The year is 2023.

It has been five years since the Zero Requiem. Since everything changed. Since one man, a dark prince, a demon come in mortal disguise, changed the world. Since Empress Nunnally took power of the Holy Britannian Empire.

When Lelouch died, he thought that he had won. That his change had been permanent, successful. He was so very, very wrong.

The Britannian Empire has become corrupt. Power-thirsty generals, manipulative Knightmare pilots, and greedy politicians have subverted the rule from Nunnally to themselves - and all have been controlled by a mysterious force, a man behind the scenes who wants to control the entire world. But who it is, no-one knows.

These corrupt men of power have decided - or, perhaps, been instructed by this mysterious man - that they will lead a new crusade, the likes of which mankind has never seen before. They have convinced, through a network of lies running through the entire bureaucracy, Nunnally to declare that Britannia is to take over the entire world. Britannia's military forces are mobilising, their vast legions of men and equipment readying for war once more.

Their first target is a symbol, the site of their greatest defeat, a way of proving to the world that they shall not be held back by shadows of past disasters, specters of the catastrophic Black Rebellion.

Japan.

Of course, the Britannians were not alone in their problems.

The United Federation of Nations were having their own problems. In the wake of the Zero Requiem, they were left scattered and confused; previously, they had been trying desperately to broker a peace with Emperor Lelouch before he invaded, and after their administration was suddenly freed by Nunnally immediately after the Requiem, the difficulty Kaguya had with re-organising the various member countries allowed the elite to grab power, land and titles for themselves, setting up their own sovereign nations seperate from the UFN.

In the wake of this, Chairwoman Kaguya decided that the only functional solution to keep her organisation as a coherent force was to re-absorb these new nations. After two years of deliberation wth her advisors, she decided to declare an all-out war on the entirety of what had been the UFN. Arming her forces with F.L.E.I.A. bombs and vast numbers of Knightmares, she declared that any resistance to her invasions would be met with annihilation. Disgusted by the ruthlessness of her actions, the Black Knights broke off from her forces, declaring themselves an independent organisation once more. Thusly, the UFN built their own armies, using the leftover Chinese equipment for their primary forces.

With the Britannian Empire looming over them like the shadow of a mighty dragon, they are deploying their forces to Japan, ready for combat. Whether they win or lose, Japan shall find itself covered in the blood of the UFN's enemies by the end of this conflict.

"The Black Knights have returned."

These are the words that the entire world fear to be declared.

The Black Knights, having broken off from the UFN, are now a fully independent faction. Their leader, Zero, disappeared to Britannia shortly after the seperation from the UFN, and did not return for several years. What occured in Britannia, only a very few people know for sure.

During Zero's absence, Kyoshiro Tohdoh took over the leadership of the Black Knights. Assisted by Kallen Kozuki, they set up their headquarters aboard the Ikaruga II - a gift from the UFN, which they had taken with them upon seperation - and bided their time, acting as international police, bringing down brutal dictatorships in the deepest parts of Africa and Eastern Europe with unimaginable ruthlessness. Some were displeased and accused the Black Knights of becoming power-hungry sell-outs under their temporary leader, but Tohdoh felt that he was doing the right thing, and fought on in Zero's name.

However, even as the Black Knights battled around the world in the name of justice, the hearts of the leadership remained in Japan, and after another year, they decided that they needed a permanent base. So they formed a treaty with the UFN; they were allowed to set up shop in Okinawa, and were given full authority to deploy in Japan, on the condition that they did not attempt to invade the UFN. Chairwoman Kaguya's lieutenants were displeased with this agreement, but Kaguya allowed it, as a favour to Tohdoh, who she had had many dealings with during the Black Rebellion.

And in 2022, the ever-enigmatic Zero returned, taking leadership back from Tohdoh in a ceremony, to the cheers of the Black Knights around, as he declared how proud of Tohdoh he was and that the Black Knights were heroes, each and every one of them. No-one ever suspected that their Zero was not the same one who had acted during the Requiem...

Of course, that is not to say that C.C. had remained completely silent through all this. Quite the opposite, in fact; while the political machinations of the Britannian Empire and the debacle of the UFN and Black Knights was occuring, she too was preparing for war.

She has been alive for far longer than any other creature in existence, and knew what to expect. She knew what was happening while the cogs of the world turned, and she knew what was to come. She knew that it was only a matter of time before the world's forces went marching back to a brutal and possibly endless war. Still carrying Lelouch's original vision of a free world, she decided - as he had - to start with Japan.

So she created the Crimson Rose organisation, She acquired Knightmare Frames from some old friends she had made over her long life, and recruited from the population of Japan.

Since then, she has led a guerilla war against the UFN occupation of Japan. However, she knows that the world is about to explode, and she quietly prepares for the day when she must fight against Britannia once more...

Four factions will clash in Japan. Four organisations, each with immense power, each convinced it is in the right.

From the land's rulers in the United Federation Of Nations come the forces of their new armies, wielding immense numbers of Knightmare Frames and an army of hundreds of thousands of men, with millions more waiting in China for rapid deployment if things get too chaotic in Japan.

From the vast Britannian Empire come their sophisticated Knightmares and devastating armies, armed with the most advanced technology in the world. Their forces come with a near-fanatical devotion to their Empress, ready to fight and die for the glory if their Empire.

C.C. has deployed her limited forces too, relying on the will of the population and ties through every layer of society for victory. She fights in the memory of Lelouch, the only human being who has ever truly cared about her, and knows that he smiles down at her from heaven.

The enigmatic Zero has sent in his best men into the fray, led by the man himself. His tactical genius has given his men great faith in their ability to win, and Zero will not hesitate to burn the entire world to achieve victory over the other factions.

A Dark Crusade has begun, and it can only end with the total victory of one faction. But the question is... who will achieve their objective?

And who will die trying?

No l337 speak. EVER.

BE NICE TO EVERYONE. I don't care who you are, or how entitled you think you are, but play nice. If you're being a pain in the ass, expect to get kicked out of the RP.

3:
For obvious reasons, this being a post-R2 RP, there are going to be MASSIVE spoilers for the end of Code Geass. Unless you've finished the series, or do not intend to watch it in the near future, or know how it ends already, I would recommend watching the end of R2 and then starting here.

4:
No overpowered characters. If your character is unbalanced, I will order you to fix it. Failing to comply will result in me kicking you out of the RP. Don't worry, I've inadvertently made overpowered characters too. If you act civilly and fix what I point out, I'll be more than happy to have you.

5:
Keeping that in mind, no crying 'Mary Sue!' over anyone's characters. The GMs will be the judges of that. If you believe someone's characters are overpowered, PM me and I'll take a look at it, then make the call.

Please try to differentiate your characters and make them unique. Look over everyone's profiles before making your own.

Don't use the same pictures as someone else does, regardless of whether it's for the person or for the Knightmare. I hate it when that happens.

No auto-hitting. You can fire as many shots as you like, but please don't put in your post that it connected. Give them a chance to dodge.

In the same vein, you can't dodge everything that's sent your way.
