Introduction
This is only based on the Naruto Universe, and will follow a fairly/very similar story, just using different characters and at least slightly if not mostly different adventures. This will be our tale. So no, you can not make Sauske. Thats right, I am looking at YOU right there!
So, this story started a long time ago, when the.....well, if your joining this, you probably saw Naruto and you know what I am about to say. That said, if your new to all this, and just thought it was interesting, this is all you will need to know. Look up Jutsu, Nine Tailed Fox, HIdden Leaf Village, Ninja Ranks (or maybe it might all just be under Ninja), Kage, Weapons (such as Kunai (spellcheck that) and Shuriken), Naruto, and Akatski on the Naruto Wiki. That should tell you everything you will need to know if you are not familiar with Naruto lore. YOu don't need to know anything about the episodes, since we will be taking our own, alternate (though semi-similar) path with (mostly) different characters.
I will admit three things. One: Yes my Character is going to be the one with the nine tailed fox. Two: Yes, my character will have SHadow Clone Jutsu. Three: Yes, he will be personality wise a lot like Naruto. Four: Konohamaru relationship exists, but this is more because Konohamaru is FREAKING AWESOME! For those who saw Shippuden Season 3, he freaking defeated one of the Pains on his own. Using the Rasengan. But there will be some differences I will say right off the bat just so you know he is not a carbon copy of Naruto. One: No Sauske. Two: He will use a few jutsu you will have never seen Naruto use, in fact even a few I made up. Three: The Nine Tailed Fox mode/Chakra will have less OP moments like you see in Shippuden, but (hopefully) will be used more. Oh, and four: I am not using Naruto's picture for the character. And finally five: I am (probably) not going to have the Sexy Jutsu. As much as I am sure you all really want it, perverts. :3 lol
Anyways, now back to the overall story telling shinnaigans. So, I have been trying to figure out how to do this. From what I can see, this would be extremely hard to do with more then one squad, yet I usually like to have more then a few just in case. So, the RP will focus around one Ninja Squad, but I will have a waiting list so if someone disappears or leaves or whatever, someone else can join in.
Open Roles: YOU MUST RESERVE BY POSTING IN THE OOC. A Reservation will only be held for twenty four hours unless a WIP is submitted, in which case another twenty four hours will be granted. After two valid characters are submitted, any other reservations will be on the waiting list. If someone goes AFK for too long, or leaves with a notification, the top person on the waiting list will get a PM notifying him about this. You must post every two or three days, unless you give a reason as to why you will be unable to, in which case that time will be added to those two-three days, plus a little bit extra leniancy because I am a nice person. :D
Mazaro Tomaro: My character, so fairly obviously taken by me.
Squadmate 1: Taken
Squadmate 2: Reserved!
Waiting List:

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 6 authors
When her friend suddenly and with little explanation took his leave from the group, Mito's bafflement only increased. She could not understand Bato's reaction at all, the last time she had seen him so worked up was during his first weeks in the village; when Mito tired very stubbornly to convince the new academy student to reveal his past.
Could it be that Bato actually...
"Well, its good you have that attitude Mito. A shinobi life might seem hard and brutal, but one of the things I believe the Will of Fire represents is the Leaf Shinobi's bonds with his or her teammates. You will be fighting together, and more then likely will have to sleep in the same room at one time or another. Though I guess you and Bato won't have complaints against that very often..."
Mito was glad that she had pleased her teacher, but the latter had to wreck the moment by making another pass on Bato and Mito's supposed affair. The Fujimori growled in indignation, an act unbecoming of her social standing to be sure. Fists clenched and eyes narrowed Mito felt that this little game and gone on for long enough.
"Aadrin-Sensei, I will have you know that the relationship between Bato-kun and I is strictly professional, I will endure what I have to endure in order to accomplish my missions and protect my teammates". Said Mito with a tone of unrestrained anger.
