Personality: She is soft and kind, not having given in to the ways of the people that surround her. Lead easily to laughter and joy, she takes pleasure in the little things, ignoring the emptiness left behind from loss long held. She is a cleaver woman, relying on intuition and being weary of strangers to lead her down the right path and a home that will one day be hers.

Back story: Alin was born on the road with the rest of her gypsy family, living on the outer lands and enjoying the freedom of life without restraints. She grew up learning how to be one of the troupe, selected out of her sisters for her unusual looks and easy grace; she learnt fast and was soon supporting the main acts that paid for keep and food. Upon her birth she was watched over by the clan leader, who foretold that she bring hope to the world now closing to their ways. From a young age she felt the weight of this on her shoulders, everything she did was looked at critically, as the elders waited for her to reveal the new path for them.

At the age of 14 she fell in love with a young man called Yoska, whose dark hair and darker eyes bewitched her. His meddlesome ways were exciting to her, bringing out the seldom seen mischievous side and her soul sang for every minute she was by his side. They were the two young gypsies that always found themselves to far into town, where they were not welcome and they rejoiced in running from the closed minded men and women that shushed them away like thieves. Their courtship was intense and without hesitation, throwing themselves into the mystery they saw in each other and clasping it close to their hearts. Though they were deeply in love they held to the laws their parents had set them, Alin never quite losing herself enough to offend the elders that still looked to her for inspiration when hard times came. In the years they spent together she grew into a young adult, taking large and larger parts in entertaining the people who came to see their exotic ways. Always in the shows she loved the feel of his eyes on her as she danced, knowing how he longed for the girl he could not have until of age.

3 months after her 16th birthday she began to show, the swell of pregnancy impossible to hide in her young willowy frame. The elders of her clan gathered to talk, for the first time since she could remember they did not allow her to sit at her mother’s side. Anxiously she waited for many hours, her hand held in the tight grip of her older sisters, who had been surprised at how well she had hidden her secret from them. Her grandmother sat on the edge of their cart, humming an old tune when the footsteps of her mother came, eyes shadowed with guilt. She took her limp hand from her sister and led poor Alin to the side to tell her the news. She would be leaving, her grandmother was about to travel to the settled part of the family; in New York. Alin stood in shock, the idea of being parted from her one lone cutting a whole in her heart. Her hand resting over the slight swell in her stomach, the sign of his child she fled to her sisters, cries unstopping as her mother packed her things to leave that night.

She mourned for her lost love through the pregnancy, knowing that she would not see him till he next came by closer to New York and that would not be till after the birth. The birth itself was easy, exactly as it should have gone other than the fact that it was in hospital rather than at home as she had wished. The doctors were puzzled by her daughter’s white hair for quite some time, insisting they run a few tests on her to make sure everything was ok before she was released. Hours after the birth, her baby was bought to her for her first look. She looked down at the little face, so small and fragile and let out a sigh, she was fine. The small creature that now lay in her arms calmed Alin’s sadness and fury at her clan; giving her the first breath of peace since she had arrived in a city so large and unknown that she could not comprehend its life.

For many years they lived together in peace, her heart now resting with her daughter whose bright smile never failed to cheer her, The only thing that bought sorrow into her world were the twice yearly visits of Yoska, who came to visit them both at first, then only the child. She felt no bitterness towards him, knowing that he could not wait for her forever, but sadness sat in her heart for many years, mourning the loss of her love. At the age of 18 she took her little babe off her hip and gave her to her grandmother, leaving for the first job she had ever had. A friend of the family had connections in some of the less reputable club and had found her an “Opportunity.” as a dancer. Though she had not done so in many years she found the work easy and mind numbing, taking her away from the leering eyes of men to a place where only she belonged. She gained a name for herself as being one of the only women in the business who would not even occasionally give in to the lures of men, ever polite but insistent.

