Introduction

Camp DePrae- A History
Built on an old Indian burial ground, Camp DePrae has a long and spooky history. Originally DePrae Juvenal Detention Center, it was known for taking in the hardest juvenile criminals and them turning into almost robotic programmed angels. Although the place was high-security and very hush-hush, stories when around. Mumblings of brainwashing, hypnosis, threats, beating, and other cruel methods circulated, never being confirmed or denied. After almost 50 years of smooth running, one event would change the entire history of DePrae. There was an uprising of every prisoner against every warden. Needless to say, due to the fact that prisoners were aged 12-17 and wardens were heavily armed, not many of the children survived. The few that did were shipped off to other prisons and DePrae was closed and left in ruins. That was 1973.
In 2000 a rich man, Nicolas Bernard, bought the land. Mr. Bernard owned a pharmaceuticals company, and wanted to shake rumors of human testing by showing a charitable side. He cleared away the old prison to show the beauty of the land, including a forest, a clear blue lake, and wilderness that made the area so remote. Soon, he built a camp on the land. Two large cabin buildings and a main office we the focus of his plans, but no one but him knew the uses of the large back building. People assumed it was just storage, but no one except trusted personnel had ever ventured inside. Once the beautiful camp was build, with all the resources for a great summer, Camp DePrae for Troubled Youth opened.
The camp took in its first batch of juvenile delinquents the summer of 2010. Most of the children returned home changed people, and their parents were thrilled. But there was an accident, or so, that’s was the camp said. Three children died when the snuck out to the wilderness, mauled by some sort of animal. Their bodies were never found. This was the story the company stuck too, but many had suspicions. After investigating and finding nothing, FBI called in a special force to go undercover in the camp. The organization, which you will read about in the next section, is called MASC.

MASC- Multinational Agency for Special Cover
MASC is a secret organization assembled by the powerful governments of the world. Its main purpose is to assist in cases where a top undercover agent is need. MASC recruits of all ages so they have someone perfect for every job. For the DePrae job, two young adults with much training in defense and stealth were needed. They were going to be posing as councilors at the camp in order to find out what really was happening to the kids.

CURRENT STORY-
Now the second summer open, a new class of kids is being taken on a luxury bus to the wilderness to spend their summers in the beautiful Camp DePrae. Some will start to change and enjoy the camp, but others will refuse to participate. However, consequences are harsh for breaking rules. Most offenses are punished by a night spent in detention, located in the back building. Some kids claimed to have heard horrific screams in the night, but were quickly hushed. The councilors turn a blind eye to mysterious bruises and cuts. Can the agents find out the true nature of DePrae before time runs out?

CAMP DEPRAE RULES- (most are punishable by a night in detention)
1. All children must be in their cabins with lights out at 10 pm.
2. All children must be awake and at flagpole at 8 am.
3. No child or councilor may EVER enter the back building/detention center unless in accompanied by authorized personnel.
4. Any violence or misconduct will result in heavy punishment.
5. Any child who disobeys or talks back to councilors, or any other employees will face punishment.

INFO ON ON THE STABLES AND THE ORPHAN BARN

APPLYING:
Alright kiddies. I’m not going to be too rigid on any of the story, and I’m open to suggestion, however, I believe the only way for this to succeed is if the necessary roles are filled. It just will make things flow better. So, before you take the time to write up a beautiful character profile (which, I promise to read completely) I’d like you to post in the OOC or PM me so I can make sure everyone falls into place. I’ll provide a character skeleton, but I’m not going to be too strict on it.
ALSO: do not apply unless you’re willing to write at least one literate post ever one to two days. For everyone’s sake, it will be waaaayyy more fun if this moves along and everyone is commited. Obviously, I’m not going to kick you out if something comes up and you can’t post, but I’d like an effort please. *End ranting*

Character Skeleton:
  • Name: (I think you know what to do here)
  • Age: (check below for age range for the role you select)
  • Gender: (only about two options here…. But I don’t judge)

BRIAN
Brian grabbed a tattered copy of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy from his backpack and carefully maneuvered toward the front of the cabin. He opened the door and immediately was hit by a swoosh of cold wind. Quickly, he ran back into the cabin, grabbed a green sweater, and rushed out onto the porch. Black clouds in the sky made bare-chested boy sigh, signifying a storm was coming. Storms at DePrae meant freezing, wet nights in leaky cabins, and Brian was not looking forward to that. As he looked out over the lake, he shivered, realizing his sweater was still in his hand. He pulled it over his head before sitting down on a wooden chair and tenderly opening the book.

Just before he could begin reading the it for 32nd time, Brian looked out to see Emily burst out of the girl's cabins, a look of fury across her pale features. He almost stood to ask what was going on, but Ms. Evans exited the cabin only a moment after the blonde girl. The camp director's cold eyes were fixed on Emily, making Brian realize it was best to stay out of the trouble.

EMILY
"What gives you the right to look through my stuff? Doesn't that breach the fifth amendment or something?"

Emily was seething with rage as she stormed out on the porch with Ms. Evans on her heels. The bookish-looking redhead had found her stash of weed, lighters, and cigarette paper, which couldn't mean anything good. Not only would she get into LOADS of trouble, but she would also have to survive the rest of this hellish summer without something to take the edge off. She kicked a wooden chair on the deck before turning to face the director. Emily almost lost her aggressive edge as Ms. Evans approached, her dark eyes fixed on her with frightening focus. The teen felt as though the woman was staring directly into her soul, and she stumbled back a step, almost tripping off the porch. Trying to hide her fear, Emily put out an even angrier face, daring to flip off the adult.

MS. EVANS
With the bag of illegal goods still in her tight grip, Lillian followed the girl outside keeping her own rage in check. She knew Emily had a tendency to fly off the handle and fighting fire with fire was not the way to put the defiant teen in her place. After some dramatic prattle about amendments from the girl, Ms. Evans cast a terrible, milk-curdling glare, not even bothering to speak yet. She wanted Emily to feel the fear. When the blonde rebel stumbled, she knew it had worked. Despite Emily's rude gesture, Lillian Evans didn't flinch, keeping perfect poise as she slowly cornered Emily against the cabin.

