Rory Kleng

A sea eagle searching for peace.

0 · 316 views · located in World of Terra

a character in “Animals, friends or foes?”, as played by Kuril

Description

Name: Rory Kleng

Animal Age: 12

Human age: 32

Gender: Male

Your feelings towards Humans: Strained. See the bio.

Likes: Open spaces, the ocean, snow, fish, cooking

Dislikes: Power-grabbers, crowded places

Animal form: Steller's Sea Eagle. See this picture for appearance and scale: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Stell ... th_Man.jpg

Human form: Kinda like this guy, http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx64 ... renner.jpg , but with darker hair and obviously different clothing. As Rory spends most of his time exploring the area to make maps, he looks mostly like an outdoorsman and wearing clothing suitable for his job.

Bio: Rory was born in one of the last wild areas of Terra, a far northern oceanic area. He lived fairly free of human intervention, but this didn't last long: he was driven out of his small community by human colonization when he was still young and driven into hiding. He remained in hiding for years, bitter and angry towards humans in general. Later he became involved in some less than legal activities, looking for revenge. Things have changed over the past few years as he learned from other animals in hiding the secret of appearing like a human. Tired of running and cooled off somewhat from his incident with humans, Rory settled in a human town for the sake of earning a living, becoming a cartographer. As he began to slowly interact with humans, he realized that they aren't all the monsters that form his childhood memories. Rory is still somewhat awkward with humans and has very few close human friends (but has not, so far, revealed his true self to any of them), and wishes to meet more animals in hiding to help them at least find some sanity. Because of his experiences, it takes him a long time to fully trust someone. Even with his experiences with humans, he still dreams of a world free from human colonization and so is not at all commited to developing any sort of rapport with humans: he veiws his dealings with humans as more of an necessary evil at this point.

Rory knew what had happened the second he got tackled into the dirt. How stupid he was! This was just game #2: hunt. Hopefully Kyra could control--

"Ow! Get off!"

And Kyra did, not before leaving a nice bite mark on his left shoulder. Rory wasn't sure whether to be frustrated or relieved: sure, Kyra didn't know how to control herself, but at least she didn't run away. Rory would much rather have Kyra biting his shoulder than killing somebody else's sheep, but Rory still wished Kyra didn't do that. At least Kyra was walking back into the house. Hoping that nobody saw Kyra tiger-pounce him, he slowly got up and looked at his shoulder. It wasn't too bad: Rory's shirt was doing a good job of stopping most of the bleeding, but it did hurt quite a bit. Kyra must have just thought she was just playing, Rory thought, or otherwise this would have been much worse. He did need to bandage it up, though, so he started walking back towards his house.

Just in time, too, to see Kyra making a complete mess of things. Clothes, pre-gridded paper, and other random stuff were flying everywhere. Rory had to distract Kyra with something, so he used the two first things he thought of. "Kyra, just stop for a second." he said in a slightly loud but not angry voice. "I need to get my stuff so I can bandage up my shoulder. I can't do that if you're tearing up everything!" Rory did his best to hide his frustration, but he wasn't doing that great a job of it.

The second thing Rory thought of was food. He at least knew that Kyra loved eating, and fortunately Rory did have some jerky preserving in his cellar. One of his human friends who frequently bought his maps was a hunter, and once sold him a large amount of venison in exchange for more maps. Rory disliked the idea, but accepted it so as to not blow his cover. He didn't feel like eating it (fish was the only meat he really liked), but cut and salted it so that it would at least wouldn't go bad. Hopefully Kyra would like it. "If you let me get my shoulder fixed up," Rory said to Kyra, "I'll show you where some food is that I'll think you'll like." Rory was careful not to say where exactly it was. "Do you like deer?" Rory asked, putting a smile on his face. If this didn't get Kyra's attention, nothing would.

Kyra walked ahead silently, keeping her eyes glued to the hour old scent trail. She was retracing her steps back to the cave they ha hidden at first. She was close when she heard the noise. Snapping bones and heavy breathing. Going into a crouch, her tail curled she stalked forward curious about the sounds she was hearing.

