Introduction
The Dealers aren't at a completely hopeless situation, as it is Merchant Code to allow the Dealer one ability. The ability along with their impressive regenerative capabilities make any Dealer a force to be reckoned with. You servitude to Loki also reflects your time on Earth. Some can be a Dealer for a few years while others a century. They do not age and once the Contracts fulfilled they begin to age at a normal rate, making the idea of being Loki's underling quite appealing.
The general plot is day to day life and missions of the Dealers. It will culminate in a larger plot, but give it time first. The main setting is the A.N.G. Office in Downtown Empire City. It's a one room office on top of a laundromat.
GM EDIT NOTE: Dealers don't only hunt supernatural enemies, but ones like themselves. Often referred to as lost souls, they are owns who escaped the Crossroads and now wander as Husks. As soon as a Dealer kills one they are sent to the World of the Dead. Husks often appear as they did when they were alive. Except they tend to have strange features; glowing red eyes, falling out hair, missing teeth, slightly decomposed skin, are often traits of a husk. They have as good of Regenerative abilities as a Dealer, but only have their bodies to fight with.

______________
Zess leaned against his motorcycle, taking a puff on a cigarette outside the A.N.G. office. Loki didn't tolerate smoking in there so he had to feed his habit outside. A women walking by stopped and looked at Zess with her head held high. "That can kill you." Zess smiled and took one more hit before throwing it to the ground and stomping it out. "Not in thirty years it hasn't." He walked past the women and down the alley to the stairs of A.N.G. It was a small office on top of a laundromat, not even having street visible stairs to get up to it. To enter you had to go around back. He went up the stairs and to the large wooden door of A.N.G. with the words "Thead's Bail Bonds" engraved on it. He opened it and immediately saw Loki sitting calmly behind his desk. Zess walked over to the couch between Loki's desk and Wendy's desk, laying down on it.

His contract belonged to a man named Loki, although like him Loki was nowhere near being even remotely human. After all he had endowed him and all Dealers who's contracts he held with powers most couldn't even imagine. But the man as it where was in Kazuki's mind in serious need of organization and goal setting skills. As he seemed absentminded at the best of times but sometimes the assassin was convinced it was all an act put on for their benefit. But then again Kazuki himself seemed lost in thought as he tired to figure out why he had signed on the dotted line to begin with.
Sometimes he thought it was out of a fear of dying. After all every man, women, and child feared death no matter what some said, no matter their brave words all feared the darkness of death for none truly knew what lay on the other side of the veil of reality and life. And what is unknown will always frighten even the bravest man. But fear of death couldn't his driving motivation, sometimes he considered a desire for revenge. But despite the manner of his death Kazuki discredited that as well. For even against his father who had ended his life the assassin could feel no true anger. The man was insane, deluded by a life time of living under the 'Servants of Divine Justice' as the religious sect liked to call themselves. And it was not like his hands were free of the blood that stained his fathers. No he could not find true anger against the man or even the 'Servants of Divine Justice'.
Perhaps it the desire to take up the old mantle of assassin for God. But that reason went against his dream. He wanted to leave that life behind him, wanted to live life free on his own terms without bloodshed and battle. Without lurking in the shadows unseen and unheard until the moment arrived when Death reared it's ugly head.
But instead of at least dying on his own terms he ended up living even his undead existence under the rule of another. His obedience subtly demanded from him by the man who held his contract. Kazuki had wondered often what would happen if he just up and left. Just refused to obey and left Empire City and Loki, all of it behind. However the little intel he was able to gather on the subject without asking Loki himself painted a grim picture. And while he no longer feared a second death he feared dying without his question of life answered.
Lost in thought he just noticed the sign that marked out A.N.G office and the laundromat it sat on top of. Pulling over to the side he parked his car in front of the two story building. Getting out he locked the door of his car before looking at it. It was an exact replica of the Orange Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR he drove when he still numbered among the truly human and living. Just like this city seemed an exact replica of a city of humanity. Complete with people going about normal human routines. It even had places of business, stores to buy things, theaters to see movies, even parks to walk through. All of it often convinced the new Dealers that they hadn't actually died, that the whole crossroads things was some sort of nightmare brought on by post traumatic stress disorder. Those type of people learned quick however.
As far as Kakuki was concerned it was utter bullshit. He still hadn't figured out why the creators of Empire city had gone to such lengths to sell the illusion of normality. Did it's creators envy the world of humanity, they must for imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But it was all still bullshit to the assassin who still dreams about peace when the nightmares of his life among the living aren't haunting him.Deciding to enter the A.N.G office he took note of the motorcycle parked nearby, another dealer had arrived before him.
Walking around to the back of the laundromat Kazuki opened the alley entrance door and walked up the subsequent stairs to the large wooden door with ' Thead's Bail Bonds' engrraved on it. Once again the utter bullshit of this world made itself known. This time however the assassin paid it no attention. Pushing open the door he caught the tail end of someone being begging for an order to kill.
Such insane and blood drunk speech could only come from the Dealer who called himself bone. Personally he found the man appalling, he was the kind of scum he had hunted while still alive. But in this land of dead mean Kazuki saw little point in worrying about the likes of Bone. And to the right of the blood drunk monster was a man who lay on the couch between Loki and his assistant's desk a young looking girl named Wendy. But in this land of ageless dead men Wendy could be 20,000 years old for all the assassin knew. The man who lay on the couch was a Dealer known as Zess who spoke little about himself but who would go on and on about the stupidest things. This Dealer was a Joker, and a joke as well to the serious minded assassin.
Standing near the door in silence the assassin waited for a order from the Merchant who held his contract.

