Introduction
WARNING PG 17 for violence and mild language.
Participation discretion is advised
In accent Rome there was a great monument where many gathered to participate in the glorious blood shed of others. They were hero's and villains at the same time. Admired and hated. They were gladiators of the Colosseum!
"Welcome to the age of the gladiator. You do not have a choice in your fate. Either you were born to a life of wine and lavishness or you were born a worker who must slave away the rest of your miserable life." Or so says everyone in the market on an average day. "The one exception," others say "is the gladiator. They have a chance to rise from slavery to see the other side of life, all they have to do is win a few hundred battles against the most vicious creatures and people of the world." And they would laugh. Laugh at the hardship they never had to endure. But once you have faced a lion that has been starved for weeks like you have been starved for days you don't laugh. You kill. That becomes all you can think of at the Colosseum, killing.
Guess who is sick of it. That's right, one gladiator will make it to the top where he will rid the world of the horrid Colosseum. Or, guess who wants to be the champion of the Colosseum and rule Rome. He will work his way to the top to kill Caesar and become the new Caesar, ruler of Rome and the Colosseum.
Choose your side.

The Battles of the Colosseum
The battles will be announced once we have gladiators by Caesar. You may not cut any limbs off your opponent and you may only kill your opponent unless given permission by Caesar.
Fighter #1 writes the first post of the battle, fighter #2 writes the second post, Caesar decides who wins, and then the winner who was decided by Caesar writes a 3rd post where he takes the life of the loser. (You can only kill another character if it is your third match against your opponent. If your character dies feel free to make another but some must die. This is the Colosseum after all.)

________________________________________________________________________________________________
Caesar reaches a hand out to a map of the lands that he has conquered and they all melt into blood. Dripping to the floor the blood pools until it begins to run between the stones. It continues to run passing thousands of seats and drips into a pit. In this pit surrounded by seats a lioness and a large man are circling each other waiting to see how the other plans to finish them. <this was an opening i imagined for a movie..
Caesar was a major conqueror taking down country after country. There was very little, known, land that he hadn’t been taken control over and turned to ruins. He is known as the bloodiest tyrant in the history of the current world. With his tyranny came slaves, only the finest women, potential wealthy children and strongest men were taken. The rest were killed immediately. The women became sex slaves. The children; boys began training to be a gladiators and girls served the royals until they were old enough to become sex slaves as well. As for the men, they became gladiators of the Colosseum.
Each gladiator has a chance to earn their freedom and the hand of one off Caesars daughters in marriage. That is if they can manage to kill and slaughter their way to the top. Some want to make it there only to slay Caesar and take the thrown and rule all he has conquered. Others wish to slay Caesar and liberate all countries from tyranny. Lastly there are the few who cherish our leader Caesar and wish to stand beside him at the top.
Which are you?

In the Great Colosseum
The Devourer VS Two Lionesses (starved lions that are much larger than normal)
Ace VS 200 enemy soldiers (recently captured and pissed)
Trio Cornelius VS Giant of Kenrick (Just a very very very very large man with axe and shield)
Spurius VS Captured Dragon of Medlian (Fire breathing)
And after, a victory feast with the winning gladiators.
He had sent all of his daughters to meet with the gladiators. What a genius idea using his beautiful daughters as pawns to make the fights more brutal. After all, a man shall not fight without a cause. He turned to his wife. “Do you believe we will have a good turnout in the Arena tomorrow, Amie?” He loved his wife, she was loyal and done everything he had asked of her. She wouldn’t be able to betray him if her life depended on it and that was a wife worth keeping.

Cassie was walking in the halls wearing light red robes. She was a little happy today. She got to meet with the gladiators. She wanted to run but she knew that if she was going to run it would have to be quiet. But that was something that Cassie could not do. Cassie belived that freedom would be nice but she knew that if it was something her father came up with then it would be something that Cassie could do nothing about. She then turned down one hall then after a few minutes she reached where all the gladiators were. She knew that her older sisters would be there soon to. Cassie was kinda stuck being one of the youngest of the family. Bad thing about being one of the youngest is your older siblings will bug you from time to time when the mother or father was not watching. Cassie was looking around waiting for her sisters to come or for one of the gladiators to talk to her.

He just stands there not talking but keeping an eye out. Caeser might have his head if anything happen to his daughters on his watch. Alax would rather stay alive then die for failing.

