The Beginning:
Disaster struck in the year 2050. Every great country in the world each released weapons of mass destruction, thus creating a nuclear war. But the war ended as soon as it had begun without the humans realizing what they had done. Their precious Earth was ripped open, blistered and bleeding from destruction the humans had brought to it. People died, land collapsed into the ocean, and water crashed upon the lands still standing while the Earth howled and roared in agony. The world was in utter chaos.
Mother Nature, desperate to save the innocents of this catastrophe, used all her strength to shield the animals from being swept off the furious Earth. Soon after, she vanished and left the animals to survive on their own.
With the Shaking (the name selected for the disaster) over a new problem erupted. A 5 year plague fell upon the animals, killing the weak minded and mutating the strong willed. As a result of the mutation, some of the animals developed mysterious powers.
With these powers, the animals knew they could rebuild their Earth, but how to do so was the question. They all had different answers. Some wanted use their newly acquired power to go out and find Mother Nature, believing that she should be returned to her rightful place as the Queen of all living things; The Wanderers. Others wanted to use them to make to start a new and better life; The Starters. But some animals deemed that they did not, in fact, need Mother Nature, assuming that they could use their powers to learn and build an empire where all animals would live and work together peacefully; The Reformers. At that point in time, it looked like the world was on its way to a recovery, no matter how shaky that recovery was.
Unfortunately, when 2100 rolled around, chaos returned to Earth. The Reformers hatched a brilliant idea to start building bizarre creations, concoct poisons, and construct weapons of complete annihilation. Their plan, to rebuild the wounded Earth into something better, more powerful than any human could have ever made it. With their quick wit, and seemingly more intelligent words, they persuaded their less clever brothers into using their powers against others for the β€˜sake of technology’. Out of all the Reformers, the Apes were the most cunning. Because of this, the Apes believed themselves to be royalty among the other animals, but the Wanderers and Starters are against this. With the beginning of a hierarchy, it is destroying all of the hard work they have put in to make the Earth a place of equality. History is bound to repeat itself. Will it end in the destruction of the world, or will Mother Nature reveal herself and finally bring peace to this troubled planet?

Culture:
After the Shaking, the animals have changed some major parts of their culture. Today animals have stopped interacting with each other as predator and prey in order to unite themselves more strongly. It is considered a great crime to consume another animal. Because of mutations, animals who have previously been meat eaters can now consume plants. Due to the Shaking's radiation, all animals are able to live as long as humans and age at the same rate as humans once did.

Clans:

~Wanderers~
Wanderers are animals who believe in finding Mother Nature and returning her in her rightful place; Queen of all living things. These animals live on Eramaa and mostly travel in groups of two or three, but they also have a few permanent cities. It is rare to find a Wanderer that travels alone.
The leader of the Wanderers is a Chief. Because the Wanderers are always on their own quests to find Mother Nature, the Chief only guides his/her animals instead of physically controlling them. Some of the major responsibilities of the Chief are to control trading with the other clans, declaring war with other clans if needed, and planning expeditions to find Mother Nature (which the animals are not forced to join).
When something important is about to happen or is happening, the Chief calls for a meeting that is located at the Eramaa capital, Foresta. Before these meetings, messengers are sent out throughout the world to spread word of the meeting. Wanderers of all shapes and sizes then make their way to Foresta to hear what the Chief has to say.
The Wanderer’s main source of income comes from the forests in which they live. Because Eramaa is full of abundant plant life, new and useful plants are being found everyday. These plants can be gathered and traded to other clans to gain other useful items. Most of the plants that are gathered are either exotic fruits, herbs used in medicine, or poisons. These plants can also be used as pay for jobs. Sense Eramaa is mostly covered in trees; the Wanderer’s also have a large export of wood.

Instead they have faith that she will return to them someday. Starters live on Tansanko where they use the abundant farmland to their advantage. They rarely travel unless they need to.
The Starter’s leader is not a Chief like the Wanderers, but a President. The President has a permanent residence at the Tansanko capital, Piazza. Sometimes he/she will travel around Tansanko to solve problems within Starter communities. The President’s responsibilities are similar to the Wanderer Chief’s responsibilities: control of trade with other clans, planning meetings, and declaring war if needed. To become President, animals must be of age (or an adult) and be chosen by their home city to represent them in an election. Once all seven cities have chosen a representative, a national election takes place. Whoever gets the most number of votes wins and becomes President.
Sense the Starter’s live on Tansanko, a vast plains land with good soil for growing, the Starter’s main exports is food. Animals who own their own farms harvest their crops and keep the majority of it. A small amount goes to the government of Tansanko so it can be traded with other clans for other useful materials the Starters need.

~Reformers~
The Reformers are animals that crave knowledge and are masters of technology. After the Shaking, the Reformers dedicated themselves to investigate all the Human’s past activities to insure that the same problem will never happen to the animals. As the years flew by, they became greedy with the knowledge they possessed and began to recreate items that the Humans used. Soon enough they started making weapons and concoctions that enhanced their bodies and minds.
The Apes are the leaders of the Reformers that rule their followers for their own gain. The Reformers have a King instead of Chief or a President. Because the Apes have knighted themselves the rulers of the Reformers, the King is always an Ape. It is customary that the crown is passed down from father to first son after the former has died. If the King only has daughters, the oldest daughter is wed to a chosen Ape that is high in the government and then he becomes king. It’s a wonder the Reformers don’t call their government a dictatorship. The King controls everything; He controls trade with other clans, declares was, is the main General of the military, creates laws for the animals of the Kingdom to follow, decides what goes on in the research and development department (a group of scientists that work on creating secret weapons and experiment on animals to make them stronger), and plans massive gatherings to brainwash the kingdom.
All Reformers live on Kiivas, the continent hit the hardest during the Shaking and the most unstable. Because Kiivas has lots of left over Human creations (metal beams, buildings, weapons, ect) the Reformers are able to salvage those items and use them to create whatever they desire. There are also a lot of mines on Kiivas that they use to mine precious metals which are exported to other clans to be used for different odds and ends. Reformers get their money mostly from large amounts of taxes the King forces on his civilians. The Army comes and collects the taxes by force, civilians are fined if they resist.

Environment:
The environment on earth has changed drastically. Because of the massive force brought on by the Shaking, land masses have been ripped, melted, and in extreme cases, combined with each other. In the year 2100, there are 3 liveable continents known; Eramaa, Tansanko, and Kiivas. These three land masses have been regarded as homes to the Wanders, Starters, and Reformers. To get from one continent to another, land animals travel on floating docks pulled by sea animals to move from one land mass to another. Fortunately for animals that can fly, they can just fly over the oceans to get to other land masses.

Image

~Eramaa~
Eramaa is a combination of both Canada and Europe. Both former land masses were ripped apart from their original positions and combined when their northern corners melted into each other. Because their northern corners were combined, it created a dangerously deep lake in the center of the continent, Lake Cratere. Although debris of buildings and other human inventions are scattered across the continent, the land is mostly covered with forests filled with trees and other plant life. This abundance of plant life gives the Wanderers plenty of life saving medicines, lumber, poisons, and exotic fruits. In Eramaa there is seven major cities: Nord (the farthest north), Forte (hidden in the eastern mountains), Foresta (the capital of the Wanderers and located in the center of the continent), Ancora (the farthest West), Lago (near Lake Cratere), Monte (where the country Italy used to be), and Basso (the farthest South). There are also a total of four docks.

Image

~Tansanko~
Tansanko was formally the United States and South America. The South America portion has curled up and stretched out so it surrounds the U.S. portion in almost a spiral. There is some diverse plant life; however most of Tansanko is plains land with many types of mutated grasses that rage in color and shape. There is only one mountain range along with the vast plains lands that the Starters use for farming. The radioactive soil is best for growing plants that have survived The Shaking and adapted. Fortunately the animals are immune to the radioactivity because of the five year plague that started after the Shaking so they are able to eat what they grow. Like Eramaa, there are seven major cities in Tansanko: Rupe (the farthest north and closest to the mountains), Radura (nestled in the northern forests), Piazza (the capital of the Starters and located in the center of the continent), Fattoria (the largest farming city), Levante, Baia, and Coda (the three cities on the β€œtail” of the continent). Tansanko also has four docks.

