Introduction

In this world, there are three levels. The land of the living and the land of the dead are ones commonly known by most. However, there also exists a world called by the common name of Crossroads. Existing in the living world, Crossroads represents the origin of everything deemed supernatural or not quite dead yet. In this world exists the Merchants. While typically labeled the Merchants of Death, they are more like the Merchants of Life. When someone dies in a regretful and, for lack of a better word, unfair manner The merchant meets them within Crossroads. He offers them a choice, work for him and win your life back, or continue on your journey of fate. Those who accept sign a contract with the Merchant, becoming what they have decided to call, Dealers. Dealers are undead humans who were given a second chance with restrictions. In Empire City the dealer, Loki, makes the rules. Dealers are not allowed to leave the city and must do various jobs in order to earn their life back. Some jobs can be as complicated as killing a vampire, while others involve doing Loki's laundry.

The Dealers aren't at a completely hopeless situation, as it is Merchant Code to allow the Dealer one ability. The ability along with their impressive regenerative capabilities make any Dealer a force to be reckoned with. You servitude to Loki also reflects your time on Earth. Some can be a Dealer for a few years while others a century. They do not age and once the Contracts fulfilled they begin to age at a normal rate, making the idea of being Loki's underling quite appealing.

The general plot is day to day life and missions of the Dealers. It will culminate in a larger plot, but give it time first. The main setting is the A.N.G. Office in Downtown Empire City. It's a one room office on top of a laundromat.

GM EDIT NOTE: Dealers don't only hunt supernatural enemies, but ones like themselves. Often referred to as lost souls, they are owns who escaped the Crossroads and now wander as Husks. As soon as a Dealer kills one they are sent to the World of the Dead. Husks often appear as they did when they were alive. Except they tend to have strange features; glowing red eyes, falling out hair, missing teeth, slightly decomposed skin, are often traits of a husk. They have as good of Regenerative abilities as a Dealer, but only have their bodies to fight with.

# A.N.G. Office, 2010-05-29 23:13:52, as written by Lycos
Loki sat at his desk, his feet propped up and his head hanging back. He was half asleep, another day of nothing much to do. A large thud was heard on the desk, shocking Loki enough to sit straight up. Wendy had dropped a stack of folders on the desk and looked at Loki in an apologetic manor. "Sorry, sir." Loki took a heavy sigh and waved his hand, Wendy going back to her desk in the corner of the room. Loki shuffled through the stack of folders, each having different jobs available. After getting the general idea of each job he sat them on the corner of the desk and patiently waited for the Dealers to arrive.

______________

Zess leaned against his motorcycle, taking a puff on a cigarette outside the A.N.G. office. Loki didn't tolerate smoking in there so he had to feed his habit outside. A women walking by stopped and looked at Zess with her head held high. "That can kill you." Zess smiled and took one more hit before throwing it to the ground and stomping it out. "Not in thirty years it hasn't." He walked past the women and down the alley to the stairs of A.N.G. It was a small office on top of a laundromat, not even having street visible stairs to get up to it. To enter you had to go around back. He went up the stairs and to the large wooden door of A.N.G. with the words "Thead's Bail Bonds" engraved on it. He opened it and immediately saw Loki sitting calmly behind his desk. Zess walked over to the couch between Loki's desk and Wendy's desk, laying down on it.

"So this is the place." Nick said looking at a little piece of yellow paper. He walked threw the door and instantly felt strange. Nick pressed on and walked up the stairs to a little wood door and saw a very young women, well not as young as him but young to be a secretary. "Hey, I am looking for a Mr.Loki." Nick asked the girl.

Bone entered the office passing everyone he let himself in he lifted up his head his eyes looked like he usually looked when he wanted to kill something "Loki please tell me you have something for me to kill i need to kill please have me kill." He looked as if he was having a drawback from any drug and that he needed to feed his addiction like a druggie but he was different his drug is to kill he scratched his head and started to play with his bandaged arms. He calmed down and showed his normal self but the merchant knew him to well he knew that inside Bone was screaming wanting to feed his deep thirst."