He wondered what weapon types he’d be given for the match. Ideally, if he was given the choice, Spurius would choose a large steel shield, a spear, and a short sword. The shield was the only one that was absolutely necessary, though, to defend himself from that thing’s fire breath. Otherwise he would have to spend his time dodging, which would wear him out pretty quick, which would in turn mean death. He wouldn’t outlast the dragon energy-wise, that’s for sure. Of course, he would have to put a leather piece in between his arm and the back of the shield for it would undoubtedly become very hot after one or two blasts.
There was another matter of the day that he was secretly somewhat excited for, though did not show it so. Today they would be spending time with some of Caesar’s daughters and personal maidens. Although not much could really come of it, the mere idea of female attention was stimulating. Spurius had a special eye for a particular one, Caesar’s eldest Vittoria, but left that desire to the realm of fantasy. He was a slave, and nothing more, while she was the daughter of the most powerful man in the world.
It wasn’t in his character to approach Vittoria when he saw the daughters enter the large room they were in. Instead he stood off to the side by himself, as he usually did at such events, and watched everyone else. It struck him as curious that Caesar would use his own daughters for inspiration for the games. He wanted shows; that’s for sure. The contrast between the beauties of the girls and the male gladiators was somewhat comical. Yes, they had been cleaned and given new clothes for this event, but they were still slave’s clothes and it’s hard to say that you could ever truly clean a gladiator. Still, this was far better than training all day, and even if none of these girls talked to him their mere presence simply made his life a little better.

The gates opened and Woulfgar entered the Colosseum. The crowd went wild as they saw the famous barbarian enter the arena. He was the biggest man any of them had ever seen, he was broad and had powerful arms that seemed to be powerful enough to crush a man's skull, and his sausage like fingers certain supported this idea.
Woulfgar turned and bowed to Ceasar and then raised his axe and called out, like he had done many times before, "Today I fight for Ceasar! I will entertain Rome today, and may Ceasar's mercy allow me to fight another day!" The gigantic man said with a booming voice.
He drew out his sword, short and sharp, perfect for chopping and stabbing his enemies, and then his axe, perfectly balanced and a perfect cleaver of flesh, surely this wonderful tool would make short, yet entertaining work of whatever that he may face today.
The gates opened.
Out of the darkness, two large lionesses sprung out, running towards Woulfgar with impressive speed and agility. They had been starved for long, so long that they didn't heed any form of intelligent instinct, they were hungry and would end it by killing and devouring The Devour
Woulfgar had faced such animals before, and he hated them, because they had no fear, they couldn't be intimidated nor pressed back, they would keep on attacking till either Woulfgar or the lions were dead.
Woulfgar prepared for the attack, and as the first lioness jumped into the air, legs stretched out, claws out and open mouth with all of its yellow teeth ready to bite into Woulfgar's flesh.
Woulfgar instinctively fell down on the ground and stretched his hand with his sword out, stabbing the lioness in its belly, causing the lioness to roar with pain and fall to the ground as it landed on its pawns, however the second lioness was a bit quicker and with its pawns it scratched deep wounds into his deltoids muscles, causing the blood to run down his arm and a burning pain to arise in his right arm.
He rolled over on the dirt and swung his axe out, forcing the lioness to back away from him, giving him space between the lioness and himself. That was good...That was bad. The lioness attacked him again, this time, Woulfgar didn't have the needed space to react as quickly as before, and the lioness got its teeth into his left quadriceps.
Woulfgar screamed with pain, and the crowd gasped. Would this giant fall today? Only the gods would know.
Woulfgar, using the closeness of the lioness, hammered the hilt of his sword, dropped his axe and grasped it by the neck, holding it tight. He continued to beat the hilt into the head of the large cat, and although it swung its clawed pawns wildly, it only managed to do the same form of damage as it had to his arm, and thankfully it didn't get anywhere near his face nor his neck.
Wouldgar then stabbed the large beast in its back, making it let go of his leg and try to retreat back...Woulfgar didn't allow that to happen, he still held on tight and now got his axe, and with three powerful blow he decapitated the beast.
Standing up, the crowd was silence, and then, he lifted the head of the lioness high and roared with his lungs full power. The crowd cheered, and Woulfgar welcomed their hails and their praises. It gave him strength to go on.
Limping back to the other gladiators, he roared loudly as he came in, making sure that they all knew that Wouldgar, the Devourer, was still alive. He wasn't defeated, and wouldn't be defeated.

Trio looked back to the women, one of them got inside and then a younger looking one followed. The last girl that came inside, with long beautiful brown hair got close to another Gladiator, Alax or Alex or something. And Trio overheard. "...hows your day going?"
Trio turned his head around and answered, even though the question wasn't addressed to him.
"How do you think our day is going?" He heard Woulfgar roar as he came in. The audience was going crazy, it must have been a hell of a fight. Trio turned to the girl again. "If everything comes out all right half of us will be death by down."

Alax said to Cassie wile looking around the room "So how you mis Cassie? Having fun metting all the gladiators?"

As the battle continued Caesar looked at his people. the were rooting for the gladiator and sat on the edges of their seats waiting to see if he would live. He loved to see his people enjoying bloodshed with him. He turned to his wife with a victorious smirk. "They love it Amie! Isn't this grand." Several of his advisers and democrats agreed. Caesar knew he could trust any of those blood suckers. None of then had to fight a day in there life. The gladiators understood what life was worth. He hoped his daughters were giving them encouragement.
When the lioness head was held up showing his victory Caesar stood and acknowledged his win. The yelling of the crowd filled the great city of Rome out to it every crack. They wanted more and he was happy to supply them with it. Proudly he announced the next combatants and took his seat to watch.

