After a war against the Union of Kalera, Kirjinan was left in ruin. The Union replaced the government with one that promised welfare and freedom but it limited freedom and became corrupt. It restricted the old traditions of the land and wanted Kirjinan to assimilate to the culture of Kalera. The people of Kirjinan went out to protest peacefully but the government responded with violence. Now a rebel group has begun a guerrilla war against the government. Both men and women fight as rebels and have a chance to win against the Kalerian occupants due to the advantage in knowing the desert and the mountains. They fight with their magic and their rifles to end corruption.

Kirjinan: Kirjinan is a dry desert country with many mountains and little vegetation (similar to Afghanistan or Tajikistan). The people live in stone huts and small houses. Most of them are in small villages and towns. The capital is Idan. The land is fairly large and has about 25 million inhabitants.

Setting: The people and rebels of Kirjinan use magic to make life easier and also use it in battle. People often use conventional magic which only needs hands and an oral spell. The spells are often short enough to say in a fraction of a second while stronger and more complicated spells are longer and need a couple of seconds to over a minute. There is also circle magic which requires a spell circle to summons machines and weapons. During war, augmented magic is often used where the people augment weapons and clothing with magic. The war machinery of Kirjinan is often small and needs magic to work while the war machinery of Kalera is often fueled by resources and are large. Due to Kirjinan technology, machinery can often be used to make prosthesis for the crippled and enhanced the abilities of a normal person.