"He won't take too long, will he? Or did he go to get some flowers too?. Your friend should not have blushed if he wanted me to believe him".
Mito sighed, this man could match Sauske's bouts of immaturity! Mito was about to teach her Sensei how she dealt her dear brother, but Aadrin's words caught up with her when he mentioned that Bato had also blushed during their shared ordeal.
Mito felt the warmness on her cheeks return and practically fled the team's meeting place rather then give Aadrin the satisfaction of witnessing a Mito Tomato for the second time in so many minutes , declaring quote: that she had "Important Clan Business" to attend to before they left on the mission.
Taking a deep breath he picked up a backpack and began filling it with mission essentials. Trail rations and spare clothing, of course. Spare ninja tools and all of that jazz. He didn't really have much to go on for location of this mission, so he packed a sweater just in case. That, and a green-patterned scarf that he held in his hands for a short while before packing away. He mouthed a word, a name, voicelessly and closed his bag. That scarf would be taken with him through blistering heats or arctic chills. There was no question. After the essentials were packed, he strapped his twin chakrams onto the back of the bag for easy access in cases of emergency. Feeling that he was properly prepared now, he slipped on his ninja sandals and stepped out of his apartment room with a lock to the door. Maybe once he went back, his sensei would stop being such an annoying prick... Yeah, that was a dream. He knew already that he was the type to keep nit-picking and poking and prodding until he got the reactions he desired. For his sake, Bato hoped he didn't desire a chakram to the face.
Stepping down the stairs and reaching the ground, he caught notice of Mito running at full force away from where they had met. His expresson turned to one of being just completely done as he knew right away that it was Aadrin-sensei's doing. He probably stayed and relentlessly teased her after Bato left. With a red-faced best friend like that, he had half a mind to give him a serious punch to the chin. But rather than go punch their sensei, he made his way to the sprinting Mito instead. Once he finally caught up with her, he reached out and tapped her shoulder before staring at her with his one exposed eye. "Yo. Idunno what you're doing, but we should head back to that arse now. Unless you got something important to be doing. In which case, I'd rather help you out than be with that guy... those guys." It would definitely be no secret to Mito that he disliked the Aburame kid. If she left back to their sensei, he'd follow suit. If not, he'd just follow her wherever she intended to go.

Given the nature of her family's gift, death was something she would have to come to terms with. It was very rarely used as a negotiation tactic when trying to recruit the assistance of an unfamiliar spirits. Some were eager to share their stories, while others who had suffered more tragic deaths would instantly clam up and refuse to hear another word of persuasion. The refusal of a spirit was a blow to the ego more often than not. However, there were darker consequences if less friendly spirits realized that their Handler was literally a gate between the Human World and the Spirit Realm that it could be another chance at life. Possession in even minor cases was extremely unpleasant as allowed the spirit to use your body as a puppet of sorts with only willpower enforcing your own mind.
That was the dark nature of their gift. Anyone deemed incapable of withstanding possession would be shut out of the family's secret vault for the remainder of their lives. A few deemed this practice to merely make potential full body possession an even higher risk. When that occurred it was theorized the human soul was consumed by the spirit and it's body was merely a hallow shell. Execution performed by honored clan members, often family members was considered a way of reuniting the human spirit one last time with its' body.
Shaking her head of melancholy thoughts as she posed a optimistic thought to the rest of the group "Well now that is over. The mission shouldn't be any more difficult right?". The faint feeling of hope dared appear in heart as Shiki knew that her body wouldn't be able to survive another unprepared Spirit calling for quite a few days. A faint smile came on her face as everyone else seemed to be perfectly ready to handle anything that came their way.

As for weapons went. He had plenty and then he could also make more with his crystal so there was no reason to go anywhere. So he sat down and used the chakra to increase the amount of kikaichu inside in his body. There was of course s a limit but Kazuki wished to increase the number of mutations and evolutions so as to make them far superior to kiku bugs of others.
