Storyline

5 years ago, Kira left the world at a standstill. After the defeat of L, the world's greatest detective, it looked as if the case of Kira would never be solved. However, due to the work and due diligence of Near and his team of crack detectives, Kira was revealed to be Light Yagami, one of L's first suspicions. Hunted down right to the end, Light tried to escape his punishment, however he was eventually killed. He was however, never revealed as Kira, and therefore Kira's fans still think of him as alive, only dormant. The same happened with L, except Near has taken on the tumultuous task of living up to L's name.

The world however, has not moved on. The work of Kira still leaves a scar on the earth, and although he is not a well discussed subject anymore, he still reminds at the back of the minds of people. During the last 3 years, a young girl named Akira, has followed in the footsteps of the former Kira, She now goes to college as a student, she is a singer and actress, and she is determined to be the new Goddess of the new world.

However, Akira's true identity remains a secret of the public. Raised herself in her dead parent's House. Akira's inner self manifested itself, and she started to use the letter "K" for Kira again, making fans and protesters of Kira rise again. On the outside, Akira is a lovely, warm and intelligent young girl, however inside, she is a monster. Holder of a Death Note, she eliminates her classmates in a fashion not unlike Kira's. However, she does not just do this for "Justice", she does this for her own gain. But her mask of innocence truly hides this other self of her, and she retains a cult-like following.

There is much worry inside the small and exclusive club who know the truth about L. Whilst on a walk, Near, the person now regarded as L and the greatest detective in the world, has gone missing. His whereabouts are completely unknown. It is as if he has disappeared off the face of the earth. However, one person, also a member of Wammy House, "S" know where he lives. Kidnapped by her, Near spends his days locked in a dark basement in the bottom of an abandoned house. He has no way of escaping, and must rely on the competence of his allies to rescue him. S, a true follower of BB, believes Near to be the person who defeated the person who killed BB. S believes that BB was killed by Kira, and believes that by kidnapping Near, she will be able to get revenge. Of course, the truth is as blind to her as color is, S' bright white eyes reflecting the pain she went through to get closer to BB, only ending up in failure and blindness.

After Near's disappearance, the search for L's successor continues, but with little results. Still, many candidates are yet to be tested, and maybe soon someone will step up as the new L.

*The choice is simple. Follow the new Kira for a new life.
*Or follow the detectives for your current life.
*Or perhaps, follow no one and create your own destiny.

Whichever you choose, the world is damned.
