Age: Though he was born several hundred years ago by Earth-time, Bertram is quick to point out that time is relative across the multiverse, and does not flow at the same speed in all worlds.

Profession: Bertram has left numerous investments and small fortunes across the worlds he has visited, spending a considerable effort in ensuring that he never has to pin himself down as a working man.

Personality

Drake is a serious person, and on the occasions that he gives in to his sense of humor, it proves to be wry and subdued. When focused a goal or person, he does so passionately, and this tendency towards obsession is responsible for his extraordinary magical talent as well as his mastery of arcane theory. He is civil without being snobbish, and educated without being a know-it-all.

Equipment

Typically, Bertram wears subdued-yet-fashionable and carries a cane, and little else. However, his skill with Creation magic means that whatever he needs is a flash of smoke and flames away.

History

Bertram Drake was born on Earth, and lived a wealthy life as a banker. He took up magic, and eventually made contact with a Visitor calling himself Sparrow. A chaotic creature, Sparrow agreed to teach Bertram how to hold onto his soul beyond death in order to become a Visitor in exchange for the freedom to wander Earth once Bertram had learned the process. Sparrow spent decades causing mischief and mayhem until Bertram finally took it upon himself to track him down and correct his mistake. Armed with a mastery of fire and smoke, he was eventually able to banish Sparrow, but died soon after of injuries sustained in the fight. Having traveled as a wanderer for some time now, he has grown in power and skill, and has found a talent for Creation magic.