It was then that as warm had finally retrieved a black and red painted clay gourd which quickly he placed it on his back.
"Sensei," he said suddenly while looking over his tools again to make sure all of them were easy to reach for quick access. He still wasn't pleased by with his team choice but knew that he didn't have any say in it. They had grouped together for a reason. He wanted to figure it out quickly so he stop thinking so little of thinking about it. he would have to keep an eye on their skill level and talents to understand so he made mental note to keep an eye on them. "did you purposely try to agitate them as some sort of test or did you actually believe there is something there between them?"
It could affect missions if it was true which would also give him and Aadrin Sensei more to keep an eye on which could end up badly for the team as a whole. Or it could strengthen their bond and make them more effective. It will have to be carefully
He decided he would plant one of the female kikaichu on all of them later. That way it would serve as information as well as a long term tracking for their safety in case something happened. He would make sure to do it today when they were all back together, but before the mission started.
In her mind the same thoughts repeated like clockwork; why had Bato left so suddenly? Did Sensei see something they hadn't about their relationship? Why was she reacting like a bloody fan girl to all of this?
Bato of all people catching up with her and⦠touching her on the shoulder didn't put any of these thoughts to rest, but at least her senses where brought back to earth.
"We should head back to that arse now. Unless you got something important to be doing. In which case, I'd rather help you out than be with that guy... those guys". Said Bato, noticeably more levelheaded then Mito was at the moment.
Mito could not help but ponder the meaning of "I would rather help you out then be with them" in light of recent events. After a few moments of mutually embarrassing silence, Mito cursed herself for her silliness realizing that Bato simply didn't like the other half of their team and probably didn't mean anything else by his words.
Taking a deep breath, Mito decided she would put away her thoughts for the time being and focus on getting ready for the mission. She didn't know yet how what her feelings where for Bato at the moment, but she could not deny that her original curiosity about the "mystery boy" may have become a little more than that over the year since she had come to know him.
"I am on my way to the clan compound to pick up my gear, I already had things packed just in case but I didn't think we would be ordered out of the village so soon so I did not bring my bag with me. You can come with me if you so wish.
The remaining journey didn't take long and after several minutes the Fujimori clan compound came into view. Unlike other clans such as the Uchiha which valued their privacy at the village's outskirts, the Fujimori compound was only a mile away from the village's center.
This wasn't the original clan compound, but the Fujimori had owned this plot of land since the founding of Konoha. The original compound had been destroyed during the Kyubi attack, the lands of the old compound had since been leased to the village to construct subsided housing for the many orphans the demon attack and the Shinobi lifestyle in general created for the village.
Like most clan compounds a nine foot adobe wall separated the area from the rest of the village. Vines and hanging baskets in full bloom adorned the barrier setting it apart from the Uchiha and the Hyuga clans which neglected such finery. The compound didn't have a reinforced gate like most of the paranoid Ninja clans; instead a fine marble archway marked the entrance to the compound, protected by village Shinobi the clan routinely employed for the task despite the relatively high cost for their services.
The old groundskeeper, a clan member and retired ninja, identifies Mito and let her and her guest pass with a small smile upon noticing his kinswoman's new headband.
Inside the walls, the compound seemed and was in fact smaller than its counterparts. The clan gardens bustling with trees and flowers of every shape, color and kind concealed somewhat the confining fortifications and filled the air with the exotic odors of all five of the elemental nations and dozens of smaller countries.
Mito crossed a stone path passing by the various wooden houses of the clan members; the main house in comparison to these small buildings was something of a disappointed to the onlooker β it wasn't unique and in terms of size only slightly larger than the other clan homes. The thatched roofed building was none the less adorned by golden wooden planks and symbolized the social hierarchy through a modern clock tower rising through its second level β making the building significantly taller than its brethren.