Image

~Kiivas~
Kiivas was formally Africa and Asia. Being the area that was hit the hardest during the Shaking, deep craters and magma pits are scattered all across the continent, which the Reformers use to forge weapons. Most of the metal structures have survived the Shaking, giving the Reformers lots of resources to experiment and invent along with the lava pit forges. There are no native plants that grow on Kiivas (except for the occasional weed), but the Reformers have found a way to sustain plants in greenhouses. To make up for the lack of plants, Kiivas has many mountains, mines, and ruins left behind by the humans, all of which are used for the Reformer’s creations. Kiivas also has seven major Reformer cities: Distante (the farthest north), Grotta (in the western mountains), Impero (the Reformer capital city that is shielded by mountains), Solo (the only eastern city with a dock), Rovine (the farthest south), Incendio (the farthest west), Avanzato (the only city connected to two mines and a dock). Kiivas also has four docks.

Tracking: Gives the animal the ability to track other animals. Lets the animal visualize the other animal and instinct will tell them exactly where they are on the planet. (The animal needs to have seen the other animal directly in order to track.)

~Infliction~
Infliction powers control the mind and other elements of life that are too complicated to be considered a power in the other two groups.

Mind Reading: Gives the animal the ability to read minds of other animals.
Shadow: Gives the animal the ability to control shadows. Lets the animal turn to mist in the shadow and the ability to conjure darkness and transform it into a melee weapon. Weakness: Light.
Poison: Gives the animal the ability to control poisons. Lets the animal wield poison in the air and be immune to it. Cannot conjure poisons, but can carry it around in a container or injected into the animals own body.
Transformation: Gives the animal the ability to transform into other living beings(not inanimate objects) that they have seen, directly or indirectly. However the animal cannot posses the other being’s powers.
Light: Gives the animal the ability to control light. Lets the animal glow brightly to blind enemies(only for a few seconds) and the ability to conjure light and transform it into a ranged weapons(bow and arrow and guns with bullets)(no melee weapons).Weakness: Shadow.

Mother Nature

When man was born-The Shaking and beyond

The first of man was born from my womb. I was with them for everything. I was there when they took their first step. I was there when they said their first words. I was there when they lost their first tooth. They were my prized children. Unlike my other wonderful children, man craved knowledge and became quick learners. Mankind began to understand concepts that were too complicated for the others. This is what separated my children between animal and human. While the animals called the inner workings of the universes simply life, mankind called it science.

A chain of events began to unfold that I had never seen before. Order greater than what the animals already created, an idea entitled government, emerged and took shape with man’s quick minds. With this tool, men were able to live together in vast numbers where as the animals lived in their own small worlds. With government came technology, a way of using resources to produce objects of usefulness to make living essentially better. Men were able to make their lives easier, making more technology and having more free time; something the animals never had between hunting, foraging, and surviving. They were also able to live in the most extreme area where only a few animals ventured. With technology came transportation and communication, a way of moving around the planet more effectively as well as sharing information between civilizations around the world. Groups of animals could live for decades without knowing anything about others of their own kind, but the humans were all connected with each other. Before long, man’s population grew to monstrous proportions.

At first, I was loved and praised by all of my children. However, the humans (caught up with all of their ideas and creations) started to lose memory of me. I am always in wonder on how this happened; after all, what kind of child forgets their own mother? They began to hunt their animal siblings into extinction not once stopping to think about the consequences. They only thought of the profit. Forests were cut down, gaping holes were drilled deep into the Earth, waste was pumped into the oceans, and pollutants stained the once clean air. Most of my work in keeping the world from falling apart involved cleaning up their messes. I was denounced from mother to maid.

As I cleaned up after my prized offspring, they fought violently against one another. Two world wars raged in the span of fifty years, both costing many lives. Governments became superpowers and taunted one another, causing even more wars. Years past and still wars of every size and every kind continued to grow and grow. Weapons of unmentionable power were tested all around the Earth. My animal children grew frightened with the impenetrable sense of impending doom. I felt myself being drained; I had to keep cleaning up the humans mess, attempt to calm down my children, and endure the increasing pain that came with each test of the weapons all the while try to think of a way to stop another catastrophe.

On that fateful day, chaos erupted. Everything seemed to be happening at once. Weapons were released, land was ripped apart, and the screams of my dying children rang in my ears. Pain, terror, panic, horror echoed in the atmosphere. Earth and all its inhabitants were dying, and it only took a press of a button. Without thinking, I used all of my power to shield the remainder of my animal children from the destructive powers of the weapons. I waited and watched my precious children disappear off of the face of the planet. Even though they cried out in pain, I could not help them, for if I did the same disaster would surely happen again. Once Earth was calm and the dreadful screaming ceased, I released the animals from my arms and felt myself drift into darkness.

It was as if I was in a coma. I could see what was going on, but I couldn’t move. I watched as a five year plague swept across the planet. More and more of my children that were left died. Their suffering was constant for fifteen long years after the disaster they called The Shaking for I was too weak to even let rains fall. After a terrible long wait, I was able to help the earth grow plants to feed the animals. I have been steadily regaining my strength the years after The Shaking; flowers were growing healthy, fruits are becoming juicer, and the animals are becoming stronger. Together, no matter how slow it is, we are beginning anew.

April 12, 2100

There has been an excessive amount of rain in the continent of Eramaa. Because of the rain, Lake Cratere has risen two feet, a startling amount to the town of Lago. Although none of the flooding has reached the town, the animals are still worried if it will raise even more with more rain. In eastern Eramaa there have been recent mudslides from the mountains. The town of Forte is now covered in mud. Few have died and many are homeless, injured, and missing.

In Tansanko, Starter civilians have been noticing something strange along the north-eastern coast close to Fattoria. Beaches have been forming ever sense the Shaking, but this particular area of beach has changed. Instead of the sand being white or even tan, the sand has become rainbow. Civilians are troubled by this event and what an understanding of this phenomenon. Besides the rainbow sand, the Starters have had a very successful winter season with a surplus of winter crops. Harvesting has started today.

Plates close to Kiivas in the central ocean have moved, causing an earthquake along the continent’s western edge. The Avanzato dock has been damaged and is in need of repairs. The town of Grotta is worried about future rockslides from the mountains. Even with all of the troubling predictions, the earthquake was fairly small and hasn’t damaged much of the Reformer civilization.

Ozymandius

Looking over the newest sample of stained glass, President Ozymandius of Tansanko nodded his approval. "Good work lads. I will dispatch another guild to the beach to set up operations, so that this rare find can be mass produced" Ozy instructed, making sure to announce his intentions. Such openness was good for his political figure, it gave his subjects a feeling of reliability in the government. As the small group of engineers left for the beaches once again to capitalize on this strange phenomenon, Ozy took a moment to take stock of his countries position. Tansanko was practically in a golden age at the moment, wherever one went wealth seemed to be abound. The Tansanko Trading Company was bringing in record profits (and thus record taxes), thanks to reforms in the fleet to make use of wind power, farmers had enough substance to live on and then some, thanks to reforms in produce storage and distribution, and the governments approval rating was almost unanimously supportive, thanks to tight control on propaganda and carefully chosen public works. However, in regards to foreign affairs, it was a different story.

The problem is rooted in the ever increasing Tansanko population. With everyone being fed due to the prosperity, not many are dying off, resulting in a mass population boom. With ever decreasing space and a rise in energetic youth, the citizens of Tansanko are pleading for new land. Public opinion of the other two countries does not help either. While Tansankians get along just fine with those of Kiivas, they receive a lot of their manufactured goods from there, public opinion of Eramaa is constantly falling, not helped by the fact that recent wood imports have stopped due to mud slides. In short, the people were one spark short of demanding a war for the colonization of Eramaa, justified by the fact that they are such a "backwards society". They seem to forget that their president once came from these primitive lands. In fact, Ozy seems to forget that fact himself sometimes.