Darius the grizzly trudged through the forest, not even bothering to put up his human disguise. His fur was wet from the all the fishing he's been doing all day and stood up on his hindlegs as he smelt something. He inhaled deeper and actually took in another wift. There was a feline somewhere near. He didn't know what type but all he could tell was, that it was feline. He was suprised but was looking forward to a confrontation with this animal among humans. He started heading for his cave again but stopped. He looked up. Hiding in the tree two wide green eyes stared down at him.

Kyra looked at Darius. He was odd and foreign. He didn't look like a human or a tiger but... he looked huge and strong enough to whack her out of the tree. Hesitantly she jumped out of the tree and stood to face the giant beast.

Darius looked at Kyra, snuffed then sat down. She was a tiger. A siberian tiger. He looked at her then put up his human disguise and spoke. "Where did you come from?" His voice curious, but smooth with not even a tiny hint of anger.

Kyra looked at him and though of what to say but couldn't build the courage to speak. Instead Darius spoke again, this time in another language. "ОŅ‚ĐēŅƒĐ´Đ° вŅ‹ Ņ€ĐžĐ´ĐžĐŧ, ĐēĐžŅ‚ĐĩĐŊĐžĐē?" Kyra looked up and actually understood what he said. He had said 'Where did you come from, Kitten?'

Kyra replied and was suprised that she actually spoke like did. Russian. "Đ¯ ĐŋŅ€Đ¸ĐĩŅ…Đ°Đģ ŅŅŽĐ´Đ°, Ņ‡Ņ‚ОйŅ‹ ĐŋĐžŅĐŧĐžŅ‚Ņ€ĐĩŅ‚ŅŒ ĐŊĐ° ĐŋĐĩŅ‰ĐĩŅ€Ņƒ ĐēĐžŅŅ‚и." She had said, 'I came here to look at the cave of bones.'

Darius smiled, his features changing. "В ĐŋĐĩŅ‰ĐĩŅ€Đĩ ĐēĐžŅŅ‚и ĐŧОК Đ´ĐžĐŧ, ĐŊĐž вŅ‹ ĐŋŅ€Đ¸ŅˆĐģи Ņ ĐģŅŽĐ´ŅŒĐŧи?" He had said, 'The cave of bones is my home, but did you come with humans?' Kyra nodded and was able to bring up her human disguise.

"ГдĐĩ ĐžĐŊи, ĐŧОК ĐēĐžŅ‚ĐĩĐŊĐžĐē?" Darius had asked, 'Where are they, my kitten?'
"Đ¯ ĐŧĐžĐŗŅƒ ĐŋŅ€Đ¸Đ˛ĐĩŅŅ‚и ваŅ Đē ĐŊиĐŧ, ĐŊĐž вŅ‹ Đ´ĐžĐģĐļĐŊŅ‹ идŅ‚и в ĐŊĐžĐŗŅƒ." Kyra had replied, 'I can lead you to them but you have to keep up.'
Darius laughed and nodded, following as Kyra took off in the direction of where Alex had gone to save the hunter. She wasn't going to Rory's house because Darius had asked about the Human's location, not an animal.

Mickhail eyes shot open at the sound of a roar. With a sudden jolt she sat up and stared at the tiger who growled at her from the entrance. Her heart began to race, but she said nothing. She saw the wound that she left, it was looking like it was healing fine, as for hers, it still bothered hers. She was scared but didn't think the tiger would do anything when she was near Alex. Then yet again, the last time she saw the thing she and Rory were distracting Alex's father from finding her. She may have saved the tiger's life. So why did it act to hostel? Well, she was no fool, hatred was a powerful thing. Mickhail, she knew that even though she had changed, the actions that she had done before could come back to haunt her. To that, they just might of did. She saw another figure, who she had not met before. A human, no... Must of been an animal in the form of a human. Kyra would never trust a human other than Alex, at least, that's what Mickhail thought from the limited knowledge of the tiger.