"Emily, it seems I'll have no choice put to punish you for this," She gestured to the bag, "however, I might advise you to choose your actions wisely. Your discourtesy will only increase the severity of your punishment." Ms. Evans pursed her lips, making sure Emily wasn't going to speak again. After a pause that put her back in charge of the situation, the woman adjusted her glasses and continued.

"No dinner tonight. You are to remain in the cabin until lights out, then I will escort you to detention in the back building. If you attempt to leave the cabin, there will be two nights in detention. Am I making myself clear?" Her voice cut into the girl, marking her dominance. She aggressively grabbed Emily's lanky arm and dragged her into the cabin, standing on the porch and taking a deep breath as soon as the girl was inside. She noticed the young man, Brian, had seen the entire episode, but decided not to acknowledge him.

# The Camp, 2011-04-01 02:27:05, as written by Fammikins
All of his lovely dancers glide across the pasture as he whistles for them. Jack is wearing dark denim jeans with his leather jacket over a Camp DePrae polo, collar torn off. He feels like a jackass wearing it. Even after a year. Reaver cowers behind him anxiously, eyes wide and tail curled between his legs. The saluki gets anxious during storms and around loud noises in general. Reaver was born in a puppy mill. You might think this would be a hard life, which it was, but it was all the puppy had known at the time so he more or less grit his teeth and bared it. With ten siblings and listless parents the puppy found ways to entertain himself in ways only a puppy can.

By the time he was six weeks old he was packed into a box with his littermates. Oh! Adventure, hoo-ray! Reaver and his siblings were excited. Surely mommy and daddy will be coming too. Instead, Reaver's sire was led down a long hall to a back room as his dam was taken out of the kennel. Well...wait. Wait, wait! Where are his parents going? More importantly, why aren't they coming with the puppies? Reaver began to cry with his brothers and sisters, yapping and kiyeeing until a lid was sealed over their crate. Packed like sardines, their crate is moved to a new room. It's big, cold, echoes with the lamentations of dogs begging for mercy and love, and smells heavily of copper. Reaver and his siblings have been moved into a slaughterhouse.

Being the oddball of the litter as his siblings are multicolored and he a blank canvas, Reaver was gripped by the scruff and suspended in air. All around him he could see adult dogs being abused savagely. The puppy kicked and squirmed, still crying for his parents, terrified of this place and of the bad person holding him. He doesn't like this; he wants to be in a big fur pile with his siblings and snuggle against his mommy's warm belly. Being placed on a mobile belt he cowered while hearing a hammer smashing down on something up ahead in the room the belt leads to. The human turned away and Reaver started running. Jumping down from the belt he finds the only place he can hide. Between boxes lined with the unwanted parts of the canines that go through here. While Reaver was able to remain out of sight his siblings hadn't been so lucky.

He hid there for days among the macabre collection. One night loud bangs were heard, outside a storm raged on. A police sting was going on. As soon as a door opened Reaver bolted for the outside. Stained red he streaks across puddles before being picked up by a young animal activist. Jack took Reaver to the animal clinic for evaluation. After a few weeks of being diagnosed and cared for the puppy was put up for adoption. Reaver was taken home by Jack who spent months building a relationship with the animal, helping him know love and friendship. Now an adult the saluki will follow Jack to the end of the world and anyone else who rubs his belly.

Mia was lucky to have been hit by Jack's motorcycle back in the city instead be found by Reaver. He felt so awful he paid to fix her up and took her home. Now he has the dogs as his babies and the horses as his friends. Again he whistles, rattling the basket of apples to entice the gorgeous animals to plow towards him. Duchess is obviously very stressed, rolling her eyes and staying close to Foghorn, the herd's unspoken papa. "Easy Duchess...come on." he coos to the herd as they go into their respectable stalls. Jack drops an apple in the treat box hooked inside of the stall's opening before making sure the horses are locked up. Some of them balk at humans but have warmth for Jack. He simply has a way with animals. If only that could reflect on people.

There's no sign of his brother, Dante, just yet. No doubt the younger counselor is tending to the orphaned animals still. Jack spies one of the regulars, what's-his-face (Jack never uses names), trying to read on the porch of the cabin. Ascending the stairs he curtly flicks his wrist, fingers knocking the book closed. He smirks at the boy in appraisal. The more Jack picks on you the harder he is trying to be your friend. In a sense. Reaver slinks inside of the cabin while Mia sits on a corner of the porch to snort at the girl's cabin. Jack frowns, withdrawing a pack of smokes from his pocket. He withdraws a cigarette and lights up with a grateful inhale to inflame the cherry bomb at the end. Exhaling smoke from his nostrils like a dragon of old he wordlessly observes the incensed (although quite lovely) redhead. Ms. Evans.

Jack watches with a hint of a frown on his lips. Ms. Evans would only take something if it were illegal to have in possession. Aw Emily...thought you were better than that, kid. It couldn't be cigarettes. No need to haul an entire bag for cigarettes. He sighs, flicking off some ash as his free hand tangles his fingers through his obsidian tresses. Judging by how flared the redhead's nostrils are she most likely didn't want to be approached on the matter. Hopefully Emily was smart enough to just go quietly. Finally Jack inclines his head at the boy on the porch. "...hey. Justin Long look-a-like. You still need to pick out a horse for tomorrow." tomorrow a fresh schedule begins since the camp is adding new troubled youths. His pale eyes sift to watch Ms. Evans thoughtfully.

Rico opened his eyes slowly. Something was restricting his movement… seatbelt, he noted, looking around. A car, moving, what appeared to be wilderness shooting past outside the windows.

He fidgeted in his seat. He had fallen asleep, that's right - fallen asleep some time after they left. He'd been exhausted, an argument with his mother going on long into the night before. Upon waking up, he now had a funny taste in his mouth and felt unpleasantly groggy. The driver in the front seat continually glanced back at him warily, and there were two others in the car- counselors, they'd said they were.