The roar of a tuned engine underscored the harsh yet melodic overtones of a heavy metal song as Kazuki Shiroyama drove towards the heart of Empire City as far as Dealers were concerned. One time assassin with a moral quandary Kazuki was now something else entirely, something not human at all. No human could take a yard of steel through their chest and fight on as if nothing happen. No human could control time itself with but a mere thought altering it's flow for his benefit. He was a Dealer a person who having died in a manner declared unfair by some yet unseen divine being was offered the chance at a so called second life by a Merchant. Merchants, those all powerful beings who could do almost anything it seems, albeit at the price of signing on the dotted line.

His contract belonged to a man named Loki, although like him Loki was nowhere near being even remotely human. After all he had endowed him and all Dealers who's contracts he held with powers most couldn't even imagine. But the man as it where was in Kazuki's mind in serious need of organization and goal setting skills. As he seemed absentminded at the best of times but sometimes the assassin was convinced it was all an act put on for their benefit. But then again Kazuki himself seemed lost in thought as he tired to figure out why he had signed on the dotted line to begin with.

Sometimes he thought it was out of a fear of dying. After all every man, women, and child feared death no matter what some said, no matter their brave words all feared the darkness of death for none truly knew what lay on the other side of the veil of reality and life. And what is unknown will always frighten even the bravest man. But fear of death couldn't his driving motivation, sometimes he considered a desire for revenge. But despite the manner of his death Kazuki discredited that as well. For even against his father who had ended his life the assassin could feel no true anger. The man was insane, deluded by a life time of living under the 'Servants of Divine Justice' as the religious sect liked to call themselves. And it was not like his hands were free of the blood that stained his fathers. No he could not find true anger against the man or even the 'Servants of Divine Justice'.

Perhaps it the desire to take up the old mantle of assassin for God. But that reason went against his dream. He wanted to leave that life behind him, wanted to live life free on his own terms without bloodshed and battle. Without lurking in the shadows unseen and unheard until the moment arrived when Death reared it's ugly head.

But instead of at least dying on his own terms he ended up living even his undead existence under the rule of another. His obedience subtly demanded from him by the man who held his contract. Kazuki had wondered often what would happen if he just up and left. Just refused to obey and left Empire City and Loki, all of it behind. However the little intel he was able to gather on the subject without asking Loki himself painted a grim picture. And while he no longer feared a second death he feared dying without his question of life answered.

Lost in thought he just noticed the sign that marked out A.N.G office and the laundromat it sat on top of. Pulling over to the side he parked his car in front of the two story building. Getting out he locked the door of his car before looking at it. It was an exact replica of the Orange Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR he drove when he still numbered among the truly human and living. Just like this city seemed an exact replica of a city of humanity. Complete with people going about normal human routines. It even had places of business, stores to buy things, theaters to see movies, even parks to walk through. All of it often convinced the new Dealers that they hadn't actually died, that the whole crossroads things was some sort of nightmare brought on by post traumatic stress disorder. Those type of people learned quick however.

As far as Kakuki was concerned it was utter bullshit. He still hadn't figured out why the creators of Empire city had gone to such lengths to sell the illusion of normality. Did it's creators envy the world of humanity, they must for imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But it was all still bullshit to the assassin who still dreams about peace when the nightmares of his life among the living aren't haunting him.Deciding to enter the A.N.G office he took note of the motorcycle parked nearby, another dealer had arrived before him.

Walking around to the back of the laundromat Kazuki opened the alley entrance door and walked up the subsequent stairs to the large wooden door with ' Thead's Bail Bonds' engrraved on it. Once again the utter bullshit of this world made itself known. This time however the assassin paid it no attention. Pushing open the door he caught the tail end of someone being begging for an order to kill.

Such insane and blood drunk speech could only come from the Dealer who called himself bone. Personally he found the man appalling, he was the kind of scum he had hunted while still alive. But in this land of dead mean Kazuki saw little point in worrying about the likes of Bone. And to the right of the blood drunk monster was a man who lay on the couch between Loki and his assistant's desk a young looking girl named Wendy. But in this land of ageless dead men Wendy could be 20,000 years old for all the assassin knew. The man who lay on the couch was a Dealer known as Zess who spoke little about himself but who would go on and on about the stupidest things. This Dealer was a Joker, and a joke as well to the serious minded assassin.

