Introduction
It is the 41st millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the Gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die. Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battle fleets cross the daemon infested miasma of the warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor’s will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defense forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants and worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
Welcome to Dark Heresy, a roleplaying game full of danger, mystery, and brutal violence, set in the decaying far future of Warhammer 40,000. You are about to embark on perilous adventures into the dark heart of the 41st millennium. You stand on the front line of a great and secret war. As an Acolyte of the powerful Inquisition, you will root out threats to the Imperium of man. You will engage in deadly combat against heretics, aliens, and witches. You will face demonic possession, and battle for your very survival amidst a web of conspiracy and betrayal. But perhaps the biggest threat you will face is your fellow man, for the human soul are such fertile grounds for corruption. It is your duty to shepherd mankind from the manifold paths of damnation, with smoking boltgun is necessary.
Do not shrink from your noble calling, hard as it might be. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and these are the darkest times humanity has ever known. The Imperium is beset by enemies, both from within and without. It is up to you to stand tall and make a difference.
In Dark Heresy, you take the role of an Acolyte, a trainee investigator in the service of a powerful Inquisitor. You, out of countless billions, have been chosen to play a part in a war so great and terrible that ordinary men must never learn its secrets. Your master will task you with all manner of missions, in which you will encounter witches, aliens, and even deamons. You will be tempted with power and exposed to corruption. You, your allies or even your master may fall under the thrall of the Dark Gods. Should this happen, it will be your duty to purge with fire and righteousness, for the Ruinous Ones, the Chaos Powers, are insidious in their evil and would destroy you and all of mankind if they could.
You and your fellow Acolytes must struggle to hold back many threats that face humanity. You must do this knowing that your name will never be recorded in the annals of history. Power, fame, and grandeur shall never be yours- but you do not fight for these things. You fight because you must. You fight because failure will mean the destruction of the Imperium… and of all mankind.
It’s not going to be easy. In the earliest stages, you are little better then anyone else of the 41st millennium. You are merely one of the many scores of Acolytes recruited into the Inquisition. You’ll need to use your wits, luck, and the skills of your companions to the best of your abilities if you are to survive. The longer you last and the stronger you become, the greater the foes you will be asked to face. The war of the soul of mankind is unending, and even should you live long enough to become an Inquisitor in full, you will never know peace until the day you die.
When you die, you will not be missed, but then mere glory never made heroes. Your struggle, your triumph, and your failures- these are the things that matter. They matter because, Emperor willing, you will have made a difference, however small. In the 41st millennium, that is the greatest legacy a man may dare hope for.

OOC Notes
The Emperor's Valiance thundered through the warp as fast as its engines would carry it. The Gellar field was an almost visable bubble of reality, reflecting the lurid colours of warpspace back into the immaterium. The ship is knife sharp, its prow tapering to a narrow blade, the rear section extending allowing space for the two huge engines, spitting blue flames like the dragons of old. The Bridge extended from the middle of the ship, tapering up like a catheadral spire. Inside the ships is spartanly furnished, its corridors dark and lifeless, like the interior of a monastry. On every wall hangs a symbol of the Emperors grace. Be it an aquilla or the stylised I of the Inquisition. Above every bulkhead is a devotion to the Emperor.
Deep in the bowels of the ship are the cells. These make the decks above seem like an opulant pleasure liner in comparison. Each cell is two meters square, containing nothing save the manacles on the wall. Instead of bars, the doors are blocked by a powerful shock field, capable of rendering a bull grox unconcias.
The prisoners are emicated things. Kept without food or basic ammenities they are close to death. They wear grey bodyglove and manacles, and about their necks, like primitive tourques, are explosive collars which are capable at the touch of a button of reducing their heads to atoms. The Inquisition torture these prisoners mercilessly night and day. Once they have broken, they are taken to the end of the passage of cells and reduced to nothing by fire and bolt round.
You awake in your cells, manacled hand and foot with and explosive collar about your neck. The psykers among the prisoners have had limiters implanted inside them, reducing there minds to nothing. The lights are dimming and the humming of the void-shields in front of the doors is dying away. The power must be failing. You are free. Now only to escape the explosive collar and manacles. And an Ordo Hereticus Prisonship

