Imagine yourself in an alternate timeline. One so different than today's history, one seemingly far fetched. History always proclaimed the firearm as death dealer to the ancient arts like swords, halberds and axes. They became obsolete with the advantages of the gun. The most obvious advantage was reach. Bullets could travel hundreds of feet--even miles away-- and impact the lives of people and therefore rearrange democracies and dictatorships alike.

However, as the gun's apparent advantages outweighed the need for years and years of practiced use, a failure to comply with a healthy respect for the innovations behind ever increasingly more powerful arsenals. This led to a breakdown of civilization as a whole. Improvements to the lethality of modern arms brought increasingly more violent conflicts that threatened the livelihood of the world as a whole.

The world regressed to a more simpler time. While technology undoubtedly still existed, it progressed heavily in defensive technology in Japan. Personal shielding tech made firearms almost instantly due to the electromagnetic magnetic resonator that repulsed projectiles but also protected the wearer from physical injury as long as he didn't do anything crazy. It would even deflect melee attacks at first. No country outside of Japan had yet reached this peak in technology so it was rather easy for Japan to subdue a larger empire.

Countries sold themselves out to the Japanese as a their failing economy's took their toll against the rising super power. Armies were vanquished with out much effort or losses due in large part to the technological edge as was prevalent through out history. The Chinese Empire, however, had its own plans. The only power that could handle staggering losses, was China.

A long time rival of Japan, it was credited with stealing the prototype suit from Japan and reverse engineering it to create a weapon. What they came up with was a beam based Guan Dao. The way the weapon worked was simple. It is comparable to a European fauchard or glaive and consists of a heavy blade with a spike at the back and sometimes also a notch at the spike's upper base that can catch an opponent's weapon. In addition there are often irregular serrations that lead the back edge of the blade to the spike. The blade is mounted atop a 1.5 m to 1.8 m (5–6 foot) long wooden or metal pole with a pointed metal counter weight used to balance the heavy blade and for striking on the opposite end. The blade is very deeply curved and therefore unlike most polearms, solely useful for sweeping cuts where it relies on range and power.

The blade itself is the singularly most important component. Within the head is placed a small chip. This chip activates a field that causes the outer edge of where normally the actual 'blade' is located to superheat up to nearly 4000 degrees Fahrenheit. Easily enough to cut swaths through the shields that were being produced commonly and in mass numbers. The more advanced shields for captains and generals were, largely, unaffected. However, it was enough to stop the advance of the Japanese enough...for now.

The Chinese and Japanese made the world resort to Feudalism. The countries under their influence were ruled by Royal Families. Beneath them, were provincial princes that ruled over regions under the Royal Family's control. Much the same, the Song Family of China--hailing from the same name of the Song Dynasty that was a ruling dynasty in China between 960 and 1279; it succeeded the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period, and was followed by the Yuan Dynasty--Also had a reigning ruling family, and several vassals.

The Song Family has a princess heir and the Takeda Family had a prince heir. With their family's vying to out do each other, they each had to respect the other as an enemy. But they are both teens, and full of pride for their Families and full of questions about the world and what to do about their family's conquests--if love doesn't stop them first.

Princess of China Jiao Song and Prince Eiji Takeda gradually fall in love during the course of great turmoil, though neither really know who the other is. When War breaks out, the revelation of just where they stand will test their new found romance, but will it be enough?

Classes: Japanese:

Elite unit: Samurai- More will be added later.

The samurai class that existed before developed a code of ethics based solely on perfecting ones technique and serving ones lord. Now called to do the same, many schools have propagated through out lands owned by the Japanese to form these swords man elite. The most elite Samurai are born often from the princes of the surrounding nations to form the fabled Shinsengumi. This special forces group specialize in sword combat and don't wear the heavy armors of their compatriots. However, they were ornate Hakamas, gis, and haoris with their family crest printed upon the backside.

Classes: Chinese:

Elite Unit: The Qiang Pikeman- is a Chinese infantry unit that uses a pike called a qiang. The qiang spear is often called the "King of Weapons" because of its ubiquitous role as one of the longest used and most reliable Chinese weapons, popularized during the Shang Dynasty (seventeenth century-eleventh century BCE) and used up until the end of the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911 CE). In that time, it changed very little.

Rules

1.) No 'godmodding'. I am relatively certain we all know what 'Godmodding' essentially is but there are discrepancies to the extent of which it can or should be taken. Here is is my model for my version of 'Godmodding'.

- Godmodding is where an Gamer plays a character that can survive most challenges it faces unscathed and do so with ease. Godmodding makes other players feel that their characters are helpless which is never good for the mood of the RP. An example of a 'Godmod' would be:

- Kikobi uses his powerful singularity weapon to wipe out an entire swarm of bugs. Where as the following is not a 'Godmod': Kikobi uses his powerful singularity weapon to wipe out an entire swarm of bugs and the backlash from the weapon almost rips Kikobi apart leaving him lying there dying.

2.) No Bunnymodding: 'Bunnymoddding' is where an Gamer controls another Gamer's character without permission. Perhaps a better way of putting it would be an Gamer makes a post in which they make an assumption about how another character would respond. To give an example:

-Bourok and John are both player controlled characters and Bourok's player posts this Bourok raised his glass. "A toast! to freedom!" he called. Tapping it against John's glass as he raised his.

This post assumes John's agreement. Many characters will have motives and back-stories that you may not be aware of. Furthermore players will usually get attached to their characters and tend not to appreciate others making their character's decisions for them. A 'bunnymod' is post that makes a decision for a character that isn't yours. This means vaguely posting that your character bought a drink from a barman who is a player character isn't necessarily a 'bunnymod'.

3.) Meta Gaming: Meta Gaming is where a character acts on the information it's player knows but the character does not. It is bad form and is a form of 'godmodding'.

4.) Respect: This is a simple and obvious rule. Show the other forum goers respect. Be courteous. If someone does something wrong try and be helpful and constructive. Aggression and flaming is nothing but a downward spiral.

5.) OOC Comments: If an RP thread has an OOC thread most OOC comments and questions should be directed to the OOC thread. To identify OOC comments in an RP thread the OOC portion of the post should be enclosed in double brackets (( The OOC comment goes here)).

