Three Stars
Briar is…overeager, to say the least. He’s extremely hyper and would probably have been diagnosed with an attention disorder if not for the fact that his parents were already distracted with him accidentally setting the house cat on fire. Briar is well-meaning and essentially a good person, but it’s sometimes hard to see that under a very thick layer of obnoxiousness and hyperactivity. He tends to end statements with, “You guys!” and he always ends his statements with exclamation marks. He does not have an inside voice. He has trouble seeing the forest for the trees, most likely because he just set the trees on fire.
Briar’s parents divorced when he was fairly young. For reasons that are incomprehensible to everyone with common sense, each parent took one child. Briar went with his mother, while his older brother Cyrus went with their father. The siblings still got to see each other twice a month, but that was pretty much it. This was upsetting to Briar, who naturally idolized his older brother (and would have liked to see his father a lot more.)
Briar was therefore overjoyed at the possibility of living with his brother at the Academy. He’s also not that upset about the whole mock dimension alien thing, because Briar doesn’t have a lot of common sense. To him, it’s like the best video game ever. Also, he has three stars, which to Briar means that he now has permission to boss everyone around.
