Introduction
New Light City was originally created to symbolize peace and new hope. In more recent times, it has become a city run by gangs. One in particular runs the place. This is the largest gang in the city, though they do not rule by numbers alone. Most of the members train and practice on a daily basis, so they have developed into the toughest in the city. Once they decide to do a job, nothing can stop them. They have not only the toughest, but the sneakiest, the most cunning, the fastest.
But among these fighters, mean-hearted gang-members, is something else completely. She cooks and cleans for the gang, allowing them to wander about their "base" - an abandoned bulding adapted to their life-style - with ease. Most of them cannot cook, and even then they cannot cook for groups as large as their gang. Which is why she's here. She pretty much looks after the gang, tending to wounds, cleaning the place, cooking for the entire gang, and keeping the peace. She has lived here since the previous gang-leader, the father of the current one, took her from her home when she was young. She grew up living with most of the gang, and was there when the old one died. She decided not to leave, because she was taken before she could remember her family, and this was all she knew.
What I need:
leader of the gang (taken)
two close friends of the leader (one friend taken)
any other members; they can be male or female, but they are gang mamebers
enemies of the gang; individuals with a grudge, or just fighting gangs in general
people that have deals with the gangs; that buy anything the gangs steal
anyone else you can think of that might have interaction with the gang
I will be playing the girl that does the cooking and cleaning...so join up and have fun!

3) This is a modern day thing, but be realistic. Gangs cannot have things that are so bulky it is obvious they are carrying them, really.
4) Your character can die, and you can create more characters to replace them.
5) Any characters besides your first, please submit them in the OOC, and wait until I say it's okay before you put them in the rp, please.
6) No more than two characters at one time.
7) If I think if anything else, I'll add it here. So...have fun!

OOC Notes
I hurried to pull out the burgers, setting them aside. Didn't want them to burn. A lot were already on the platter, and I piled them up. Alonside the platter of burgers were a platter of hot dogs, packages of hot dog and hamburger buns, a few bottle of ketchup, a couple of mustard bottles, a bowl of relish, and packages of sliced cheese. At a glance, you would think I was cooking a meal for a party. But no, I'm not. The job for me was to provide this much food on a daily basis. Why? Well, that's what heppens when you live with a large gang. There are a lot of people here, and they get along, most of the time. Every now and then, though, I would have to break up an argument before it turned into a fight. When I didn't get there in time, we often issues with bruises and cuts.
With a little sigh, I moved all the food to the large table no one ever ate at; they always took their food and sat at one of the other tables, or on the couch, or on the floor, or went down to wherever they slept in the buildings. It used to be a hotel, a really big, fany one. But this gang has since turned it into the headquarters, kind of. It's where they eat, sleep, live, train, relax; everything. This was pretty much home to them. I finished setting all the food on the table, and dragged a couple of different kinds of sodas and, with much distaste, some of their alcoholic drinks. How they could stand that stuff was beyond me. I took a deep breath and yelled, "Dinner!" Surely the entire gang could hear me; if they were here, anyway.

Josh walked down stairs as he heard Alyssa called for dinner, "You could have asked for help." he said grabbing the burger on the plate, and taking a bite. He sat down on a chair and reached for a soda, not feeling like having any alcohol today. He took a long sip of the soda and looked at her, tilting his head. "You look tired, maybe I can help you clean things up." he suggested taking another bite of the burger. Even though the other members really didnt care about what Alyssa have to do everyday, Josh kind of felt bad for her. He finished eating, and looked at the others playing, and some just fooling around.

"Oh, no, I'm not tired," she answered with a grin. "I'm too used to this now; besides, this much work helps me fall asleep faster at night. And I still have a lot of other things to do.." She trailed off, trying to remember everything it was that she had to do. Clean the dishes, take care of any leftovers, wipe up the tables, vacuum crumbs from the couches and floor, laundry, wiping down the bathrooms...was that everything? "Yeah, I still have a lot to do. It's better to get it done tonight than let everything set there untill tomorrow." She glanced around. She reached for a soda, and went back into hte kitchen, already starting to wipe down the counters.

Josh sighed, "I hate it how you're acting like a mother." he followed her into the kitchen, and started to wash the dishes. "Well, I'm bored and have nothing else to do, so I guess I'll help you. By the way, what time do you sleep anyways? It seems like you dont even get that much sleep." He put the clean dishes on the side, stacking them up neatly. Josh was pretty used to doing the normal things, since he lived with his father who made him do everything.

"When do I sleep? ...It depends. Sometimes it'll be early, at like eight at night, though sometimes I end up going to bed closer to midnight. It really depends on how much of a mess you guys make," I explained, then moved to wipe down the stove. "And what do you mean, you hate how I'm acting like a mother? That's what I've always done. And someone has to feed you guys."