Now that he was awake, he was itching to get up and stretch his legs. It was raining outside, the overcast sky grey and depressing, only adding to his rather dreary mood. They seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. He could see… a lake. Trees. Apart from the road, no visible signs of civilization.

"I do not like the rain," he announced, deciding the silence had gone on long enough. "So what's this camp thing about, then? We just get counseling or some shit like that? Seems like a waste of time to me."

Man, he did not want to be here. 'Troubled youth' indeed! His mother had told him he was lucky not be sent to a juvenile center, but this camp didn't seem like his sort of thing. Hopefully it'd be a bludge and he'd be able to get home soon.

The sleek black Mercedes glided effortlessly along the highways, taking them to the middle of bloody nowhere, for all she could tell.

The passenger who rode shotgun was a slender young woman of perhaps two decades in age, fair of face and dark of coloring, presently with a look of concentration etched over her face. Every few minutes or so, she would turn a page in the book she was holding, but other than that, she might have been a statue save for the slight rise and fall of her chest as she breathed.

The majority of the trip was passed largely in silence, since the kid in the backseat was asleep, and truthfully Samira had no desire to wake him up, or make conversation with her partner. Not that she minded Luke, it was simply a matter of self-preservation. From the moment she stepped out of this car, she was going to have to be friendly, approachable, tolerant. Things that required considerable effort to achieve where she was concerned. It was not as though she were actively mean, just that she knew it would be difficult to truly relate to anyone she might encounter.

The children at this camp, she had been told, were all from well-to-do families and in need of some form of attitude adjustment. Samira was the daughter of a poor Iranian refugee, and had worked herself to the bone for every stroke of "luck" she'd ever encountered in her entire life. It was not going to be such a simple matter to put all that aside, but she would do it. Later.

The sound of a single page turning broke the silence, and Samira relished in the cold, logical sanity of Machiavelli; her cover as a philosophy student at an American university in need of summer employment had been perfectly contrived- down to her own history as a "troubled youth." It had been the interview that really sold the whole thing, of course- nothing quite like a tailored wardrobe and Colgate smile to convince people that you had the sweetest of intentions.

She flicked a dark-eyed look over her shoulder to the back seat when the kid began to stir, apparently waking at last from the latent state he'd slipped into almost as soon as the vehicle had started to move. "So what's this camp thing about, then? We just get counseling or some shit like that? Seems like a waste of time to me." Closing her book softly with a purely internal sigh, Samira decided that there was no time like the present to get started.

You and I both. "There is a bit more to it than that," she replied diplomatically, turning her head to look back at him. "But I think you will better understand when we get there." Her voice was obviously not American- there was a slight British inflection to it, but with unusual musical tones. Anyone who had ever heard Arabic of Farsi spoken would understand why. The softness of the 'ahs,' lilt to the 'ees' and slight buzz to the 's' were all quite characteristic of both. She flashed a smile before turning to face forward again, watching the rain patter at the windshield before being mercilessly swept away by the wipers.

She was unconvinced that there was even anything to be found here, at this camp, but she had been assigned to investigate, and investigate she would. Hopefully, it would be over quickly, and she could return to her ordinary terms of duty- ferreting out terrorists and militants.

Oh how easily he had sold the illusion himself. Though he was here as more of a Physical instructor. (sports and swimming amongst other things that at most camps were to be done) He was able to get on just as easily as his partner had. Though he did it with alittle less of an enthusiastic way, his first big assignment since joining the agency. He was looking forward to it, and he wasn't. It was hard to explain it, he came from a strong and closely knit family; thus he didn't understand when kids misbehavior. He, himself never having the luxury of really being a kid after his mother had past; then him assuming the rule of 'mother' of the household. Though he shook this from his head. He returned his glance outside the window on his side; his mind following the trees that seemed to fly by. He was rather intrigued by the thought of being at a camp. He'd been camping before, but with his father and sisters, never like this.

He listened to the boys words and smiled, going to speak; but stopped as he was beaten to the punch by his partner; Samira. He laughed alittle at her words. "aye Lad, I think she be right; just wait and see nn?" He then came to realize his accent was getting heavy again; curing inwardly he took a deep breath and exhaled. "S-sorry bout that; I'm still so use to using my dad's mannerisms, growing up in a heavily Irish family? It's like we talk more with growls and yells and stuff then anythin'" He joked and smiled at the boy. He returned his gaze properly to the window then looking forward alittle to Samira, wondering what was running through her head; before they had got in the car she had voiced her opinion on this investigation, and he had listened to her detest about it. He agreed with her in some ways, other's not so much, but here they were; and they'd have to do this right. He pulled alittle at his zip-up hoody with the name of his favorite american band and it's logo plastered over it; Avenged Sevenfold. He found this band somewhat relaxing, though his father called him a ninny-headed arse for playing it so loud at night. Luke slowly began to realize the car was slowing from natural speed of the highway and blinked a few times to clear away the images of memories to realize they were nearly there.

His excitement, anxiousness, and fear all bundling together and making his stomach hurt as he gripped it as it made a rather odd noise. "Oy, I don't feel to well, never knew you could get carsick.." He stated trying to make it seem like he was fed up with the ride; and not with the destination as he closed his eyes and began to count to thirty, and back to one until his stomach quieted and the pain and sick feeling was gone.

"There is a bit more to it than that," the female counselor said. She seemed friendly enough, and again Rico wondered whether this camp thing would just be lovey-dovey counseling stuff.

"Aye Lad," the male added, "I think she be right; just wait and see, nn?" They both had accents, Rico nodded with a raise of his eyebrows. The male took a deep breath suddenly, "S-sorry bout that; I'm still so used to using my dad's mannerisms, growing up in a heavily Irish family? It's like we talk more with growls and yells and stuff than anything."

He smiled at Rico, who grinned back. Before he could reply, however, the man suddenly gripped his stomach.

"Oy, I don't feel too well, never knew you could get carsick…"

His eyes shut, and Rico blinked.