One day while walking home from her nights work a man kept perusing her, following her with worrying ease across the streets she walked home every night. Eventually she hailed a cab, fearful that the man would follow her home to her and brake in on her and her family. It was the first time one of the bouncers had not kept an eye at night and she felt a terror at how vulnerable she was in the city that never ended. The next week she took up self defense lessons, slipping easily into idea with her strong flexible body. She soon became good friend with the knife expert and took to spending her time with the old man, learning from him with little Talaitha on her him and often went to cook for him. One of the few people outside her family she enjoyed his company immensely, sharing her odd old world ways with such an easy going person made her feel free as she had not in many years.

Now she is a well-known dancer, gathering in a modest crowd despite her increasing age; this allows her to ease out of her job slowly. After many request to teach the girl of other clubs she has set up lessons in a small studio that she shares with her old friend, they teach self defense and art in the early evenings before she leaves for her shift. This does not however take from her time with her daughter whom she home tutors three times a week, helping her with more advanced studies than most teenagers her age. She loves her daughter above all things, but deep in her heart she longs for the time when she can once more rejoin her clan with her pride and joy, living freely out of the hustle and bustle of the streets of New York.

First Name: Talaitha
Last Name: Fonso
Shadow name: Soon to be mage…. no name so far!
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Weaponry: Ok with Knives (not good though), enjoys staff and self defence.
Magic: Life deals with Disease, Evolution, Healing, Metamorphosis, and Vigor.
Life is the Arcanum of vital animation, that elusive spark that seperates biological matter from base materials. It encompasses everything from viruses amd bacteria to the most complex plants and animals. With the power on Life, a mage can cause or cure sickness, mend grievous injuries, and even create life forms from nothing. (Will be)

Appearance: She like her mother has taken on the traits of the women of her line, though she dyes her white hair lavender to make it seem fake and therefore ok for her age. She has her fathers deep eyes and her features are more dainty like his (or so her mother tells her). She has exseptionaly long legs for her age, giving her an gawky tall frame that she hates (5ft5) standing head and shoulders above those of her age. She tends to try to look as normal as possible without offending her family, but it is a fine line between floaty and weird (or so she thinks)
Image
Personality: A feisty young girl who wants both to respect her family and fit in with the other people, people not of her clan. She is a bubbly personality, taking much joy in life; all she truly wishes for id to find the place she fits, whether it be with the gypsies or in the city. Occasionally difficult and wilful, she tries her best to behave as a young girl should in everyone's minds.

Back story: Bought up in a nest of the gypsy world, without ever touch the road they traveled, was an difficult way to live. When she was younger she used to ask constantly why they were not allowed to rejoin their kinsmen, ignoring her mothers looks of pain whenever she bought it up, thinking her only selfish. She longed for the ever winding road and to see all the things her father told her about his life, but never really knew what it was. As a child she would build dens in the living room for hours, dragging out of her mothers things that had the look of magic; ignoring the ever watchful eyes of her gnana. She grew up quickly, speaking early and learning things almost to fast for her two careers to keep up with!

At the age of four she went to school pre-school, only three times a week, but in that time she grew to know just how different she was from other children. They wanted to be such a wide variety of thing, things and people that she often did not understand or know of having led such a sheltered life. Soon though she began to request clothes that looked like the other girls, not understanding the looks of incomprehension from her mother. She grew up quickly, making few friends, often finding them to young or stupid or rather they found her to difficult to deal with, she was an outsider. She was however much loved by her teachers, as polite as she had been bought up she way a joy besides the difficult and unruly children that often came their way.

When she went into high school she found that it was a lot easier, associating herself with the smarter children of her year. She now knew that she was not meant to be a part of the popular world, to tall and lanky, she stood above both the girls and boy. She turned to studies, bonding with her mother over the time they spent together learning at home. However she grew to become sorrowful in bouts, blaming her family for her status as an outcast. She loathed that her mother had a job that seemed so demenial beside her fellow classmates parents, thinking that this was yet another reason that she didn’t fit in. These feelings did not impede on her time with her mother and Tom, the Knife wizard, the only two people she both enjoyed and repected.

Extra: Can be difficult and headstrong, loves animals and has a weak kinship with them.