"We can feed ourselves.." I mumbled lowly. "Anyways, why are you even working here? You could have left a long time ago." he said as he finished washing the dishes. Josh turned around and leaned on the sink looking at her. "If I were you, I would have gave up a long time ago. All these work are just too much." He stretched, "What's next?" he questioned.

"Where would i go? I don't remember any family before this gang, and no one has tried to contact me. And you lot? Feed yourselves? After how many burnt meals and cases of food poisoning? Besided, it gives me something to do." I finished scrubbing the stove top and turned to dry the dishes and put them away. "What do you mean, what's next?" I was usually the only one to do any of the cleaning. Why would he suddenly help? I shook off that thought, thinking instead, people change. "It's not too much work."

"It wasnt that bad.." Josh said remembering the times we tried cooking ourselves. "Or maybe it was... bad." he said changing his mind about that. "And I guess you have a point. You sure you dont need help?" he asked looking at her. "I'm good at cleaning, and like I said before, I have nothing else to do." Josh stepped away from the sink and fixed the hood on his hoody. He stared out the window, and the sun was starting to set slowly. It was about the time when the gang usually went out. Josh was one of those few who didnt go out at night. He did sometimes, just not often.
OOC Notes
"No, I don't need help," I answered, grinning. I glanced at the window, glad that the gang was about to leave. Then most of them would be out of my way and I could finish cleaning without interruption and in peace. Wasn't that bad...? I thought, then he ammended. I stifled my laughter. That was more like it; bad. I straightened, then went out to the table, calling, "Everyone done eating? Or is someone still eating?"

Josh walked over to the couch and layed down, turning on the t.v. Everyone was starting to head out one by one, some asking him to come with them. Josh waved them off and flipped through the channels. He yawned and closed his eyes, not exactly sleeping, but more like resting. He didnt even bother turning off the t.v either. Josh covered his eyes with one of his arms, with his legs stretched out on the couch.

I continnued to clean. No one had said they were still eating. In fact, as usual, no one had answered me. That didn't bother me nearly as much as it used to. I heard the television being turned on, and people leaving. Good; peace and quiet was near. I started putting food in the fridge; lucky it was designed for a restaurant, because that meant more storage for more food. Which I needed for enough food for the gang. I would have to tell them to get more food soon; I was afraid we wouldn't have enough for dinner the next day. I finished cleaning the table, and stood behind the couch, glancing between the tv and the gang member. I grabbed the remote, turned the tv off, and said, "Move; I need to vaccum the couch."

Josh smiled, but didnt move. He liked messing around with her sometimes. He layed there not moving. Instead, Josh grabbed the remote and turned the t.v back on. He opened one eye and said, "Say please and I'll move." he had one of his silly smirks on his face that usually went on when he was bothering someone, or annoying them. He closed his eyes again waiting for her reation.

I glared at him for a while, took the remote, turned it off again, and moved it to one of the tables. i leaned over the back of th couch, and said, "Move, or I'll use the vaccum on you when I'm vacuuming the couch." I glanced around. I didn't see anyone else...and I was tired of this game. I was tired of all the games. "you'll move when I say, and on my terms. Or do you want this place to be a pigsty?"

"Ok, ok, I'll move." he said giving up and getting up from the couch. Josh leaned on the wall waiting for her to vaccum the couch already. He stared at Alyssa as she started cleaning. He shifted his weight from one leg to the other. Having nothing to do, he put on one ear phone and listened to his music, slightly tapping his feet on the floor. Josh took a look on his watch. There was still plenty of time before the others got back again. He sighed, obviously bored.
OOC Notes
Just to annoy him for annoying me, I took as much time as I possibly could, going so far as to vacuum the undersides of the cushions. He should have moved when I had asked him to, I thought. I started vacuuming the back of the couch, and glanced at him from the corner of my eye. Bored...good. He should have listened. I stood after cleaning everything possible on the couch, and dragged the vacuum away. Then I turned back to him and said, teasing, "You can have you couch now." I dragged the vaccum back to the closet I had gotten the vacuum from.

"About time," he said walking back over to the couch and laying down. Josh yawned and closed his eyes again. This time he closed his eyes to take a nap. Strangely he would take a nap after eating dinner and tend to roam around during the middle of the night. He pulled a cusion behind his head and layed his head on it, soon falling into a light sleep.

Now what... I looked around, trying again to remember what I had to do. Laundry was the first thing that came to mind, so that's what I did. I went down to the laundry room, and threw in a dark load...which seemed to be the largest load with this group. Maybe all gangs preferred sark colors...I shrugged. It didn't affect me much, really. Just what I had to see every day in the laundry. With a sigh, I walked out, still trying to remember. I walked absent-mindedly into a bathroom and started to scrub it down.

