Introduction
Still accepting new characters. Feel free to post comments in the OOC and shwhat not. It's my hope that more of you choose to create new characters to give this a shot. I'm being lax on the histories and such to a point but will be strict with the rules. And not everyone has to start together though if you start alone you will still have to wait for at least one other to post before you post again. The point is survival, nothing beyond that yet has been revealed. Once again feel free to drop criticism and questions in the OOC. Oh and the only reason I put romance was because someone might well do something like that. Sorry for the delay again, but would really like to get this going again, maybe make it more continual.

Rated M. It's rated so because so many things could happen in this role play involving violence and gore, and swearing and anything you come up with. So I'd best put it out there, anything could happen but keep in mind that Zombies will be/are everywhere.
The sun was out and the wind was blowing gently today. A beautiful day to be visiting in the Apocatropics. The island was the perfect tourist spot with it's sandy beaches, wonderful all-year round weather, positioned perfect to be a shipping pit stop. Many people visited the island monthly on it's own cruise company, Horizons. But today wasn't going to be such a good day, for dark things were brewing over in the small town of Yorsidal.
"Mommy I want an Ice cream! I want an ice cream!" The child was cut short by a quick glare from his mother. They were standing outside the grand opening of this new Ice cream parlor, but they were also two hours early. She'd told him over and over again that they'd be far to early. But little Billy just wouldn't give up he said, "Oh it doesn't matter mommy. I can wait, I'll be good." Of course she'd knew it was a lie.
There were few people outside, even though the news had been bustling about this place. Nothing ever happened here in Yorsidal. But she just chalked it up to people still be sick from the outbreak of sickness that was taking a toll on a lot of people in the town. It was declared by the "officials", if there were any officials in the town, to be a food poisoning outbreak stemming from some bad meat brought in by one of the recent traders.
She looked around again, as Billy tugged on her shirt and said, "Look Mommy! It's Daddy!" She was going to tell him that was impossible as he'd just died today and that she felt getting ice cream would soften the blow, but she hadn't told him yet. Turning to look at what her son had thought was his father she went ghost white. Standing there only feet from her was his father, but something was terribly wrong with him. His breathing was off, his was pale and dripping with blood.
Before she could say anything, "father" sprinted forward closing the distant between them and grabbed her by the hair with one hand and the bottom of her shirt with the other. Pulling her to him he reared his head opening his mouth and took a massive bite out of the flesh.
Billy watched in terror as his father devoured his mother, and more things like him swarmed around grabbing the few people moving around the city and breaking into homes. Screams and shouting soon filled the streets as people ran for their lives in panic.
That was two weeks ago. At first everyone thought the military would come and save them from what was unfolding around them. But two days later when they did arrive in large force it quickly became apparent who was going to win. Now there are few people still alive scattered about the city desperately holding on to whatever keeps them alive.
Welcome to the Campaign of Brains. This will be a mature-content role-play where we will be playing survivors on the island. The campaign will mostly be centered on surviving. But as you go along you might begin to piece things together, which it’s okay if you don’t, and/or might try to stop/cure the infection. It will be mature, gory, and most pleasant. If you don’t think you can handle it, your free to quit at anytime. More will be explained to those that choose to join.

Reviews
AugmentationAudit wrote:The characters in the plot are relatively well played, however, it is wise to keep in mind several factors, such as ammunition amounts and the weights of weapons wielded; remembering to limit characters adds to realism even in a fantasy setting. Some combat rules might be beneficial to this style of project. Stipulating how and how the zombies came into being clearly would be wise. Despite this, you have clearly got a plot in mind that you are sticking too. In terms of depth, this story seems to be let down by one or two writers that need a little encouragement. Emotional reactions, insanity for instance, are common in this setting but seem to be a little neglected. I am afraid I had to give an "in progress" for mechanics, as there are a great number of errors in speech grammar, capitalization and the like. Some of these errors would be easily corrected with proof reading. It is, generally, one or two of the writers who are making these mistakes, and it would be wise to point out mistakes noted (politely and constructively) so that they could improve their posts. I also gave style an "In progress" as some posts make the narrative rather hard to understand. Overall, I think this RP has had considerable effort put into it, and with a little polishing could be an even better read. It shows a lot of promise, and is clearly enjoyed by it's players. To improve, I would look into psychology, especially under such trauma, also keep in mind that a lot of people would have a hard time in this sort of setting, have no idea how to load/use weaponry, etc. A little uncertainty would benefit the plot a great deal.
Izoi wrote:Many of the players show great ability to present a character well and keep in mind said character's traits when in play. But, one small thing that could lead to confusion is the posting in a separate area by the GM of things that are In Character, but not currently relevant yet. This role-play shows potential, but has some bugs that need to be worked on before it can truly realize that said potential.

