A very long note but very relevant about Shapeshifters:

Their home planet is named Ninera and resides in the galaxy of Sorrend. They have a large colony upon their planet but their main purpose is to create peace throughout the universe. Each galaxy is assigned a shapeshifter to guard and protect it, maintaining peace throughout the inhabitants of that galaxy. Without a shapeshifter, war and chaos ensues and, as has happened occasionally, the galaxy dies and is destroyed. Peace is brought through the galaxy throgh many different ways. Each shapeshifter is assigned a tool to use by the Elders, the oldest of the shapeshifters. To name a few, there is kindness, pain, understanding, honesty, magic, war, compassion, hope and more. Then there is the one that few desire; Love.

They have the powers of shapeshifting (as is in their name) into any living thing they can imagine but they have to have seen and absorbed its life force before doing so. But they also possess a certain soul. Each soul is unique but remains within sections. There are the four most powerful, the water, earth, fire and air souls but they are rare and are not found often. The there are the sections that branch off from each of the main four such as lava, plants/nature, ice, stone, dust, metal, ores and minerals, lightening, and more. They also have branches off them such as nature has pollen, mud, thorns and forests. Then there are differing sections that include the solar (which have sun, moon, light, darkness, day, night but not much is known of these), seasonal, time and space and then the emotional sections including (but not limited to) fear all the way to joy. These emotional souls are very rare indeed and are highly prized. A few shifters have the ability to travel through parallel universes into any pace they want. There is also those who have an affinity with animals though they can be quite tame as many of a shapeshifters temperaments and actions are based on their souls.

Each shapeshifter may only have one soul to call their own but there have been a few recorded cases of the more powerful ones having two. Each soul a shapeshifter possesses gives them powers and magical energy of that kind. They are still able to use other magic but only to some degree and in training they focus on their particular magic. Depending on their soul, each shapeshifter has a true form and in which holds the source of their power. This is a weakness because as their power source is external, if they somehow get separated form it or it gets damaged they will die. These energy stores range from horns to tails and wings. The main giver of life is the heart. Their heart is not made out of flesh and blood as a normal humans is but is made of a impossibly hard substance that cannot be broken with any amount of force or pressure, only if the shapeshifter wills it. If heir heart is removed from their body for more than around ten minutes then the shapeshifter will die however they cannot be taken out by anyone except the shapeshifter the heart resides in.

Each shapeshifter has ten lives, allowing them to die ten times before truly dying. This therefore makes them immortal and ageless from the moment they become a shapeshifter. Shapeshifters are created when one severs half their heart and gives it to another. This however causes them to be weakened and half mortal for a length of time and many have died from enemies taking the opportunity to finish them whilst they have lost their immortality.

A shapeshifter is infertile and therefore cannot have children however there is the unheard of case where, during the period of time when a shapeshifters immortality is weakened through the halving of the heart that their fertility returns and allows them to have a child however this is so rare that many doubt that it ever happened in the first place. They also have the rare opportunity to find a soul mate during their lifetime. They stay together for the entirety of their eternal lives and it is said that if one dies, the others heart will break and ultimately shatter, causing hem to die as well. The soul companion is also a rare feat and is the shapeshifters constant companion and best friend. they have the ability to shapeshift but only to a few forms.

The shapeshifters govern the universe and above it all stands the ruler of the shapeshifters. It is not an inherited title but is an elected position. They are then given the title of King or Queen of Ninera and the universe. The council of elders sit closely behind and monitoring the situation, demoting the ruler if they deem them unfit. The inhabitants of Ninera are not wholly shapeshifters, in fact only one country of Ninera holds Shapeshifters as a solid community but they are dotted around the planet as they deem it. There is an academy on Ninera that trains shapeshifters to utilize their powers and extraordinary strengths for if they do not train, their powers could lose control and destroy themselves.

Some brief history explained:

Billions of years ago was a war of the shapeshifters. It caused chaos and destroyed many galaxies. the chaos caused and a lone shapeshifters heart to land on earth and lay dormant until the stone age when a young girl fleeing from her families destruction fell into its trap and turned her into a shapeshifter. Panicked and scared, she ran and found a stranger who she named Torakai(truth) and who was willing to help her control these powers. set on getting revenge, Eila tried to use these strange powers but only risked getting herself more into danger. Finding another friend, a talking wolf by the name of Tahru, she tried t understand herself and the people around her...