Also it's polite to post in the OOC thread if your going to be unable to RP for a while. Vanishing without warning while another character is talking to your character can cause them problems as they'll be stuck waiting for your response. So if your taking a break (as in days or weeks) from RP'ing, won't be able to post for a while or are leaving the RP for good (which is a great opportunity for an awesome character death) it's good practice to let the other players know.

On that note, any character that is abandoned and is deemed crucial or needed in some way--for example, a character that was in midst of talking to another that is just left, stranding that other character or any character carrying a significant portion of responsibility to the role play itself. Please don't join if you have "commitment" issues as it frustrates not only myself but other gamers who join in hopes of having fun.

6.) I should not need to say this but--All forum rules are to be respected and obeyed. Sexual oriented content may be a allowed as long as it its within the parameters.

7.)
[b]Character Creation.

Here are my personal limits. (I borrowed some from Nanophreak.)

To me, a weapon can have one normal, obvious function, like a gun shoots bullets or a blade slices through things. In this roleplay, you will have to get through an enemy's P.S or Personal Shield before you can cause damage.

Japanese weapons differ from Chinese based weaponry. While Chinese based weaponry is 'beam' or energy based--Japanese weaponry like the Reforged Katana or Odachi are heavily reliant on the oscillations. Japanese weaponry has a series of segmented blades that revolve at extremely high speeds. This allows them to rip through armor but yet not so easily able to cleave through the shielding the Chinese warriors wear. On the contrary, the energy based weaponry weaponry can get through the P.S the Japanese but the Japanese uniquely modified Samurai armor poses a very discernible obstacle.

If you have more than one weapon, the max should be three, to keep confusion down.

Senses:

No smelling against the wind.
Vision can't be stronger than anything that exists in nature.
If they says it's scentless or tasteless before you smell/taste it, you can't detect it.
No mind reading on anyone farther than fifteen feet away, and even then you should only be able to detect vague intentions, or a single mood.
Predicting the future should only happen in dreams, so you can't predict an attack right before it happens.
If you can hear somebody whisper forty feet away, if they shout your eardrums explode. Normal conversation standing about five feet apart would knock you out. So, you can do it, but you shouldn't.
No being "aware" of all important things happening near you. That's being a god, which only an idiot couldn't tell is 'godmodding'.

Abilities:

Deflecting bullets is okay, because you can't be expecting them to get themselves shot every time. However, only one part of the body or one weapon can deflect bullets. Dodging them is risky, and you have to break it down for each bullet.
Super-strength is a no-go
No running faster than eighty mph.
You can't move your whole body faster than the eye can see.
You need sleep and food. Period.
You can't be invincible, etc etc.

Posting:

Begin the attack in one post, connect in another if its not blocked. In chat, give the person at least seven seconds to dodge or block.

Beijing, China
En route to the Forbidden City
China Beijing Dong Cheng Qu
Eiji Takeda
0400 HRS

Eiji sat there in his plush limousine. It was a stretch. The interior was black, with black leather seats that had seat warmers, came equipped with a mini bar with several different crystal glass styles ranging from brandy to wine neatly tucked away in a compartment. Chilled champagne in a bucket, scotch, whiskey and an assortment of smokes were in the cabinetry made of mahogany. This vehicle was spared no expense.

But none of that interested him. He felt nervous, unsure that he could make an impact on the Emperor Li Song. The liqueur was tempting but he didn't want to dull his wits, it was better that he just tried to remain calm once he got to the palace. His staggering would keep him wide awake and alert and keep him from trouble. But as he stroked the stubble of his chin, he peered out the wide bay windows watching the interstate that they were on wiz right past. Lights of amber glowing beneath the night sky, illuminating the interstate quite exceptionally well.

A another car pulled up adjacent to the right side of the limousine, little was he aware it was full of assassins attempting to get to him. He casually glanced over at the dark tinted windows, before returning his gaze back to the window he was watching out of. Suddenly, the right side door opened, alerting Eiji to the situation immediately. He sat straight up, watching as a man dressed in a dark three piece suit attempt to navigate the treacherous chasm between the two moving vehicles.

"Driver!" He shout in his native best Chinese. But no response came, and it was suddenly obvious, maybe this was a set up. He scooted down as he spotted the man place one arm along the top of the outward extended door. Leaning back, he aimed one foot at the man, before he thrust it forwards and kicked the Chinese agent square in the face making him lose balance and fall forwards. Eiji attempted to shut the door but gun fire from a second agent made him withdraw back into the cabin. In a crouched position, Eiji hurried to the far end of the cabin of the back, to the forward doors. However the agent was able to get into the back into the limo.

Hearing the gun cock, his eyes shifting to behind him. Quickly thinking, Eiji grabbed the bottle jarring it heavily as he did. He did this deliberately. Aiming the bottle at the man he flipped the cork towards him with explosive force. The stopper hit the man in the eye. Immediately engaging the man, Eiji was able to quickly able to scramble towards the man as he cradled his eye. Bringing the bottle overhead he got caught on the low roof. This gave the agent time to recover and kick at Eiji making him collapse backwards. The agent quickly mounted him and struck him once with a fist, busting his lip slightly and causing a trickle of blood to form.

Eiji reached back, gripping the bottle he had lost control and brought it against the man's skull. The hardened glass shattered, leaving a serrated end still in his hand. The agent slumped backwards. Jamming the broken remnants into the mans thigh one hand immediate clamped over the man's mouth while the other grabbed his vocals. Twisting the delicate bones he broke the man's larynx, puncturing his jugular.

Eiji moved back towards the back end of the limo towards the driver's cab. Opening one of the forward side doors he placed one foot on the console. He lowered the window and us it like a stepping ladder and climbed up on the roof of the now speeding vehicle. The sounds off horns blaring, the bright halogen lights of cars illuminated the other wise dark roadways. There were street lamps in the median lanes showering the road with a golden light at intervals. He looked towards the back of the car just as a third agent from a second car directly behind the limo. The second car was also a limo as well, and and the sunroof opened up.