As she entered her home, Mito suddenly came to a stop clearly disturbed by something. She could not yet hear the exact words but she recognized the monotone voice of her father talking with someone β probably Sasuke. The Fujimori looked over her shoulder at her teammate, a concerned look on her face silently telling him to avoid catching attention.
"...Why are we paying such an extravagant sum for these mercenaries? I thought the previous contract would be renewed ". Said the younger voice, clearly her brother who though still learning was no novice to economics.
"Our trade routes where vulnerable; the quality of the last company did not answer the full range of threats". Replied the elder voice patiently but finally, her father didn't really want to discuss his decision then.
"Most of this trade route passes through Fire Country; bandit activity was contained by the previous contract and the threat of missing nin's activity is kept to a minimum thanks to Konoha's patrols. Why pay more money for a company with a ninja beating capacity our own village ninja already supply?"
Mito didn't pay much attention to her family's conversation as she walked into the dining room where her brother and father where seated. Her father had made a habit of going through the family finances with his heir so that the latter would be able to take over quickly should anything befall him β a sensible precaution even for a civilian clan head.
"Mito, I see you completed your graduation exam successfully. Please forgive me for not meeting you afterwards; I was otherwise engaged in important clan business".
Mito nodded, she knew her father was a busy man but it did hurt her sometimes not having the close attention of a parent to congratulate her on her exploits.
"Hai father, I understand. I must inform you that my team shall be sent for a mission away from the village, I suspect I shall be absent for several days or more".
The father looked at her with a probing gaze, others would think cold but privately the Fujimori leader worked hard to restrain his emotions. His daughter so reminded him of her mother, and though he did not approve of the ninja lifestyle he knew that his late wife would have been proud of their daughter and accepted her chosen path.
If only the Demon had not taken her away, he knew he would never get her back but at least he could see to it that the demon was dealt with while bounded by the weakness of mortal form.
The Fujimori clan head's gaze drifted away from his daughter and to her companion. He was aware of his identity and did not approve of his daughter's friendship with the foreigner. His earlier attempts to dissuade his daughter from befriending the boy only made her more curious about him. He had since given up on separating them and settled for treating the boy with a passive aggressiveness or ignoring him altogether
"Himura-san, I extend my congratulations to you on passing the final exam. My daughter would be offended if I asked you to watch out for her but please be careful, both of you". Said the eldest Fujimori, containing his usual displeasure for his daughter's sake. He then left the room leaving his children and their guest alone.
Mito seeing that she had been dismissed walked into her chambers and picked up her already prepared bag. The ninja manual said an active shinobi had to always have his basic provisions ready for a two week assignment and Mito was quite rehearsed in these rules.
The two boys where left alone in the room, Sasuke chose the moment to hand Bato a small parcel still warm from the oven, he had planned on giving it to a wandering trader he knew but decided he could always prepare another package.
"There are some sweet rolls in there, now that you are my sister's teammate I must insist on looking out for you too. I know you live alone so don't be afraid to ask for the help of the Fujimori clan if you need it, we take care of our family and our allies".
As the ninja left the clan compound Mito looked at her home one last time, promising her mother's spirit and the dead of her clan that she would give them reason to be proud of her.

Areesia seemed perfectly fine. As always. She always just seemed perfectly fine... Oh, how Chika envied her in more ways than one. She just seemed so good at everything. Perhaps the girl's own insecurities were stretching it a bit, but there wasn't much that could be done about that. She'd have to get over it in time. Mazaro seemed just fine. In fact, his claims about the Fourth being his father seemed to put him in incredible spirits after just being attacked. She had to smile softly at his optimism. He didn't feel the need to think too hard about why he was attacked. He just made up some story to make himself, and maybe the others, smile at him. Which was honestly fine, so long as that flunkee didn't honestly believe he had blood ties to the Fourth Hokage, one of the greatest shinobi to ever draw breath. Shiki seemed tired from the attack. Were her abilities too taxing on her at this early an age? Hopefully that would pass in time, but it only seemed to enforce Chika's thought of her needing to be protected. She would really have to keep an eye on her... In fact, she made a note to cover the girl immediately at the next sign o combat. Chika could handle herself well enough. Shiki seemed unable to do that properly.
