The world is caught up in their business and activities. The idea of myths and legends were just what they were, myths and legends. Humans lived peacefully on the Earth, of course, besides the occasional war. They were unaware of the things happening under their noses, knowing the true definition of blissful ignorance, but not understanding it.

The "things" happening under their noses were the lives of things, not so human...creatures unlike anything humans could imagine. Some, they have imagined though. Others, they have already seen, but are not ready to believe the true accounts already written in history's books. They live their lives, trusting scientific advances instead of what their eyes could really see...the little imps controlling machinery, the dragons in volcanoes, the sirens in the Bermuda Triangle...they're all there. Some in plain sight, looking as human as the next person. No one wants to see them though. Or, they just don't want to believe an "overactive" imagination. While all humans can see what's right in front of them, they subconsciously decide to block it out...or at least, some. Some humans can see them...but disbelieve it. Others, believe it and live with it, sometimes with them.

However, in this day and age, some of them feel it's not right for them to live such a low standard of life in the shadow of humans. A large scale display of sheer destruction is planned across the world, in the wake of a revolt. Creatures a banding together to destroy human establishments, and place them on the bottom of the food chain, while others are gearing up to oppose this atrocity of what has happened for so long already.

An elaborate plan to promote anti-human behavior and war has been planned by two demons. Lyon and Koumori. Lyon has legions of demons under his influence and control already, and plans to use them to full effect. Which is the reason Koumori, his right-hand man, is controlling them henceforth. Koumori has gathered forces around the world. They are ready to show themselves and propagandize the human race.

"So, what is this, surprise you're planning, Koumori?"

"Don't worry, you'll see it, Lyon."

The two stood before the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting pool, looking on at the Washington Monument, in the night time lighting that shines over the entire perimeter. The lights made it seem more like midday, then three in the morning. For the night, Koumori, a demon bat, had been staging the destruction of such an iconic and historical landmark. As he has had his comrades do for other such monuments around the world.

"If they don't notice this, then we aren't dealing with the same arrogant, prideful humans anymore." Koumori constantly checked his watch, waiting for the moment he would cause the greatest scare on the Earth in the history of mankind.

"If it so happens that this should fail, it's your head that will appear, mounted on my wall, providing me with another trophy, and a hunter with a hefty reward." Lyon, a shape shifting wyrm, formerly looked to for great wisdom and motivation, now shunned because of his ideals of humans being pitiful insects, needing to be taught their place.

Koumori reluctantly nodded as he watched his superior pace back and forth, his eyes focused at the edifice ahead. Koumori checked his watch again, and grinned. The moment was about to arrive. The moment that these buildings would be destroyed by the demons faithful to Lyon's cause. These buildings that humans hold so near and dear...

"Let's see these insects squirm..."

I'll allow 4 characters, but with each, I expect a paragraph or more. If they so happen to be in a situation where less then a paragraph can really be said, I'll understand, but, you can expand it with the environment, or thoughts and feelings.
Not all characters have to be in the same place in the world. Mix it up. Just have a purpose for them being in that particular area.
Koumori is up for grabs until I decide to take him/her in as my own (if you want him to be a her, yes, I will change the whole intro!)
The RP will begin as the disaster occurs.