"Agheem, I believe you two humans are in my territory. Because of your friend here, you have been saved from a grisly death. Although you probably will." He looked pointedly at the Hunter when he said the last part.

Mickhail's heart dropped. She should thought that she was not going to live the night. This was worse, so much worse. The tiger, teamed up with this mystery- Wait... Did he say... Grisly death? Mickhail's heart pounded like a drum, her face went pale very quick, and she scooted away from the two, planning on making a break for another tent, which had the weapons Alex's men left behind. All she would need to do is sprint and then she would have a chance, but, she would need a distraction. The mystery animal, which she had a small idea of what it might be, the same animals Alex talked of earlier. As for the tiger, she could not at run or fight unarmed. She hardly did anything to it when she had the drop on it.

She took a deep breath, thinking maybe this was all a misunderstanding. Rory was somewhere laughing in the trees, this was a big joke. Wow, she knew that she was doing a poor job at kidding herself. She was in trouble, even when she had little idea what was going on.

"I'm sorry... Perhaps you have the wrong people. My friend and I are close to this tiger, so no need for threatening statements. As for your territory, I'm sorry for entering it, I was simply rescued earlier by this young man." she said the nodding to Alex.

This was a big step for Mickhail's change. Instead of hissing off the two wanting conflict and a fight, blindly uncaring if she had the disadvantage with the only thought of killing in her mind, she had a reason to live and she wanted to hold onto that. So killing this unknown enemy, with kindness seemed the best way, if any, she really just wished they just eat her if they were all ready going to. The fear was more torcher than anything she felt, like her childhood.

"Alex..." she whispered, beginning to feel light headed and nauseous.

Being cramped into a tight space with a tiger growling plus her life threatened by an unknown animal, she was suffer from large amounts of stress, being this was added with everything else earlier.

Darius looked at Alex and laughed. "Oh I'm not going to kill you... unless you don't remove your hunter from my territory within the next five hours." He looked at Kyra, then turned to face Rory, and blinked. He could see the bird creature Rory was, he looked at Kyra. "A friend of yours?"

Kyra looked at Rory and nodded, then looked at Alex. "МĐŊĐĩ ĐŊŅ€Đ°Đ˛Đ¸Ņ‚ŅŅ ŅŅ‚ĐžŅ‚ ŅĐˇŅ‹Đē ĐŗĐžŅ€Đ°ĐˇĐ´Đž ĐģŅƒŅ‡ŅˆĐĩ, Ņ‡ĐĩĐŧ Đ´Ņ€ŅƒĐŗОК. Can you please tell him, I wouldn't betray an owner? Those are her words exactly and... Owner? You own a tiger?" His words were sharp with tightly controlled anger. His eyes flashed a dark color as he tried to control his anger and disgust. Who would own a tiger?

Mickhail made sure that look from Darius would come clean off. She eyed him, even though she was still suffering from unknowable fear in her chest. She waved up a hand and said.

"He does not own that tiger. He helped the tiger when it was harmed... By... Certain events..." she said, the last part feeling a bit guilty.

When it came down to it, this would either be her head or Alex's head and she knew damn well which one deserved it more. She sighed. Covering her pale face with the palm of her hand.

"If this interrogation is over, please may we leave?" she said weakly, it was obvious she was scared out of her mind.

Only because of the most likely bear aided by her second most fear animal, the tiger. She was thinking that sense it was still in a form of a human that she could fool herself so she did not break down and cry. A large flashback of childhood memories is the last thing she needed with her all ready healing body. Fist fights, teeth marks, bruising, scratching, torn clothing and tangled hair, she was not feeling so fresh anymore from when she entered the forest.

Kyra looked at the hunter and blinked. If Alex wasn't an owner then what was he? All her life, she always had a owner she belonged to but now she didn't so who did she belong to. She didn't understand. She was as stray with no home. Shaking her head she took a step back, "She doesn't understand. She doesn't have an owner... So who does she belong to?" Her words were thick with confusion and.... fear? Sadness? She didn't know. She growled, then bolted away for the cave where she hoped no human would dare bother to look.