Deciding to take no chances, Eiji rushed the limo behind his own. His legs carrying him over the nearly twenty or so feet across the roof of his own car to the tail. He leapt off, waving his arms to provide lift. He fell hard against the windshield cracking it heavily. Gripping the back of the hood, he looked up into the face of the driver who tried drawing his handgun.
Getting up quickly, he ran up the crushed lass window. A man had climbed out onto the roof as well. The man took a swing at Eiji. Too wide. Eiji just pivoted his left foot back, stood over top the driver and let the attacking man's own momentum--with an added incentive from Eiji, flew forwards head first onto the pavement. The car ran right over top of the man, causing both a fourth agent to fall forwards and Eiji to fall backwards. The agent scurried to get to his gun which was between them. Propping himself up on his hands, he whip-lashed his leg outwards and horizontally kicking the gun out of the hands of the agent as he tried to lift it towards Eiji.

He then pivoted his body sharply, sliding himself into a hand stand before standing up. He slid is right leg in front of him, bent himself lowering himself to the center of gravity. He became equalized, about as equalized as he could be on top of a car going roughly 65. The agent pushed himself up and took a similar stance. He then rushed Eiji, throwing out punches. The punches were blocked by a series of fluid movements, the agents hand become ensnared each time by Eiji's wrists intersecting wrists and delivering simultaneous lightening quick palm strikes to the chin.

The agent began throwing kicks, and again, Eji responded by kicking at the exposed leg not in action while lifting his wrists which he held criss-crossed like and "x". Finally, Eiji's left foot turned side ways parallel with his attacker while his right foot vertically lifted of the roof of the car. The agent caught his right foot, but his left changed direction and he tensed his calf muscle before using a springing motion and back flipping while upper cutting the man's jaw with the ball of his captured foot. Eiji landed backwards onto the hood of the car before he quickly reached out grabbing the back of the hood near the windshield. The man he had kicked bounced of the back of the car and into on coming traffic.

Sliding around a bit, Eiji struggled but quickly gripped the hood with the other hand as well. Looking into the car he could see yet another agent trying to get out to fight him. He could not keep this up. He peered behind himself. A semi was driving down the expressway . He was only just barely out of his reach as he planted both feet to the grill of the car while holding on with one hand and reaching out with the other. The limo suddenly sped up as the driver tried to ram him into the tanker. Letting go, he corkscrew dove for the ladder. Grasping it he slid sharply before regaining a foot hold.

Wrapping an arm around the ladder he gave the men that were after him a two finger salute as his hair now unkempt blew furiously past his face in undulating waves of alternating color. The truck carried him past the gates of the forbidden city where he leapt off once he had gotten to the bottom of the ladder, tucking and rolling to the side. He dusted himself off, his clothing now torn, his lips still bleeding and his hair a mess. They would not believe this...

It was the talk of everyone in the Forbidden City...the Japanese prince who was coming to engage in peace talks with her mother and father. It was decided that it would do her good to be involved in the debating. Of course, her parents wished to show off the wealth of China, dressing in their best robes for the event. Though she'd made the mistake of staying up late..trying to figure out a way to make an impact, yet not seem like she was trying to dominate the conversation. As always..there wasn't a clear solution. It was quite early by her standards, but she wanted to actually catch a glimpse of this prince. Her parents simply didn't feel it was necessary for her to greet him, although the old watch towers would be a great place to actually see what was going on. Dressed in just casual clothing, a summer dress that would be cool even in the scorching heat of summer. Long dark hair pulled back into a simple braid to keep the wind from tangling it too badly.
From her perch, she could see over most of the roads that led into the city. Although as she'd found out...most of the traffic in and out this early was little more than delivery trucks. She knew well enough he would be arriving by limo..not to mention even at this early hour her family had put together quite a show..people to greet him when he arrived as well as a small sampling of culture. Dancing, music..she wasn't sure how much they had planned. Although the main schedule for the day stated it would last only 15 minutes before he would be shown to his rooms so he could rest up for the day. The guards had quite literally ignored her presence for much of the time she was up there..many not even reconizing her for who she was. And of course those that did, well..they just kept their collective mouths shut.
Yet...when the limo finally did pull up, there was utter chaos. Everyone expected the driver to open his door and poof! He would be welcomed, but the driver scurried toward one of the many guards and advisors that were present, whispering feverishly back and forth. Perking up a bit at the oddity, although the hum of voices over the radio were apparent..attacked on highway, possibly killed. Grey eyes were wide with shock, making a scramble for the stairs so she could see what was going on herself. Although it would take a few minutes for her to make the dash full speed, it was worth the extra time to get the details straight from her parents..who would no doubt be expecting her to pop up. Apparently..she had a habit of listening in on things she shouldn't and spying on events she didn't need to even be at.

Eiji Takeda
Forbidden City, Beijing, China
0500 HRS

An hour later, prince Eiji arrived at the gates. He had been walking, making his way to the gate from his drop off point. His katingu held blood stains from his earlier encounter with his assassins. His clothing was disheveled, nevertheless, he simply walked by the guard at the gate. His hand quickly and fluidly fishing through the inside pouch of his kimono, finding his credentials and planted them against the man's chest as he simply continued on past him without the utterance of a word.

He was going to find out the meaning of this attempt on his life. He was anything but coward. If they wanted him, they would have him. It was insulting to try and kill him in such a sloppily executed plan. And guns? Didn't they know he had a grade 3 shield? It was a more portable rendition of his armored suit's. It would not last nearly as long and could in fact break, but not to a semi-automatic low caliber handgun.

The prince continued on, despite the guards pleading, even commanding him at points to halt. His foot steps became more hurried. He was not afraid, but curious. He wanted to meet the Emperor and his betrothed, his daughter as well. He wanted to see his true assailants faces. He wanted to see the look of surprise on their face as he waltzed into main hall. The Hall of Supreme Harmony.

The Forbidden City itself was grandiose. He had to admit the entire walled city itself, was much more impressive than what he was expecting. But where he was headed, was the largest hall located through out the entirety of the compound. Across the spacious square, which covered 30,000 square meters. Standing on a three-tier marble terrace, was the grandest timber framework ever in China. As the heart of the Forbidden City, the so-called Golden Carriage Palace, used to be the place where emperors received high officials and exercised their rule over the nation. Grand ceremonies would be held here when a new emperor ascended the throne. Celebrations also marked emperors' birthdays, wedding ceremonies and other important occasions such as the Winter Solstice, the Chinese New Year and the dispatch of generals into fields of war.