Vance walked into the building, not really in a caring mood… he had just been working the streets on a side job, with a few really young kids no more then twelve picking the pockets as he entertained them. This was properly ageist gang rules but he really didn’t care.
He walked to his room and plopped on the bed… not in the mood to see anyone… well maybe a hooker… but he was too lazy to pick up the phone.

I faintly heard someone walk in, and called out, "Back a little early, aren't we?" I didn't really bother waiting for a answer; not like I usually got one. Not like I knew who it was, either. I left the bathroom, and went right back to the laundry room, muttering to myself, "Can't even straighten out their clothes...and would you look at this! Someone left a few coins again." Whenever I found something in one of their pockets, it would usually go on top of the washer; that is, if it was something personal that they would come to claim. Any money usually went into my pocket. And most of the money that went into my pocket went to their food. So, really, they were paying for their food, despite them telling me that was my job. I wondered vaguely why they didn't ask where I got the money for their food.

Josh woke up at the sound of someone walk in. He sat up on the couch and yawned. It was a short nap, but he was still satisfy. He got up and stretched, but saw nobody. All he heard was the sound of Alyssa walking around and doing what she needed to go. Josh turned the t.v on having nothing else to do, and absent-mindedly stared at the T.V screen.

I carried a basket of clothes up the stairs, to where I normally folded them. And Josh was still there. Great. I sat on a different couch, folding the clothes and piling them beside me. I ignored him as best as I could. The tv was getting irritating, though. Finally thoroughly irritated, I said, "Isn't there anything better for you to do than watch tv? Like...I don't know, what else could you possibly do?" I tried to think. But I had been kept inside so much I didn't know what else the gang did. "Can't you find something better to do? Tv is never the best thing to do." I had wanted the tv to go off to listen to music, which I preferred. But the gang almost never listened to me. Unless I threatened them in some way, anyway. Still...I wanted my music...

Josh sighed, "And dont you have anything better to do than always complain?" he said looking at her, then back at the t.v. "Besides, if I had something to do, I wont be sitting here watching some stupid t.v show. I offered to help you clean, but you didnt want any." he looked at his watch, "Sucks for you, it's almost time for the gang to come back." Josh got up and walked into the kitchen, grabbing a can of beer. He jumped back onto the couch, opening the can and taking a sip.

I smelled the beer more than noticing it was a can of beer. I tried to ignore it... "Yes, I do have something better to do; laundry. And I am doing that. But- ah, never mind. This will go nowhere." Especially when he was about to get himself drunk. And, when the gang came back, most of them would be drunk, too. I sighed. Wonderful. There would be a lot of messes to clean up tomorrow. Well...that depended on whether or not that drunken half of the gang was drunk enough to be getting sick all over the place. I shook my head, asking myself how anyone could stand to drink any alcohol at all; the smell alone could make me sick. "Don't jump on the furniture; you'll have to replace it sooner," I said, not looking at him. Besides, now I needed to sort through the clothes; try to figure out whose was whose...and whose girl had left their clothes. I hated finding that stuff in the wash. I didn't need to know who had brought a girl home and- I averted my thoughts, still trying to sort the clothes out.

Josh took a quick look at her a grinned as he drank the beer, "Dont worry I wont get myself drunk." he said putting the finished can down. He layed down on his stomach and watched her sort out the pile of clothes. Everyone's clothing looked kind of alike, for most of them were all dark colored. He tilted his head wondering how on earth she managed to sort out all of these. Even he couldnt tell who's was what. "Do you not like being here?" Josh asked breaking the silence between them, besides the sound of the t.v. "Looks to be like you're kind of tired of doing on these works everyday." he turned around on his back, looking at the ceiling now.

"...No...it's not that I don't like being here..." ...How could I put this? No one ever really talked to me much, so talking to someone else was proving to be a little difficult. "...I guess I just get tired of only being here. Even when I need food, I hand money to someone and they get what I need. ...I think...I just might want to be able to go outside. But I understand why they don't want me outside. I mean, if I manage to get myself in trouble, who would cook for you lot?" I brushed it off. I tossed one of the smaller piles to him, which, because he was lying on his back, landed in something of a mess on top of him. "Those are yours," I said.

eh, that's ok...the general idea was for someone to be reading the posts, and to make a leader...and that's why i almost never choose to be a leader...way too much...

...no, i don't see the point in an age limit...as long as they listen to the leader...unless it is the leader...which someone else put in a character for the leader, but is refusing to budge on a few points i made, so...we'll just have to see