Standing near the door in silence the assassin waited for a order from the Merchant who held his contract.

Noble strode down the sidewalk, heading for the laundromat that concealed the A.N.G. office. His boots hit the pavement with a sound barely above a whisper. His leather coat flapping in the slight breeze. The brim of his hat pulled low over his face. The cold steel of his revolvers glinting in the pale light. Once, someone told him he looked as if he had stepped directly out of a Western. Noble didn't care.

He walked into the dark, grimy alley, and pushed the back door open. He walked up the flight of wooden stares, just as he had the hundreds of times before. He approached the wooden door, the engraved "Thead's Bail Bonds" still the same. The same secretary sat behind the desk. "Hello, Mr. Noble. You can just go inside." He nodded and opened the door. There were four other Dealers there. Three he knew about, but the kid was new. Noble let the door close behind him, and walked across the room. He sat down in a white armchair and waited for Loki to hand out the assignments.

Nick saw a man walk in and then another and another. He didn't pay much attention to them he was paying to much attention to a small penny. Nick was swirling his hand over it and changed the face from Abraham Lincoln to Babe Ruth. He laughed and laughed because he knew that this penny was worth thousands of dollars now. He held the penny out to the man that just walked in and asked him," Do you want this penny?"

John Noble sat in the lounge chair, waiting for the Merchant to give him his assignment. The new kid leaned over and offered John a penny. John took it and let out a gruff "Thanks". He looked at the penny for no particular reason. Then he noticed the head. Abraham Lincoln had changed into Babe Ruth. John looked over at the boy. "Nice trick, kid." John held his hand out, palm up. the penny began to hover 5 inches over his hand, slowly revolving. The coin dropped into John's hand. He put the coin into a pocket on his coat. "Name's John Noble. How long you been a Dealer?"

He was surprised by his question. Why would someone want to talk to a kid like me? He thought to himself. "A few weeks. This is supposed to be my first job, but everyone has been cutting me in line to see Loki." Nick said with a long sad sigh. "Hey what are your powers?" He asked with a large smile on his face trying to forget how rude everyone was being.

The kid asked him about his power. "I have Telekenisis, the ability to control objects with my mind. Pretty useful in some situations." Noble leaned back in his chair. "And kid, don't worry about other Dealers trying to be faster than you. You're going to work for Loki for a long time. What is a few minutes in the grand scheme of things. The sooner Dealers realize that, the better. The rushing around irritates me to." John pulled his hat down over his eyes. A quick nap couldn't hurt.

Loki stood up and grabbed the folders. "Good your all here." He looked at the kid who had just made a contract with recently. "I see you have made friends with our resident cowboy, that's good." He dropped the the folder on Noble's lap. "You can take the kid with you, don't worry your pay for the job won't be deducted. Your going after a few lost souls who have been running wild at a local theme park. You'll likely run into Reaper so be on the look out." He pushed his glasses up with his finger and turned to Bones. "A vampires nest was found by Wendy near the edge of Empire. It will probably get messy so you can have it." He handed the folder to Bone. Each folder had locations and how much they would receive for the job. The amount received was the same for each job but varied by week. All the jobs would yield the same this week, but next week the reward would likely be different. Loki turned to Kazuki with the last two folders. "I got a demon in the Capital Building and a Lost soul grade B at the Church on first street." A grade B lost soul was equal to around three or four of the regular ones (Grade C). They didn't group together like Grade C's though. The Capital Building was a large 90 story building in the center of Empire City and the church on First Street was more like a Cathedral. "So which is it?" After Kazuki he dropped the remaining one on the chest of Zess, going back to his desk and sitting down. "If you want you can help others after you've completed yours. You won't be paid for it, but whatever. I suggest you all get going."

The corner of Noble's mouth twitched at Loki's "Resident Cowboy" joke. He vfelt the folder fall into his lap, and slowly lifted the brim of his hat. He opened the folder. "Hmm... 6 Lost Souls At the Happy Trails Theme Park. Loki, did you purposely give me the Western themed park?" Noble looked at the boy next to him. "Well, looks like you and me are paired together. A few Lost Souls: a good way to get your career started. Come on." Noble stood up and straightened out his overcoat. He rested one of his hands on the butt of one of his revolvers. "Hoping you don't mind walking, Kid. Never did like cars." The two left the building and began to walk east, in the direction of the theme park. He looked at the boy next to him. "Hey kid, I never caught your name."