A failing suburb of a major metropolis, Fairview has all the wonders of a city: pollution, bad kids, crass sayings and bums on the sidewalks, with none of the interesting places to go. It has a high population and is crammed with ethnicity of all types, but is also a notoriously unmotivated neighborhood. It's one of many suburbs of the New Metro.

Groaning once more before rolling over and sitting on the edge of the bed, he knew he shouldn't have had that last butterscotch and crown royal. He hopped out of bed wobbling some before milling about the room sifting through the drawers pulling out clothes he'd left out to have cleaned They had been cleaned and neatly folded in the drawers when one of the maid had cleaned his room. As he dressed himself he thought about what the island would be like. Just then a loud crackling static burst shot through the air, followed by a pleasant female voice.
"Attention. All passengers, we will be docking at the town of Newport within the next hour. Please enjoy the time you have left." With that the air fell silent again. Shrugging as he spritzed himself with his cologne before beginning to pack everything into his backpack. Giving the room one final look over, it was still a disaster, he exited his cabin heading for the sky deck.
The sky deck was a beautiful site. Coming up from below deck he could feel the warm sun, stronger then before. The cool spray of the ocean caught in the wind, the salty smell. During his time on the boat Carnabe had come to realize that he really liked the sea. Breathing deep closing his eyes for a second he took a few steps forward toward the starboard side, opening them he glanced around the deck spying for other passengers. For how big a boat this was, there only seemed to be a few hundred people. But hell he couldn't complain about it. After all he did win this from a contest he never entered.
Spying no one he moved towards the front of the sky deck, leaning on the railing looking over the front of the boat. He could see a few people milling about on the different open decks. But what really caught his eye was just coming into view on the horizon. The large blob of what looked like a mountain in the sea.

The man stared out the glass window with a grin on his face. He could see over all of the Upper District and most of the Middle District from his tower. All the people were scurrying along blissfully unaware of what was going on. The fools. Soon their pathetic little lives will be obliterated. The Infection will spread and these worthless people will have their lives mean something again. Still grinning he turned back heading over to his desk and sitting down. Kicking his feet up on the desk and leaning back in his chair he started to loose a maniacal laughter.
But he was interrupted by a knocking at the door. "Who dares disturb me?"
"It's me, Sir." came a nervous response.
"Oh, come in Edward. What do you want, can't you see I'm busying reveling in the genius of my plan."
Edward entered the office wearing his usual white lab uniform, he had a laptop in his hands. "Um, Sir I'm pretty sure you should look at this. These figures are much higher then we first expected. The Vir-."
"Edward! You know better then that. Don't dare say a word here." His voice was stern as he cut Edward off mid-way through his sentence. "Come now, let's head to the Lab." Getting up from his seat he walked over to a full-sized mirror on the left wall. Placing his hand at the top right corner of the mirror he waited. A loud beep could be heard and the "glass" slide down, revealing a passage way.

