Hunter Specialized in Close Combat.
Ayo has a strong sense of morale, probably a result of all the injustices he saw in Mali, his homeland, when it was stormed by civil war. He frowns on killing and only does it when necessary, and can't stand the killing of innocents.
He suports the A.S.C.O. cause because there were reports of monsters being used as weapons in the civil war Ayo grew up in, and although The Board denies these ocurrances, Ayo claims to have seen these monsters wiping out villages when he was a teenager.
Another consequence of the conflict in his homeland is the absolute repulse Ayo has for firearms. He refuses to use them and has mastered several techniques to desarm his oponnent.
Although the hostile environment in which Ayo grew up in could have been a perfect excuse for creating a cold-blooded killer, Ayo is relaxed and easily cheered up. He can get very tense when someone mentions his past, but apart from that he is perfectly friendly and has a soft spot for motorcycles.
Ayo is, as mentioned before, specialized in close combat. He is a deadly hand-to-hand combatant and is able to make his environment his weapon, using everything at the reach of his hand to injure and neutralize his foe. His prefered weapon is a two-handed wood stick, that Ayo carries with him at all times. The purpose of the stick is, precisely, not to kill, but to injure or cripple.
Of course, Ayo admits that, sometimes, the only choices left are kill or be killed, specially when dealing with monsters. He also carries a sharp combat knife and a pair of short blades that can be thrown... And are deadly.
When Ayo started his A.S.C.O. training, he realized taking down monsters the size of a pick-up truck with only a wooden stick and some blades could prove to be challenging. Therefore Ayo, following advices, started carrying a short-ranged taser with enough charge in it to take down a small elephant.
Ayo Bhekizita was born in eastern Mali in 1985. He was ten years old when the civil war started, and killed his father. He fled with his mother and lived hiding from place to place, trying to escape the wave of violence that swiped the country.
When Ayo was 16, his mother died during an unusual attack; There was no sign of an army, and the village was completely destroyed. The bodies apearred to have been ripped from the inside out, and there was blood everywhere. Ayo, hiding inside the remains of a house, saw the... thing, as it feasted on the body of the men that tried to pathetically fight it. Then, from the jungle, a man wearing the republican uniform waved at the monster, and it obidiently stopped the macabre ritual and returned into the jungle... From that day on, Ayo became a bloodthirsty beast and dedicated his life in finding the man, slaying half the republican generals on his way.
But then the war ended, and even when the secret war files were cleared to the press, Ayo could not find a mention in the secret project that created a monster and used it as a weapon; Project Halakavuma, was it's name. He roamed Europe for five years, until he stumbled in an organization related to Project Halakavuma... The A.S.C.O. itself. Ayo tracked members of the Organization (and killed several of them, too), but it could not last long.
His actions came to the knowledge of a specific member of The Board... John Greenwich, the Hippie. Following his orders, A.S.C.O. agents captured the young frenzied african and held him in captivity until John could persuade the other Board memebers to take Ayo as a Hunter. At first the idea was rejected, but after some pressure Ayo was aproveed to begin hunter training, and Greenwich himslef took him as his aprenttice. During that training Ayo improved his close combat abilities and trained ranged combat with a short-ranged taser. John also taught Ayo how to control his inner self, and taught him the importance that every living thing has for Mother Earth.
By the end of that training, Ayo got very close to John, always refering to him as 'master' ( John don't estimulated Ayo to call him that way, but couldn't stop him from doing so) and became who he is now: A moralist fighter who avoids killing at all costs and is strongly determined to find traces of Project Halakavuma.