He was enormous, she wondered what other large surprises that promised. Choosing one of these men would be difficult. They all seemed great choices but she waited to see the next victor. "Would you like me to dress your wounds champion?" if he had answered or not she was already at it. Wrapping the worst of the wounds first. Every now and again glancing over at Spurius who seemed to favor her. "I do believe you have competition Woulfgar" she knew his name by knowing his reputation, in fact she knew them all. She loved watching the gladiators fight, she wondered which would be the one to end her fathers rule but kept that fact of her obsession secrete.

When he had left the room a guard escorted Spurius to the entrance to the Coliseum, walking him through the armory. "You've been instructed to pick your own weaponry. A certain nobleman has a lot riding on you, and he has paid well to make sure you are allowed to take whatever you'd like." The armory itself had little in it. However, there was exactly what Spurius needed. After giving a nod to the guard, Spurius selected a light steel helmet, a large steel shield, a short sword, and a spear. He lined the inside of the shield with an extra strip of leather because he knew that with each blocked blast of flame the shield would become harder and harder to hold due to the heat until he had to discard it, and the leather would buy him just a little more time.
"It's a big one, good luck," the guard nodded to Spurius who returned the gesture, a subtle respect passed between the two. With the spear in hand and the sword attached to his belt, Spurius walked out into the Coliseum. At this point none of the audience was aware they were about to see a dragon, most for the first time.
"Friends," a senator whose place was up by Caesar’s began, "this next particular battle I bring to you all the way from Medlian!" It was every now and then that a politician would use the games to advertise himself when seeking reelection. In order to please the people of Rome and have his own name spread they would try to appease the crowds. This man thought of funding a battle against a dragon. "Standing before you now is Spurius, your champion!" Unlike most gladiators who would wave or attempt to woo the crowd when addressed, Spurius stood still. He was out there to kill, not give them his dignity. Still, the audience clapped regardless. "For six years he's fought in the arena, gaining prestige and growing stronger before our very eyes. But today, I'm afraid, he may be meeting the gods! For I present to you a ruthless beast out of the Hades itself, starved into madness and rage!" At that moment the doors on the other end of the Coliseum opened and a large creature charged out, but was forced to stop by a chain collar around its neck. The dragon was larger than Spurius had expected, reaching a height of ten feet when on all fours, and with a single horn spouting from the tip of its nose. The curious thing about it was the fact that its wings had been removed, and all that remained were stumps. The scars on the stumps seemed as if the removal was quite painful for the beast.
The chains around the beast's neck clicked and then fell off, freeing it from the restriction. Spurius edged closer, preparing himself for battle. "I see, beast, your wingless frame reveals your true nature. You are as much as a slave as me. Fear not, brother, for one of us shall soon be free from captivity." As if on cue, the dragon charged, but was easily dodged by Spurius. It seemed as if the dragon realized that the battle would not end so easily at that point, for it took a moment to study its opponent. Again it charged, however it stopped short early this time and blasted a stream of fire towards the gladiator, who blocked most of it with his shield but was burnt by some that his shield did not cover. As soon as the flow of fire stopped Spurius went on the offensive and stabbed at the dragon with his spear, cutting the dragon's face only slightly. The dragon responded by unexpectedly slashing with its giant claws, throwing Spurius across the arena, cutting him across the chest very deeply with its claws, and causing him to drop both his shield and spear. Spurius wasted no time in getting to his feet, though, as well as drawing his sword.
The beast was already on its way over, but this time Spurius would not be taken by surprise. He dodged the stream of fire it blew off to the right and sprinted until he was at the base of the creature. With all his might Spurius sliced at the back leg of the dragon, and after two swipes the leg fell off. As a reaction the dragon swiped Spurius with its long tale, again throwing him many feet away, and roared in pain. The fight was not yet over, though. Spurius was able to hold onto his sword this time, but when he had gotten to his feet the beast was already upon him with another blast of fire. Spurius hardly dodged it, part of his right side was burnt quite badly by the flame and his clothes were burnt off, leaving him to fight nude. There was no embarrassment, though. For one, he liked to think of himself as well endowed, anyway, but mostly because the audience no longer existed. Spurius did not even hear their chants or cries or applause. The only two things in the entire world were himself and the dragon. Spurius was quick to charge the dragon this time, and he rolled underneath the flame blast and came up underneath the dragon. From there he stuck his black upwards into the beast and ran until he had reached the end, putting a deep gash from the beast's neck all the way to its tail. It wasn't dead though. Although it had fallen and was not trying to get back up, the beast still had breath. Spurius walked over to its large head and positioned his sword at its base. "Enjoy your freedom, brother; you have more than earned it. I feel I will never find my own." With that, Spurius stuck his sword through the base of the head and into the brain. He then stood up and walked back to the exit of the arena while the audience cheered for him and the senator announced his victory.
Spurius returned to the hall and was given a new set of clothes at the door when he entered, still covered in his own blood and the green blood of the dragon. A surgeon was waiting to attend to his more severe burns as well as dress the three large gashes left by the dragon's claws.