"Is that all sir?" a voice was heard to say. Ozy snapped back to the present and nodded his approval. "Yes, send for Ms. Nikki and Mr. Reginald at once. I have an errand for them." Ozy instructed, sending the young ferret off that he had called for just minutes ago. Strange, he had to have a messenger to fetch his messengers. Shrugging, he went back to admiring the stained glass samples that now adorned the inside of the capital building.

Razzul Whisperpaw

Location: Foresta

The sound of drizzling rain made a calming sound against the roof of the Chief’s old log cabin, a major contrast to the violent storms Eramaa has received in the past week. The tiny cabin was only one room with only a few furnishings. A block of wood sat in the back to serve as a desk, a tattered looking rug from the human times was crumpled along the wooden floor to the right as a sort of bedding, and along the left wall was an elaborate collection of maps, some even dating as far back as 1980. It was in front of these maps that the Wander Chief Razzul stood, studying the map of Eramaa.

Image

Due to recent storms, three fourths of Forte (Eramaa’s mountain town) had been resurfaced by mud. Word of the natural disaster had reached the Chieftains ears earlier this week, just two days after the incident. Razzul had thought they would send him information about the population and not just the condition of the town, but he was disappointed. The mayor of Forte, being one of the biggest airheads in history, only sent a messenger to inform the Chief of the destruction as well as calculations of the damage cost. Although these statistics were useful, the wolf would have been more satisfied with all the details. In the case of an emergency like this one, numbers of the dead, missing, and injured should have come first and costs later. The Chief sent an urgent message back to the mayor to request all of the information as soon as possible, so far there has been no reply. Because of the lack of communication Razzul was planning to arrive at the scene himself. The whole ordeal was starting to give Razzul a headache.

β€œI should have received notice of Forte’s activities yesterday. It shouldn’t take this long for something as simple as a headcount.” The green and white wolf was beginning to pace up and down the length of the cabin with his head bowed in deep concentration. β€œUnless something even worse has happened… This is not good.” Because of the recent disaster, Razzul has slowed all logging in fear of loosening more earth that could fuel another mudslide. This may seem a little drastic, but in his opinion it’s better to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately, the Starter government didn’t share the same opinion. The Starters are angered that the exports of wood have lessened, putting a great stress on the Chief. There were two possible solutions: he could increase wood exports to satisfy the Starter’s needs thus endangering his citizens or he could completely stop exports until the rains have stopped to keep the Wanderers safe, causing the Starters to become even angrier. Razzul has gone with the second choice, again supporting his opinion of being β€˜more safe than sorry’.

Exhausted with his internal debate, Razzul laid down on his rug, placing his furry head on his paws. A knock came at the door. β€œChief Razzul, its Boris sir. A messenger is here to see you.” The deep rough voice of one of the Chief’s guard sounded from outside. β€œEnter.”
The wooden door opened and revealed a large black bear accompanied by a slightly frightened looking YariguΓes brush finch. Boris, the black bear entered the room, practically pushing the finch along with him until the small bird sat right in front of the wolf. Boris then moved back against the wall all the while making the floorboards creek with his weight. The bird before the Chief cringed with each of the bear’s footsteps.

ImageImage

β€œPlease ignore my friend the bear. I will make sure that he will not harm you in any way.” The wolf stated, smiling softly down at the poor bird.
β€œY-yes sir!” The bird chirped. β€œI have a message from the mayor of Forte.” He began to shuffle items around in his small bag before he pulled out a small folded piece of paper. He unfolded the paper with his beak, cleared his voice, and read. β€œ Dear Chief Razzul, we have undergone procedure to find the information you are seeking. Due to this week’s recent tragedy a total of nine animals are dead, thirteen are missing, and thirty-two are injured severely. In my years as mayor of Forte I have never seen such destruction. This has to be the biggest disaster in Wanderer history. It is difficult to even walk here without slipping. It’s like something I’ve never seen before. That is all.” The brightly colored bird concluded. For a while Razzul was silent, taking in all he heard and replaying it over and over to himself. Nine dead, thirteen missing and thirty-two injured. The mayor was right; this is the biggest tragedy in Wanderer history.

β€œAlso Chief Razzul, I have heard rumors from some travelers that have recently been to Tansanko that there has been some sort of mysterious event.” He paused to let that sink in. β€œThey say that there is a beach close to Fattoria that has turned… rainbow. I don’t know if that interests you or not.” Rainbow beaches? Now that did interest Razzul greatly. Anything strange and new may point to Mother Nature, something that should interest all Wanderers. β€œIs that all?” The wolf asked the bird. β€œYes sir. That is all.” Satisfied with the information he had received, Razzul dismissed the messenger.

β€œRainbow beaches. Ha! What a load of baloney don’t you think so Razzul?” Boris the bear asked when the bird left. β€œCall it what you want, my friend. I believe that these so called rainbow beaches could point us in the direction of Mother Nature.” The bear snickered. β€œHmm… I’ll believe that when they prove that humans could talk.” Said the Guard laughing. Razzul couldn’t help but chuckle.

β€œSo what are you planning, Mr. Chief Sir? I know that look in your eye.” Boris asked in a curious tone. β€œI’m thinking that we need to go on a little vacation. Get the Guards ready. We are going to see what has become of our mud swallowed down. Also, Boris, please send in another messenger. I’m going to send a note to the President of Tansanko.” The black bear nodded and head out of the cabin with the floor boards creaking.

Razzul began to work on a letter to President Ozymandius at his desk. Using his teeth to hold a pen, he began to write:

Dear Mr. President,
I have received word that one of Tansanko’s beaches is a bit different from other beaches. This fact interests the Wanderer community for every new thing not already investigated may have a chance of being connected with Mother Nature. I am asking for your permission to send a group of my explorers to investigate the happenings of this β€˜Rainbow Beach’. Also on the issue of wood exports, I can assure you that we are doing all we can to begin logging again, but at this moment in time logging will need to postponed until the storms we are having end. Logging forests causes the earth to become lose making it more vulnerable for mudslides. As you have already heard, Eramaa has had a major mudslide, which destroyed one of our cities. I will take all the necessary precautions to ensure that his doesn’t happen again anytime soon. I will keep you updated in our progress.
Your comrade,
Razzul Whisperpaw

Once he was content with his letter, the Chief gave it to his messenger, a stunning white mare named Stella, to be delivered directly to the President himself. Although the journey may take up to a week and a half, Razzul was confident that it wouldn’t be too late to inform Ozymandius of the wood export problem. When the messenger disappeared though the forest, Razzul headed over to the Guard’s quarters. They were to begin their journey immediately.

Comet

Comet yawned and stretched, blinking her sapphire blue eyes sleepily. She walked out of the guards quarters and padded towards the river nearby. She lapped up some water and took a swim, before returning to her home. Comet stood quietly and groomed herself. "Maybe I should practice my powers to make them stronger." Just then, Boise came in. Comet immediately straightened herself. "Yes?" Boise grunted. "Razzul wants us to go traveling with him somewhere." Comet stiffened but relaxed just as quickly. " Very well." Comet knew her face was heating up, though she was glad her thick fur covered it. It was lays like this when it came to Razzul. Comet nodded and walked outside, only to see Razzul walking towards her. "Where are we going to investigate Razzul?" Comet knew her voice was higher than normal, even more than her normally childish voice. Comet mentally groaned. 'I've so given myself away this time!'

Todd

Meat had never tasted so good. As the weak fox tore into his cached meal on the outskirts of Foresta, he reflected for the first time on how he had come to this state. It had all started when he was journeying through the mountains in south of Forte. He had been just fine up there in seclusion until those blasted rains had come. He didn't even get the chance to take shelter! Anyhow, he had decided to grin and bear it until he had come to a perfect place to take shelter, a nice depression in the side of a small ravine. The problem was, it was too shallow to keep him dry, so Todd had decided to dig into it a little bit. The mud came away easily. Too easily. It wasn't until water was spewing out of the mud wall that Todd realized that he had just dug a hole in an old Eramaan levee.

