Introduction
Gunn fell before me.
I liffted my axe and swung to the right.
Illyria ripped the throat out of the Gorc Demon and laughed as it liquified and rippled.
Then I heard it. The roar of a Dragon. I raised my axe as it dove down at me, but before I could cut it's throat, it lashed it tail at me, sending me slamming into the brick wall. Spike dashed towards me, offering his hand. I took it, and he spun me in circles, lifting me off the ground, then flinging me into the air. I clutched my axe to my chest and closed my eyes. Then, I slammed into the side of the dragon. As I started to slip, I gripped for the scales, tearing a few off. I climbed up to its back it tried to shake me off, but I held on. In between its shoulder blades was a purple gem. It looked important. I raised the axe above my head with my free hand and sent it crashing into the creatures back, shattering the gem. A sudden blast of energy threw me off of the beasts back. I closed my eyes as I hurtled towards the earth. I lost grip of my axe as I slammed into the asphault. I felt bones shatter, and organs rip. I opened my eyes and looked around. Spike and Illyria were walking towards me. The dead Gunn slung over Spikes shoulder.
"THe Dragon. It released a blast of energy. The energy must have overwhelmed them, and that's why they disintergrated." Observed Illyria.
"Has your singn' Demon come back yet?" Spike asked.
"No." I answered.
"I do not believe he survived." Said Illyria.
"Don't talk like that!" I yelled.
She stared for a moment. "The truth angers you? Why?"
"Maybe you should ask Wesley!" I snapped. I imeddiatly felt guilty, but I was to ashamed to say it.
"Maybe we should find a place to stay before we start goin' at it." Spike said.
"That sounds intelligent. We should listen to my pet" Illyria said quietly.
"Pet!?"
I picked up my axe as Illyria picked up Gunn, ignoring the evil glare from Spike. We all walked into the night, ready to fight anything the world could throw at us.
And maybe Spike...