"Better take deep breaths, man," he replied, attempting to be helpful. "Or else you may just puke! I had a mate once who used'ta get real nau-se-ous in the car, right? Upchucked all over me while on a school excursion. He used'ta breathe into a paper bag, eh?! Do you need a paper bag?!"

EMILY
Emily ran her hands over her face as she crossed the cabin, plopping down on her bed and staring to the ceiling.

"Detention." She whispered the word aloud, her heart racing as she began to process what was planned for her. A slew of curse words escaped her lips in a muddled mess as she laid out. The rumors and whisperings of what exactly detention was were so mixed, making dread overtake her. This was not going to be good.

MS. EVANS
After waiting to hear Emily's feet patter away from the door and towards the beds, Ms. Evans regained total composure. Within a moment, the smell of Jack's cigarette danced over and filled her nostrils. Her piercing eyes shot back to the porch of the boy's cabin and she walked with calculated speed to the next-door cabin. Staring up to Jack with her arms crossed, Lillian tapped a foot.

"I'd prefer if you didn't smoke on camp grounds, Jack." Her tone was far less cutting with the councilor than Emily because she knew it was pointless to try to stop him. Plus, she needed him and his brother to care for the animals. A smile ALMOST flicked over her lips, but she quickly suppressed it as she noticed the bag of marijuana, lighters, and ciggarette paper in her arms.

"Please dispose of this. I have to greet the new campers and councillors." Her order was firm as she finally eradicated any emotion from her voice. After handing Jack the bag and acknowledging Brian with a slight nod, she walked with purpose towards the office and the small parking lot to wait.

BRIAN
Brian was digging into the book, trying to look uninterested in the Ms. Evans/Emily skirmish when he almost jumped out the chair. As his book slammed shut, Brian almost stood and shouted, but quickly refrained as he realized it was Jack. Setting the book on the chair's arm rest, he watched the councillor with interest as he lit up. Brian was a bit jealous because he missed the warm taste of a cigarette. When Jack spoke, mentioning a resemblance to Justin Long, Brian was shaken from his thoughts on smoking.

"Could I take Frostbite?" He took a moment to think about the horses he had seen and remembered the speckled beauty of Frostbite. Ms. Evans approached just as he spoke, making him stick his nose back into the book. Brian didn't want any trouble... today at least.

About to remark about Frostbite Jack held his tongue when he noticed the dragon lady making a beeline for them. On the porch Mia growls softly. She doesn't like another woman getting close to her daddy. His eyes remain steady and his posture casual as Ms. Evans approached to say her piece along with handing over the bag. Jack took the bag without fault, gingerly plucking it open to scowl at the inventory. It'll be a long night for that poor girl. Possibly a long camp session with Ms. Evans bunking with the girls. Poor, unfortunate souls. "Ja Frauline." he answers in German, a tongue inherited from his grandparents to the woman. Leave him to do all the dirty work. Which is fine really. It suits him. Jack watches her walk away and rumbles slightly in his throat.

"She's like some sort of cross between Hitler's girlfriend and Voldemort's nanny." he states absently before glancing at Justin Long. "Frostbite...strong horse. He's a biter but maybe you're into that sort of thing. If you don't mind a challenge I won't mind assigning you to him. Stay near me during rides, Frostbite behaves a smidge better around my horse, Dragon. Maybe it's an appaloosa thing." he shrugs as he fingers the bag handle. The ridiculously long haired man continued to smoke, toying with the thought of three new people in camp. Things will get interesting.

~~~
He had dressed lightly since the morning had been gorgeous. Not that Dante will ever complain about the weather. Really stormy weather is fun, exhilarating. All he can do is hope for thunder and lightning. Well not entirely since a couple of the animals on the grounds tend to wig out. Schedule log under one arm and on top of his sketchbook, Dante hurries for the boys' cabin but slowed when he saw Ms. Evans. The ice queen and possible antichrist. With a charming smile he dips his head, greeting her before scurrying towards the cabin. He rubs the shiba inu's ear before waving at both his brother and Brian.
"Hey Jack, hey Brian. Too bad the weather got sour...I was hoping for a campfire tonight." and smores. Oh lordy does Dante love smores. He blinks at the bag Jack is so haphazardly swaggering before quickly excusing himself inside, rubbing his upper arms briskly. Inside he grabbed his jacket and tugged it on tight. Dante simply dropped his schedule log and sketchbook on his bed before he stepped back out onto the porch again. Noticing Brian's book he smiles politely. "I read that a good while ago, it's a great book. Didn't know how to feel about the movie."
~~~

During that time Jack had disappeared into his private room of the cabin and locked away the bag. He'd destroy the items in the morning after tending to the horses. He snuffed his half smoked cigarette in the ashtray by his bed before walking out to Dante and Brian, rudely shouldering his brother down the steps. "Enough chitchat. Let's go find early seats for food."

Kisa sat quiet in the passenger's seat. Everything was silent except the car engine as she sat crossed-arm with a scowled face. "I know you don't want to go, but you need to to get rid of that attitude." The brunette stopped the car to let her out. She grabbed her duffel bag and slammed the door as her step-mother rolled down the window.

"I didn't ask you to take me in. Stop acting as if you are my parents. Your not. News Flash asshole!" She growled as her step-mother started to yell. She looked up at the sky to see it dark and dreary. "Great. Maybe I can runaway into the woods or something-" The people and kids cut off her sentence. Her step mother told her to find a counselor but more than likely she wasn't really. She walked near the cabins of the girls and stopped; duffel bag over her shoulder.

"Ok, well I guess I need to find the office." It was shocking that she would actually be listening to someone. She started her way up towards the office to find a lady; Ms. Evans making her way towards the office herself. She made her way towards Ms. Evan before stopping just a few feet away from her. "Er... hey old lady, are you the boss? If not, where can I find one...?" Her voice was cold and rude.

She stopped to wait for her reply.

