Introduction
Over the past century, the world has become more and more unstable. Catastrophic natural disasters were discovered to not be so natural. Global warming and natural progression of the Earth's temperature shifts was sending Earth into a new ice-age. Approximately, lasting hundreds of years.
2085
Independent researcher, scientist, philanthropist, and single father, Rodney Goff, released a thesis stating that the human race could not live on the planet without major adjustments to their way of life. The world would change and there was no turning back for what was about to come. The government dismissed his claims and the scientific community shunned him and discredited his following research.
He would then begin building the Cassio. He sponsored the ship with the money he gained from prior research in the field of nuclear physics, where he discovered cold fusion. He built a ship big enough for a crew of 7, but can be flown with one with the aid of the automated personnel assistant program. A unique artificial intelligence that managed the ships most integral systems.
2096
When this news came to light of the general public, the world had already began building the colony ships in the lagrange point between the Earth and the moon. New technologies were implemented into the colonies systems as well as an assortment of other repair and logistics ships.
When the government reached out to Rodney Goff for help, he would refuse them. This further stretched the tension between the governments and Rodney.
2096
Rodney Goff was killed in an alleged hit and run car accident.
2097
Rodney's daughter Robyn finishes her father's work on building the ship. Once finished, Robyn launches the Cassio.
2098
The ARC is launched with only a select few from each contributing country to the project. No projectile weapons are allowed on board due to the risk of puncturing a pressure wall. The few thousand were loaded onto the ship via shuttle between the Earth and the shipyard.
The ARC launches
Now the ARC and the Cassio are on their way to the stars. What or who would they encounter on their trip to, hopefully, their new home?
