Worren stood in the back room of the Dojo; sipping on a small cup of tea, freshly brewed by the elderly lady that lived in the complex behind the building. He was expecting a new student today, after months of being without an apprentice. Perhaps this new student came from wealth, or enough to keep him in business long enough to gain more students, but he didn't hold his breath. With another sip of the tea, he placed the cup down and left it on the rail outside; the old lady would be along shortly to get it.

Pushing apart the sliding doors, he stepped into the main area of the Dojo, the small glow from the lights and sun; the biege walls and floor, all was familiar to him. It smelled clean, of course it would, he had just cleaned it the other day. He was the only one to make use of the place, including the upkeep and his own personal training. Brown orbs flicked around the room, before flesh covered them, and his body went to his knees in meditation. It wouldn't, hopefully, be long now before his new student walked through the doors and displayed his persona. "Interesting," he mused as the world became naught but a pool of calm.

Alex walked slowly through the doors, his boots thumping loudly off the hardwood floor. He scratched the field of blonde stubble that sprouted from his head, flexing his wiry arm muscles. As he entered the room, he took up a fairly open stance, his legs spread to keep his centre of gravity low, his shoulders hunched for throws and tackles. It had been a fair while since he had fought competitivly. Not since he had mustered out of the marines. His steel blue eyes flickered over to his teacher, the analytical part of his mind instantly sizing him up.

He saw the build of a powerful fighter, with legs built for hard kicks. Alex settled for keeping his distance, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet, smiling as the usuall pre-fight adrenaline coursed through his system.

The door opened to allow in his student, Worren's eyes immediately glancing towards him. The man was somewhat of a large, muscular fellow. His body rose, pulling up to his feet; watching the man take up somewhat of a open stance, body settled for grapple-related maneuvers. "You are Alex?" He asked, knowing the answer would be an obvious yes. Letting his breaths become steady and his mind become focused, he took up somewhat of a kick-boxing apt stance; his left leg lifted upward, his knee level with his waist, his right foot bouncing quietly off the ground. Both hands up and level with his pectorals, hooked over, though balled more than normal.

"Come on, Alex. Show me what you got." He mocked, his voice playing from the depths of his chest in a gruff manner, reminscent, of one who had abused black and milds heavily during some point in his life; in truth, fighting through the smoke had helped renew his vigor and helped increase his stamina, for when there was no smoke hindering him. "Come." He asked once more, smiling just a bit; his dreadlocks swaying softly on his back.

Alex nodded, feeling that his sentiments could be conveyed without bandying words and wasting his breath. He sprung lightly on the balls of his feet, his muscles undulating with the motion. He shook out his neck and upper body, before taking several steps forward. This movement put him roughly arms distance away from his opponent. His ire rose at his opponents mocking, a muscle in his face twitched, registering his annoyance. The marines had taught him to quash this anger, and not let it hinder his fighting prowess. He dropped his centre of gravity towards the floor by bending his knees and hunching over.

Twisting his left shoulder back, he smashed his left fist forward towards his opponents sternum. His left fist whistled through the air at considerable speed, carrying most of Alex's body weight behind it. If the punch connected, it would drive the wind from the target, and probably double him over.

Worren watched Alex cautiously; he had not had time to analyze this particular student from past bouts. All he knew was that the man was from the Marines, an elite force in the United States Military. Continuing his bouncing step, he remained wary, especially when the man came forward for a strike. Step. Step. Position had been acquired. As Alex's left shoulder pulled back, Worren came in and stepped off to the left, leaving his right arm outward. The punch sailed by, barely nicking Worren's side. Moving quickly, he attempted to lock the left arm of the man betwixt his own right arm and his side. This would leave the man's shoulder pressed against his own.

In this, Worren's left hand cocked back simultaneously, and his body lifted; hoping to put the arm in a uncomfortable position. With considerable strength, he brought his balled fist down heavily; hoping to catch the man in his jaw, with a punch that could potentially daze him and cause him to stumble. However, if the left arm was captured; he would not be able to get far, and would be set for another potentially dazing haymaker to the vulnerable jaw of a human.

