Aurelia and Alexander were two of the Heaven's most prized guardian angels. They had been protecting the lives of innocent humans for centuries and became well-known throughout Heaven and Hell. No one would have suspected that soon, they wouldn't exist much longer. Why you ask? As guardian angels, it is against the rules to ever fall in love with a human. The penalty is death by falling. They get their wings ripped off and are thrown out of the heavens. Most angels die from this event, except for one in particular.

His name is Kael, and he was the guardian angel of Avery Jameson. They fell in love and the angels found out about it, naturally they gave Kael the same judgement all rule-breakers received. He would have died like all the others, but something unexpected happened. Avery's friend Imogen, a psychic individual, made a pact with a demon to save her friend's lover from death. In exchange for becoming his eternal servant, he would save Kael from dying by catching him before he completely plummeted to earth. This broke another rule, demons aren't allowed to save angels, only kill them. With both the angels and the demons outraged, the four have to go into hiding if they ever hope to live another day. Not only are their lives in danger, but also the lives of the humans.

Avery was not an only-child, she also has a twin brother named Bastian. They share an invisible bond, one that allows them to experience the others physical and emotional pain. Bastian, much like Imogen, made a deal with a demon. This one wasn't in return for saving a life, but ending one. He wants Kael killed in hopes that Avery can get over him and come home before she gets killed herself. The demon's name is Iris and she lends Bastian some of her own power so that he can take out Kael for himself.

Everyone wants different things, and soon their paths will cross and their lives may be forever changed.