Alongside the flights of steps which ascend the three tiers of the terrace, there were eighteen bronze Dings, a kind of ancient Chinese vessel, representing the eighteen national provinces of those times. On the luxuriously balustraded terrace, stand a bronze crane and a bronze tortoise, symbols of everlasting rule and longevity. The marble Rigui, an ancient sun dial on the eastern side and the Jialiang, an ancient measuring vessel on the western side demonstrate that the emperor was both just and fair. In front of the hall, there are a couple of gilded bronze vats, which were used to hold water in case of fire.

Since the Hall of Supreme Harmony was symbol of the imperial power, it was the highest structure in the empire during the Ming and Qin dynasties. No other building was permitted to be higher any where in the empire. The heavily glazed hall was 35 meters high, 37 meters including the rooftop decoration, it was 63 meters in width and 37 meters in length respectively. There is a total of 72 pillars, in six rows, supporting the roof. The doors and windows are embossed with clouds and dragons.

Eiji defiantly, stepped up to these doors, pressed his hands to them--making the guards panic and try to pull him back to no avail. Eiji forced the grand doors to shift sluggishly, the light from the courtyard pouring behind Eiji. Eiji stepped foot into the grand hall in his sloppily dressed and bloody appearance. The guards remained outside, warily watching the man that had simply come in the throne room with reckless abandon.

Inside of the hall, the floor was paved with special bricks which were fired long and then polished by being soaked in tungoil. As a symbol of imperial power, the sandalwood throne, standing on a two-meter high platform, was located in the center of the hall and surrounded by six thick gold-lacquered pillars decorated with dragons. Dragons are carved all over the golden throne. Around the throne stood two bronze cranes, an elephant-shaped incense burner and tripods in the shape of mythical beasts. The hall was heavily decorated with dragons, giving an aura of solemnity and mystery. In the middle of the ceiling was the design of two dragons playing with pearls. They were made of glass and painted with mercury. The pearl was said to be able to detect a usurper of the imperial power. If anyone who was not the descendant of the Emperor Huang Di usurped the throne, the pearl would drop down and strike him dead.

The entire room was a flurry of activity, people darting here and there with little bits of information. Her mother and father were pouring over one thing or another, her mother standing next to where her father sat. Jiao was lazily tracing the designs on one of the mythical beasts, listening quietly to the discussion taking place. They were trying to figure out first and foremost if the prince had survived, and if he had...trying to locate him. Even as they spoke they had people out searching..quietly of course, no one wanted such distressing news to be known by the general public.
The situation was rather dire, his death meant that Japan would no doubt attack with their full strength and without mercy. Apparently they still had no clue who was to blame in this, although her father seemed to be handling it well enough. She'd of course shown some concern over what this could bring, what it would mean even if he were alive. Even a scratch would have harsh repercussions at this point. Her father had done little more than smile and pat her head, that he had it all figured out and she need not worry. So..while all this was being worked out she found herself a spot on the floor and plopped down, sitting as best she could in the sundress.
The sound of the door drew everyones attention, Jiao springing to her feet almost immediately, that long braid swinging with the sudden movement. Her father seemed quite annoyed at the interruption, glaring at the guards at the door. Of course swords cleared their sheaths..the threat was perfectly clear. Even Jiao had managed to borrow a sword in case something happened. Granted it was much too big to be of any real use, but if all else failed it made a handy club. Most looked between him and the Emperor, waiting for the inevitable. Finally her father spoke, seemingly at ease on his throne. "Is there a reason your bursting down my door at this hour of the morning, or am I just that lucky?"

Eiji looked around fearlessly. Once anxious to meet these people, to impress them even, now adrenaline overpowered that anxiety, empowering him to act as he did. He noticed the man with the larger weapon, before he was consulted by Emperor Li. Eiji tuned to face the Emperor directly. His boldness was definitely something they would not have been used to. He reached into his kimono that was so disorderly. This made guards rush towards him.

Before the guards reached him however, he thrust his hand out towards the Emperor himself. A small device fell to his feet. It was a P.S system. The portable one he had used to keep himself safe. Still, the fervor in the boy's eyes, in Eiji's eyes spoke volumes. What was then declared, only seemed to spark controversy.

"Perhaps it is not you--but I who am fortunate. See, I was on my way here, and I was attacked and forced to defend myself before escaping. Now I do not know how you run this country, but needless to say, your ploy to kill or capture me has been thwarted--clearly. If you wanted me dead, all you had to do is but ask, and we will see which of us dies in much more honorable way than a bullet to the head."

Eiji's words told all in the chambers that he was indeed a very proud warrior. But he only fought when he felt it was truly needed. A test of one's honor, and the true weight of one's words was definitely worth fighting for. If no one believed his words, he peeled back the deep v-shape neckline f his robes and bore the Emperor his breast where his heart was concealed behind blood and bone.

"You want it now? Come and claim it then! I will not be killed in such a demeaning way as to be manhandled by mere flunkies. Give me a worthy opponent, or have you no honor?"

The Emperor looked positively horrified by what Eiji had said..and how boldly he had been addressed. His face reddened in anger, crumpling the paper that had been in his hand. "We were unaware of the attack until it was too late. Hopefully you'll be kind enough to overlook this severe lack of hospitality. Jiao..please show the prince to his rooms and explain this whole mess if possible." Looking to his daughter, who with a quiet bow returned the sword she held to the guard it belonged to. Her footsteps echoed in the quiet room as she approached him, clearly hesitating.
How was she going to smooth this over? Without pulling all of China into a war. "Ouji-sama.." She could only hope that was the correct way to address him, coming to stand a few feet away from him, hands clasped before her in nervousness. Why in the world was she so afraid to even talk to him? Despite the fact that he was quite handsome..she couldn't really explain it. "I personally offer the apologies of all of the Song family, we were incredibly lax in our security on this occasion. I can assure you that your death is not what we want, nor what we aim for. My father is an honest man, he would never stoop to something so low." She kept her voice very quiet, despite the fact that everyone would hear them either way. Bowing low, her braid falling over one shoulder. Sure..that was a rarity, Jiao actually admitting she'd done something wrong! Well..admitting that her father had anyway, same difference. If she had to kiss his feet in order to keep them from declaring war..she would. It would be foolhardy to rush headfirst into a war, no matter who you were. Granted, he might not even know who she was..afterall she looked quite underdressed for being a princess. A very simple yellow sundress..and a pair of worn sandals. She could make an impression later, when things weren't so tense.