Darius looked at the hunter, approving the fear he saw there. He glanced in the direction where Kyra took off in and growled. "You humans are always so... Cold. I'm suprised you humans even have hearts. You know what, hunter, go ahead and stay I don't mind your coldness." He slipped out of his human form and became a large grizzly, looked at Rory. "You shouldn't be here either. Wild animals can never truly be tamed and you could hurt the humans if you stay... Whats worser is that you they can hurt you." With those last words he trudged after Kyra, following her scent back to the cave of human sins.

Mickhail shut her eyes and ducked away as the bear began to shift to his animal form. As it went away she was shivering, only to be in arms by Alex which attempted to cheer her up. The last thing she really cared for is what the bastard bear thought of her so called 'coldness' with animals. She sighed, just wanting some peace and quite to think. Then, look who finally shows up, Rory.

"Look, she just left in the middle of the night, and Alex can actually fight, and..."

She gave Rory an odd look, more annoyed and stressed. Rory fixed that simply.

"That... that was me, once, not too long ago. I... I could go talk to him, if you'd like, I know exactly where he's coming from."

She gave him a glare, all ready angry enough at him as it was, only to hear that he has a past similar to her and the bear.

"And excuse my impoliteness, but do either of you need anything? I brought my proper first aid kit this time."

She sighed and left the tent, shaken. She would hope he could tell who was more physically injured at this point. The freshest wound was Alex, so she wanted Rory to help him. Plus, it would be best if she got away from the two for the moment. She was not to pleased with all this. One, Rory, didn't come to help her, he was watching Kyra, who got away from him, and found a bear, who now threatened her and Alex. Two, the bear, and the tiger are working together, which scares her deeply. Three, she is still hated for he past and that was hurting her the most. She wanted to cry, but she didn't. She had enough of being kind for one day.

"God **** that bear!!!" she yelled as she took a blade out of one of the barrels and began slashing at the other tents and kicking boxes.

Basically destroying the left side of the camp in a fit of rage, her hurt arm was now hurting her but she didn't care. She slashed boxes, barrels, tents, campfires, and anything else that was not living. She stopped, and stabbed the blade in mother earth, then held her arm in pain, falling to her knees. She was done blowing steam. She sighed, not wanting to complain anymore, not wanting this anymore. She really didn't have a place to live now. The bear said she could stay but she doubt that. She knew now that it was time to man up a bit. So she attempted to get up, looking back at the two, showing that she was able to be talked too without being slashed.

"Sorry." she said coldly.

She now became flabbergasted by what Rory had said to her.

"Yes, it is true that a few years ago I had the same sort of mindset as that bear. I was bitter and angry, but who wouldn't be after seeing your entire family killed and your home destroyed? But someway, somehow, I began to slowly develop a different mindset. I began to see that me hunting humans was just as bad as humans hunting me. At a deeper level, I began to want to see the end of all this conflict. So, when there came a time where I was with a group of animals and we were trying to hunt... uh... someone important, I didn't go along with it. I let him go."

"That... well, it didn't turn out well for me. Very few of my friends really understood what I was trying to do. Eventually, I was left completely alone for a second time. To make a long story short, that's how I ended up here, living undercover as a cartographer. I became convinced that this way was the only way of finally stopping this stupid war, but I could not find anybody who would listen. I became worried that I was following a dead-end, even though the path I saw was so clear and distinct that I still cannot forget the day I began to understand."

"Now, though, I have a little more hope. You, Alex, seem to get it and, Mickhail, this is what I was trying to teach you, but I'll admit I did so very poorly. This is why I didn't kill you when I could have. That would have been me only being part of the problem. That's why I've been trying to help you, however poorly I've done my job. I wanted you to believe me when I said that I dream for the day when these stupid blades aren't needed anymore."

