Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Profession: Alchemist
Description: Melron's appearance has that distinct sense of age far beyond his years. While he could be considering in his prime, he often walks with a limp making use of a walking stick to help balance his body. He also seems to have weathered and wrinkled look that is comparable to the most eldest of people. While he could pass off for a rather unremarkable fellow he does possess a few features that make him stand. Number one being his lack of an eye. He lost his left eye some time ago and to cover the hole it left he donned a large, black eyepatch. While his defining lack of an eye is memorable, he is further identified by his trademark, raggedy brown trenchcoat. In fact his whole person screams brown, from his hair down to his boots. The only thing to offset the brown is his colorful assortment of potions he carries all about his person and the silver of his armor.
Personality: If you ever had the pleasure to speak with Melron, the first thing he would say to you is, fuck off. Yep, quite the cheery character indeed. But if you stick with it, you would meet one of the most crotchety, rude, and unpleasant individual you would ever meet. He is VERY, rough around the edges, and doesn't like social interaction. This is because he finds most people annoying, deplorable, and all round wastes of space. Not to say he hates all life, after all he does often help the sick with his concoctions. But no one said you had to LIKE all life. Always sporting a sour face, he does his best to slouch and shoulder himself inward in an attempt to tell you that this man doesn't want a thing to do with you.
Beyond his antisocial behavior, Melron has quite the mouth on him. The man constantly cusses like a sailor and hardly any of it is with humor in mind. His mouth is often rude and crude and many people are just so put of with it. Many call him downright mean and he could care less what people say. He didn't even want to speak with half of them in the first place! The problem with him is, that he doesn't keep his thoughts to himself. If something is so glaringly annoying he will speak his mind and he doesn't care whose feelings get hurt. One would find he is very opinionated, if one can stand his company longer than a few minutes. He will speak aloud his grievances and often will complain if something is particularly irritating. Often cursing the Gods for placing him in this situation to begin with. He believes the Gods have it out for him sometimes. The man is consistently unlucky and the only thing his luck excels in is his alchemy. The reason being is not based on fortune but his pure, scientific genius.
The man is very wild in his theories and brewing, but he does have a method to his madness. Of course that doesn't mean he hasn't made a few mistakes before. Many of which included explosions. But he wouldn't give it up for anything, alchemy is the one thing that truly makes him happy. Whenever he can, he sets up a lab and gets to work. He is very experimental and only sticks to true recipes for all the utility potions, one needs when out adventuring. Otherwise hes trying new and exciting combinations to see what will bond. He also takes great pride in finding and gathering materials needed for his work. He carries many scrolls and books that explain and explore ingredients and where to find them and how to procure them. The one thing he does enjoy talking about is Alchemy, that is if you can get him to speak of it. He doesn't share his information with just anyway, after all he still doesn't like the person he's with. He doesn't even like talking with colleagues, especially if they are pompous assholes, which coincidentally most people are! He often like to nitpick at other people's work and often grumbles about what he would do differently. Although his process is very wild and imperfect. Of course he likes to nitpick anyway at whatever he has an opinion on.
One of the most defining characteristics of Melron is his cynicism. While his tone is feel with grumpiness, it is also filled with a rather depressing world view. When he is not insulting you, it can become very dreary just speaking with him. Another thing he finds that turns people away. He also has a very blunt way about how he does things. But then again he is really blunt with his thoughts and feelings.
History: Melron is a man that has lived with a fair bit of tragedy in his life. Most of which made him to the cantankerous and cynical person he is today. He grew up in a standard household with the average class. His family have all been public servants like guards, carpenters, and clerics. Melron however had an interest in the science of Alchemy. With him being born with an incredible intellect, he had the ability to absorb and understand the complex sciences. His father was a man who didn't trust the practice, believing it to be close to witchcraft. It was Melron's misfortune to be born around these backwards people. They could never understand him and his way of thinking. He would leave his family behind on a bad note and entered an academy for alchemy. There he was often ridiculed for his ideas. Especially in his belief of the Philosopher's Stone, considered one Alchemist's madcap dream of the ultimate substance. Melron was not one to be tossed aside and worked tirelessly on proving that the myth is real or at least prove it can be created. He would be thrown out of the Alchemist Society and forced to continue his research without Academy Funding. His dream to prove something real has made it's toll on him, often in the form of physical injury. More disregarded as a mad scientist, Melron continues to prove that nothing is impossible.
Inventory/Equipment: A large back pack filled with various items. These include a tent, a bedroll, flint and steel, pliers, vials of many shapes and sizes, small knife, bowl and stick, miniature brewery, other alchemical supplies. He wears his rather ragged clothes but with a suit of plate armor underneath. A walking stick and a Dagger, and a pendant on a chain.
Special Traits: Besides being a talented Alchemist, there really isn't anything particularly outstanding about him. He is well educated and intelligent despite being rather eccentric.