Bone only glanced at the folder then he bowed and went off. He made his way to the nest once he got there he ripped out his spine and it pulled out like at scythe he felt the time of pain then he used the blade to cut his wrist so he can use the blood and to lure all the vampires to him. He entered the nest and he found the young lings first they were easy he plashed his blood on them and then he manually used the blood to blind them he swung his scythe and chopped off their head the blood splashing on the floor. He moved deeper into the nest and found more of them and he swung it and the bones were met with metal pipes. This made Bone happy a minor challenge that they gave him. He threw the scythe at one of the vampires and it turned the ones in its way into half bodies blood on his face and he was bare handed he knew that he would half to get close to with a quick movement he plunged his hand into one of the beasts chest and ripped out organs that were useless but the one he was aiming for was the dead heart their the heart kept any blood it had as soon as he squeezed that the other vampires came after the great smell of blood the one that he got his hand in. He watched them tear each other apart and to join in he quickly used his forearm bones for a arm blade he cut and slashed the vampires till none of them were left. After he was done he knew their were only the leader the one who made all these vampires and the ones who guarded him the guards would be no problem but the leader has special powers that could tear people like him to shreds. He first checked on damage he had lots of damage he moved his way along focusing his blood to healing then blocking. He found a door way that looked like the leader would stay their he kicked the door open and he was met by vampires that clawed at him and tore and drank the blood around him. Bone without much to do he thought to himselfI'm going to have to buy new shirt, vest and sweatshirt after this good thing pays good. He concentrated and then his bones from every part of his upper chest lunged its self into the vampires. He looked as they fell off and turned to dust he made a noise and looked at the leader who was sitting on a plush chair "Very old guys to keep around don't you agree?" He didn't get an answer but he did see a sliver dash and the vampire disappeared and then reappeared right behind him Bone was going to turn but then blood sprayed from his left side. He fell down and was on the floor barely breathing he heard footsteps coming his way he closed his eyes. He felt ten more slashed and cuts some of them on his face and chest his blood dulled the real impact so it wouldn't go deep he felt the vampire knell down to bite him but before the vampires teeth touched him he extended his neck bone and the bone went right through the vampires skull and then it retracted to his neck. Just to be sure Bone chopped the head off and put it in a bag. He stood up and left he was limping badly his blood pouring out slowly. This was good he needed to lose blood he entered the Office again and put the bag right next to him he was covered in blood and he was bleeding as well but he had a smile like when a kid just played a new game that he liked "That was fun the leader was fast and strong but not as bright as people gave him credit for and look my stuff is ruined". He was always in a good mood after he killed that was just him he took off his bloody upper clothes and his chest was covered with cuts bites claw marks that went deep he was a mess.

(sorry if its long and don't respond to it yet this would be as soon as the other two either get to the place or when their done with the mission oh and funny link to make others laugh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpQ75PuI ... re=channel

Kazuki considered the others in the office, Bone a cutter's dream come true. The man had a reason to slit his wrists at least that is what he would say. Frankly the assassin thought it more of the bullshit that was piled high in this land of dead men walking. He too could bleed like a stuck pig and suffer little ill effect from it. Next was the joker Zess who couldn't be bothered with taking anything seriously. Then there was the cowboy who was a long way from the set of whatever western movie he died on. Sometimes Kazuki thought the man went out of his way to play the stereotypical cowboy. Even going as far to have period correct clothing made, not to mention those ancient six shooters of his. The man was an expert gunslinger to be fair but then again you would have to be to hit anything with those cast iron joke of a pair of guns. And last but not least was a man who was obviously new as he complained about the rudeness of the Dealers around him. The kid had a lot to learn, it was like he thought he was entitled to special treatment merely because he signed the contract. Hell even Noble didn't demand special treatment and he was the oldest dealer of this group.