She watched him walk away, as Alex came up to her with the medical kit from Rory. She didn't know what to say. She had forgot just why she was still around. She almost forgot the dagger after everything she has been threw all day. Though, the memory came back, and so did she began to think that she truly did not change. She thought she was doing well, she went to save Kyra by being captured by the hunters, she thought she was doing good. Though, the disappointment from Rory was more painful than she thought.

She looked up, "Rory wait, I'm sorry... I..."

It was too late, Rory was gone from site, leaving Mickhail in the comfort of Alex. Though she felt empty inside. She looked at Alex, her facial expression would be classified as 'Hurt.'

"I need to look at your shoulder again, I want to make sure its not infected."

She nodded to him, and let him do as he pleased to help her. She was still having Rory's words float in her head.

"Alex... I don't what I can do now... Rory, he has a point. I'm still a violent person but Iv'e changed right? Right?" she was asking herself more than Alex.

"No... I haven't changed, I still want to kill animals, I'm still a hunter." the words stabbed her.

"But, I'm hunting animals like that bear, and humans like... Well, to be honest, like your father." she said coldly.

She doubt that what Alex wanted to hear, but after Rory's little speech, she had to find who she really was.

"I hope you don't think of me differently, but, I can't just sit here in fear of animals. I never stopped hating them, I just ended up fearing them. Though, Rory, I will admit has touched my heart somehow. The same way the blade touched my leg." she mumbled.

She paused before looking at Alex, and hugging him softly.

"And don't get me started on how you touched my heart Alex. You mean a lot to me now and I can't thank you enough for saving me." she said, almost crying now, being that her feelings were stabbed by Rory, she could no longer act weak, but near Alex, that all she could do, is open up to him and show weakness. That was trust, and she trusted him that after what she had said, he would not hate her for it.

Mickhail stopped followed by Alex when Rory came back into view. She was revealed, yet worried, and a bit tense if the bird would question her in her large fur clothing, along with the same blades that he told her that he wished they would not needed to be used anymore. She was about to show uncertainty but it would seem Rory had beet her too it. That made her feel a little better thinking he may not be holding a grudge or fearing her from when she went and slashed up the side of the camp. As Rory began to speak about the very animals Alex and her were after, she could tell he was nervous. He wouldn't even look her in the eye. This made her feel sick, almost as if he knew what she was doing and couldn't stand to look at the evil hunter he so envisioned. Though, she found it ironic, that an x-human hunter like Rory would question the change of the x-hunter Mikhail. She still had in her head she was hunting, though Alex had a much better term in his head, Peacekeeper.

She sighed, and walked up to him, but not touching him, just a few feet away.

"Rory, first, I like to say I am sorry. I didn't ever want you to think that I was going back to my old cruel ways back at the camp. As for your past, it was wrong of me to ever judge you. It was more of the pinching irony of the you saving me, being we were both hunters at one point." she said softly, yet for some reason she felt angered again.

"I don't think of you any differently, I still see you as the one animal who gave me a chance and for that I thank you." she said, she felt something else was needed.

So slowly, trying not to provoke Rory, she attempted to give him a hug for comfort. After that was over she look over at Alex, he face was a bit pale, she was indeed worried about the next thing she was going to say.

"Now, I know this is asking a lot Rory... But, Alex and I agreed on killing the bear. I know you don't think conflict is the answer anymore, and even though your past is full of hypocritical statements, such as mine, I would be honored if you would help us. Don't think of it as hunting, think of as keeping the forest safe from animals and humans alike." she said with a small smile, as she took one of the iron daggers and handed it to him.

"If your going to teach them a lesson, best not cut them in the leg, that bear will not be as phased as I was." she said, knowing her last statement had a lot of confidence that Rory would accept the dagger, as well as the wrongness of what happen yesterday with the two.

Which, even though her leg, the mark was still there. It was more of a symbol of when Rory and Alex changed her life for the better. She would not have it any other way.

"Rory, first, I like to say I am sorry. I didn't ever want you to think that I was going back to my old cruel ways back at the camp. As for your past, it was wrong of me to ever judge you. It was more of the pinching irony of the you saving me, being we were both hunters at one point."