But, however it happened, he was here now. Face down in the bathroom, the glass of the shower door cracked and his head throbbing. Adrian didn't even sit up before touching the back of his tender scalp. It was crusty, as he pulled his hand back small crystals of dried blood were stuck to his fingers.
Huh. Musta been a good night then.
As he rolled over and sat upright he noticed he was naked. That wasn't unusual, clothing was highly overrated in his opinion and sleeping was no exception he just didn't remember. Still sitting on the hard tile floor he snatched the transparent orange pill bottle from its place on the counter, cracking it open and tossing two of the tiny blue circles down his throat. A lot of people needed water to get pills down, but not Adrian. He often joked that he could swallow a melon whole, provided it would get him high.
He stood slowly and carefully, one hand gently dabbing at the bruised spot on his skull. It wasn't fractured, he knew enough about medicine to know that. His legs felt like jello as he strolled out to the bedroom. A woman was curled up in his blankets.
Shame I don't even know who you are.
This was a rather common occurrence for him though, his life tended to be rather hazy most of the time. They would be docking at some point today, he remembered that, so he got to packing. He threw on a white v-neck shirt and a pair of shorts, perfect beach clothes. He had packed light, it consisted of mostly pills and money. He was in the process of taking "inventory" of his medicine cabinet when the loud speaker blared out the warning they would arrive at port soon. He grumbled, as the shrill voice of the woman made his brain pound against the inside of his skull. The woman, whoever she was, wasn't so much as stirred by the announcement, so Adrian simply finished checking he had everything and left for the sky deck.
Upon making his way up the stairs he spotted only a few other people who had arrived before him, no one who stood out particularly. And old couple, some scruffy fellow, a few bimbos that resembled the one still snoozing in his bed. Yawning he walked to the railing and leaned out, watching the island slowly grow on the horizon.

It was funny how what would normally be hell in charlies mind was actually going pretty well, the solitude of this boat was impressive, so much space, so little people, it made him feel in his element.
As the bartender served his drink, Charlie constantly scouted the bar, "this is weird" he thought.
"True its pretty early to drink, but why isn't there more people in the bar?", he was right though, out of all the bars on the ship, this one was the busiest cause it was the closest to the pool.
"Why is that?" he asked to the bartender.
"Well sir, yesterdays special event might be to blame, everyone was drinking a lot" said the bartender.
"I guess that's why everybody seemed so down in the corridors" said charlie as he made his way out of the bar.
If charlie had to pick one thing, just one thing that made this trip worth he would say without a doubt "That particular smell of sea and salt". A smell so distinctive and so nostalgic for him. It was now stuck in his mind, "sure 2 weeks would do that to you", he would say, yet it didn't make it any less pleasant.
As charlie made his way into the room he heard what he was waiting for. Charlie had been waiting for this announcement to dock for one reason, he wanted the chance to do something different. something he would normally cast aside as unnecessary, but for this brief space on time, for this vacation he made it his goal.

Some friend. Sent me here just because we had a argument. He didn't use that arm anyway. Harlam grunted, hefting the duffle bag and walking out the door to his room. His room was cheap, small, messy, and missing a sink, but he loved it. He had lived a trailer before now, and it was a lot worse. As he walked to the deck, he bumped into a short man, obviously drunk, wearing a big rainbow fedora.
"What!? Can you stop ramming people? Jesus!" The man yelled in his face, the reek of beer hitting Harlams face full on. He stood there, the drunk lecturing him on how to walk. Then the man said this: What the (Censored) do you think you are? You (Censored)! I swear i could take you on, (Censored)!" He then decided to jab Harlam in the stomach.
Harlam clenched his fists, drew one back, and gave a crushing punch to the face, prompting a scream from bystander. He grabbed the drunk, and dragged him to a handrail. He growled as he punched the moaning man at least seven times. When he was finished, the drunk had no teeth, a broken nose, and a black eye. He then he spat in his face and tossed him into the pool on the floor below.
Plenty of blood, lots of screaming, that was great. He laughed, calming down quickly. The security ran to him, delivered a flying tackle, and dragged the protesting Harlam to a improvised cell, which was a storage room. He was left there with a guard staring at him and holding his bag. Harlam glared at the guard, forming a plan while wiping the blood off his studded gloves.