The car pulled to a smooth stop, but Samira frowned. "He's right, Luke, just focus on your breathing. Luckily, we're here, so you can get out now." Taking her own advice, the young woman opened her door, clicking her seatbelt open and sliding out.

The first thing she noticed was that the air smelled fresh, like a pine forest, only there was a lingering undertone of animals. Samira had a moment of dread; she liked animals, she really did, just not the thought of being killed by them. It had always been an inward source of humiliation for her, how anything bigger than a dog had her backing up to keep as much space as possible between herself and it. Cows, sheep, horses, you name it, she was wary of it.

Still, she wasn't about to let her discomfort show, and certainly not when there wasn't even one around. The second thing she noticed was that she was glad for her all-purpose hiking boots; the gravel road had receded into mostly mud by this point. She hoped the kid wasn't wearing designer sneakers or anything; he didn't seem that bad.

About a millisecond after registering this, Samira observed a young girl stomping her way over towards a woman she recognized as Ms. Evans (having met the woman as part of the interview process, which she had to admit was suspiciously extensive for a camp). That wasn't going to end well. Her immediate impression upon meeting the older woman was that she would be a primary obstacle to discovering anything useful around here; the woman was if nothing else a stickler for rules and politeness.

Shaking her head minutely, Samira opened the door to her partner's side of the passenger seat. "You okay in there, Luke?" she asked cautiously, ready to duck aside at a moment's notice in case of projectile vomit. She figured Evans would notice their arrival and deal with them whenever the girl had been spoken to.

Luke settled into just breathing not realizing the car had come to a stop. Though as he did, and his partner had opened the door he moved his legs out the door, he was not as lucky in wearing boots, but he didn't mind getting his old sneaker dirty. He smiled up at her between the styled bangs. "I'm fine, thanks." He stated as he moved out of the car. The fresh air hitting him in the face which was a refreshing change of pace. He moved out alittle more stretching out his limbs for the car ride was longer then he enjoyed. Then He spotted the girl making her way to Ms. Evans. Oh he didn't think this was going to go well. Then again, it might show what they had to deal with right off the bat here. He moved over to Samira's side as he crossed his arms. "Sooo; you ready for this adventure?" He asked playfully offering a smile. He was personally feeling alittle fearful about their investigation. Ms. Evans would be the one thing that was going to make this more difficult then he thought at first.

He tapped the top of the car and looked inside at the boy. "Come on lad, get out here and enjoy the fresh air, least you won't die three years earlier by inhaling this.." He joked offering a friendly smile. He knew how it felt to be in a situation that wasn't to your own tastes so he could at least relate to the male. Though personally; he was here due to choice, he wanted to figure out was going on and stop it. He took another deep inhale of air as he closed his eyes. This was going to be a interest summer for him, first investigation and it's about what happens at a camp for juvenile delinquents. He shifted from one foot to the other, though the tug at his feet was letting him know he was sinking into the mud which only made him shake his head. "I should have worn boots like you" He said looking to her with a soft chuckle and indicated to his shoes.

Madison sat in the second row of her father's 2011 Toyota Sequoia her father had serval cars but this was his newest one and he was eager to drive it. Her body was stretched out on the seat, she leaned her head back against the cold water as she looked out of the window across from her. She had her headphones in her ears she was listening to Look At Me Now by Chris Brown, she looked over at her parents she couldn't hear a word they were saying over her music but they were talking about something. Madison has been in this car for a little over four hours. Her parents had tried to send her to camp twice when she was little, the first time she was nine and she "accidently" missed the bus and the second time she was thirteen her parents had put her on the bus and once the bus stopped at the first red light she hopped out of the emergency exit in the back of the bus. So learning from there mistakes in the past this time they were driving her to the camp and driving away without her. Madison couldn't believe her parents were really sending her away she also couldn't believe that she wanted the summer to be over so soon she was actually couldn't wait for school to come back. She sighed as she closed her eyes listening to the music as the next song came on.

Madison groaned she could feel someone tapping her she slowly opened her eyes to see her mother tapping her leg, apparently they had finally arrived to the camp while Madison had doozed off. The music still played in her eyes as her mother started talking and looking around, althought she couldn't hear her mother she was sure the woman was going on about how wondered the camp looked and how much fun her daughter would have here. She felt like reaching out and slapping her mother across her face like if this place was so great why didn't she just vacation here, over the last week all she heard out of her parent's mouths was Camp DePrae. As she looked at her mother's face she appeared to be angry and screaming at Madison which made the girl smile slightly, her mother grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the truck. She snatched the headphones out of her eyes "Do you mind" Madison snapped at her mother pulling the hood of her juicy couture sweatsuit over her head. "You weren't listening to a word I said" her mother stated after a moment, Madison just shrugged "Sorry" she said nonchalantly closing the car door. Her mother just shook her head while Madison's father brought her luggage over to her "Okay well I got all your stuff out of the truck now we will see you towards the end of summer" Madison sighed heavily looking down at her bags, even thought she was here she still couldn't believe this was happening to her.

Ten minutes later after getting the speech about this being her last shot from her mother, the rules from her father and goodbyes from the two of them she watched her parents drive away leaving her behind in the deserted, uncivilized, wilderness. She took the map her father had given her out of her pocket and read the directions. Then she put two bags over her shoulders and dragged her other two bags one in each hand. As she walked around the camp looking for the girl's cabin althought she would probably wouldn't say this out loud the place wasn't looking half bad, no wondered it costed so much to get in here. Finally after finding the cabin she threw her bags down on the porch, she wasn't use to heavy lifting and as heavy as she packed she was tired. She sat down on the porch watching the rain fall, the way she saw it this rain was the symbol of her summer. Depressing and miserable.

Rico pushed open the car door and stepped out, cringing as his sneakers sank into the mud. His mother had insisted upon buying him new ones before he went to the camp, but it looked as though they wouldn't be clean and white for long. A pity.

At least the male councilor seemed friendly enough. Rico grinned at him before turning and looking around. The air smelled fresh, the scent of pine needles lingering in the air, but he could also smell animals. The fringes of the forest started towards the back of the camp, and the lake was quite close by. Several cabins and buildings were situated beside the lake, and there was also a field.