Well you can probably guess what happened from there. The dike burst eventually, washing Todd and the muddy water down the mountain with it, leaving the unfortunate fox somewhere in the middle of the forest, lost an disorientated. He had managed to get out of the main current of the mudslide, and he eventually slowed to a stop. As any creature knows, getting a leg stuck in mud is one thing, getting it out is the other, especially when he had both hind legs properly submerged. Took him the rest of the day to get free of the mess. The following morning (he had slept like a log after exhausting himself try to extract his legs), the red fox awoke blind. After a brief episode of panic, he realized that he had mud caked on his eyes, and no amount of scratching and pawing could dig it off. Had Todd not blindly stumbled upon a small pond, he may have starved.

After an hour spent washing the mud from his eyes and the rest of his body while he was at it, Todd was exhausted and weak with hunger. Had the fox not had enough foresight in the past to store his various caches of leftover meat at various places on the island, he may have perished. After all, he was too weary to go look for berries or fruits, and the starches in most grasses didn't agree with him. So, when Todd had miraculously discovered his food storage near Foresta, he did not care the relative danger he was putting himself in being so near the capital, nor the fact that the scent of blood tended to permeate the surrounding air with ease. All he could think of was one thing: Meat had never tasted so good.

Razzul Whisperpaw

The Wanderer Chief was on his way to the guard quarters, when noticed Comet, one of the guards. β€œWhere are we going to investigate Razzul?” The blue spotted jaguar asked in a strangely high voice as if she was startled. Raising an eyebrow, Razzul answered: β€œDidn’t Boris tell you?” The wolf sighed. β€œI keep telling him that all that training is going to his head. He’s been forgetting things lately. Anyway, I assume you have heard about the recent mudslide in Forte? Well the mayor has just informed me of the damages to both the town and the animals. The numbers of deaths and the critically wounded are staggering. If I can, I wish to help the survivors of this tragedy. So, in short, we are to be headed over there immediately.” He nodded as if agreeing with himself. Looking at β€œLets get the guard ready. If we make haste in our journey, we might be able to make it there before nightfall.”

He then gestured for Comet to follow him in the guard quarters. The building where the guards live is built inside a hill not too far away from the Chief’s cabin. On the outside it doesn’t look like much, but the inside is a different story. The majority of the building is made out of logs that lean against the stone walls and join at the center of the structure like a flattened cone. As many as ten huge tree trunks are bound and set in the center to support the building. Holes were dug out in the sides of the building to serve as rooms for each guard. Curtains ranging in a variety of colors cover the entrance to the rooms for privacy. Although the building was carved out of the hill it was still air tight; even though it had rained for the past week, the inside of the building was surprisingly dry.

ImageImage

β€œBoris? Jason?” Razzul said as black bear and an otter poked their heads from behind their curtains. β€œYou two are joining Comet and I to Forte. All of you get ready to meet me in front of my cabin in five minutes. Also Jason, if you could be so kind and pack some food for the journey, that would be most appreciated.” The wolf turned to leave, nodding to the blue spotted jaguar as he passed her. He ventured back to his cabin to pack a few healing herbs that he would use on the survivors just in case if he ran out of energy while healing them. Once he was ready, he waited for his guards.

Nikki and Reggie

"I just don't know why you have to be so grumpy all the time, that's all I'm saying, Reggie." Nikki scoffed quietly with a playful smirk. All day long she had to listen to this turtle whine and complain as he free-loaded on her back because, well, if they walked at his speed nothing would ever get delivered. Why he ever decided to be a messenger with his walking abilities, she would never know. Her tail flicked side to side as she laid in the soft grass beneath her, it felt good to rest. It had been such a long time since they had had a moment to just sit and rest, and did Nikki ever cherish it. Her eyes watched Reggie sigh in discontent over her words and rolled them at his response.

"Reginald." he corrected her, making sure she understood how much the nickname displeased him, as always, before proceeding. "And I am not grumpy, simply realistic." his face scrunched up in the displeasure he took in her criticism and the discomfort he felt in the grass that never ceased to itch and irritate his skin. He hated sitting and doing nothing, it was so anti-efficient. They were workers, not slackers, and he hated to feel contrary. In fact, he pretty much disliked the entire situation he was in. The sun was much too hot, making his eyes hurt, and all he was hearing was negative pish-posh from a raccoon. "And I am a messenger because it is my duty" he said, emphasizing the last word despite barely participating in the messenger process at all, "But I would thank you not to think such unkind things about me." In his mind, she probably thought those things on purpose to upset him. She would have known better than to not to in front of a mind reader.

"Oh jeez," Nikki responded, hardly moved that her thoughts had been exposed. "Well, can't take them back now!" a laugh escaped her lips, lightening the air a little and allowing Reggie to relax. But the laughter was cut short when Reggie perked up, letting out a stern, "We have another mission coming, I can hear him coming." Nikki sighed, and she had been so happy for her short break. They both looked up, Nikki following Reggie's gaze in the direction he had heard the thoughts coming from and seeing one of President Oxy's assistants coming towards them. Before he even had a chance to speak, Nikki stood up and shouted, "We're coming, we're coming. We know the drill." With a shrug and a shake, she lowered herself to allow Reggie to climb upon her back, "Let's go, Sir Reginald". Adding a fake air of snootiness and mocking Reggie's british accent as she claimed him 'Sir Reginald'.

Reggie snorted, allowing himself to let the snide comment go and get onto Nikki's back without the risk of her getting angered at a comment he may make about it and throw him off. No, he wasn't that stupid. Not like these simpletons around here. He sat quietly on Nikki's back, hearing her make idle chit-chat with the assistant taking them back to the president. Oh, what a glorious honor it was to be one of the esteemed trustees of the president. Not that he didn't work hard enough for it! Before long, though, they had reached their destination and presented themselves before President Oxy. Reggie, of course, making sure to hop off Nikki's back and make sure he was seen as separate than her.

"Mr. President," Reggie began, making a melodramatic gesture of himself, "And what is it we may do for you this evening?"

Ozymandius

In the time that it took to fetch the messengers, Ozymandius had changed his mind at least four times in regards to the content of the message he was going to send. How forceful should he be? Is the recipient likely to be offended? Would that offense lead to severe diplomatic penalties? What would his rivals in government think? Is this the best move for Tansanko? Is it the best move for himself? These questions and more had been buzzing around in his head for quite some time, and as a result Ozy's mood was slowly deteriorating.

Then it hit him like a slap to the face. Why not deliver the message himself? He would have plenty of time refine his intentions on the journey, and he would not have to worry about the messengers, however unintentional it may be, from slurring the meaning of the message. Besides, he had been aching to get out of this stuffy bureaucratic capital for some time now, and the salty sea air would do good to satisfy his nostalgia for the past. Besides, it was not as if he had never done this sort of thing before, in fact, as it was preferable for Ozy to hand deliver anything of utmost importance. And the threat of war was in fact a matter of the utmost importance. Besides, he had more friends than foes here in the capital, and things should be running smoothly until he returns. Other than the incident of the northern beach sand, there was little that was out of the ordinary, and if Tansanko's government was good at one thing, it would be handling the ordinary.

At last, two of his most prestigious messengers arrived. They may not be the most compatible socially, but together they always seemed to get the job right. "Ah, good evening Mr. Reginald and Ms. Nikki, it seems like it was just yesterday that I had sent you out for yet another mission. I am sure you are familiar with the strained relations between this country and Eramaa, especially with the recent lumber shortage. In that light, I believe it is high time that I set sail for a diplomatic visit, and I wish that you two will accompany me. It will be good experience for you should I ever have to send you with a message to Eramma again." Ozy explained thoroughly. In a way, he was acting like they had a choice in this situation, where as in reality, he would normally just order them to come along. Besides, it would be nice to have someone along besides those stuffy old guards that the council insisted that he have follow him around.