Never forgetting to check his surroundings, he noticed that some of the people around him were getting their things packed. With all that buzz he remembered today was the day that boat was supposed to be docking. So he decided to stand up and go to his room. He was lucky it wasn't far, being in the same hall that the doors to the elevator were.
All packed up he decided he wasn't going to wait for other people to get off the cruise and went as near as possible to the exit. Weird thing was that even though they were so near to
the island the number of people there were too low for a cruise this time in the year. He hadn't noticed before because he was having such a great time. Didn't hurt that he doesn’t like crowded places.
Lets hit the bar and have another glass of juice before going off he thought to himself.
So near the island, so near the unexpected.

Her long red hair was down and straight, falling around her shoulders. She made a fist, making her mesh biker gloves wrinkle a little before she grabbed the pole and swung herself around it. She glanced down and saw her ample cleavage that was pushed up in a pink and black hearts and skull bra. Again, she smiled a tiny bit as she landed the swing, her black stilettos clicking against the floor. Her fingers gripped the pole before she leaned her upper half back, letting one hand go, then the other. She did a hand stand then winked at one of the men.
It was after her performance that Rue sat at the bar, smoking a cigarette and taking shots of some odd fruit drink. Her green eyes were a little glazed over from it all, but they still held their green shine. She had changed into a simple tight black tank top and tight light blue jeans. Her hair was up in a bun but her bangs were down in her face a bit. Her makeup with dark but beautiful. She took a drag off her menthol cigarette and then exhaled. "Hey Barky, when are we going to be there?" she asked the bartender who smiled lightly at her. "Soon. If your things aren't packed, you might want to go back them." He told her then gave her another shot. "This ones on me babe. You were great up there." He said then walked down to the other side of the bar.
Rue smiled, took her shot, and then finished her cigarette. Her things were packed and in the Hello Kitty bag at her feet. She decided she needed to buddy up with one of the guys, since she didn't like going places alone. After twisting around on the bar stool, her eyes scanned the room. "Too skinny. Too weak......" She growled, seeing as most the men in the bar were either with someone or too weak looking. She didn't want someone weak, that would murder the whole point of finding someone to fallow her. Her eyes continued to analyze each man in the room, hoping to find someone she could approach for short term companionship.

Carnabe had been idly chatting with an older couple, when he was interrupted by the message. "Well if you'll excuse my Dilan and Merri. I think it's time for us to get off this tin can." He smiled as took off for the main deck, following the grouping crowd of people coming out into the halls. Following the crowd he soon emerged out onto the Main deck. There were little booths setup just before exits. They were forming people into groups and giving them brochures with the events pre-planned for them.
Soon as he had come out, and attendant hurried over to him. "Mr, I'm here to help you over to a booth so that you get grouped up. It seemed strange for him to be dressed in a lab-coat, but the attendant hurried him over to the farthest exit. It had a different colored booth with other attendants dressed in lab coats.
"Why are you all dressed in Lab Coats? And why am I the only one being taken to this booth."
"You are part of the V.I.P Program we had, you either won your ticket, bought it, or gained it some other way. That part isn't my concern. I'm just supposed to take you here Carnabe."
Did that man just say my name?
"Okay so we were informed that there has been a small outbreak of flu in the city, and we have been authorized to give you a quick booster shot to prevent catching it. Now of course it's your choice. So what will it be?"
"Um, I guess?" Carnabe replied still not sure what was going on. It was all kinds of rushed, but he was hurried to the side of the booth behind where a temporary screen was set up. There they drew some blood, and then gave him a quick shot. Then the man slapped a band-aid on it and hurried him through the exit where he was met by another man. This guy was dressed casually and had a ring of flowers around his neck. "Howdy there! Come on and stand next to me, till the others arrive."