That relieved Rory a little bit. At least Mikhail wasn't angry at him. Although... he didn't see much reason for her to apologize to him. He didn't think it mean of Mikhail to ask him questions about his past: after all, if he can't defend his decisions, why make them?

"I don't think of you any differently, I still see you as the one animal who gave me a chance and for that I thank you."

Rory would have said something here, but at that point Mikhail gave him a hug. He had never really done that before. He had shared affection plenty of times as a sea eagle, but he never really developed any really close friendships since going undercover. It was awkward, but Rory returned the hug as best he could, at least understanding the gesture. Rory held no grudges. She at least understood, and even if she didn't agree, that was enough.

"Now, I know this is asking a lot Rory... But, Alex and I agreed on killing the bear. I know you don't think conflict is the answer anymore, and even though your past is full of hypocritical statements, such as mine, I would be honored if you would help us."

Ice ran though Rory's veins. The request hit him so unexpectedly he stared blankly for few seconds. ...What?

"Don't think of it as hunting, think of as keeping the forest safe from animals and humans alike."

Rory took the dagger from Mikhail, staring at it like he didn't know what it was. He was so conflicted, and he didn't understand why. He had killed humans before, but why now was he so frozen at the idea of killing another animal? Wouldn't that be just creating more of the problem? Something, though, took Rory to an old memory...

Rory was still a fledgling, not quite ready to leave the nest. He and his brother had been talking about life, and about humans. He had never met any humans yet, so to him they were still mysterious creatures that destroyed things. They wondered what a human looked like, and what they did. Their conversation was interrupted, though, as Rory's mom brought a fresh fish to them. Hooray!

Rory ate gleefully, but did ask his mom a question. "Mom, if humans and animals are in this horrible war, why do we kill animals? Aren't we on their team?

Rory's mom just laughed. "Now, what have you boys been dreaming up? Yes, we do need to protect ourselves, but there does need to be a balance. That existed long before humans came here."

Rory didn't remember the rest, but he was beginning to see the point. At that point, Rory looked at Mikhail's fur coat. That, somehow, he was fine with... but why? Rory thought about it for a bit before realizing. That was it! A balance. There was much Rory had to learn yet.

"If your going to teach them a lesson, best not cut them in the leg, that bear will not be as phased as I was."

Rory snapped out of his mental thicket and paid more attention. Ha ha, very funny... Rory was still a little embarrassed about that little leg wound, and about being so conflicted about hunting the bear. Rory chose his words carefully here. "Look, I... I don't feel like I'm in any moral position to argue with either of you. I owe you both something. Yes, I'll help you, but I won't give up the hope of reason. Allow me just that." Rory sighed, drooping his head a little. He wasn't going to like this...

Alex watched the two of them, not feeling like he was suppose to speak right now. this was their moment, and they were going to have to talk it out. Mikhail was right, they weren't hunting to hunt...it was to keep animals and humans alike safe. They were going to have to make sure that this forest, and maybe even places beyond, held a balance. If balance could be achieved, then maybe this senseless hunting would end. Alex hoped that his new dream was one that would be worth fighting for...because his old one was gone. He could no longer only help animals...if an animal like that bear rose up, they would have to put it down, just like if a human rose up and started to over hunt.

Once their moment was over he said, "you can try reasoning with him...but the one I would rather you do it with is kyra..." he sighed and shook his head. "I dont want to have to fight her as well...she is falling to the bear, I know it. He is going to teach the confused tiger how to be just like him..." He said. He gently touched the dagger at his side and sighed softly, knowing this tool would be necessary for this task, and ones in the future. "We should get going, we need to catch them before they do anything." he said.

Mickhail nodded to Rory in approval. Rory had his was of reasoning, but even still, she doubt that he could change the bear's mind, maybe the tiger but she could care less. Better the two dead so they could not harm anyone else. Just because one sick being has a little apprentice that has little idea in the world, it still makes her guilty. So, at this point Mikhail felt like the judge, the jury, and the executioner, while Alex was more of her right hand man, as Rory the left. She smiled at the idea that she almost could play death, or some might say god, but, no, she was a peacekeeper, and nothing worse than that. Mikhail nodded to Alex, and then began to walk in the direction that Rory pointed.

