Introduction
November 3rd, 2013. Winter in Los Angeles... or what is left of it. The first day of the war unfolded as expected. Bombs dropped in the major cities of both coasts. Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland.... New York, Washington D.C., Miami, Boston. Americans fled to the center of the country, far from the metropolis. Jammed freeways, and foot invasions from the mountains of the North and coasts of the South. By evening, more troops had entered through the devastation on the coasts. The United States had fallen.
Then the 2nd bombs fell.
These ones were randomly aimed, striking locations near borders, mountain junctions, and any commercialized areas. The smoke that lingered killed over 60% of those exposed to it instantly. The others grew violently ill, suffered paralyzation in segmented parts of their body, fevers over 105 degrees, cold sweats, paranoia, and other disconnected symptoms. Within hours, those with symptoms began falling into coma-like states. Many stopped breathing. Others maintained the faintest trace of a heartbeat. By then there was nothing you could do for them.
By nightfall, there was chaos. Scattered militias from all sides of the conflict fight to seize control of the city... or the country, rather. Civilians do what they can to protect themselves and survive, but the presence of a new enemy changes the game. The dead are beginning to walk. They are beginning to yell, tear, run, and use everything they have to kill everyone they can.
What will you do?
Create a character. Visit the storyboard. Introduce yourself. Discuss your ideas.
Rules
1. The zombies have their own set of rules. We'll add more guidelines to what the zombies can do as the story develops but these are the characteristis that we know they have:
-- They can run, climb, jump, grab, push, pull, hear, smell, see in the dark, scream, and kill.
-- They are attracted to loud sounds or any sound in general.
-- They don't sleep. They are in an induced-like status usually so they don't burn much fuel.
-- They infect through the swap of bodily fluids through cuts, bites, etc.
-- They can be killed by severing the head, destroying the brain, or crippling the body beyond use.
2. Your profession and skills will kind of set your general abilities and knowledges. Don't expect your character to be able to hack into something without prior electronics or computer backgrounds. Don't expect to be a black belted martial artist without the training, or an pro sniper. The story is about realism and finding out what each of our characters are capable of under pressure.
3. This game is not about killing zombies. It is about survival. That means the focus of the story is surviving each other, trying to keep yourelf safe, find food and shelter, things to defend yourself. So keep your character motivations at heart. What drives you to keep going? What are you willing to sacrifice?
4. Much of what is happening is still unknown. Communication has been down since the first day, limiting use of cell phones, computers, and televisions. Then simple fact is that all you know is hearsay from what others have seen or from personal experience. This is part of the game. Find answers. Figure out the situation you are in. Share your info with others and it will be how we all stay informed.
5. Keep an inventory on your character so that we don't forget any valuables. It'll be important for us all to remember what equipment and tools the group has at it's disposal.
6. Communicate using the storyboard. The OOC thread is for all of us to ask questions, share our ideas for the story and ultimately brainstorm how the story will progress. Let your ideas be heard.
7. Stay active. We all have shit going on in our lives. We take vacations, we do other things then sit around and write. Please go enjoy yourself, but give us a heads up if you'll be gone for an extended period of time.
8. Write like a novel. We will be writing in third person narrative. This means no --> I, We, Me or My, Us, or You. Also, write in past tense. So that it is "John waved back," instead of "John waves back." The posts themselves should be at least a few paragraphs. Nothing gets accomplished in a few sentences. Feel free to include others' dialogue in your scene but send bits featuring other characters to them for approval beforehand.
9. Everybody dies. Don't write yourself into inescapable situations or make foolishly heroic attempts at things if you aren't prepared to meet your fate. Some of us will be bit... others shot. Death happens.
10. Have fun. Let's create this story together. Collaborate. Create. And Survive!

Re: [OOC] Dead Vallye
I'd like to ask one thing... well, two things...
1: Who is America fighting with and against? The same ol' Axis-Allies? Where does Russia stand in this?
2: What about posting order? I have an RP I'm currently in that went from 1 page in length to 27 in a week. I've only posted twice...
