Introduction
-as if dead bodies are returning to life- -recently deceased. If bitten, you will become one of them- -destroying the heart or brain- -stay in doors. Block all windows- -no longer your friends and neighbours- -safe points established in local shopping malls- -May God have Mercy on us all.
Two years have passed since the outbreak of the unknown virus, and through the chaos and devestation, order and society has been restored - to some extent. Mr Scafman - the richest man still living - has invested billions of dollars into military protection for the city and 'bringing back an ordered and democratic government'. Instead, he was overwhelmed by his power and became a dictator, living in a high-rose tower with those who follow him loyaly, looking over the slums where the not-quite-as-lucky survivors live. Money rules the streets, sex sells, and everything is controlled by Mr Scafman and his army. The slums are next to a large shopping mall, where you can buy food and clothes - if you have the money. Supplies are brought in by a small group nicknamed The Shoppers - the small section of Scafman's army who earn their keep by going out to kill as many of the undead as possible and bringing back everything Scafman requires. Although life is far from happy and normal, the remaining humans appreciate the fact that they have protection and follow Scafman's every order. There is, however, a small group who plan to overrun Scafman and try to creat a real democracy. Any followers who are found out and punished and executed in the most horrible ways. Those suspected, are watched very carefully. There is already a war between living and dead - what will happen if there is a war among the living? What will you do to survive? Where do your loyalties lie? What will happen if the society's protection fails?
--------------------------
This is a roleplay based on Dawn of the Dead, but will not follow the same story. It focuses on the survivors and the battle among them; between Scafman and his army, the rebel group, and the poor humans who get caught in the middle. So which side will you choose? Will you support Scafman in the hopes he will protect you; will you keep your head down and play it safe; or will you fight for a new democracy and a better life for those on the streets?
The Zombies:
Slow-moving though they can be quite fast when they run. As it is harder for them to find food, their desperation seems to propel them faster and they are becoming harder to outrun. They do not learn quickly. Can be killed by destroying the heart or brain. Scared of lakes, oceans, etc. If you are bitten, you will become one, unless killed before you have turned. If you're death was not caused by a zombie, you will become one.
The Slums:
Thousands of survivors. If you have money, you can live quite comfortably. If you have nothing, you really do have nothing. The streets are full of prostitutes, drugs, alcohol and underground clubs, all in the hopes of earning more money. However, a portion of everything earned must be payed to Scafman. If you are caught earning money without paying (this doesn't include gambling, bets, etc), you are severly punished. Weapons are not permitted in the slums without permission. Everything is ultimately owned by Scafman.
The Shopper:
A small group of men and women who have nothing left to lose.It is a dangerous job and only the bravest (or dumbest) volunteer to do it. They are known for smuggling in luxeries such as alcohol and drugs, either to keep to themselves, sell on the streets or give to Scafman as gifts. However, some people are forced to do the job as a form of punishment. Though these people don't always die, the scars it leaves on them (and even those who volunteer) are sometimes worse than death.
Character Profile:
Name:
Appearance: picture or desrciption, no anime
Personality:
Brief Bio:
Weapons (if any, and how/why you got permission):
Who are you with? Scafman, rebels, or neutral?: (if rebels, are you suspected yet?)
Job/responsibility/your role in society/how do you earn your keep?:
I will be playing the role of the host of the only radio station. His job is to keep the human morale high and to let the population know what what is happening with Scafman, the Shoppers, the zombies, and occasionally the rebel group. Nobody knows who he is but he seems to know everything about everyone.
Basically, Angel keeps the story rolling.

Angel played by wiltingrose
The host of the only radio show. Angel, because he watches over the entire population

These poor, unfortunate souls were once a part of this great world, but have been abandoned. Why don't you consider viewing their profiles and making a decision on whether or not you can roleplay them accurately?
