"Master?" The young man asked as he walked with an elderly man through the thickets. " Is it really that simple? I mean there must be more."
"To put life so simple we can look out and expand on this world. Hunter and Prey is the simplest, taking from another to supplement another."
"What about farming, trade of goods, Helping another person, those don't act of hunter and prey."
"Its all about gains and losses. Tell me, when you go to the market do you go for the goods with the highest price, always."
"Well usually no. I try to find the cheapest, or something cheaper than usual, so I have more money to feed my family."
"Yes, so therefore you are hunting. You are looking to gain, in more ways than one. One by obtaining goods that you need to survive, as well as keep some of your trade for yourself to use for later gain. You are hunting, therefore you are looking for your prey. The cheap item that you look for. However do you always buy cheap."
"Well No, sometimes I want the best Item and they can cost more than usual. Like this spear, I just bought it from the blacksmith, its wood is strong and sturdy, and the metal is some of the best in the island. "
"Yes, Such as this." The two bent down in the brush and looked beyond to the open field beyond." Look to the two elk, what do you see?"
"One is a big tall and has 6 points on its head, and then there is a small one with just 4 points..."
"Which will you take."
"The big one, its meat and head would be a better trade."
"Yes.... But don't you think the chase will be longer if you strike does not kill instantly. You will have to travel a great mile to catch up, and get your spear back. Your effort is your payment, how much will you pay." Adolee grinned, and looked at the elder.
"I'll guess I'll find out." Adolee stood up and pulled his arm back. He fired his arm and let the spear fly. A Wail came from the massive elk as it dropped to the grass, the rest of the herd scampered away. Adolee smirked and nodded as he walked to his prey

"And then, the sky turned dark, and the sun was blotted out of the heavens."

Feren sat in the darkness. She searched the caves depths her red eyes shown through as she waited. Somewhere in the darkness she saw a sudden movement as the motion censored lights flared. Creatures surrounded her and then there was simultaneous cracks and crashes as he lights all exploded and the last glimpse made Feren’s heart lurch. The creatures all were lunging at her. She gave a deep breath then pulled out her swords. She slashed at the first one she saw then started to swipe the air around her. Shrieks of pain now filled the air. The creatures then started to bite and slash. Cuts covered Feren and she scrambled at her belt for the flashlight. Suddenly she felt it and she fumbled for the switch. Then it fell. Feren froze despite the pains and creatures around her. She then swung her sword with one hand while searching the flashlight with the other. Suddenly she felt it. The creatures had gotten her waist and now were dragging her to their nest, but also she felt the flashlight. She turned it over as they jerked her left to right and she found the switch.
“ Gotcha.” As they carried her to the nest she waited as they lifted her. Then she hit the ground hard as small, scaled creatures began to eat away at her. She then threw the switch. The creatures all screamed at the light illuminated the cave. She saw the babies that had been chewing at her and she stared down at them as they burned under her light.

Feren carried some of the baby creatures home with her as she walked home bumping into someone.
" Sorry." She said She couldn't see who it was but tried to step around them.

Feren finally made it home and slammed the door behind her. She threw her keys on the couch and placed the creature on her lab table turning the light on minimum so she could see but the creature, if it was still alive, would not run and hide or attack her. it was small, maybe in its teenager stage and it was twitching. She turned the light up more and it started to sizzle.
" Light hurts them . . . " she said and started doing more tests. this was very interesting indeed.