About half way there, Mikhail spoke as they walked.

"So, to stop us being hypocritical if we manege to kill the two. Should we use their fur for clothes and their meat for food? Or should we give them a proper grave?" she asked the two coldly, not caring for the bear or the tiger as animals, but individuals.

"I mean, if we die, they be eating us no problem." she mumbled, in case the all ready disapproving Rory got anymore tense about harming an animal.

She was hopping Alex did not catch the fact that she still had a grudge for the both of them. The bear, well, all bears, for her childhood and home, and the tiger, for her wound. Though, she was doing this for good intentions, she had to much pride to admit that she enjoyed revenge still. Not killing, just revenge, when the job was justice.

'Just this once, I'll let all my bad energy out on that bear, and maybe, well, maybe an arrow in the shoulder so the bitch knows how it feels. Then, it's all justice, no revenge, just balance.' she thought to herself, then giving the two a small, smile, so they didn't try and catch her tense body.

She was nervous the more they got closer, who would not? Her reasons, for being nervous, that is what mattered.

Mikhail nodded, "Then bury them we will... If the humane way is what they deserve after this, that is."

They continued to walk.

Mikhail then heard what Rory had to say, she said nothing at first.

"Respect?" she said to herself, as a boiling anger rose.

She was glad everyone understood the bear's issue but was she the only one that truly thought that the tiger was better off dead?

She was about to continue on with questions, having little idea how it made Rory or Alex feel, for her blood was pumping so much, the feeling that she would fight and win was a good one. Rory suddenly jogged off upfront of them. It was only a little seconds later did Mikhail and Alex heard the yell too. Must of been his eagle hearing that got him going before the other two. She took no time drawing her bow, and an arrow ready and jogged toward the direction herself. She looked at Alex to see if he was okay.

"You ready?" she asked him, more of concern that wonder, a caring voice before it would be hallowed by a demonic rage of conflict.

#, as written by Kuril
Rory tracked the trail of blood until it led him to a thick thistle bush. This wasn't good. Hoping Kyra had won whatever battle this was, and holding his knife at the ready in case he was wrong, Rory tried calling out for Kyra. "Kyra? You in there?" He heard nothing. Going off hope, Rory continued talking. "Look, Kyra, you need to get out of there. We've come to... uh..." Rory didn't feel like explaining this part just yet. "...look, Alex and Mikhail think you've betrayed them going with the bear, and if they find out you've been killing people they'll probably kill you. Do you understand?" Rory was getting emphatic by this point. Kyra getting killed was the last thing Rory wanted. Impatiently, Rory continued, not giving Kyra a chance to answer. If she was there. "I'm coming in there. I'll show you the way out, then we need to figure something out before Alex and Mikhail find us."

It seemed ridiculous saying all this when he didn't even know if Kyra was alive, but he kicked dirt over the blood trail, removed his disguise, and carefully walked through the thicket. Even as a sea eagle, it was a tight fit. Rory didn't have to go far, however, to find out what happened. He could smell it before he got there: human blood, and lots of it. He regretted it, but he could notice that smell from anywhere. When Rory finally got to Kyra, though, it wasn't a pretty sight. Kyra really went to town on this guy. A few years ago, Rory would have been impressed, but now he looked at Kyra. She seemed scared out of her mind. Rory understood: he felt the same way when he did his first kill. It's not something you just do and think "Oh, that's cool." It's brutal how much it messes with your head. This person was there, now he's gone. Rory tried to act as comforting as he could: the worst think that could happen now is for Kyra to freak out. Rory gave a comforting whistle, trying to look non-judging and accepting. He didn't have to fake it: he was really glad Kyra was alive. He motioned back to the exit, hoping Kyra got the message.