Akira

Akira sighed, the flames in front of her vanishing quickly.

Akira sighed loudly, lying down on the slightly charred grass around her. She ordered silently for the flames in front of her to disappear as she licked her singed paw slowly.

She had gone out in the early morning to work on her fire skills. Not that they weren’t good, but Akira always believed that if you didn’t get better, you were getting worse. But, while in the midst of her practicing, a cute little butterfly had caught her gaze, breaking her concentration. This resulted in the fire going out of control, singeing her paw and her whole right ear.

β€œStupid butterfly,” Akira grumbled as she stood up, wincing at the pressure she put on her paw, β€œI hope it dies…or something.” Now, she really didn’t mean this, for she loved and, at least tried, to protect every animal she could. If an animal died while she was in charge, she felt that it was her fault and tended to go into bouts of depression, which was very hard to get her out of.

She wandered off, going to find Razzul so he could heal her, wincing at every step she took. Her ear twitched and she whimpered in slight pain. She was kind of used to this by now; it was not unusual for her to get burned. She was always getting distracted when she practiced, though it was extremely rare that she did so on the job.

β€œR-Razzul!” she called out to him, limping quickly over to him, β€œRazzul…I did it again…can you heal me?” her icy blue eyes lowered, her tail swishing back and forth on the ground.

Todd

After finishing the scraps of his makeshift meal and regaining his composure to a reasonable degree, Todd wiped his maw with his paws in an attempt to get rid of the red stain, which only resulted in tinting his paws in an earthy red color. Sighing, Todd looked up from his position, taking note of all the beautiful shades of green that surrounded him. There was the healthy dark green of the tall but squat conifors, the rusty green of the majestic decidious, and a general mashup of every shade of green in the grasses that covered that covered the forest floor. Todd almost felt bad that his red fur was tainting such a one colored masterpiece, but soon stopped his nature gazing when he saw a flash off to the side of his vision.

Curious, the red fox stood up on shaky limbs to investigate. Limping slightly, still sore from his earlier incident, Todd made his way as quietly as possible towards the source of the light. Normally Todd wouldn't have been so curious, but any light had to come either from the sun or from fire, and with the sun high in the sky and no reason for fire, there had to be something worth seeing. Todd soon found the source of the flash of light, and was rather baffled to see an Ocelot, roughly his size but not in the right proportions, working with fire. Now, Todd wasn't ignorant of mutations, he couldn't dismiss his remarkable stamina as anything but supernatural, but it always suprised him how...powerful they could be.

While Todd was busy musing, he missed what had ended up distracting the Ocelot and her resulting frustration, but noticed her stand up and leave, passing near the red fox. About to dismiss the whole incident and file it away into his memories, his ears perked up when he realized he could still hear her. Now, his ears were good, but not as good as some, so in order for him to hear her she was close. Too close. And when he heard her talking to Razzul, the well known chief of the Wanderers, he realized he must be much closer to the capital than he realized. Knowing it would be foolish and noisy to make a mad dash out of there, Todd instead chose to creep out of the area at a painfully slow pace, hoping against hope that they had other things to do than smell the scent of blood that still covered the foxes maw and paw.

Razzul Whisperpaw

The green and white wolf was beginning to wonder why his guards were taking so long. It’s not like he asked them to pack for a crusade. He shook his head and waited patiently. They were probably just concerned on what they should bring.

The Chief was sitting on the porch of his small cabin when he heard a cry from his advisor, Akira. β€œRazzul…I did it again…can you heal me?” The ocelot whimpered while limping over to the wolf. One of her paws was lifted high above the ground in a painful manner. Razzul knew instantly what his young advisor meant. Akira had the ability to control and conjure fire. Her powers were so great that she was chosen to be the Advisor of the Wanderer’s personally by Razzul shortly after he had become Chief. Unfortunately with all that power bubbling inside such a young animal, she losses control often, thus burning herself severely. The wolf encouraged his companion to try to learn to control her amazing power in order to become even stronger. However, she losses her concentration often and ends up needing to be healed. Instead of making her go to an infirmary, Razzul uses his ability to heal others to relieve Akira of her pain. This time it seemed that she had burned her paw and right ear to the point that fur had been removed.

β€œMy dear Akira. What have you done?” The Chief sighed with sad eyes. β€œCome sit. Let me fix you up.” He said gently but with a hint of authority as would a parent would with a child. When she had sat down beside him, he first placed his paw over Akira’s injured ear. Closing his eyes, he slowly let lose a small stream of his healing magic from the powerful river that was inside of him. The stream washed over Akira’s burnt ear like a cold mist. The dark green markings along his body began to glow a bright green as the burnt flesh disappeared and was replaced by healthy skin and fur. Razzul felt his own ear sting and burn, replicating the pain Akira just endured; however, the pain never showed itself to the outside world. Once her ear had returned to its natural state, he began working on her paw. Again his markings glowed brightly while the magic washed over her in a gentle manner. As her paw began to look more and more like a paw, the Chief felt his own paw become charred and burn, but his face was as still as stone. After a minute or so, Akira was as good as new.

Razzul opened his green eyes to examine his work. Not a single burnt hair had escaped his reach. A ghost of a smile appeared on the wolf’s lips in happiness of healing another. β€œHow do you feel?” He asked the young ocelot with a bit of concern. He hoped he didn’t use too much of his power on her. When he was younger and less experienced, he would sometimes use too much of his power causing his patients to become drowsy and incoherent, something the wolf always worried about. To cause an inconvenience to another made him feel guilty even if he was helping them to a certain degree.

A chilly breeze began to stir, ruffling Razzul’s long fur coat. The unmistakeable sent of blood caught the Chief’s attention. Alarmed, the wolf looked over Akira once again to see if he had missed any injuries, but he could find none. Now puzzled, Razzul filled his highly effective nostrils to locate the source of the blood. He stood up and peered intently into the silent quivering forest. β€œDo you smell something, Akira?” He asked in a low voice, hoping that he was just imagining the horrible smell that he loathed greatly.

Amir

Amir paced around the outside perimeter of his home his neck arched and a tail that fanned out behind him in the breeze that darted in-between the trees. Amir didn't necessarily stay in one particular place for too long although he mainly resided around Foresta where he felt most at home amongst the other inhabitants. His home consisted of a shelter made from wood. Amir didn't like to be cut off from the world and liked an open space so the simple open plan of his home was ideal for his claustrophobic tendencies.

Inside there wasn't much apart from a bed of hay in which he had cut the grass himself allowing it to try out into hay where he laid upon it, he changed it every few days as soon as it lost it's initial bouncy comfortable feeling but he wasn't one to let his home become messy.

He had a small space in the corner that was shut off from the world where he occasionally went to be alone. He didn't use that small space a lot at all, being idle was his greatest enemy and instead of sulking in misery he'd go for a run or just pace around like he was doing right then.

Image

Anyone who was unfamiliar with the Stallion's odd way of doing things would simply think that he was bored and just wasting his time but inside Amir's mind he was hard at work thinking up simple plans and thinking to himself in the reserved and secluded manner that often annoyed animals who lived near by him: pacing around for what could seem hours on end. Around his home was a worn track of Earth in which his hooves had worn down over his endless pacing while he was there.

Amir thinks of himself as a 'Rags to Riches' type of story where a young hot headed stallion managed to curb his attitude and turn himself into someone who had left a mark on the vast world. Well at least he hoped he did. As a colt he had participated in the usual mischievous activities but after a few dangerous run in's, he joined the army and that was the start of his journey to the top. For it it has made Amir quite a proud noble character, although somewhat too proud of himself at times which could prove to become annoying among the animals below him but he remained respectful to everyone knowing that one day, a much younger more intelligent and younger animal will soon take over his position.