He walked into the dark, grimy alley, and pushed the back door open. He walked up the flight of wooden stares, just as he had the hundreds of times before. He approached the wooden door, the engraved "Thead's Bail Bonds" still the same. The same secretary sat behind the desk. "Hello, Mr. Noble. You can just go inside." He nodded and opened the door. There were four other Dealers there. Three he knew about, but the kid was new. Noble let the door close behind him, and walked across the room. He sat down in a white armchair and waited for Loki to hand out the assignments.

But passive observation aside the assassin snapped to attention as Loki began handing out assignments their nature varying although they all paid the same. Something Kazuki found odd as taking on a vampire's nest or demon was of a vastly increased difficulty compared to dealing with a few Lost souls. Even having to deal with the foul mouthed Reaper didn't seem to make taking on some Lost Souls equal to a Demon or Vampire's Nest. However the assassin said nothing, he was not one to bring such a petty complaint to light. As even he knew it was pointless, unlike the new kid it seemed.
When Loki asked which assignment he would prefer the assassin had made his mind up. Dealing with lost souls was pointless in his mind, after all Reaper seemed to being doing just fine on his own. Why waste time doing someone else's work he always thought. " I guess I'll take the demon then." Was all Kazuki said by way of reply to the Merchant's question before picking up the folder rapidly skimming through it's contents as he walked out of the office and down the stairs.
Getting to his car the assassin started it throwing it into first as he sped down the street at a speed that would have seen his living self promptly pulled over. But in this mockery of a human city Kazuki seemed free to do just about anything expect leave it. The roar of the engine once more underscored the heavy metal he preferred as he drove weaving down the roads towards the geographically center of the center, the so called Capital Building, it was the tallest pile of bullshit in this city as far as the assassin was concerned.
At the speed he was driving it was not long before the 90 story building was looming over him. Given this was now the haunt of a demon he found it odd there was little property damage. Most of the hell spawn made a mess when they showed up. And aside from a few flipped over cars and a blasted doorway there was little to state a Demon had been running amok. Even the usual telltale blood stains where absent and while the air was heavy with the stench the hell spawn usually brought with them it was if nothing happened or had already ended.
" interesting, not usual Demonic behavior." He spoke to himself as he walked into the building's grand entrance. A marble and steel testimony to the bullshit this building represented. Here were a few tossed about chairs but still no actual signs of battle. At the end of the entrance was two stainless steel doors marking the elevators. Calling one he waited while the it came, the tension of the moment seemingly low. Even the lights and elevators still worked for Christs sakes He thought with some annoyance as the door in front of him slid open revealing the steel cube that was the elevator's box. Pressing the rooftop floor button he stood in silence as the usual crappy elevator music started playing. Some sweet as syrup track that was an insult to music in this assassin's mind.
The mirrored insides of the elevator threw back only his image for the longest time as the elevator rode up to it's destination. But for a split second a shadowy image appeared next to his own in the mirrored sides. Trying to play mind games with a Dealer, these Demons need to learn some new tricks already. He mused the thought not breaking that neutral mask he wore so well. But the assassin nonetheless was not going to fall into underestimating his enemy just yet or anytime soon for that matter. The elevator finally reached the rooftop floor, a relief for this assassin as it meant he wouldn't have to listen to the crappy music coming out of it's speakers.
A short walk down a hallway with six doors on each side and through a maintenance door Kazuki was staring out onto the actual roof itself.
" You are brave to come alone Dealer. I have already defeated and absorbed so many it's a wonder any have the courage to stand against me." A female voice said behind him it's tones dripping with sin and sex appeal.
" I'll admit you almost got me with the crappy music Demon." The assassin answered with a flat matter of fact tone as the Demon launched it's attack. A spear thrust it self through the Dealer's back then sent him flying nearly throwing him off the rooftop.
Getting Back up as the wound healed rapidly Kazuki took his opponent in. It was a female type demon armed with a wicked looking spear. Judging from the speed and ease at which she had gotten behind him coupled with the fact she spoke of absorbing suddenly explained the lack of overall damage and bodies to the assassin. Furthermore the charm she had tried to seduce him with answered why there was no blood. While it didn't work on him it had on others. All and all it looked like a tough fight for this assassin use to being the one striking from behind.
Not wasting time with anymore words Kazuki launched his own attack. Focusing on the core of his being he tapped into his so called gift. And suddenly time came to a stop for him the Demon standing still while he moved faster. Kicking the spear out of the she-demon's grasp he took it into his own hands. Spinning it smoothly around he drove the point into the Demon's heart before jumping back and drawing his pistol out. Deactivating the altered flow of time he and the demon returned to normal time.
The she-demon was suddenly gasping for air as it noticed it's own spear was thrust clean through it's heart. Looking up with a baleful glare the last thing it knew was the pain of 20 9mm rounds ending it's life. Kazuki for his part fell to his kness breathing heavily as if he had run a 20 kilometer marathon. Using his so called gift was exhausting. And minor wounds scored his body the greatest mystery to him. Why did using his power cause him damage.
Getting back up on shaky legs he walked back to the elevator and hit the button for the entrance floor. This assignment was over but there where always other ones. After all the debt he owed to Loki seemed high, the Merchant charged a lot for this second life. " At least I don't have to wash the asshole's laundry today." He said to his reflection in the mirrored sides of the elevator.