"Booster shot?" Adrian stared at him, producing a small container from his pocket, he urged a couple of the small white pills out into his hand.
"Yes you see, we don't want the virus spreading."
"And only I get one?" Adrian cocked an eyebrow at the man.
"No, just the V.I.P. customers."
"Why?"
"Well... I..." the man stammered, sending a quick glance to one of his assistants who simply shrugged. "Its up to you Mr. Melbourne."
"Thanks, doc." Adrian popped the two capsules into his mouth "but..." He held up the little orange container and gave it a little shake, causing the contents to rattle about "I've got my medicine."
Without waiting for a reply Adrian began to walk away, four eyes pretended to escort him, but there was little point. He had nearly cleared the exit when a man wearing a lay and a tropical shirt called out to him. "HEYHEY! Mr. Melbourne, over here buddy!" He sounded like a car salesman 'Just hold still while I screw you over.'
If it hadn't have been for the other man already standing with him, looking equally confused as Adrian himself was, he would have completely ignored the faux-friendly fellow. Instead he approached the pair. "This part of the mysterious V.I.P. program too?" Adrian asked, eying the man suspiciously.

Lucis, who was looking out onto the horizon while leaning heavly on the railing of the great cruise ship, turned around to look at his sister. "Yeah?"
"Everyone's being called to the main deck. We're docking in soon," Jude answered. "Come on."
"Right, right..." Lucis bent down and snatch up his black Death Note backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and picked up his guitar (which was in its case). He allowed himself one last deep glance at the sea, then followed his sister with the wind blowing at his hair.
"You know this place is HUGE. You could of explored it all!" Jude rambled on. "But instead, you just stayed outside on the deck. You missed out on alot of things!"
"Yeah yeah," Lucis mumbled. "I just like looking at the sea, is all."
"Uh huh." Jude pushed strands of her black hair out of her face and turned to Lucis. A sudden smile came to her face. "I guess we're free now, brother? It feels great to have all that weight off our shoulders, huh?"
A little surprised, Lucis grinned back. "Yup. Now let's just try to have the time of our lives here before the police find us."
And there they were, a brother and sister, that would not know what the hell they were getting themselves into.
And now there they were, by the main deck, still laughing. Jude, the most anxious one, was oblivious to the people in lab coats. Until one of them was tapping on her shoulder.
Jude glanced back. "What--!"
Before she could continue to curse, Lucis slapped a hand over her mouth. "Yes, sir?"
She was quiet as the man explained about a shot, and Jude flicked her blue eyes at Lucis, who just nodded.
Without a word, they got their shots and were then escorted (or forced) next to people who the lab coat dude claimed were "V.I.P." Jade blinked in confusion. Lucis just turned to them. "What the hell's going on?" he muttered.
OOC Notes
When he arrived to the main deck a guy in a lab coat approached him.
"Hi sir, if you would come with me here, we have an area for VIP passengers"
"Really, I'm VIP?" said Charlie in a exited tone.
"Yes sir, everyone that came to this cruise because they won the ticket are considered VIP"
"Soo as a VIP, what other privileges do i get?" asked Charlie, more to try and make the guy uncomfortable than to actually get an answer. Strangely it worked, the guy started feeling a little bit nervous as he recited a number of benefits. It sounded like he was reading all his answers from a piece of paper, kind of like a robot, so Charlie just lost interest and stopped listening.
"Sir? .... Sir!, are you listening?"
"Yeah Yeah, whatever just get me to the zone I'm tired of waiting" said Charlie already tired of the seemly nature of the guy.
"More importantly sir there has been a flu outbreak in the island and we are offering a vaccine so you don't get sick"
"Is that hey all this guys in lab coats are doing here?"
"Yes Yes, Exactly" the guys in the lab coat seemed nervous again, thing that felt strange to Charlie cause it was normal enough question.
"I don't normally get sick, let alone with a simple flu" Thought Charlie. "Yet do i really want to bet my vacations on that" He refuted.
"OK give me the shot" he said in a low unexcited voice.
Charlie Moved to a room where amongst other things he got the flu shot.
"Now if you would follow me this way"
"OK, lets go"
As they moved to the VIP area Charlie remembered something.
"Wait a second!"
"What now?!" said the guy in the lab coat in a tone Charlie didn't appreciate.
"Hey, what's with the attitude?"
In the Exact moment another guy in a lab coat approached, "Sorry Sorry sir its just fatigue, go lay down Harris" said the second guy. "I'm George what did you want to ask?"
"I got this bananas at the salad bar is it OK if i take some to the island?, because some countries don't like plants being smuggled into their country, you know." Charlie said with a smile.
"No its OK sir, they don't mind"
"OK cool" Said charlie as he approached a guy with a big ass smile, "Oh good what i needed, some kind of hack trying to sell me something"
"Hello Mr Rockford, come sit with the other we still are missing a couple of our dear VIP passenger before we can move on"
"SIGH, more waiting"