Re: [OOC] Dark Heresy Roleplay
Alright, let me evaluate the first RP session that Liang had with you guys...Well, First of all:
He remembers barely anything of where he is, what he is doing or when he came there, resulting in offending a religious character and the psyker of the group.
Not a bad start for Liang, knowing his a former ganger and a current hive assassin, he could have done worse...Well, he got high and couldn't read the map, but hey...Don't blame the stoner for what the drugs did to him.
Not only did his 'highness' cause him to attract attention from the wrong guards, and loosing his precious dagger, he also made them shoot the psyker of the team, and then he forced them both into a ruined chapel.
Well, you have to admit that despite his idiocracy, Liang does know how to at least hide from the enemy!
Followed by that, Liang managed to sneak up behind the two heretics that were after them. Although he would have wanted his dagger to have been in his arm, done was done, and he improvised and used a stone instead. The lasgun did its work, while Liang, once again, attracted too much attention at the wrong time. He did kill the two guards and then stole one of the guard's autoguns, before he and the psyker ran off.
Once again...Whenever in doubt, kick someone hard and then break their neck. It usually works...Especially if your on Piety!
Oh, and Xavier, would it bee too much to ask if Liang, on the next RP session, came across a cropse with a hunter rifle with a silencer?...I'll gladly drop the autogun in exchange! ... Nah, even if you say no, it'll be alright, I'll improvise and then some a lho-stick...They get Liang thinking!

Re: [OOC] Dark Heresy Roleplay
this is the campaign you will be playing out.
Intro
The year is 922.M41. You are acolytes in the charge of Inquisitor Ishmael Kaltos. On Emperor's Day 920, while the young juvies unwrapped trinkets and toys, the warp storm “Threnos Zone” opened and spewed forth a deluge of cultists and chaos forces. The imperial forces in the Calixis sector had grown slack and complacent in their duties and the worlds around the warp storm were quickly overwhelmed. The massive chaos battlefleet cut a swathe through the Drusus marches, conquering much of the inhabited worlds including the shrine world “Veneris”.
Inquisitor Kaltos charged you with the task of investigating a cult of chaos worshippers on Veneris when the chaos invasion hit. As the battlebarges and capitol ships clustered like carrion birds above the planet, your team of acolytes went to ground in the depths of the shrine world's underhive. Cut off from inquisiorial contact by the invasion, your team was key in establishing the resistance on Veneris.
Two years have past, and the Chaos forces are locked in a battle with a hastily established Imperial crusade led by the legendary Warmaster Ibram Gaunt. The crusade, under Gaunt's superb leadership has pushed back the chaos advance. You hear word that the occupying forces on Veneris are digging deep with in the bowels of the shrine world. Interrogation of captured officials informs you that the occupying forces believe that there is an artefact that could turn the tide against the imperials.
Your task is to prevent the acquisition of the artefact and disrupt the chaos forces in preparation for the coming invasion.

Re: [OOC] Dark Heresy Roleplay
Well. Here is the background to the campaign we are going to play thru. If you have a problem with any details, Pm me and i'll consider ammending this.
You are accolytes in service to Inquisitor Umbris Ghortok of the Ordo Xenos. Your Master has been discovered having in his posesstion tainted texts and items and was taken into custoday and later executed. You were part of one of your Masters missions to recover tainted archeotech from a hive world in the Calix sector. As the inquisition dismantled Ghortok's operations, your expediion was discovered and the Ordo Hereticus were sent to arrest you.
The Ordo were entitled to execute you on the spot but the Inquisitor in charge of your arrest decided you could prove usefull to him in tracking down the whereabouts of your former master. You were manacled and had high-explosive collars placed around your neck. You were taken onto a prison ship, "The Emperors Valiance" As the ship entered the warp, a small craft was revealed to be inside the Gellar Field. Now a mysterious hunter is slowly massacering the crew, and taking the ships systems apart.
When the power fails, your cells unlock and your story begins