Rico shivered in the rain and pulled his jacket closer about himself. This is… different to what I expected, he thought cautiously. He wrinkled his nose as the wind blew into his face, bringing with it the heady scent of horses.

There was one woman who was talking to a girl, and they both appeared to be glaring. Rico watched with interest, but turned away as he realized that he couldn't see what they were saying. Another girl, holding what seemed to be a map, marched up to one of the cabins and flung her baggage down. On the other cabin, a boy with a book sat.

Okay. This doesn't seem too bad, he thought.

"Right!" Rico declared once he had sufficiently taken in his surroundings. He lifted one foot with a grimace - his sneakers and the edges of his jeans were now muddy and uncomfortably damp. Squelching slightly, he walked around the side of the car to stand next to the counselors.

"So!" he rubbed his hands together and beamed. "We're here then! What do we do now? And why can I smell animals? Are there animals here or something?" Having not bothered to read the information booklet about the camp that had been provided for him, he really had no idea what was going on here. "I thought kids were meant to go here cause they were bad or something… but it looks more like a holiday camp to me!"

Rose swung open her car door. She pulled out her heavy bags, struggling under there weight. She looked back to see the car speed away without So much as a 'good bye' or a 'love you'. She sighed. ROse stood there for a moment. She saw a guy reading a book outside. She didn't know where to go, she stood awkwardly for a while until she quickly remembered her map. She looked around her for a second the woods were pretty at least... Dropping her heavy bags she looked around to see where she had placed her map. Digging trough her stuff she was unsucessful and gave up quickly, looking down Rose realized one of her bags was in the mud. She huffed. 'another thing going wrong'

"stupid bag! Stupid mud! Agh" she muttered. She tried to lift her bag unsuccessfully, she pulled her long blond hair out of her face and pulled it uP into a ponytail. With her hair out of the way she decided to try to lift her bags again. She grabbed the handle and lifted. Rose screamed in frustration. She sat down on her bag, put her hands in her head and sobbed.

Seconds later Rose glanced up at the sky, little grey droplets of water fell miserably. She shivered slightly as the first rain drops hit her. Still sitting with her hands in her head, she didn't even bother to get out of the rain. Maybe she would catch a cold and would be allowed to leave. She brightened at the thought.

Madison sat on the porch for a moment she saw the boy's cabin across from the girls there was a boy sitting on the porch reading a book. The only thing she read out of school was magnizes and whatever people worte on her facebook page. She finally decided to get up, she stood up and grabbed her bags and slowly dragged them into the cabin. Lucky for her she did cheerleading because that is the only excerise she ever got but, it kept her in shape. Once inside she threw her bags on a random bed in the room, for a camp that costed so much to get into this was nothing special to her. She quickly exited back out of the cabin she was new to this camp and decided since this was her "last chance" she should give it her shot and the way to do that was to first off meet some people. Make some friends.

She through her hood back over her head before stepping back out into the rain. She walked around the camp, she hadn't gone far before she came upon a girl. Her luggage was in mud and she was sitting on one of her bags Madison wasn't sure if she should bother her but she felt like the girl could use her help. She slowly approached her from the side when she was in reaching distance she lightly tapped her shoulder "Um hi there ...... need any help" she asked with a small smile.

EMILY
Emily didn't even blink as a new girl quickly entered the cabin, threw her bag on a bed, and exited. She wasn't really in a good mood for making new friends today. Once she was alone, the girl closed her eyes and pulled her guitar into her lap, running her hand along it's wooden curves. As she hugged the instrument to her chest, she let the sound of the rain on the window guide a rhythm and began strumming some chords. Something about the warm vibrations of bass notes and shrill dings of the first strings calmed her enough to get her heart rate down. She was able to remove herself from the world and become the music. It didn't matter what she played, she just let her fingers walk along the fret board and dance with the strings.

BRIAN
Brian knew what the councilor saw in Emily's bag as he picked a small whiff of the substance. It was a pity really. Emily seemed to be the only who was able to get something through the extensive and rather invasive security checks. He had planned to ask her if she would share the drug, but now it seemed he would have to stay in boring soberness. He couldn't help but grin with Jack's remark about the boss-lady, he couldn't deny the resemblance of personalities. He stood and stretched as the man described Frostbite.

"I'm always up for a challenge." His crisp voice was laced with total confidence. Brian NEVER liked to back down from a challenge, and this was probably one of the reasons he ended up at this godforsaken camp. A boyish grin crossed his features as he looked Jack in the eyes. He stood at about the same height as the councilor, he noted before Dante approached.

"Yeah, I'm more of a fan of the book myself." Brian replied as the other counselor commented on his book. After speaking, he sat again and resumed his reading. He noticed a few new people wandering, but decided to wait until dinner to introduce himself. He almost stopped a girl that wandered into the boys cabin, but decided to allow her to enter for a good laugh. As Jack shouldered Dante and they took off towards the dining hall, Brian closed the book and shouted to the councilors.

"Be there in a minute!" Then he stood, adjusted his sweater, and enter the cabin to find the girl had fainted. She was very young, no more than 13, and small. Gently, he sat her up, tapping her to see if she would awake.

"I think you have the wrong cabin..." He murmured, looking at her with a cross between curiosity and amusement.

MS. EVAN
As the new counselors and campers arrived, Ms. Evans held perfect confidence, even as a few of them decided to find their own way to the cabins. She put on a light, false smile as most approached. Her eyes fell to the car with Rico, Luke, and Samira.

"Rico, please find your way to the boy's cabin and let any others know dinner is beginning. If you didn't hear, I am Ms. Evans. You may come to be with any questions or concerns, however, I'm sure you'll find orientation quite informative." After dismissing the boy as well, she finally approached the new councillors.