But passive observation aside the assassin snapped to attention as Loki began handing out assignments their nature varying although they all paid the same. Something Kazuki found odd as taking on a vampire's nest or demon was of a vastly increased difficulty compared to dealing with a few Lost souls. Even having to deal with the foul mouthed Reaper didn't seem to make taking on some Lost Souls equal to a Demon or Vampire's Nest. However the assassin said nothing, he was not one to bring such a petty complaint to light. As even he knew it was pointless, unlike the new kid it seemed.

When Loki asked which assignment he would prefer the assassin had made his mind up. Dealing with lost souls was pointless in his mind, after all Reaper seemed to being doing just fine on his own. Why waste time doing someone else's work he always thought. " I guess I'll take the demon then." Was all Kazuki said by way of reply to the Merchant's question before picking up the folder rapidly skimming through it's contents as he walked out of the office and down the stairs.

Getting to his car the assassin started it throwing it into first as he sped down the street at a speed that would have seen his living self promptly pulled over. But in this mockery of a human city Kazuki seemed free to do just about anything expect leave it. The roar of the engine once more underscored the heavy metal he preferred as he drove weaving down the roads towards the geographically center of the center, the so called Capital Building, it was the tallest pile of bullshit in this city as far as the assassin was concerned.

At the speed he was driving it was not long before the 90 story building was looming over him. Given this was now the haunt of a demon he found it odd there was little property damage. Most of the hell spawn made a mess when they showed up. And aside from a few flipped over cars and a blasted doorway there was little to state a Demon had been running amok. Even the usual telltale blood stains where absent and while the air was heavy with the stench the hell spawn usually brought with them it was if nothing happened or had already ended.

" interesting, not usual Demonic behavior." He spoke to himself as he walked into the building's grand entrance. A marble and steel testimony to the bullshit this building represented. Here were a few tossed about chairs but still no actual signs of battle. At the end of the entrance was two stainless steel doors marking the elevators. Calling one he waited while the it came, the tension of the moment seemingly low. Even the lights and elevators still worked for Christs sakes He thought with some annoyance as the door in front of him slid open revealing the steel cube that was the elevator's box. Pressing the rooftop floor button he stood in silence as the usual crappy elevator music started playing. Some sweet as syrup track that was an insult to music in this assassin's mind.

The mirrored insides of the elevator threw back only his image for the longest time as the elevator rode up to it's destination. But for a split second a shadowy image appeared next to his own in the mirrored sides. Trying to play mind games with a Dealer, these Demons need to learn some new tricks already. He mused the thought not breaking that neutral mask he wore so well. But the assassin nonetheless was not going to fall into underestimating his enemy just yet or anytime soon for that matter. The elevator finally reached the rooftop floor, a relief for this assassin as it meant he wouldn't have to listen to the crappy music coming out of it's speakers.

A short walk down a hallway with six doors on each side and through a maintenance door Kazuki was staring out onto the actual roof itself.

" You are brave to come alone Dealer. I have already defeated and absorbed so many it's a wonder any have the courage to stand against me." A female voice said behind him it's tones dripping with sin and sex appeal.

" I'll admit you almost got me with the crappy music Demon." The assassin answered with a flat matter of fact tone as the Demon launched it's attack. A spear thrust it self through the Dealer's back then sent him flying nearly throwing him off the rooftop.

Getting Back up as the wound healed rapidly Kazuki took his opponent in. It was a female type demon armed with a wicked looking spear. Judging from the speed and ease at which she had gotten behind him coupled with the fact she spoke of absorbing suddenly explained the lack of overall damage and bodies to the assassin. Furthermore the charm she had tried to seduce him with answered why there was no blood. While it didn't work on him it had on others. All and all it looked like a tough fight for this assassin use to being the one striking from behind.

Not wasting time with anymore words Kazuki launched his own attack. Focusing on the core of his being he tapped into his so called gift. And suddenly time came to a stop for him the Demon standing still while he moved faster. Kicking the spear out of the she-demon's grasp he took it into his own hands. Spinning it smoothly around he drove the point into the Demon's heart before jumping back and drawing his pistol out. Deactivating the altered flow of time he and the demon returned to normal time.