"Hey, why are they giving people shots?" Rue asked the man in front of her.
"Eh, oh. They give shots for disease goin around. Like the flu or somethen." The man told her in a foreign voice.
"Oh." she said then shook her head. No way in Hell was she going to get a shot for something she didn't know.
As she got up to the people, she glanced at them as thy pointed the needle at her.
"Ma'am, we have to give you this shot." the one on the right told her.
"I already had mine. Some of us got taken to the side and got ours early. See" she said then showed them her arm and a bandage on it. It looked legitimate but truth be told, she had shot up earlier. They exchanged glances then shrugged. "Alright, you can go."
Rue smiled then walked past them, smug smile on her face. "Suckers." she laughed to herself then headed over to the spot where the passengers where.

They started to talk as soon as she sat in the chair next to him. They talked till the line was almost gone. From what’s her name, to what she plans to do with her life. Tony being such a introvert let her do most the talking. Before she left though, she said. “If u wanna do more than talk next time, here’s my phone number."
Grabbing it and he made his way towards the exit. To Tony's luck there was some old lady fighting with a guy in a nerdy lab outfit. She was asking what’s the vaccine really about and was threatening to call the police. Introducing himself as a cop and trying to calm down the woman he went on to say.
“Hi ma’am I am a cop, what’s troubling you here?”
She replied with fear in her voice “That man is trying to give me a shot of something I don’t know.” (I added a period, if you can't tell.)
“Ok take it easy let me see what’s going on.”
By the time Tony began to ask what is that was going on, the lab guys were really nervous, almost trembling and responded, “this is just a vaccine for a flu that’s going around the island."
So Tony carefully explained to the woman and convinced her there was nothing bad about it and gave her his information in case she felt something was going wrong. When she left he went to have a talk with those guys. But they came to him first trying to explain to him what’s going on in more detail. He said “We think a guy from Europe came to the island and spread the flu, it’s a little different than the one we normally have here and spreads even faster. So we are giving the V.I.P's arriving to the island vaccine shots to prevent that from happening”. They also thanked him before offering the vaccine to him.
Tony thought himself, “these guys think that I am going to buy all the crap they telling me?”
Tony asked the man in the lab coat that he'd been talking to, "Hey mind if I have some of that Vaccine?"
He said kindly “No sir, I’m sorry but we need as many as we can for the people arriving but if u not going to take the shot please follow the attendant” the man replied and sent him off the boat down the ramp, with this cute girl, towards the rest of the V.I.P group. Though he was looking around checking for any discordance on his way in, later on busying himself with examining the map they provided.

Carnabe yawned as he listen to the fat man droll on about the island and it's many different activities. He was beginning to fall asleep as he followed the group down the dock towards a small tour bus. The bus could probably seat twenty people and a driver. It was white and had Horizon Cruises painted on the side. "Alright folks. We are going to board the bus and head to New Metro. There we will stop at the hotel, The Marionette, and you will be able to situate yourselves in your rooms. " The man continued with a short history lesson of the Island.
"Apocatropics was created when the small island that surrounded the mountain Mt. Steamtop was obliterated when it became active. There are many legends to why this happened, but only one has remained unchanged. Maybe if your a good group I'll let you in on it as we travel to the city. " The man droned on about the different cities and why they had been named so as he waited for them to get on the bus.
Carnabe was the first to oblige, mainly to muffle the sound of Josephs voice, and get on the tour bus. Seating himself towards the middle and waiting for the rest of them to get on.