"Ms. Djalili, Mr. O'Connell, welcome to Camp DePrae. I'm sure from my previous briefings, you should know where to go? I will be co-counseling in the girl's cabin with you, Samira. And Luke, you will be working with Jack and Dante Wufen. Please, ensures the children are on time for dinner." She spoke briefly and professionally, acknowledging both of them with piercing eye contact. She then turned and made her way to the dining hall, not bothering to look back to make sure they were following.

Upon entering the dining hall, she did a quick overview to make sure dinner was prepared. Then, she stood near the entrance, waiting for campers and councilors to arrive.

You may come to be with any questions or concerns, however, I'm sure you'll find orientation quite informative," the woman said. She turned away, dismissing him, and Rico shrugged, hefting his bag onto his shoulder before looking around.

I assume the cabin with the dude reading outside was the boy's cabin, he thought. Well, obviously. Although said dude reading was now no longer outside, he made his way over to the cabin and walked in.

"Yo!" he called out as he sauntered through the door. The cabin was a simple affair, beds lining the walls. The boy he had seen reading was now crouched over what seemed to be an unconscious young girl.

Rico's eyebrows rose.

"Okaaay," he said slowly, pottering forward and reaching over the other boy to prod the girl. "Dude, what's she doing in here?" He sniggered at the randomness of the situation.

Regan sat up to see two guys staring at her.She blushed and grabbed her stuff.
"Uh hi! I am Regan sorry about that. I will leave now..heh..." Regan muttered.
She stared around, looking confused. Finally she smiled, waved and started towards the door. She stopped and blinked a few times and shook her head. 'What was I doing?' she thought. She sighed and shook her head, frowning at her idiocity. She dropped one of her bags and picked it back up and finally, went outside.

Jack snorted abrasively at Justin Long's cocky attitude but smirked appraisingly. If the boy wanted a challenge he'd surely find it in Frostbite. He mirthfully narrowed his blue eye while his brown eye arched its eyebrow. After getting off the porch with Dante in tow he squinted ahead towards the drop off. Three figures had gotten out of the car; two adults and one young man by the looks of it. No doubt the two new counselors and another addition to the boys' cabin. Oh goodie. Another toy. The dark haired man smirks, bemused by his boiling schemes, as he continued for the dining hall. Although he stops at the sight of two girls out in the rain. Ach. Rain. Jack's eye twitches as a droplet splatters on his cheekbone before lumbering towards the girls.

Both of them are shorter and the girl sitting down and crying (for no logical reason. She doesn't look injured. Maybe she forgot her pills? Or Jack could just be that careless.) seems a bit like a Mudkip. She's small, pouting in the mud and just being foppish as she sits astride her luggage. The girl trying to comfort her looks remarkably like Stacy London. Perfect. He's just met two new girls and has figured out their names. Jack sighs, yanking the bags up to either force Mudkip (Rose) to fall in the mud or stumble against Stacy London (Madison). The man looks at the dark haired maiden first. "Get Mudkip to the dining hall please, Stacy Londonl", he points off to it, "Dinner will be served soon. I'll go put her things in the girls' cabin." with a grunt the horse trainer trots off into the girls' cabin, going past a young girl (Regan) along the way.

He dropped the bag onto an unoccupied bed, spying one of the previous campers, Emily. Jack knows her name since Ms. Evans yelled it so often. Still he won't use it. He wrings his hair back over his shoulders, hesitant as he considers something. While she did break some heavy rules he doesn't want the kid to suffer too severely for it. "I can sneak you at least a bottle of juice or something, Amazon." Emily is certainly tall for her age and reminded Jack of some sort of amazonian woman. He admires her guitar and the rapport she seems to have with it.

