Introduction

Melanie Cronin was just another small-town girl, a waitress in Iowa. She looked up at the world around her and realized there was nobody in this town she wanted to be. So she took all the money she earned and deserved, and packed her suitcase. She made her way by bus to Los Angeles, and when she got there, she bought herself a small apartment. She hid her money in the back of the toilet, where nobody would expect it.
And thats when she sees it. Across the street and to the right; a little club.

Burlesque.

She enters the room, greeted by a man with eyeliner and a black fedora. "We may not have windows, but we've got the best view on Sunset Boulevard." He said. "Twenty dollars." When Melanie walked in, she was dumbfounded. A burlesque show; exactly what it sounded like. She walked to the bar and watched the girls put on that nasty show that so many people enjoyed; and realized she wanted to be up there. And the boy behind the counter; he got her a job at the bar at first. But she worked hard to be up on that stage.

And when she got it, her and the bar-boy's relationship got even better.

But what happens with the catty girls back stage? Who will be Melanie's true friend?

CHARACTERS

Melanie Cronin- Small town Iowa girl. She can move; and she can move well. But she also has another secret -- her voice. But Burlesque girls lip sync to the music. Will Melanie get her chance to shine? Or will Nikki knock her off the block? Not to mention -- Jake, her best friend, is the one she's starting to fall for.

Jake Saunders- The bartender of Burlesque. He left Kentucky when he was 17. He has a fiancee, but one that doesn't treat him so well. Plus, she's in New York for a play. Will he stay with her? Or fall for Melanie?

Nikki Leano- The star of Burlesque. Catty, mean, always in for a fight. But what happens to Nikki when Melanie comes and steals her spotlight? Will she learn that Melanie's only trying to be nice? Or will she stay catty Nikki for the rest of her life? Dating Marcus. RESERVED!

Char - The owner of Burlesque. But the taxes are falling through -- and Burlesque is the one thing she really cares about. She'll do anything to save it, anything it takes. Has a strong bond with most of the girls of Burlesque.

Marcus Genoria- Trying to outtake the bar. But he's falling in love with Nikki. Will she change him from being that smart, sly man he is? Or will he still take out Burlesque and everything it is?

Cocoa (Katherine) Hartman- One of the girls at Burlesque. Loves Melanie when she comes in. They become soon bonded together; best friends. Has a great way of moving on stage.

Ely Tantern- One of the wisest guys who plays the guitar at the club. Always looks out for each and everyone of the girls. Develops an interest for Katherine Hartman.

We will be accepting originals soon; but I'd like to get most of these roles filled first.