A part of Amir was feeling anxious especially on the thought of the Reformers. He had plans of heading over to see Razzul in a short while but he was just trying to make all of his thoughts clear. He had heard news of the mudslides over in Forte and he was wary that Razzul's mind may be more concerned with more pressing matters than what Amir was planning to do next with his army of all too ready animals ready to act on the slightest instruction.

"You know, you should really get a better hobby instead of pacing around all day." A squirrel which was perched on a tree branch teased before running down the trunk to stop in front of Amir who was jerked out of his train of thought to his annoyance.

Stamping a hoof he walked past his annoying neighbour the plucky little creature who Amir only barely remembered his name as 'Max', usually Amir was quite disgusted how the little creature could talk to him in such a manner when he demanded so much respect. It was possible that on hearing stories from the past of the way humans respected their Sergeants and Generals...Amir just wanted to recapture that greatness that came in the military.

"Why don't you got and find some nuts or something?" Amir shot back in annoyance out of loosing his train of thought. Was it uncommon for Amir to respond in such a hard way? Most of the time yes. But Amir was sure glad that whenever he left home that he always got to have some time away from his nosy neighbour.

It didn't take long but Amir had managed to raise a small speech that he'd deliver to Razzul. His main concern was making it quick and simple enough just to let the Chief know what he was up to. He flew along at a great speed: the greatest asset that Amir had, his hooves pounding along the earth as he moved along weaving his way in and out of tree's, navigating around ditches, ponds and large boulders before he managed to reach the main city. When he finally reached it he maneuvered his way asking a few of the animals lazing around who pointed him in the right direction.

"Chief, I have a few concerns. I understand you have other problems right now but just give me a moment and that's all I need of your time." Amir started as soon as the green and white wolf that he knew fairly well appeared in view in tow with Comet and Akira. Amir nodded a greeting to the other animals, bowing his head to the chief.

Razzul Whisperpaw

Razzul sat on his porch beside his trusted Advisor, Akira, concentrating on a peculiar smell. The unmistakable scent of blood was thick in the air. The smell was overpowering, meaning that the source was either close or someone was critically injured. While taking more of the scent through his highly trained nose the Chief was able to pinpoint the direction in which the blood was at.

Before Razzul was about to race though the forest towards the blood, he picked up the sound of pounding hooves. Turning to face the direction of the sound, the green and white wolf spotted a flash of a jet black mane whipping through the wind. In an instant, General Amir stood before the Chief bowing his great head. "Chief, I have a few concerns. I understand you have other problems right now but just give me a moment and that's all I need of your time."The stallion said. Razzul looked upon his friend with eyes of urgency. β€œMost certainly General Amir, you know how much I regard your ideals. However at the moment I sense trouble. I smell blood.” The Chief said while gesturing towards the silent woods. β€œI am afraid someone has been hurt severely. I must help them, quickly. Come with me Amir I may need your assistance. Once we get back you can tell me what your concerns are.” With that he turned and rushed into the forest.

It didn’t take long till Razzul was about to spot a fox though the shroud of green. The scent grew stronger the closer he moved toward the fox. Worried that this animal was injured, the Chief called out to him: β€œHello Mr. Fox. Are you ok?” He stopped about ten yards from the fox who seemed to be moving very slowly. His paws and muzzle were a darker red than his brilliant coat. He reeked of blood.

Akeil Ironfin

The Great White steadily swam off the coast of Monte, just north of the city, about five miles out. His thickly muscled arms were pressed snugly against his body and his legs against his tail. Akeil had removed his armor and weapons and stashed them in a small alcove near the shore. All he carried was a long bowie knife strapped to his chest. This allowed him the much needed mobility and speed for his current task…

A familiar scented reached his nostrils. His mind focused on the smell. Whale. About two miles to the southeast. Almost immediately his predatory instincts activated. Akeil’s pupils gaped as his muscles tensed.

No. He must remain in control. His body was his own. It obeyed him. Akeil was the master, and his mind the tool. Too many times he’d nearly been killed for allowing himself to fall into a frenzy. Not again…

Akeil slowly eased his muscles into relaxation and closed his double-lidded eyes. He breathed in deeply, taking in the still peace of the deep, desolate ocean, and then exhaled his fiery rage… The mutated shark drifted in the water for several seconds before opening the outer lids of his eyes. With his mind finally clear of the red haze, Akeil focused his mind.

Within his mind he saw the water. He felt the currents, the stillness, the waves, and the peace. Akeil focused on the molecules around him. Slowly, he saw them begin to pulse and vibrate. The water began to churn, foam, swirl, and increase in temperature around him. Finally, like a living torpedo, Akeil shot through the water. Only a few bubbles remained in the space he once occupied.

The shark rode the powerful current generated with his mind, following his nose. Gradually, as the scent became stronger, he allowed the animal instincts take over. His muscles tensed and his pupils dilated. Akeil could sense the whale getting close, about three hundred yards off. He reached for the knife on his chest and unfastened it. Two hundred yards. His arms braced into a flattened β€œX” position in front of his head with his knife’s blunt end pressed up against his left arm. One hundred yards. Akeil braced for impact. Fifty yards. The hunter extended his arms out slightly in a tackle position.

Thump.

The Great White collided into the side of the whale, knocking it out cold. A shock wave rippled through the water around them. Even though the impact had stunned Akeil himself, he aroused himself in time for his next move of attack.

Before the whale could react, the shark creature gripped the knife in both hands, raised it above his head with the blade pointing downward, and plunged it into the mammal’s torso. The blade bit deeply into the heart and lungs of the beast. Finally, with incredible brutality, Akeil twisted the knife ninety degrees and tore downwards along the whale’s body, slicing through the liver, stomach, and intestines. He ripped out the blade from the mutilated body.

Panting, with blade in hand, Akeil stared at the stagnant corpse of the whale before him. A massive cloud of blood oozed out from the open cavity he just made. The blood reached his nostrils, and that was all he needed to submit into a feeding frenzy…

Akeil dove into the open cavity and devoured the beast from the inside out…

------------------------

The Great White shark began his swim to shore, leaving behind the sinking corpse of the mutilated whale. His carnivorous appetite sate… For now.

Akeil located the alcove where he stashed his equipment. The first thing he grabbed was the device that allowed life for him on land possible. One piece of it was a pair of conjoined tanks. Attached to them were clear tubes that led to the second part of the device – sack-like objects that, when placed in his gills and inflated with water, allowed him to breath.

He opened one of the tanks and it immediately filled with water. Combined with the other tank, a replaceable one filled with compressed oxygen, it created a flow of constantly recycled water to and from his gills. Akeil strapped the tanks to his back and slipped the open-ended sacks into his gills. Then he turned the machine on. It gave off a low hum as he breathed steadily.

Akeil strapped on his chest and back armor after he installed his breathing device. These protected both the vital organs on his front as well as the tanks on his back. Next he slipped on the plates for his shoulders, upper legs, and tail, fastening them with leather straps. Finally the mercenary strapped on his sheathed scimitar, javelins, and shield.

The shark made his way up to the shore and up onto dry land. After making sure he didn’t smell like the whale he just slaughtered he began his journey toward Monte.

Todd

Todd knew the threat was coming before Razzul had uttered his first word to him. And he knew he could do nothing about it. The evidence was all there, his bloody mouth, his paws, and his sneaker demeanor. And there was also that ever present danger of what if Razzul had somehow recognized him as a rebel, he knew he would have no choice but to bolt. In fact, Todd would have bolted ages ago if it wasn't for the stallion he had heard trotting along beside the chief just moments before.

