I need you guys' help! I'm sorry for the long post.

To graduate at my school, you have to take a class called Senior Seminar, where you basically spend the entire semester writing a huge paper and doing research on a subject of your choosing. At the end of the semester, you give a presentation to a bunch of students, parents, professors, and other important people, and take questions on your research. Me being a journalism major, my study had to be related to communications in some manner.

Because of my vast experience with the internet and online relationships, I decided to do my paper on comparing success factors of computer-mediated relationships (CMR, or internet relationships) versus face-to-face relationships.

For my own research, besides studying what others have written, I want to do some in-depth interviews with people who are on both sides of the spectrum. I want to interview 5 people who are or have been in an internet relationship and 5 who are or have been in a face-to-face relationship. Keep in mind, the relationships could have been a failed one. I need people with success and failure stories.

This will not be a survey where I just give you a list of questions. It will be an interview, where I will need to speak to you on AIM, MSN, or less preferably via email or PM on Gateway and get qualitative information to aid me in answering my research questions.

I will not take up a lot of your time when I interview you. I will be prepared with questions to ask and information I need so that it is quick and painless. You will remain anonymous, and will only be referred to by your gender and your age. Even if I am PMing some of you back and forth, I will only be PMing one person at a time so that this remains confidential. I have not yet gathered my thoughts and formed questions, but I'll let you know when I am ready so we can set up a time to speak.

The only prejudice I will have in choosing participants is your skill in typing and forming coherent thoughts with your keyboard. I got side tracked with being what felt like deathly ill, trying not to cough up all my organs and such. Being sick really got me behind on all of my research projects for the semester. Hopefully it will be before the weekend. :/