"Wait a sec, this is a little weird..."
"Come on!"
Jude had to practically drag her brother into the bus, where they seated themselves in the back. Lucis was still grumbling to himself, while Jude dug into her backpack for her cellphone.
"It's all a bit dodgy..." he rambled on.
"Luke! Do me a favor. Shut. Up. We came here to have fun, right? And you're going off emo-ing!"
Lucis groaned. "I am NOT emo-ing! It's just that---It's-- I'm just a little paranoid, that's all."
"Then STOP being paranoid so we can have fun," Jude nearly yelled back. Geez! Why was her brother being such a bummer?
Lucis kept his eyes on the gaze outside, staring at Joseph who was still talking like there was no tomorrow. "It's just a little weird..." he mumbled.
Jude sighed, deciding to ignore him while she took photos of the bus with her cellphone.

OOC Notes
The Bus was moving along slowly along the windy road. The supposed V.I.P shiny tour bus turned out to be a shitty compact metal cage. The a/c was broke, the bus driver smelled like he'd been rolling in some shit for the past thirty days and the large pot holes made the bus jump sporadically. The overly energetic tour guide pointed out wildlife as they took the "scenic" pass around the island before hitting the main city. He'd told them they would just do half the trip since it was so hot today. But that was hours ago and they'd long since live the open country and were deep in the lush forest of the island. Even with the terrible experience inside the bus, it was still a pleasant view. He was sitting next to no one at the moment and the others were scattered through the isles. The Guide had named each of them specifically as he counted roll before the trip began.
Chore, Harlam. Lucis, Hollows. Jude, Hollows. Knowles, Tomy. McAlister, Lylaba. Melbourne, Adrian. Rockford, Charlie. And of course he himself was among the names listed.
He'd heard rumors from people that one of the people on the ship had gone crazy. Harlam matched the description of the guy, which meant he'd spent most of the cruise in the lock up. Most the the people were a mystery to him, as he hadn't head anything about them. The siblings seemed to bicker a lot in the short time he'd spent with them. He couldn't see Tomy or Charlie and didn't have much to go on with them. Adrian he could kind of see, and he look liked he'd been to prison before as well. But looks can definitely be deceiving as he'd found out many times before. Rue he knew from the time he stumbled into the bar she stripped at. He'd stayed the whole night but never spoke with her. Just drank and watched her and the other girls perform throughout the night.
The driver was speeding and complaining about how long this route was. The guide said they were close to a village known as Yorisdal. He explained that the town still clung to some of it's older traditions. They had modernized to some extent but refused all the luxuries of electricity. He was mid sentence when an extra large pot hole made the bus jump. The driver swore as it came down hard, swerving off the narrow path and brushing against a tree before slamming into another head on. The driver was killed instantly as he flung from his unbuckled seat into the tree head first. Joseph, the tour guide, screamed as they hit the first tree but went silent as they crashed. The tree itself buckled as the bus slammed into cracking and falling over on top of the bus with a crunch. Overall the bus's frame withstood the assault, but the front it was wrecked and there was a large tree branch poking through the top of the bus near the back. It had gone all the way through to the ground below the bus.
Carnabe groaned as he picked himself up off the floor. He'd unbuckled himself a few minutes earlier to stand and stretch. "Fuck, can't believe I forgot to fucking buckle up." Slowly he stood up and looked around the bus, wincing as he breathed in and the fresh forming bruises on his body screamed at him for moving. Short of breathe he sputtered out, "Anyone. Alive?"
OOC Notes
It had worked, it also helped during the ensuing crash. Which Adrian didn't even notice was happening until he woke up to a tree branch next to his head. "Anyone alive?"
The voice caused Adrian to look up, for the first time noticing the thin line of blood which ran down his forehead. Swiping at it with two fingers, he could feel the texture of the small gnarled gash, but because he was so looped out on painkillers, there was no pain. He unbuckled and stood, his legs were a little shaky, but that was pretty much the norm, Adrian had years of experience dealing with the sensation. Hell he could play a game of b-ball when he was half asleep and still beat most of his friends.
"Hey!" He called out, though his voice was groggy and his vocal chords made him sound more like a toad than himself. Clearing his throat he took a look around. He really couldn't tell, everyone looked like they were moving, but that didn't mean they weren't inches away from death. "Yeah, uh" He patted himself down, as if that would reveal if he were truly injured "I'm alive."
OOC Notes
It felt like a year until they finally recovered. They were both shaken up, but after a complete check, they were alive. Jude's arms were bleeding from where the low-quality bus seat scratched at them and Lucis lost a tooth. But still, they were alive.
"You okay...?" Jude began.
Lucis bent over and spit out blood, and a couple more teeth. He groaned, and wiped his mouth with his jacket sleeve. He rubbed his knee, but it only made the pain worse. "Y...Yeah, I guess...You?"
"I'm alright," she answered, breathing hard.
Lucis, still dazed, nodded, and pulled himself to his feet to check on the bus. His jaw dropped. "Holy shit..."
"What?" Jude went up to join him. "Dear God..."
The first thing that came to her mind was: Thank heavens we didn't sit in the front.
For Lucis: Good thing we wore seatbelts.
The place was in ruins. They could see blood splattered on the seats and a huge branch was lodged in.
They were lucky to be alive, and knew it.
But their hearts were empty. They couldn't see the driver...
"We're alive!" Lucis called to whoever asked. He reached over and grabbed his sister's hand. "Come on, we gotta get outta here. The crash probably cracked open the gas tank. It might explode."
"Right..." Jude hopped up and stood on her seat. "EVERYONE!" she yelled. "Get out of the bus as soon as possible!"
"Thanks for that, warning lady." Despite the situation, he grinned. He adjusted his backpack and grabbed his guitar. "Now let's get the hell out of here."
They were one of the first ones out. It was great to breathe in the fresh air, but they were still horribly shaken. Now out in the open, they took in the situation and waited for the others to join them.
Jude was the first to find the driver, dead and bloodied.
OOC Notes
"Anyone. Alive?" he heard on what seem a mile away. "Here!" he yelled with what little force he had.
"Shit this is a nightmare", he muttered. This has been a really awfull day for charlie. he had to wait a lot to get out of the ship, than he had to listen to the incredibly generic turist guide and now the bus crashed.
"The crash probably cracked open the gas tank, it might explode." he heard a guy say.
"Calm Down that only happens in the movies, we should help the others get out though"
Charlie got out of the bus and put his bag on the floor while he returned to the bus to continue helping other that might need him.
OOC Notes
"We need to find out who's all alive. And come up with our plan. " His head was groggy and he wasn't thinking clear enough to come up with something right now.