"I personally offer the apologies of all of the Song family, we were incredibly lax in our security on this occasion. I can assure you that your death is not what we want, nor what we aim for. My father is an honest man, he would never stoop to something so low."

Eiji turned his focus on the young maiden in waiting. He felt his heart beat slow, relaxing and allowing for some clarity in his thoughts. His eyes glanced around the room. His reaction could either dispel all notion of a beginning to peace between their two countries. What he been hoping for. What he had been working towards. Eiji then stepped towards her, lifting her to an upright standing posture by simply placing his hands on either of her arms and letting her raise with him.

"I apologize for my frankness, I do not mean to throw idle fingers blindly. I was just told that my invitation was a secret to keep dissidents from ruining any chance we have of peace between our two kingdoms."

Eiji spoke in is usually quiet and soft mannered voice. It was a surprising change from just mere moments ago where he had commanded the Emperor, her father, to do battle with him so readily. The voice he used now was that of someone who was quite timid and if not for the display of perhaps bravery, arrogance or a mixture of the two--she would otherwise have a hard time believing him capable of such a thing.

He took a deep breath, and sauntered out before the Emperor once again. Kneeling himself this time, he addressed the Emperor of the nation.

"Emperor, I apologize for my rude and gross misconduct as an emissary. It is violation of my own personal beliefs that violence will only hurt our two countries and I hope that you may be able to overlook my barging in on you and your family unannounced and quite raggedly it seems." Eiji promptly admitted to the Emperor, looking down at his blood stained clothes that he had only proved to be only more disheveled.

She was quite puzzled by his sudden change of attitude, keeping her silence when he stood her back up. Grey eyes watched him carefully..was this a ploy? Or what? She was quick to head back to the edge of the room, where she had been before. Eyes went between the prince and her father..trying to judge if this would actually calm her fathers temper, or if he would take personal insult over the wellfare of his people.
The Emperor seemed to think for a few moments, studying him closely. "I believe, given the circumstances that you behaved as was expected. Of course you assumed we were the ones behind it, because we knew of your quiet arrival. Keeping a secret in a place like this is incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Allow us to make up for this, we'll see that you are tended to and have sufficient rest before we begin these talks of peace."
Of course, there were a couple maids sent for..both with bright smiles. They offered to take him to the rooms that had been prepared for him so that he could rest up before dinner. Asking if his luggage was still in the limo so that they could make sure his clothing was pressed and ready.

"Shì de gǎnxiè nǐ." He stepped forwards, cordially greeting the servants as they approached him. He stepped with them towards Jiao. The way he carried himself was one portion pride, and confidence and the other exuded his natural charm and ability of captivation. Even with his attire torn and bloody, his willingness to come right to the seat of power would exalt the imagination. He was unlike any future or past ruler. He was willing to give who he thought was after him, a fair chance to claim his life. He had the makings of a ruler, though he had to learn a bit more refinement it was definitely there.

The fact that he could fight on his own, was indeed a shock in itself. A person of peace knowing when he needs to fight, but only choosing when that need is forth coming and apparent. This would tell her that he wasn't at all a warlord. He didn't thirst for one battle after the next. His hidden agenda would come as a surprise to her. That he really wanted these talks to go well, that he wanted a peaceful unity between their two countries.

It definitely was not because he was scared of them. He showed everything he was; humble, but stricken to duty and loyalty. He was much in the same way she was. Eiji glanced over at the princess as he stepped past with the two servants. He was being led to his own personal chambers. Others brought him his suit case with his neatly folded clothes, fresh clothes. For now, he would shower and prepare himself properly before greeting the Emperor at the banquet,

He was certainly different than what she was used to..most emissaries were stuck up, rude and more interested in personal gain. Delegations took place in dark smoke-filled rooms where it wasn't unusual for someone to suddenly go missing if they went up against the wrong person. She watched him go, turning to her father shortly after he'd left the room. "He doesn't seem to be a warmonger at least! Thats better than what we expected, isn't it?" Her father gave her a stern look, halting her words in their tracks. She was out of line, again..no surprise there. Her father was quick to say that they should go ready themselves for the banquet..and that she had better be every inch a princess there, no slip-ups would be accepted. Giving a quick bow before racing out of the building, quickly collected by her own maids to begin dressing.
Hours later..she didn't even reconize herself in the mirror anymore. Gone were any sign of her age, dressed in layers of silk and chiffon. Long hair pulled up off her neck, arranged in an intricate updo..one that was more traditional than she might like, but appearance was everything. Her underdress was a bright crimson colour, a more modern halter neckline that showed off her delicate bone structure to an advantage. A flowing chiffon overgown that was pure white, gradually changing to the same red at the bells of the sleeves. Highlighting her waist was a thicker silk belt painted in gold, red ribbons wrapped her torso to keep the overdress in place. Heavy, ornate gold jewelery winked at her ears..her neck and wrists. All in all, she looked every inch like she should..even her make-up was light, giving her skin a flawless appearance.
Her sigh was heavy, fidgeting with her necklace a bit more to make sure it laid correctly. The pleasant jingle of her hair combs was the best part to her..the combs were embedded with rubies and diamonds..and cleverly placed glass beads. One of her maids smiling brightly from the door. "Are you ready to leave my lady? They are bringing your car around now."

Eiji stepped into the sumptuously furnished quarters he had been given for his stay. Fine silks and satins dressed every square inch of the room. From the sheer fabrics that covered the four poster canopy bed made of solid wood. The varnish made the smooth surface of the deep red wood truly stand out. The several pillows stacked upon one another. Thick plumes of perfumed incense sprouted around him. Filling him with invigorating aromas, even attaching the scents of musk and sandalwood to his body.