"That was two easy." Noble looked around again. "Loki would never give me a job this easy. Unless..." Noble quickly opened the breaches on his revolvers and began sliding rounds into the empty chambers. The metal was hot, burning Nobles thumbs as he put new slugs into the weapon. ignoring the pain, he snapped the guns closed again. There had to be more to this job than these six Lost Souls. He continued to walk through the park, looking for anything out of the ordinary. He finally approached the haunted house. If anything was going to be here, it was inside of that house. "I should go check on Nick first." Noble turned around and began walking back to the park's entrance.

Wendy walked over to Loki's desk, grabbing a piece of paper off it. "Strange, I remember this being in Mr. Noble's folder." Loki put down his pen and leaned back. "He wouldn't have taken the kid if he knew what the real job was. Honestly, I don't know what's there, but at least I can trust Mr. Noble to tell me. Knowing Zess or Kazuki, they'd probably just kill the thing and call it a day without thinking twice about it." Loki raised his hand, a light being visible through the dark blue glove. "I see Mr. Shrioyama has completed his job. Get a clean up crew to the building." Loki had sealed off the area once he learned the news of the demon, only allowing half a dozen or so be killed by it. While the dealers would have been able to see the effects of the demon, everyone else would see a normal building, even going about their daily routines inside of it. Rather than coming up with a long unbearable explanation, Loki rewrote the event to be more believable. One of the victims was a janitor, making him to be a crazed killer with a shotgun made the most sense. It wasn't exactly hard work for Loki, but the fact that they were so bold as to attack the Capital Building when usually they prefer the shady less attention grabbing areas worried him.
Zess entered the office being the first one back which was to be expected as his job was the easiest. "It managed to get three people." Wendy made a note of the victims and went back to her work. Bone came barreling in, holding a bag. Loki went back to his work as Bone talked. "That's good to hear. Well, unlike Zess you managed to make it in time before the vampires began hunting." Loki closed his book and stood up, walking along the wall to find where it belonged. The books that surrounded the office were strange. None had titles or author names on them and when you tried to pull them out they wouldn't budge, more than likely Loki's doing.

But right now he was sitting behind the wheel of his car speeding down the rode as if being chased, The lyrics of Filter's Hey man Nice shot the background theme for his drive. His mother once asked Kazuki why he drove so fast the assassin merely answered that it helped him leave 'it all behind'. It was answer that must of displeased her for she never brought up the topic again.
"You'd fight and you were right
But they were just too strong
They'd stick it in your face
And let you smell what they consider wrong
That's why i say hey man nice shot, nice shot"
He had enjoyed the song even before his death but now as for all intents and purposes some sort of undead agent for a Merchant they rang with a particular truth. But with his mindset of not looking back he soon ignored their meaning and simply enjoyed the song. shifting down in first as the street the A.N.G office was pulled onto Kazuki slowly pulled over into a parking spot and killed the engine. Getting out of the car he threw off his ripped jacket and shirt now sporting blood stains and sizable holes from where the demon's spear thrust through. He then began a slow walk towards the alley where the back door of the laundromat was located. He was still drained from the use of his power.
Climbing up the stairs with a slightly heavy breath the assassin once more pushed open the door to be met with the sights of the other dealers who had made it before him. He paid them scant attention although his eye for detail noticed several things, such as the bloody sack Bone held. Honestly the man needed to learn such grisly trophies were not needed. Loki seemed to have a unnatural ability to know exactly what happened on a second to second basis in Empire city.
Falling into chair set in front of Loki's desk the assassin waited for either a debrief, a dismissal,or another assignment. Though he knew another assignment would be have to be done with the benefit of his quicksilver gift as he simply didn't have the strength left to summon it again so soon. However given some rest his regenerative abilities would replenish the spiritual energy that powered Quicksilver.
Despite himself Kazuki was reviewing the battle over. While it was a standard fight as far as fighting demons go it's location was not. Most hell spawn seem to forsake the heavily visible areas like the Capital building. No doubt the Merchant was thinking the same thing, then again the assassin could care less. After all it didn't matter the ground the fight took on but the combatants involved. And killing a demon on top of a 90 story building was no different then killing on in some run down back alley in the slums.