And her sensei... well, she couldn't deny that he was attractive. Never could right from the get-go. But he knew something and was keeping it from the group. The young Uchiha could tell this with ease. Was it for the better that he said nothing, or was he playing a game? Needless to say, if it was a game to him, he would get a long scolding by his student. Even if that were a bit inappropriate, this was her new family. She wasn't about to let herself get deceived and otherwise denied important, critical information that would affect the team's safety. She sighed and shook her head, turning to Shiki with an outstretched hand. "Here's hoping. But one should never let their guard down on a mission, whether it's an execution mission or a simple pet retrieval." Her smile was sweet as she spoke. "And we are a team. Don't be afraid to ask for help. That goes for all of you." Her personality just seemed to completely overwrite the Uchiha stereotypes. In fact, if they hadn't seen her Sharingan but mere moments ago, some might even begin to doubt her claims to the clan's name But she was good to that claim at the least.

Too many questions needed to be answered. There was also the matter of her upcoming lecture she didn't want to think about. Sure, she wasn't much of a team player anymore, but how could she be? A few dark images flashed through her mind of her old Sensei and the team she'd called family. It had been raining for a few hours in the area. Their blood had mixed with the mud at their feet. How any of them had survived was a miracle. A miracle, Areesia really wished hadn't happened. She'd much rather be with her old squad, but she was here now and nothing could be done about it.
With a small sigh, the Chunin adjusted her pack and fell into step behind the rest of the group. They would follow behind of their Sensei until it was time to make camp for the night. Then, she imagined they would get to talk more about the craziness that had befallen the group in such a short time as well as her own attitude towards the whole thing. She wanted to go out on regular missions again, ones befitting her rank. Of course, the battle that had just taken place wasn't something that normally happened to first time genin teams. Something was definitely going on. The inner curiosity was getting the best of her. She would stick this out until she had more answers, one way or another.
As the group arrived at the small village, they only had one step left to completing their task. Deliver the scroll, and their mission was officially completed. Granted, they had dealt with a lot more then they expected, but they had proven their worth. However, as they were walking, a noise came from Mazaro. His stomach growled. "Huh. We better get this scroll delivered quickly, I need some lunch".
As he turned a corner though, he knocked into somebody. He was about to yell at him to watch where he was going, when he recognized him as a member of the leaf village via his headband. And whoever he was, his next words made it clear he was different from the others. "Ah, a fellow leaf Ninja! Mazaru, right?"
"ITS MAZARO!"
"Oh, sorry. I see you passed the exam though, congratulations. The only way to get that is to earn it" he said, looking at Mazaro, and then at the people behind Mazaro, his team. Mazaro was taken aback. Was someone....who wasn't on his team, wasn't the Third Hokage, wasn't Iruka, and wasn't Konohamaru....showing him respect? For a moment, he thought he might have a heart attack from overwhelming joy. "Anyways, let me guess, you are here to complete your first mission right? Run into any trouble, or has it been straightforward? Oh, and excuse me, I never introduced myself. My name.....is Kabuto". (okay, how many red flags did I just set off by dropping that name?)
"Well actually, we are just about to finish our mission. Some people attacked us on the road, and...." it occured to Mazaro telling people why could put him in more danger. "...and we have no idea why. Nope. None, not any idea at all. Not a one".
(Sorry its late, I fell asleep typing it last night. But wooooow, Kabuto just showed up early. I am sure you are all thinking up grand conspiracies right about now).
Even her chakra felt like it needed a nap, it made her wonder if there were any spots of spiritual significance. Given the fact that in the nearby forest she could actually see minor spirits there had to be something of special value that drew the creatures from the beyond. Now who would be the best to ask such questions..maybe their client would know the answer?