Re: [OOC] The Infection
The undead are more active at night, no one knows why.
If playing an undead, as npc or pc, be realistic. Remember these vary from rotted corpses to new infected.
Each should have their own distinct advantages such as:
A freshly turned infected would still be very mobile and agile. Has full extent of whatever limbs are still attached or weapon in hand. A near fully rotted zombie wouldn't run after you as it's bones couldn't handle the shock. It would limp, and drag itself towards you. Either standing or on the ground. Also the more rotted the zombie the less damage they can take to a limb or area of the body.
Older zombies would be blind and hunt by the unnatural phenomena that draws them to you, not as precise as still being able to use their eyes.
All zombies are attracted to sound.

EDIT: Also, instead of me posting next I think that Kiara should post next. It makes more sense that she'd go. She has to finish leaving the house and arrive outside and near the car about the same time we'd pull up and offer her a ride, basically. From there I can easily move us forward to a point where we aren't all stuffed in a car with limited things to do.

Quantumlegacy, will these details be canon if you accept them? Or should I focus more on my own character?
I encourage you to be creative. So long as it's not too far out from what I already had in place it'll be fine. If I do end up liking it a lot I could indeed make it canon. In the beginning I started it with the general knowledge of zombies and the starter information doctor/scientist/well informed people would know in the thread The Infection. From there I plan to expand and maybe if the story is going well expose more of a in-depth backstory behind the real reason the infection.
Side2 wrote:Also, are we going to visit every city on the map? I'm hoping for some sort of epic finale
I do hope that we end up visiting most to all of the cities and landmarks on the island in some sort of epic chase, escape, hunt for something or another. I intend for this to go on for sometime I hope.