He placed his suitcase down, he withdrew his ensemble. A deep blue kimono, with a more subdued grey hakama. He stepped into the shower room. From wall to wall was white tiled marble. It was a recent renovation. But was no less impressive. He opened the glass door to the shower and turned the searing water on. Steam flooded the room, a display of how hot he liked it.

After stripping down, he stepped into thee feverish waters. Each droplet scorched and blistered his skin. His flesh reddened to the point it looked like he had been severely burned. But was just superficial. In fact, the intense heat washed away his anxiety, and his evening. He withdrew from the vapors of hot gaseous steam and grabbed a towel. Drying himself off he quickly dressed himself properly. His hair was tied in a neat topknot manner, and was oiled to give it a perfectly clean, neat appearance.

He then stepped out of his quarters, ready for the banquet.

The ride in the limo was short of course, just back to The Hall of Supreme Harmony. It was blissfully quiet, the few minutes before the chaos of a banquet. Granted her father would have only invited a few dozen people, trying to keep things quiet and such. Although there was no doubt that it would be one big way to tell the prince that China was just fine on its own, even if war did break out. Stepping from the limo when the door was opened, climbing the stairs quietly. It was still early, most people had yet to arrive yet. Of course the imperial family had to be in place before everyone else, it was only right. The sound of the classical music warming up brought a smile to her lips, even as she fussed with the skirt of her gown as not to step on it as she headed up the stairs.

Her parents were in route, so for a few moments she was able to look over all the decorations and such to make sure everything was up to par. Playing hostess you might say, while her mother wasn't there. Gladly taking an offered glass of water, sipping on it as she made her rounds. Everything looked good..the food would be served while the guests were seated, and the table would be cleared away afterward for dancing and mingling. All in all, things were looking wonderful.

Imperial Temples
Tokyo Imperial Palace- Tokyo, Japan
Fujihara Yoko

As the sun fell behind the horizon, the Temple grounds seemed vacant. The priest and priestesses were inside, as were the miko who had not gone back to their own homes. A veil of tree branches filtered the fading sunlight as Yoko poked her head outside. The orange beams of light danced on her face, and she looked on either side of her vision, then behind her. She slid the door open just enough to let herself out and closed it behind her as she freed herself from the building.

The brown haired miko turned to face the sunset, causing orange to alight her face once more. Her attention when to the city beyond the palace walls, with its multicolored lights that fought to stand out against nature’s brilliant light show. Soon, those lights would overshadow the light of the stars.

And despite evening’s beauty, both natural and artificial, concern dominated Yoko’s heart. The prince was in China tonight, and relations with the Chinese at this point were not exactly stellar. She feared that the young man’s valiant intentions might be met with malice. She knew it wasn’t her place to be so concerned, but he had been kind to her and others in the past. The very least she could do was pray, then perhaps her restless spirit might be assuaged.

Her sandals trod softly upon the ground as she made her way to the shrine. Yoko slowed upon approach, and stopped before the ceramic bell above the offering box. She tugged on the bell’s tasseled cord just enough to get a sound out of the bell and followed this action with a deep bow and two claps. With that, she gave up a quiet prayer of protection for her country’s prince.

While he awaited for the royal family, Eiji stood across from The Hall of Supreme Harmony. The vast courtyard between the two halls seemed so vast. Much as China itself was. He knew and understood militarily that China had the definite numbers to attack Japan. The prosperity of its numerable people had to be quenched first, however. While a diplomat he always made it mandatory to see how a country interacted with its people, how its people interacted with its leaders. He wasn't a spy, he hated the thought of sneaking. Sneaking was for cowards and cowards died with their treachery.

No, he wasn't a spy or some infiltrating force that stole secret documents. He used the mundane. Every day things to decide how best to either attack or defend. The Chinese were elaborate, sophisticated in their own right. In their first few skirmishes they showed resilience through sheer numbers. But Eiji knew if there was disarray, if they could not muster the numbers needed in the event of an attack then their numbers would either be small or non existent altogether.

He took a bite of fruit from a sampler platter. Biting into to the succulent fruit, he found himself thinking about the princess. Her face was lovely, rounded like the peach in his hand and just as soft appearing. But something threw him off. A vibe, a sensation he couldn't quite place. Se seemed, out of place. Of course this was her home and she was the daughter of Emperor Li Song. But she didn't seem too accustomed to the tradition of subservient women. Her will was strong.

He would wait to discover if his impression of her was correct. For now, he wiped his hands and mouth as the limo pulled in to take him to the real banquet. He decended the steps, his attire more striking as he wore his own royal robes. The outermost garment worn with several formal outfits, most notably of the sokutai worn by civil officials. This sokutai as a style called hoeki no sugata. Military officials below third court rank wear the ketteki no hô; but even military officials of the third rank and above wear the hoeki no hô. The fabric of the hoeki no hô was set by sumptuary law, and one can discern the rank of the wearer by the color of the robe. It was therefore the most formal robe of the kuge class. Over the years, the color that went with the different ranks changed according to reworkings of the sumptuary laws. At first, these colors changed wildly and rapidly, settling down in the early Kamakura period. Like hô in general, there are two varied “weights” of hoeki no hô: for winter, and for summer. The summer garment was typically single layer and often translucent gauze, while the winter one was lined.

His was a brightly gleaming black made of fine silk and satin representing his noble birth.

Everything looked like it was in place, it was simply a waiting game at that point. Finding herself a seat off to the side, out of the way of those still working. Stealing a glimpse at a clock, her sigh was soft as she headed for the front of the hall..to greet her parents of course. She had to be on her best behavior this evening, keeping her mouth shut and ears open. She didn't like the fact that there was a lot on the line with this banquet, every little thing carried so much weight at this point. Insults could carry them into an outright war, or heaven forbid..another attack. Although she was being a bit silly on that last one, security would be tight..especially with her parents attending.
She halfway wondered if she was right about the prince, if he wasn't itching for war like everyone else seemed to think. A war would be costly in both resources and casualties. And she knew full well her father wouldn't be willing to accept defeat, no matter what the costs might be. So this evening would hopefully go a long way to satisfy her fathers pride, and hopefully make the discussions less stressful. Wishful thinking she knew...but it couldn't hurt to wish!