The she-demon was suddenly gasping for air as it noticed it's own spear was thrust clean through it's heart. Looking up with a baleful glare the last thing it knew was the pain of 20 9mm rounds ending it's life. Kazuki for his part fell to his kness breathing heavily as if he had run a 20 kilometer marathon. Using his so called gift was exhausting. And minor wounds scored his body the greatest mystery to him. Why did using his power cause him damage.

Getting back up on shaky legs he walked back to the elevator and hit the button for the entrance floor. This assignment was over but there where always other ones. After all the debt he owed to Loki seemed high, the Merchant charged a lot for this second life. " At least I don't have to wash the asshole's laundry today." He said to his reflection in the mirrored sides of the elevator.

"My name is Nick Raster." Nick said with his hands behind his head. "Man this is kinda slow." Jaden said before he molded his feet into roller blades. He skated next to his partner. "Hey is that the theme park?" Nick asked as he pointed to an old rotten sign. He skated past the broken down entrance and saw what looked like a man with wings holding some sort of weapon. "So your the new Dealer, how pathetic!" He said right before laughing. "So I guess it is safe to guess your the over-glorified delivery boy, Reaper!" Nick taunted back. "You little twerp!" He said furious. "Nobel you find the lost souls and I will handle this loser!" Nick told Noble.

Noble nodded and walked by the two into the theme park. The place was run down, obviously abandoned. A Lost Souls dream hideout. Noble drew his two revolvers and walked into the middle of the food court. He scanned the area, letting his eyes adjust to the dark. He saw a human standing in between two food stands. But it wasn't human. it had glowing red eyes and It's skin looked as if it was rotting off. It let out a yell and Noble watched as five other Lost Souls emerged from the dark. Noble raised his guns. The creatures all converged on him at once. Noble leveled his guns and began firing. The bullets were crashing into the bodies of the Lost Souls, blowing off limbs and creating basebnall-sized holes in the creatures. That was the advantage of his six-shooters. They were old, but they hit harder than the modern pistol. Another two rounds flew into the body of another Lost Soul. In mere seconds, the six Lost souls were dead.

"That was two easy." Noble looked around again. "Loki would never give me a job this easy. Unless..." Noble quickly opened the breaches on his revolvers and began sliding rounds into the empty chambers. The metal was hot, burning Nobles thumbs as he put new slugs into the weapon. ignoring the pain, he snapped the guns closed again. There had to be more to this job than these six Lost Souls. He continued to walk through the park, looking for anything out of the ordinary. He finally approached the haunted house. If anything was going to be here, it was inside of that house. "I should go check on Nick first." Noble turned around and began walking back to the park's entrance.

"So you little twerp what is your pathetic power, Baking!" He laughed. "That was lame." Nick told him. "You little!" He said lunging his scythe at Nick. "Hold on one minute, what about Loki?" Nick reminded him. Reaper stopped dead in his tracks. "Fine then we will have a duel of skill!" Reaper said before summoning a few demons for them to attack. "Sweet!" Nick yelled before transforming his arms into large spikes. His shirt ripped from the back and large metal wings sprouted. "One.. Two.. Three.. Four.. Five.. Six!" Nick counted his kills. "Eight kills, you lose!" Reaper bragged. "Noble did you get the souls? Wow Reaper I thought you wouldn't fall for a distraction!" Nick laughed. "You tricked me you little!" He sighed and disappeared. "Lets get these souls back to Loki." He said to Noble.

"Not yet, Kid. There is something wrong about this job. it was too easy." Noble looked back into the park. "There is a haunted house that i don't remember ever being in the park. I believe we should go search it." Noble turned around and Strode back into the theme park, heading for the haunted house. "Nick, don't you think it strange there is a Gothic-styled haunted house in a Western-themed park?" They walked for about five minutes until they saw the looming shape of the haunted house. There was a dark aura about the place. It seemed as if all light around the building had been absorbed, leaving only the oppressing black of the night. There was definitely something wrong inside. When they got to the front doors, Noble drew his guns. Now, I have no idea what will be in there, so keep your guard up."

"Yeah that is really strange." Nick said. He reformed his left arm into a huge metal shield and his right arm into a giant spike. "Well what do you want to do?" He asked a little afraid. They stepped on the property and instantly Nick felt a strange aura. "What is this place?" He said somewhat shaking.

