Description

Age: 21

Appearance: Her hair, short and wavy is strung with beads and tightly-knotted braids which frame her round, broad-cheekboned face. Her eyes are a dark but bright and shine with a passionate intensity that lends an attractive energy to her face. Her nose is broad but straight and lies above full, expressive lips. In her youth, back in the village, very little modesty was required but of course now that she lives and works with pirates she dresses in practical canvas trousers and a loose linen shirt with a scarf woven by her own mother. In stormy weather, she wears a beaten leather tunic to protect her from the harsh bite of salt water and the howl of the wind.

Occupation: Navigator

Personality: Passionate, spontaneous, reckless, emotionally guarded, occasionally a little selfish or unthinking.

History:
A native Arawak from the island of Oualie (Nevis), Kolibri's childhood was spent in poverty, living between the minority white ruling classes; the plantation owners and aristocratic ex-pats, and the majority African slaves; mistreated and despairing. A small Arawak village nestled beneath the cliffs of White Bay was where she grew up and from which she longed to escape. Trips to neighbouring islands to trade goods and food were her only breaths of freedom. As soon as she was old enough, she ran away to join the 'Maroons'- small bands of freed or escaped slaves, natives and the white poor who lived a bandit life in the hills and raided the plantations whenever they could.
But soon, even this was not enough. Nevis had long been the centre of piracy against the French due to its strategic location in the northernmost Lesser Antilles and Kolibri took the opportunity to join a pirate crew and had never looked back.