Her parents limo was pulling up just as she stepped outside, setting aside her glass so that she could properly greet her parents. Of course, both were in their finery...probably clothing that had been specially made for this evening alone. Her father was as imposing as ever, his face set with a grimace even as her mother fussed over him. Bowing low to him when he did finally reach the top of the stairs, her voice quiet. "I've checked everything and it appears to be in order Father, hopefully this evening will turn out better than this morning." Granted, as soon as she had spoken she knew that it wasn't the best thing to say, although her father at least offered her a smile and a nod, reminding her that her role would continue to be vital. Heading into the hall as soon as he had spoken, leaving her alone outdoors again.

Eiji paused before the chauffeur who had opened the door to the elongated cabin. He felt reluctant to say the least. But it wasn't a long trip at least. They couldn't possibly drive him out of the capital without much buzzing around about a limo speeding right through the front gates. He calmed and quieted his inner most reflections, put on a smile and nodded to the driver as he slipped inside the comfortable sedan sized car.

The vehicle was thoroughly bullet proof, how he knew was the way it drove. While not slow, it 'felt' different. The windows were heavily tinted, although, that did little really. Everyone in the forbidden city knew who he was, where he was going and why he was going there. As he sat, looking out of his black tinted windows to a world that could not see him back--he felt oddly nostalgic. Where before he wanted war, he thirsted for it, craved it, lived for it--he found no peace until one day everything for him changed.

It was perhaps, the single most important day of his life. He had felt as though he were being praised and he were praising--people like himself who were shielded in obscurity-- by the very black tinted glass he now obscured himself behind. He felt that his principality--indeed his very principles were blinding him to the truth. A warrior ought know what it is he is fighting for, for if his left ignorant of this--how can he serve his lord truthfully and wholeheartedly? The truth was--he could not serve his lord in either of those respects. Two of the most important facets of the Bushido were gone from him.

This is what changed his mind.

Three years ago, when his country, Japan invaded the city of France there was fierce fighting involved. They were still using firearms at the time though the P.S system had already begun manufacturing. It wasn't until later that they truly saw a dynamic effect it had based upon the drop in casualties on the Japanese forces. Blood ran bridal deep, the city was left in utter ruin; landmarks were obliterated silencing the city's pride. The coup d'état of the French forces failed in the end and the city then belonged to the Empire of Japan. But by the end of his tour, he felt riddled with bullets and barbed wire. He felt as dead as those he had slain.

As the car pulled over and the driver stepped out and opened his door--Eiji smiled as he stepped out of the vehicle, waving to the other guests and family members. He then looked up, and saw her again. The princess. She was uneasy as ever in her formal dress, though quite beautiful. He began to make his way up the steps. Wondering with each one, if he could pull this off or would he crash and burn. Confidence wasn't a guaranteed thing all the time--just when it counted.

As he stepped up to the princess, he bowed in his formal attire allowing it to even touch the ground. Erecting himself to a proper posture, he then produced charismatic words.

"You look quite lovely tonight, princess Jiao. Though if you don't mind my saying, my assumption is that you yourself do not feel at ease with the way you are dressed."

Grey eyes watched him closely as he was driven up, a smile crossing over her lips. She wasn't all too surprised to see many eyes look his way, everyone was quite curious about him..about what his visit could spell for China's future. Of course, gossip over this mornings events had spread..everyone in the room knew of the assassination attempt, although they would all most likely feign ignorance if the subject were to come up, in hopes they could get the direct story from the prince himself. It was a game that was often played in circles like this, gossip was something that some of her family lived for. It was no wonder things were so difficult to keep quiet.
Her own bow was given when he finally did make it to the top of the stairs, her smile genuine as she straightened once again. "Thank you very much, you look as if you've recovered well." A hand lifted to cover her mouth, to keep her laughter somewhat quiet perhaps? "I'm not aware of many people who are at ease in formal clothing, perhaps its a reflection of comfort?" Sure, she was much happier when she didn't feel like she was being put on display like a doll..far too many people put too much stock in physical looks alone.

"Thank you very much, you look as if you've recovered well."

"That I have." The prince responded with a jovial candor.

"I'm not aware of many people who are at ease in formal clothing, perhaps its a reflection of comfort?"

The prince would simply laugh, smiling gleefully raising his arms as though to show her example of one at ease wearing more traditional clothing.

"I'm guilty as charged in that respect, that I am. I suppose for some its just that they feel they have to dress a certain way or they won't be taken seriously. But rather your a woman in shorts and a t-shirt, or lovely gown like yours-- you say there's a fire, I'll be inclined to ask how I may help either way. Comfort comes from within. People can wear anything, but if they can't simply accept themselves for what they look like--their skin will crawl regardless of the clothing style they wear."

The prince then allowed one arm the lend itself in a polite mannerism that told Jiao he would follow her as this was her home after all. He stepped into the grand hall he had been earlier, and was overcome. The noises, the bustle of the many faces he had yet to know. Some faces, he had met indeed. The Emperor's proud and exalted bearded face, nodded towards him as he sat on the throne.

The tables were still being readied with pork, beef, rice and other assortments. Jiao's uncle looked skeptical of the prince's wayward feeling and his very 'original' manner of approaching politics. He believed the prince was becoming too close to China's royalty, and the peace that the prince meant to bring would threaten his ideal situation of him assassinating the royalty of China and usurping his brother's throne for that of his own rule. He had his own ambitions that he would keep to himself until the most opportune time.

"Tell me princess, would it be too forwards of me to ask you your name?" Eiji stopped, and handed her a glass of wine and took one himself.