"I don't know what it is." Noble took a step back, and gave the door a powerful kick. It flew off of it's hinges and thudded down somewhere inside. Noble and Raster walked inside. "Kid, go and check the first floor, and I'll get the second floor." Noble approached the stairs. They were made of old wood, and didn't reallt look to be in the best shape. He slowly walked up the stairs, listening for any sound besides the squeaking boards uder his feet. The house felt oppressive, like it was going to swallow him whole. He knew that there was something here. "Loki, I hate when you don't tell me everything." The dark presence in the house was everywhere. whatever was here, must of been immensely strong. Noble realized he and the kid couldn't take it on by himself. Noble yelled for Nick."Kid! Get out of the house. We are going back to Loki and ask him what the hell this this is!" Noble went back downstairs. "Kid? Where are you?"

Nick screamed in pain and walked out to the stair case with a knife in his chest. The metal was absorbed into his body and the handle fell to the ground. "OK I maybe be made of metal but that still hurts like crazy!" He yelled as Mercury dripped from where he was stabbed. "That knife was randomly floating and it stabbed me!" He said rubbing the Mercury off his shirt.

"We are getting out of here. This was not part of the deal." Noble turned around and reached for the doorknob. "leaving so soon? You just arrived." Noble turned around and saw a man standing there, wearing a grey Victorian suit. The man was deathly pale, and his eyes were blood red. Noble faced the man, his hand on one of his holstered guns. "Well, it's past the kid's bedtime. But trust me, I'll come back really soon." In a blur, Noble drew his gun and fired. The bullet slammed into the stranger's head. It blew a baseball-sized hole in the center of the man's head. "Tsk, Tsk. Noble, you should know better than that." The man's head started to stitch back together, and within seconds, his face was whole again. "Go back to your master, Loki. Tell him that Glasya Labolas has sent you." The door behind them slammed open, and Noble and Raster were bodily thrown from the house. Noble picked himself up. "Well, that was something else." Noble helped Raster off the ground."Let us go and tell Loki the news."

Zess sat up and only looked at the location in the folder. Everyone else had left already to deal with their jobs, but Zess was always the last one to leave usually. "Hey, why does Kazuki get paid the same as me and have a harder job." He looked over to Loki, who didn't even look up from his paper work. "He chose the job. Plus, since I hand out the job's, the idea of others risking more is better than others bitching about the pay for their job." Zess laughed to himself a little and threw the folder down on the table. Mumbling to himself, "You cheap old bastard." He left the office and made his way back to his bike. Revving the engine and adjusting his eye patch, he released the brake and took off down the road. He arrived at the local park, Griffin's Park. It was a huge place. Zess entered through the nearest walk way and began scanning the area lazily. Eventually arriving in the parks center, he closed his right eye and took a deep breath. "Gonna keep following me?" The Lost Soul appeared, its body slivering on the ground. Level B lost soul's tended to have these types of body structures. Reflecting their personalities usually. This one had the lower body of a snake and its face looked hybrid in nature. Zess drew his sword and flipped it to where the blunt of the hilt faced the Lost Soul. It came charging at him, slashing wildly. Zess removed his eye patch for a brief second, a red light flashing out of it, blinding the lost soul. Zess used the opportunity to bring his sword up and through the lost soul, cutting it diagonally. The body fell to the ground and disappearing into ash. "Finally going there, huh? Maybe I'll see you in a few." He sheathed his sword and left the Park.

Wendy walked over to Loki's desk, grabbing a piece of paper off it. "Strange, I remember this being in Mr. Noble's folder." Loki put down his pen and leaned back. "He wouldn't have taken the kid if he knew what the real job was. Honestly, I don't know what's there, but at least I can trust Mr. Noble to tell me. Knowing Zess or Kazuki, they'd probably just kill the thing and call it a day without thinking twice about it." Loki raised his hand, a light being visible through the dark blue glove. "I see Mr. Shrioyama has completed his job. Get a clean up crew to the building." Loki had sealed off the area once he learned the news of the demon, only allowing half a dozen or so be killed by it. While the dealers would have been able to see the effects of the demon, everyone else would see a normal building, even going about their daily routines inside of it. Rather than coming up with a long unbearable explanation, Loki rewrote the event to be more believable. One of the victims was a janitor, making him to be a crazed killer with a shotgun made the most sense. It wasn't exactly hard work for Loki, but the fact that they were so bold as to attack the Capital Building when usually they prefer the shady less attention grabbing areas worried him.