At the boys' cabin Mia walked inside, bristling somewhat at the intrusion of two new people. She uttered a single, sharp bark. Unlike the playful and loving saluki (currently cowering under Jack's bed) this shiba inu is trained more as a guard dog. She's chased her share of kids away from Jack's room to prevent theft more than anything. Sitting at the counselor's door she stares luridly at both Brian and Rico. She's smart, she knows they have to be going for dinner. They'd better leave soon.

~~~
Dante had grabbed his umbrella before hurrying off after Jack and leaving Brian to do as he needed before dinner. He too noticed the new arrivals with a brightened expression. Supposedly one of them is the new art instructor. He'd love to get to know them better being a hobby painter himself. That'll have to wait during a free hour any of the counselors have or even meal times obviously. Dante winced as Jack more or less interacted with the two girls outside. He smiles sheepishly and moves, holding the umbrella over the two. "Sorry, that was Jack...I'm Dante." his brow furrowed in genuine concern for the crying girl. He was impressed that the dark haired one showed any care though. Usually kids who came to this camp only looked after themselves.
"May I know your names? I'd like to sit with you two during dinner. There'll be warm food in the dining hall and possibly dessert." everyone likes some form of sweets right? Maybe the crying girl is just scared about this new place. Dante does feel a bit bad for her, for all of them really. From what he's heard their parents don't care enough or simply aren't there to do anything.
Samira simply nodded to Ms. Evan's direction, though her face retained a pleasant, if not entirely happy, expression. "I'll see you later," she told Luke. Her tone was perfectly like someone who had just met a soon-to-be coworker, and she retrieved her luggage from the back of the car without so much as another glance in his direction. She would have made some kind of joke about his shoes, but then Evans has been there far too soon for it to be perfectly clear to do so.
The young woman was something of a stickler for details, all things considered, and for this reason alone, she could come off as unfriendly. There had been a bit of awkwardness when she'd first met Luke, because he was so much more outwardly friendly than she was, but she was certain that by this point he had to know she didn't mean anything by her brusqueness.
Hefting her solitary suitcase without difficulty, she noticed a man having a discussion with a pair of girls who appeared to be new campers. Another counselor, perhaps. She resolved to learn everyone's names before the day was out; it was the most basic kind of information to have, and she could find some way to send the data back to her agency for background checks. She knew a bit about everyone who was there already, of course; Masc wasn't about to send them in completely blind, but who knew how much personnel had changed recently? Besides, she'd have to attach faces to the information she did have.
She wiped her feet carefully before crossing the threshold to the girls' cabin, slightly unnerved that she'd be sharing the space with Evans. That was going to make getting information harder than she had initially anticipated, at least in one sense. Samira chose a bed against a window, noting that there was one other girl in the cabin at present, strumming away on a guitar, and a man carrying a few bags. Might as well start being sociable, right?
Dumping her suitcase on her bed for now, Samira pushed a loose strand of hair back from her face and turned, facing the two with a small smile. "You play well, if you don't mind me saying so," she commented truthfully to the girl. "My name's Samira, but you can call me Sam if you'd rather. I guess I'm one of the counselors now." She stuck out her right hand, inviting the girl to shake it before turning to the room's other occupant. "Counselor or glorified doorman?" she asked with a hint of sardonic humor; her smile widened a bit. The agent had always been one of those women that insisted on doing just about everything herself, and though chivalry as a concept was not entirely lost upon her, she was of the opinion that one should never bring more than one could carry.
Having not been present for the comment about the juice, she had no idea that Emily had been prevented from eating dinner. "Dinner's pretty soon, I'm told. Perhaps we should all be getting a move on in that direction? Ms. Evans does not strike me as the kind to tolerate a lack of punctuality..."
Luke felt like a soldier standing at attention and with his back perfectly linear. "Aye Ma'am, will do." He stated his irish accent slipping out heavily. He then watched as she left as well as Samira. "Yeah bye~" He called with a slight wave. He then shouldered his duffel bag, which was nothing more then a few changes of clothes, and then a pair of pocket knives; he never left home without a knife; sometimes he'd even bring a dagger along but those were always hidden on his person. He slowed his footsteps as he neared the door to the boys cabin turning to watch a guy trek off towards the girl's cabin with a bag. He tilted his head but paid no mind as he made it inside. "well long time no see Kid~" He indicated to Rico; who they had just had a ride in as he playfully smiled, though his attention turned to the other boy who was here. "annd you must be another one of the campers, pleasure mate I'm Lucas O'Connell, but just Luke will do fine; never been much of a sir or a Mr." He said with a wink. He threw his bag onto one of the bunks and shifted it through it to grab both of his knives one he spun in his hand popping the blade out and inspecting it making sure the ride didn't harm it in anyway before he slipped it into his right pocket the other he held in his hand tightly; a memento of his mother. "So lad's we best get to the dining hall; Ms. Evans doesn't seem the sort to deal with lollygagging." He stated with a smile
He then noticed the dog sitting at a door, he smiled and instantly his love for animals surfaced. "Awww what a cute dog.." He stated moving alittle closer, though not enough to be threatening as he knelt down offering out a hand. "I take it she's Either Jack's or Dante's dog right? she's quite adorable~" he stated. Wolves and dogs were his thing; though he much adored cats too, having two back home one of them a kitten he had nursed from a bottle the other a stray that he had picked up from a shelter. He found the company of animal's relaxing, more so then his share of friends that he had made; though he'd never say it outloud.
ROSE looked up to see a dark haired girl. She put a fake smile on her face, she was mad at herself for being so emotional. She smiled more sincerely. She stood up quickly and pulled her hair out lettin it fall down her back and in front of her face. One o the guy Councilors Jack, grabbed her bags for her. Her smile widened. She felt like hugging the guy right there, she restrained herself.
"I'm fine, thank you. I'm Rose". She glanced around looking for the girls cabin. She spotted it again this time successful. She started to walk quickly, when one of the Councilors said something. Food spiked her attention. She smiled.
"great, thank you". She followed the guy to the cabin so next time she knew where it was. , she saw some of the other councilors she started to get happier. Maybe her time here wouldn't be so bad.
Rose stood outside the cabins, she glided inside quickly, She re brushed her hair in the mirror and rushed outside
To dinner. She stood for awhile trying to see some people that she could talk to.
BRIAN
Brian simply shrugged to Rico as soon as the girl, Regan, rushed from the cabin. Standing a bit taller, he turned to look the new kid up and down. After a moment of this, he put on a grin and spoke.
"I'm Brian." He offered a hand for the other kid to shake before continuing, "And we better head to dinner, or that dog might attack us." After noticing Mia in the doorway, Brian turned to exit, glancing back so Rico would follow him. Once outside, he quickly rushed to the dining hall to get out of the rain. Noticing Ms. Evans in the doorway, the tall boy simply nodded and quicken his pace to get to a table. He patted the seat next to himself, inviting Rico to join him.
MS. EVANS
Ms. Evans sternly nodded in reply to Brian as he entered, her eyes darting to her watch. The boy was just on time, however, the other would be late if they didn't arrive soon. A habit of impatience, she tapped her foot, annoyance taking over her features. She would have to make a point about punctuality in tonights presentation.
EMILY
Emily looked up with a brave face as Jack offered to smuggle her a juice and called her by his nickname. She found it funny that the male counselor never called any of the kids by name, even though she was sure he knew hers by now. Even as she noticed the new counselor enter the cabin, she didn't let her concentration flip from her reply to Jack.
"No thanks. I'll be alright." Forcing a weak smile, she turned down to the guitar again, until the woman approached, complimented her guitar playing, and introduced herself. Her weak smile turned into a modest grin as Samira offered a hand to shake.
"Thanks, I'm Emily." With these words, she lightly shook Sam's hand. "Unfortunately, the wicked bitch of the west has barred me from tonight's dinner due to a disciplinary offense, so I won't be able to join you. But you should enjoy it, the food is actually pretty good here." The girl shrugged and and played a few more chords after explaining to Sam, whom she was hoping would be one of the cooler counselors.
Once she got back into playing, her body language easily communicated that she was done talking with them and that they should leave her be.
Re: [OOC] Camp DePrae for Troubled Youth
Haha no. My injury is completely un-Soki related. Skiing accident. Some damn little kid cut me off, made me eject from my skis, cartwheel, get knocked out, THEN RAN INTO ME WHILE I WAS BLACKED OUT. What's the matter with kids these days? But yeah. My whole face is scratched up too. Bleh it sucks.