It's ok, I've been there before, I know how you feel. Let's work this out.

(Mikhail and ground, fug...)

Mikhail choked for a moment as she laid flat on the ground with a large grapple around her. She heard the bear, and can't believe the bear still gives her a chance to live. She thought that the bear would kill her instantly, though, it might just be a mind game, and she really was going to die, though, if the bear would let her go, she would take the chance.

"Okay.. Okay... We leave." she moaned out.

Her plan, simple, he lets go, she gets up, pulls out sword and stabs the beast. Simple, right? Not her first time attempting to deceive someone. She looked at Alex who was under attack and gasped. Her plan may half to wait if Alex was endangered, and where the bloody hell was Rory? Oh, right there, saving Alex! Wait, now they can't leave. She looked back up at the bear, scared half to death. Her free arm, slowly moving to her dagger.

"Let us go, and you will never... Ugh, see us again." she said again.

Alex felt Kyra on him, but before she could finish him off, Rory tackled her to the ground. He knew that Rory didn't want to hurt kyra...neither did he. But Alex was more willing to if it came down to it. "Rory you handle her..." he said softly and then saw the scene with The bear and Mikhail. He had to help her, the bear would be too much for her to handle on her own, even more so when she was on the ground. He ran over and he watched the bear aiming for Mikhail. Alex knew that he coudln't stop the attack, but he could distract the bear more. He jumped on its back and he started to attack at its head and neck with his fists, forgetting he had the dagger since he never used a weapon before. He always used his fists...they were nonlethal if used right. But now they were being used to kill, attack its eyes and windpipe, trying to even the odds just even a little bit.

Mikahail moved out of the way just in time. Not only did she move out of the way, but the dagger she was getting out was ready and she went to stab the bear in the paw. Not caring if she did stab him or not, she saw that Alex jumped on the bear and hissed. She hated it when he put himself in harms way. She took the chance and got to her feet, and pulling out her sword. Gripping it with two hands she glared at the bear in fury. That bear nearly killed her with those claws. She seen those claw before. She had a mark of them on her back. It felt like the mark of being nothing more but a toy to these animals, and she had enough of that. Time to take out every ounce of anger on this bear. It was life or death now, and she had been ready all day for her life to end. It didn't, so why would it now?

She charged the bear, aiming to slash at it's body, downwards. Giving the bear a warning of her attack without knowing, she yelled, "Alex! Get off of him!"

Kyra was in too much pain that she somehow... Went numb. She watched everything as if she was outside her body, watching from a different perspective. She could see herself on the ground with Rory running around everywhere and Darius talking, but it was odd watching them from her point. Their movements were slower than they should have been and the sounds were muffled as if she was watching from behind a glass wall. She didn't feel anything then, but the sense of just being tired. She was still alive. She didn't know how she knew, but she just knew that she was alive. Then they were trying to communicate with her, but they weren't looking at her, they were looking at her body on the ground. Thump. Thump. Thump. The sound boomed around her, around them. It kept going, becoming slower and weaker, no longer strong and quick. It didn't occur to her that, those sounds, were actually her heart beating She wasn't even really thinking anything, but watching.

Darius stared at Rory for a minute when he started to chew on some plants. He went to fetch more Moss, just in case they needed more. He saw Alex and the female Hunter. He could tell they were running, trying to get away from the scene of the crime. Something burst inside him. His eyes widened for a short period of time, but then he closes them and cocks his head to the right. "I may not like you... I may not entirely understand your kind either, but I do understand Friendship, Kinship and Family. And if you really are Kyra's friend then why are you running? You stabbed her! And your not even going to... Not even trying to help her! A friend, would stay and help clean up the mess he created. So... What kind of friend are you?"

Without waiting for an answer, Darius stalks into the forest locating some trees that held moss. He collected a arm load and practically threw them onto the ground when he returned to the scene of the crime. "I grabbed some more." He snapped at Rory even though the bird didn't say anything. Examining some wounds on her back, her started to place some of the moss on the wounds and sometimes inside them when they were big enough.