'Kami... I have my work cut out for me with this kid" Thought the Jonin, Mazarro may be a talented fighter for a Genin; but the ability to fight was only one of many skills a Shinobi needed to acquire in order to survive. Shinji would have to teach all of his students, but Mazarro specifically the essence of intrigue or at least some subtleness!
Looking at Kabuto, Shinji noted that the other ninja didn't buy Mazarro's explanation ether, but knew best to leave it alone. Ninja of the same village where discouraged from inquiring after their comrade's missions, least they be captured by an enemy and divulge information they are not supposed to know. It was less an attempt to keep things secret and more a damaged control policy; if a specific Ninja was captured, his superiors could immediately change and reform whatever tasks or operations that Ninja was familiar with. If a Ninja knew about missions outside his own, the village would be hard pressed to guess what else such a Ninja could know.
Shinji was thankful to his white haired student, between the two of them Mazarro and Kabuto had distracted him form their mission.
"You are quite right Shiki-chan, our clients work by a tight schedule; we do not want all of Konoha blaming us for a failure in Sake shipments this week after all". Said Shinji, deciding to spill the beans on their mission's objective; his students would find out the moment they arrived at the brewery anyway.
Shinji had noted Shiki's relative detachment from the team. It had been a similar issue with her brother back then. Shinji didn't pretend to understand the way that family worked but he inwardly decided he would try to get Shiki more involved in the team.
"Our clients live in the village's outskirts, they are a very wealthy civilian family which produces most of the local sake in this part of the Country of Fire. The clients have relations inside Konoha, so we will probably be expected to stay the night and join the family for dinner. I understand if some of you just want to get home, but it would be rude to refuse the hospitality and I think we could all do with some rest".
Shinji looked over the mission scroll for directions and directed his team to the correct path, bidding Kabuto farewell.
When the party arrived at the brewery, they where greeted by the site of spacious rice fields as far as the eye could see and a few villagers tending to the soaked crop. Th brewery itself was an old establishment, traditionally built with wooden planks and a silver pointed roof. The clients where much the same as Shinji remembered from his own genin day's.
The Hashiwa's had been old when Shinji had been a kid, and now they appeared exactly the same as back then as if they could not age further. The bald and bearded elder accepted Shinji's vague explanation regarding an ambush without complaint, the civilian was used to working with Ninja and knew not to ask for details.
Meanwhile, a similarly old grey haired lady fussed over Shinji's little genin, insisting that they come into the house and stay over almost immediately upon noticing the cuts, bruises and fatigue the young ninja had been dealt by the bandits. Shinji was particularly gratified that nether elder showed Mazzaro any animosity, Shinji knew the kid was unpopular in the village for some reason but maybe he could enjoy the Hashiwa's famed hospitality and put his mind off assassination attempts for one night.

Corita thought back to their answers though. Mito holds hatred, mostly for the Nine Tailed Fox. If she focused it, she could be a potentially great shinobi, if she learned how to control that anger, as well as her other emotions. I suppose I should count myself lucky. Had the Third Hokage not decided to alter the team makeups to ensure optimal safety for the Nine Tailed Fox's development, the original team listing had Mazaro and Mito on the same team. This is best...because if Mito ever learns what really happened to the Nine Tailed Fox, I am pretty sure she would kill it no matter what, as well as anyone who got in her way...
That was when the tunnel digger arrived, before Mito and Bato. "Oh well, I guess I probably wont seem them red faced anytime soon. Still, we should start our way. The tunnel digger is not as fast as us, and Mito and Bato could take the run as additional punishment for not being ready, when I specifically told all of you ahead of time to be fully prepared before you got here. I will leave my note for them with this kunai, so that they don't get too lost".
He tied his note to a kunai, threw it into the tree where they had been practicing before, and then departed. "Coming Kazuki?"
