He is leading the other two, so under his hood he wears a silver helm that signifies him as one of the cult leaders.

Fur: Sleek and smooth, unlike the other two
Personality: The ultimate megalomaniac. The other two are scared of him, to be sure. He is out to kill Dark because she scorned his cult, scorned their ways...

Weapon: A long double-edged sword, much like a blade used by badgers, which he uses for large combat. He also uses throwing knives and other assassin weapons.
Special skill: Assassination, stealth and weapons expert. He also has other skills, but these are his main skills.
Appearance: A simple wolverine wearing spiked and studded armor much like that of a badgers. When he's going on a stealth mission, he wears completely black-ninja like clothes.
Rank: Head weapons expert, and master of stealth and assassin.
Side: the horde.

weapon: Barbed-javelins and a long deadly sword. He also uses a long bow which he keeps on his back, and a quiver of barbed arrows and barbed jevelins.
special skill: cooking, fighting and swimming like most otters. He loves cooking, and is always helping the friar make delicious meals. He also is a master swordsmen and a skilled warrior. He also is a skilled sailor and owns the Vermin regret a large boat which he uses for traveling.
Apperance: a tall brown otter, very muscular, and he wears ruby and gold armor that was skillfully crafted. His armor looks like samurai armor, and he has full armor. Underneath he wears a red vest and brown gloves. He also has tattoo's and markings similar to the taggerungs.

Nice characters everyone! The RP is going along great, quidhala if you don't get much action in this RP, the way this one is going I am probalby going to put up another one, I am having alot of fun, when this one is done and either start like a series with the same characters, or a whole new one! So if you don't catch this one we will definitely get you in the next one, or we can work you in anywhere at anytime at this one! You have been there the whole time, but are just offering oyur wisdom or something like that maybe

Yes, this one is going a little faster than I usually play, and my current internet limitations keep me from joining in entirely for the next couple weeks. Perhaps I will jump in later as a minor character or in your next game.

I like to go slow and develop my posts to be very rich and full of description, as if Brian Jacques were telling the story.

I am definitely going to try and maek then ext one more in depth and slower so we can make it like you said, as if Brian was telling it. I often look back at my posts in this one and wish I had done them better.