Alex saw the armlock coming, feeling the pinch at Worren's arm closed around his. Perfect. Alex smiled wolfishly and twisted right, using his superior height and weight to push against his opponent. He ignored the pain as the muscles in his arm wrenched against the lock, his training kicking in. "Pain is a state of mind." He muttered as the haymaker sailed past the back of his head. He was now pressed against Worren, far too close for a punch to build up momentum. Alex took a deep breath in, arching his back and twisting against the lock.

Using what little momentum he could gather at this range, Alex slammed his forehead down on the smaller man, using his height to the advantage. The headbutt, should it connect, could easily stun a man for a few seconds at least. If the headbutt connected, Alex would swing his right knee up in a crushing arc, directed at the one chink in even the toughest man's armour. If this blow connected, it would likely put Worren on the ground.

Watching the grin that appeared on his opponents maw, he could only mentally shake his head. Arrogance, the killer of the younger generation. The punch he launched was evaded by a smart movement of twisting right; taking the head out of position. "It truly is," he replied to the mutter, making sure the man was held tight. When he moved to twist his body, Worren's right foot slid behind him, and his body moved forward, making the forehead of the man extend past his shoulder. Using his left leg for leverage, he began to twist, bring his shoulder up to slam into the face of the man, who recklessly attempted a headbutt. Should the attack land, it would sufficiently daze the man; and with the twist of Worren's hips, slam him to the ground, head, neck, or shoulders first, leaving Worren in position to further his arm bar. There was a small pain in his back, but it was easily ignorable for now. Later, however...

To further this; if the man hit the ground, Worren's left leg would snake out and lay over his neck, allowing the Teacher to pull on the student's arm with enough force to break it, if he so wished. Of course, however, this was left open to chance and whether his student was accepting of his fate.

Alex could not have anticipated the twist of Worren's shoulder, but adapted swiftly to the new situation. Despite his right upper arm being locked, he had managed to manouver a small amout as the shoulder came up, allowing him to exert pressure into the small of his opponents back. Alex feined a stumble backwards, deliberatly trying to entangle his opponents legs with his own. He coupled this with a sharp blow aimed at the small of his opponents back. Even if this blow did not have the desired effect,it would at least cause the muscles in Worren's arms to spasm, releasing him from the arm lock, and allow him to handspring out of danger.

As Alex fell towards the ground, he tried to trip his opponent, and use the momentum from the blow to the back to pull him with him. If this was successful, he could use a combination of his left arm and both legs to hurl Worren over him.

With his left leg holding strong on the ground, the chances of him falling began to diminish quickly. His frame experienced a small pain in the small of his back, but it was nothing to be alarmed about. The stumbling man attempted to trip him, but Worren held strong. The scrambling duo must have been a potential spectactle if anyone were watching the pair. Several blows hit his back, but his grip remained like that of a lock jawed dog; the man began to fall and this was when Worren struck.

His left knee rose up with explosive power, aiming for the back of Alex's neck; a potentially crippling blow. Coupled with the falling motion of the man, it would be near impossible to see and counter the preemptive strike. His body was slowly being taken off balance, as his right leg was in no position to be the 'anchor' of his proverbial ship.

Alex toppled backwards, taking the upthrust knee full in the jaw. His head snapped back, the momentum carrying him backwards at some speed. If his arm hadn't been pinned by the armlock, he would have likely been flung in an undignified heap. However, the increased momentum from the strike, combined with the weight of his now airbourne body should allow him to pull Worren to the ground. Alex's vision blurred, head spinning. He had taken a powerful hit, and would suffer for this throughout the remainder of the fight.

Of course, even if this did happen, Alex would be stunned for a few seconds, meaning any advantage (apart from the comabatents being apart) would be lost.