Of course, Todd could still run. In fact, he would love to run. One of his favorite forms of entertainment was getting into chases, and then always outwit the slow, lumbering brute that was too hot tempered to do anything but follow him blindly. He was sure that, in his prime, he could outfox both the chief and his equestrian friend. But there was two problems with this. First off, he was not in his prime, he had just been in the middle of a mudslide! Second, most of Todd's stratagy had to do with using the forest to his advantage, hiding among fallen branches, leaving confusing scent trails, etc. But as far as he could see, the forest wasn't an option, with a clearing behind him and Foresta in front of him, Todd was between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

He could try lying, as much as he hated doing it. As bad of a reputation as he got for being a carnivore, Todd still prided himself in integrity. Not to say he hasn't told his fair share of lies, it just happened that he preferred not to. Tensing up in preparation of the lie he was about to tell about some superficial injury he had gotten, he stopped. He didn't have to lie, only...exaggerate. Hiding a foxy grin at the thought, Todd turned to face them, greatly enhancing his limp as he did so. He took a quick look to see what kind of wounds he had received from the mudslide, and although not too many of them were open or severe, he could probably sell it. At the very least, he could buy himself time until another solution presented itself. "Why hello, good leader Razzul, your sympathy towards the injured is remarkable. I was just in the most dreadful of mudslides, I am sure you have heard of it? Anyway, it left me with enough wounds to attract your attention, I'm sure, but nothing that I can't take care of myself." Todd said respectfully, glad that Razzul was staying at a distance so that he could not examine the fox up close. He implied that his bloody muzzle and paws were from where had been cleaning the wounds himself, as many animals still did. He just wished the chief would accept his story and leave.

Amir

"Certainly Chief thank you. I will only need a moment to explain." Amir replied his gaze lingering on Razzul for a few lingering moments before he followed behind at a relatively slow pace for him who still only sparingly used his speed for urgent quests occasionally running just for the fun of it, despite being able to gallop quickly he was unable to keep the speed up for not that long at all: which didn't matter much considering the vast distance he could cover if he pushed himself fast enough.

It wasn't until he came up closer towards the blood soaked fox in which Amir was then able to smell the stench of blood wafting through the air and up into his twitching nostrils, he was far used to the sight and smell of blood by now and where as some animals may have shied away from it repulsed by the red liquid where as Amir simply just took it as another part of his day.

Amir's experiences which foxes had not been the best before, having learned that foxes were once regarded as cunning and sly creatures by the humans who once roamed the planet; Amir had found that the humans did have some sense after all as he had met many animals but none as cunning as a fox...Or an Ape. Somewhat judgmental at times, Amir was certainly not the nicest of all animals to meet but he certainly could give a good judgment of character after a few meetings or less and was yet to meet someone he trusted fully, especially a fox. Not that he was going to open his mouth now anyway, he had other things on his mind. There was some truth in Todd's statement, but he wasn't totally convinced.

Keme

Slouching along, Keme moved along in his usual sneaky manner a low key walk that he had perfected over time. The lowered head, crouched body the tail that dragged along the floor was the key points to this secretive manner of movement and he often found himself walking along like this when it wasn't needed. Just too used to being undercover most of the time he reckoned.

Perching himself upon a boulder that jutted out of the ground on the otherwise dry and fairly flat landscape, he was somewhere inbetween Solo and Impero and on the opposite side of the roadways he could see the outline of the mountain range in which his city was protected by.

After his travel from Distante, Keme had become weary and longed for a chance to lay down somewhere and get some rest but he was wasting more time than necessary and he knew that the King would soon become restless if Keme was late with the results of his recent small routine mission that Keme executed fairly well by now.

Once a month, Keme was sent out to the countrys of Eramaa and Tansanko where he was told to keep the lowest profile a black Coyote with red eyes could make and keep track of what the Wanderers and Starters were up to. By now he was probably known by most of the higher powers in the clans so using his strange power of mist he was able to drift along observing them with no trouble at all. He always enjoyed his work, but when neither Clan had been up to anything new his work became tedious and he usually got a sharp unahppy reply from the king:

"They must have been doing something! Go back and find out what!"

Sighing at the thought of the King being unhappy, Keme let his paws rest hanging over the edge of the boulder as he observed his bleak surroundings of a place in which he know called his home. Although Kiiavs hadn't always been his home...

Keme came from Eramaa, where he was born and raised. He trained as a spy and worked for them fine tuning his skills and executing missions with such enthusiasm he felt he would never grow tired of the job that he was so good at. Although he was once sent to spy on the Reformers and what he saw them doing was new and exciting, much more exciting than the Wanderers who were set on finding Mother Nature: Keme was driven by the want to learn knowledge and see new things being made so he came attracted to them.

Gradually brainwashed by their regime, Keme didn't think twice but to betray the Wanderers by relaying incorrect information to them and delivering news to the Reformers when ever they needed it. Eventually when he was found out he was of course kicked from the clan but he only went to join the Reformers and that is where Keme started to become the sleazy, cunning character he is today.

Stirred from his small doze, he started to amble back off down the track on his own towards Impero where he would address the king on his findings and the report that he was to write up as soon as he was home...

Razzul Whisperpaw

The green and white wolf listened to the injured fox closely, taking in every detail. It interested him that the fox had been in the Forte mudslide, which was at least a two day journey from Foresta, and was washed up this far away. Of course he could have walked, but with a hurt leg and loss of so much blood it was questionable for him to be able to walk. Either the mudslide was worse than the Chief had expected it to be or he was lying about his injuries. Both options were troubling to Razzul.

Although the Chief wasn't entirely convinced of the fox's story, he still felt like he should help the poor creature. After all he was still a fellow animal. Razzul took a step closer. "I am sorry for your struggles, Mr. Fox, but are you sure that you can handle that all by yourself? Your injuries look grotesque, however, they don't look like a challenge for me to heal." The wolf said in a concerned tone. The scent of blood was still heavy in the air, making Razzul feel antsy, something his calm, peaceful personality prevented. Something about blood seemed to bring back horrid memories of his childhood. The most dominate of memories was when his family was murdered. The mere thought of it sent a shiver down his spine. You have other matters to attend to. Don't think about such things now. He coached himself not wanting to loss his cool while someone was hurt.

While taking what the fox had said and replaying it in his head again, it occurred to him that the fox could have been one of the missing from the mudslide. The fox could have family worrying about him at this very moment. It was unjust just to leave the fox out here if he refused to be healed so why not take him back to Forte? "Excuse me Mr. Fox, but if you don't mind me asking, do you live in Forte? I was about to head over there myself to help with the survivors. If you live there you could come with us or you could rest in Foresta if you preferred."

Todd

As the red fox listened to the chief's reply, he took a parting glance to note the stallion who seemed to be studying Todd with great interest. Realizing that Razzul was not the only one here that needed convincing, Todd determined to be quick and to the point, for he wanted to get out of here as soon as was practical. Although just running away in mid-conversation was always an option, there was no reason to chase him other than trying to reprimand him for rude behavior.

As the green and white wolf finished his dictate, Todd carefully considered his reply. He knew it would be foolish to say that he hailed from Forte, as then it would be expected that the citizens there would recognize him. Not to mention he would have to travel the extensive journey with the chief and his sharp eyed guard, as Todd assumed that was who the horse was. However, if Todd chose Razzul's other suggestion, to stay in Foresta, he could leave as soon as Razzul's company was down the trail and around the next bend, if he wasn't under intensive care. He might be able to do some snooping around as well, considering that this was the capital. Glance at a classified document here, change troop orders there, and so on. If he played his cards right, the resulting events could end in war, thus hastening the decline of civilization, and the return to a lifestyle of how Mother Nature intended it to be! But of course, that was a best case scenario, he wasn't even sure he would want to stay in the capital any longer than was necessary.

Choosing his words carefully, Todd began his reply. "I appreciate your concern and have considered you offer, but I have always believed that the sick and the wounded should heal the way that Mother Nature intended, with time," he started, letting his words sink in. "In regards to your concerns of Forte, I was simply in the area on business when the unfortunate accident happened." This much was true, he was only out there exploring new territory. Finishing up in the most convincing way he could word it, Todd said "Though to reject your gracious invitation to rest in the capital would be unthinkable, I would be honored to take time there to recouporate before heading out again."