Zess entered the office being the first one back which was to be expected as his job was the easiest. "It managed to get three people." Wendy made a note of the victims and went back to her work. Bone came barreling in, holding a bag. Loki went back to his work as Bone talked. "That's good to hear. Well, unlike Zess you managed to make it in time before the vampires began hunting." Loki closed his book and stood up, walking along the wall to find where it belonged. The books that surrounded the office were strange. None had titles or author names on them and when you tried to pull them out they wouldn't budge, more than likely Loki's doing.

Bone gave a faint smile as he heard his completed time frame "Ya it's no big deal I'm just glad the thirst for killing was satisfied if it was just the leader i would still be hungry." His wounds were sealed up and he moved around he used his power to lift up his blood and he pulled out a few gallon jugs and the blood filled each one up he capped them and placed them in his bag he took off his sweat shirt and then the rest and threw them in a large garbage bin. "Good thing they didn't go for my legs i would probably make Wendy blush am i right Wendy?" He gave a warming smile you wouldn't have guessed it was Bone if they met him for his first time. He seemed happy and cheerful and like he didn't care that he was dead trying to earn his life back.

(I changed his personality a bit so it would be a bit more bizarre so you know im not going against the personality)

Loki was right when he said the assassin would merely kill his target and not think twice about it. It was a mindset he had adopted when the slaying of the wicked began to effect him. When his human mind began to succumb to the temptations of blood lust and the horrors of battle. He was a killer but he was no monster. He distanced himself from the act of killing by not lingering over it. And it worked very well although perhaps it was a tad unhealthy mentally this emotional suppressing of his memories concerning the lives he had taken. But at least it kept him semi-sane although the thoughts were still there in the back of his mind as evident by the nightmares that plagued him in his sleep.

But right now he was sitting behind the wheel of his car speeding down the rode as if being chased, The lyrics of Filter's Hey man Nice shot the background theme for his drive. His mother once asked Kazuki why he drove so fast the assassin merely answered that it helped him leave 'it all behind'. It was answer that must of displeased her for she never brought up the topic again.

"You'd fight and you were right
But they were just too strong
They'd stick it in your face
And let you smell what they consider wrong
That's why i say hey man nice shot, nice shot
"

He had enjoyed the song even before his death but now as for all intents and purposes some sort of undead agent for a Merchant they rang with a particular truth. But with his mindset of not looking back he soon ignored their meaning and simply enjoyed the song. shifting down in first as the street the A.N.G office was pulled onto Kazuki slowly pulled over into a parking spot and killed the engine. Getting out of the car he threw off his ripped jacket and shirt now sporting blood stains and sizable holes from where the demon's spear thrust through. He then began a slow walk towards the alley where the back door of the laundromat was located. He was still drained from the use of his power.

Climbing up the stairs with a slightly heavy breath the assassin once more pushed open the door to be met with the sights of the other dealers who had made it before him. He paid them scant attention although his eye for detail noticed several things, such as the bloody sack Bone held. Honestly the man needed to learn such grisly trophies were not needed. Loki seemed to have a unnatural ability to know exactly what happened on a second to second basis in Empire city.

Falling into chair set in front of Loki's desk the assassin waited for either a debrief, a dismissal,or another assignment. Though he knew another assignment would be have to be done with the benefit of his quicksilver gift as he simply didn't have the strength left to summon it again so soon. However given some rest his regenerative abilities would replenish the spiritual energy that powered Quicksilver.

Despite himself Kazuki was reviewing the battle over. While it was a standard fight as far as fighting demons go it's location was not. Most hell spawn seem to forsake the heavily visible areas like the Capital building. No doubt the Merchant was thinking the same thing, then again the assassin could care less. After all it didn't matter the ground the fight took on but the combatants involved. And killing a demon on top of a 90 story building was no different then killing on in some run down back alley in the slums.
