The record company had signed them several years back, and it proved to be their most successful investment, leading to a series of other ventures that paid off. They were the metaphorical City of Gold for their label, and they could do no wrong. For years they toured the region, then the country, then the world, filling out arenas and stadiums like their heroes before them had. Their image was flawless, their music was true to their roots, and they were all famous beyond their wildest dreams. They played a mix of covers that they each selected individually and their own material which was a hybrid of their tastes.

This had gone on for a few years, and the lifestyle began to catch up with them. The public awaited another album, or a single, or anything remotely related to the band, but the boys just weren't ready to keep going yet; they hadn't been stationary for more than a week in almost a year after their last tour, and not for long prior to that. They'd heard the stories about a band named Midnight's Dreamers, blowing themselves out and making them fall into a pit, and they didn't want the next casualty to be one of them. Their label, Exploding Panorama, wasn't willing to let their cash cow take a break, and decided to strike a deal with the weary stars-they would be allowed to settle down for a time in a house in L.A., under the condition that they also live there with a new band for a few months and show them the ropes. The new band were, all girls, with only one album under their belt, freshly released. They weren't heading out on a tour to support it until after their stay with the boys, but they were all ready to go, and not too concerned about the desires of the label. The boys, too tired to think through the consequences of their deal with the devil, signed on for an extended break. Both bands are arriving on the same day, and the mansion is fully stocked with staff, belonging to the label. The bands don't know what to think, but both did agree to go unanimously, for their own reasons.