Akeil Ironfin

Akeil stood in the center of Monte; arms crossed as he leaned against a tree. He scanned the currents of animals flowing past him. It reminded him of the ocean… except more crowded. His arms tensed against the living wall that seemed to close in on him.

The mercenary closed his outer lids and sighed. Akeil straightened and let his arms dangle by his sides as he walked toward the fur covered river. One look at his gargantuan stature caused the sea to split around him. A bubble of air sheltered him from the engulfing crowd as he made his way to the nearest food stand. He could feel the cloud of fear hovering over the masses around him.

Jeez… He thought. I just ate…

Akeil stepped up to the small squirrel, which was frozen as a stone at the shark’s sight. It shrank back in fear from his approach and hid behind some of the merchandise he was selling.

He looks tasty…

The walking fish snapped himself out of his trance. He came here to trade the shells he found for some fruit. Even though he already ate, he had to show that he was an herbivore like everyone else. Akeil was strong, but even he couldn’t take on the entire Eramaa police force.

Once he acquired the various fruits he made his way over to another local shop. Nailed to a post was a sign with the words β€œMercenary for Hire: Please write your name and contact method.” Akeil checked if there were any names listed…

OOC: Okay hopefully this will connect me with someone else in the RP xD

Keme

Ambling along the dusty road, Keme was mostly immersed in a daze as he wandered along the pathway he had travelled on so many times before . The Coyote found himself feeling a litlte aprehensive about visiting his King. What if the King was fed up of his stalemate in news? That would suddenly mean that they would probably find a younger and more enthusiastic spy to fill Keme's place while he was tossed out of his job to find his own way in the world. Would he manage working a 'normal' job? No. He simply wasn't the type. So instead of Visiting the King, he decided that he would just send his report instead...It would probably be safer that way.

His eyes flicked around his surroundings noticing that it was unusually quiet for he had not passed many animals at all over the two hour period that he had been wandering along at a steady pace for the sake of his sore paws. While constructing his report he would probably make something up just to please the King. Would the King really go to all the trouble just to find out about one little white lie? Probably not thought Keme, but sometimes he was a little too vague for his own good.

Reaching Impero, he made his way to his small home on the outside of the Kingdom, settling himself down in the blank mess that he called his home...

His home was essentially a cave that he had called his own for 6 years now. The front was shielded by a few dry dead weeds that inched their way along the rock hiding the entrance that Keme had to push his way through to get into the bland interior.

Inside it was nothing that special, a few mangled old bits of furniture stood lining the walls that he hardly ever used apart from the half collapsed bed of soft cotton that laid sprawlled across the floor. The only other thing that Keme ever paid attention to was the desk made out of old faded black rock where a few screwed up clumps of paper sat on the floor and the desk. Other than that he was never at his home long enough for him to pay it any special attention so he simply just let it rot.

Seated at his desk, he started to write:

" Dear My King,

On my recent Visit to Eramaa and Tansanko, I have constructed this report in reply to my visit in which I shall send to you as soon as I have completed it. Below are my findings:

Wanderers: The General is forming new battle plans. Standby for a Possible invasion. I shall venture back to Eramma where I shall investigate this matter further. Recent Mudslide has occurred in Forte, possible weakness for the clan.

Starters: Discovered a weapon that they are constructing, affected by No wood Exports from Eramaa.

These are my findings on my recent trip and I shall be venturing to The Wanderer and Starter clans soon to invesitage further what they are up to.

Yours,

Keme.

"A few little lies won't hurt." Keme muttered to himself slightly amused by his creativity on such matters such as these. Making up untruthful statements had somewhat become to norm for Keme now after the lack of information he has been gathering from his subjects as of late. He'd do anything to keep his job and he was certainly going out of his way to prevent being dismissed by the King.

Razzul Whisperpaw

Location: Foresta

Although Razzul sort of understood the fox’s belief in healing with time he was also confused how the fox could refuse being healed when he was injured so severely. Any animal who had lost as much blood as he had would have been urgently seeking medical attention. However, there were a group of Wanderer’s who, when injured, believed that Mother Nature had intended them to be injured. It was this group’s custom to not use medical treatment of any kind in order to endure their β€˜punishment’ from the great mother. This group of extremist Wanderers usually lived far from civilization in order to remove themselves from the other Wanderer’s (who were seen as β€˜threats to the old ways’) so it was very rare to come across one of them. Even the Chief had not seen very many of these animals in his years as leader. It occurred to Razzul that maybe this fox could be one of them. Feeling that he may have upset the fox for asking if he wanted to be healed, the wolf accepted the fox’s decision; he would not heal him.

The fox explained that he was only on business when he was swept away in the recent mudslide. The Chief thought it was unfortunate that he was involved in the disaster while he was only trying to do his job, whatever that may be. Since the fox wasn’t from Forte it would have been an inconvenience for the fox if the wolf was to bring him along with him. He certainly couldn’t try to return the fox to his home, even though he wanted to. For all he knew the fox could be living in Ancora, a city on the other side of Lake Cratere. No matter what Razzul needed to reach Forte to help the animals affected by the disaster.

Relieved that the fox was taking his advice about resting in Foresta before he moved on, the wolf nodded. β€œI am happy to hear that. It would be unwise for you to continue your way though these forests in your condition.”He paused as if deep in thought. β€œThere is a wonderful little lodge that I know will be able to care for you while your wounds heal. I believe that you will be quite comfortable there. They have the most excellent herbal tea, I have it every morning.” The Chief’s eyes glistened with happy memories when he was just a pup. He used to always go there with his father on errands. The wolf frowned sadly at the memory of his father. He missed him dearly. A small butterfly fluttered across the wolf’s vision and snapped him back to reality. Both Amir and the fox were waiting for him to continue. He cleared his throat in an attempt to make it feel less awkward. β€œWell, if you would follow me Mr. Fox. Do you need any help walking? Also what is your name? I feel rather impolite not asking for your name earlier.”

Todd

Relieved that this situation was flowing so smoothly, Todd let out an inaudible sigh of relief as Razzul agreed to leave him in Foresta. Todd took a moment to imagine what the innards of the capital was like, as he had only been along the outskirts. Would there great buildings made of iron and stone as in the stories of the human era that his grandfather had told? He doubted it, if Mother Nature had intended for animals to be the captains of industry as the humans had been, they would have been equals in the eyes of humanity, not simple pets or prey. It was probably just a small town, frivolously appointed as a capital for no other reason than that the chief lives there. Probably just simple wooden huts or stone caves of animals who were rebelling away from their natural ways, attempting to "settle down" like humans. His pessimistic thoughts of the upcoming town darkened his mood, so he thought of the possible positives. Maybe he could find a map which he could "borrow" in order to help him explore Wanderer Realm. Maybe he could find a nice vixen to woo, or a short tempered brute that he could goad into chasing. Maybe he could investigate the various inner workings of the Wanderers, and maybe sabotage that said government. Or he could just leave as soon as he was healed. That always was an option.

Aware that he had been lost in his thoughts a little too long, he tuned back into reality soon enough to hear Razzul's query. He considered answering with his real name, but paused to consider the possible implications. Todd had been in an occasional run in with authorities whenever he was caught sating his carnivorous appetite, would it be possible that his name would have found its way back to Razzul? Deciding to play it safe and use an alias, he picked his favorite one from a mental list he had created just for the occasion. He was also aware that Razzul had asked if he needed assistance walking, and Todd determined to refuse that offer. The farther away from the chief the better, as he may get close enough to see the real cause of the blood was not from Todd's minimal wounds.

Putting on an air of courtesy as he followed that was unusual for him, Todd began his response. "Your generosity is truly noteworthy, and again, I thank you for providing shelter. I am sure I will be able to manage without assistance for the time being, might as well learn now how to care for myself if I ever get injured when alone. As for my name, I apologize for not introducing myself earlier, my name is Denali, son of Autumn and Erak." Todd replied. It was an old habit of his to say his lineage when he introduced himself, and he just applied it here without a second thought.