"Well, I suppose I should say present company excluded? Kimonos are comfortable to wear either way, traditional or not." She of course fought the urge to stick her tongue out at him in jest..but heaven forbid someone like her do such a silly thing. "Perhaps I'll take your words to heart then, anything to get over the initial deer in headlights look my parents say I get."
She gladly went into the hall with him, happily waving at the younger family members that were present. It seemed that the children were included as well, at least the older children. She was glad that they had brought the food out, no doubt her father would want to eat soon. "Of course not..my name is Jiao. And yours? Well, the name I could call you. I'm not as familiar with the suffixes of your language as I would like to be." Gladly accepting the glass of wine from him with a smile. "Thank you very much."

"Oh my," Eiji chuckled, at the princess's words. " I certainly haven't seen it myself, though the night is young" His blitheness would seem to rub off on those as he greeted them.

"Of course not..my name is Jiao. And yours? Well, the name I could call you. I'm not as familiar with the suffixes of your language as I would like to be." Gladly accepting the glass of wine from him with a smile. "Thank you very much."

"Nǐ hěn huānyíng gōngzhǔ jiāo (You are very welcome Princess Jiao). I am Eiji Takeda, of the Takeda New Shogunate Regime. You may call me Eiji-san or simply Eiji. I am in your home now, these lands are yours. " He smiled once again, before turning and being greeted by yet another family member. Afterwards, he returned to facing Jiao.

When the deep reverberating gong sounded he then took her hand accordingly; placing her fingers, as rough an calloused as he felt them to be, his own very similar although they seemed 'softer' because of the burns to his hand from holding to many overheated weapons. They had seared away his finger prints and left soft spacious flat pads in their place. He lifted her hand between them and led the princess to her seat like he were a common servant then stepped around the low set table.

Eiji slid his hands down the front of his pleated skirt-like trousers and the n gathered them along the knee as he slowly knelt into place across from the princess, the Emperor was of course at the head of the table and the queen immediately to his left. The rest of the family sat in according to their positions in the empire.

"I've no doubt you'll see a glimpse of it before you leave, Eiji-san." She certainly wasn't used to being the perfect prim and proper princess..hence why she was being invited to the peace talks..it was a way for her to develop more of her public side. Afterall, it had only been a few years since she was introduced into society..her mother had been intent on her having a fufilled childhood. Well, as much as one can when the child has to learn so much in such a short time. "Well..my home or not, that doesn't mean I can't be aware of your own traditions. You are who you are no matter where you are currently at."

Her smile was bright, rather surprised when he took her hand to lead her to the table. At least she didn't show it too terribly much. Her movements were quite graceful, even as she sat down, tucking her own skirts beneath her knees. At least if she made a blunder, the company was for the most part family. They had seen her when she was at her very worst.

A second gong wound sound, and the Emperor would descend from his throne in utter silence. His long flowing ornate robes sumptuous and embellishing. In a similar manner he held Jiao's mother's hand, Mei-Hua. They stepped to the end of the table, and Eiji along with the royal family rose to their feet while the emperor and his wife both sat. Sitting down along with the rest of the family, he was greeted by a server who placed a glass of fresh wine on the table while taking his first away. Eiji humbly thanked him.

The emperor stood, clanking his glass with a piece of of his silverware, hushing the masses of murmurs and whispers. Silencing them as he began his speech.

"It is our honor that we invite into our opulence and grand home country--Eiji Takeda, the prince of Japan." Emperor Li lent his hand towards Eiji who then rose.

"I thank you, my lordship for this kind introduction, It is a pleasure to be here. I am Eiji Takeda and I do represent the Shogunate of the New Japanese Regime. It is my every intention to seek a peaceful solution between our two great nations. It is not luck that I believe in, but the fortitude of our people. Despite the setbacks we may face, I hope we can persevere in the sight of our enemies." Eiji bowed humbly before the royal family and Jiao. Raising his glass before he sat back down.

"Let this banquet begin!" The emperor declared as the servitors brought the dishes full of food to the table.

She was all too happy to see her mother and father at the table..it had been a while since the entire family had gotten together for anything. Typically each person stuck to their own agendas and ate when they could. Of course she saw her parents daily..they wanted to keep a close eye on her studies and such, as was only normal.
Waiting until everyone had finished their speeches and such, a smile crossing her lips as the food was set out. The kitchen had outdone itself..it seemed no expense had been spared whatsoever on this meal. "So..Eiji-san, what do you think of China thus far? It's unfortunate that you couldn't tour Beijing in detail...the city certainly has an attitude all its own." She'd personally only been out sightseeing a couple times..there was more of China she wished to see, but that was often a difficult task when one was a member of the royal family, there was no such thing as playing it by ear. Security needed to be informed of any and all stops, and of course some shop-keepers didn't like it when royalty popped in unannounced. They wanted to be able to give them the best.

"So..Eiji-san, what do you think of China thus far? It's unfortunate that you couldn't tour Beijing in detail...the city certainly has an attitude all its own."

"Well, Jiao-Denka -" He paused in mid sentence smiled and and chuckled softly as he realized he was speaking his own native tongue to a woman who openly admitted she knew very little of his countries honorifics. "Pardon me, we us the tern 'denka' to address non-sovereign royalty, similar to "Royal Highness". But, I have toured your country, regrettably under the banner of an invading force rather than peace. I find it very similar to home. The beautiful trees and forests...its like I am walking in the shrines up in the mountains."

Eiji said, smiling as he took in the scents and smells of the fine more Western but still oriental cuisine. He could smell the chicken hidden in the mess and tangle of noodles and fried rice but also the sweet tarty flavor of the sauce that had been drizzled over the small mound of food. He then gathered not a fork, not a spoon, but his traditional chopsticks and strung some of the doused noodles and carefully lifted them Tasting them he let out a gratifying sound his facial expression doubling its effect.

"That is good." He said with a chuckle as he dabbed his mouth with his handkerchief properly.

Eiji then looked over towards the Emperor, something seemingly catching his eye. One of the servitors, a rather plain appearing man, was mixing something in the tea. As soon as he began to step towards the Emperor himself, Eiji rose slowly--not wanting to draw attention to himself. He then made his way towards the servant.

Just as the servant bowed to the Emperor, and went to pour his tea, Eiji slapped the pot from his hands sending it crashing to the floor and shattering. That expression was back, the one of pure animosity. Jiao--everybody could see- he didn't take too kindly to secretive people. Before the emperor could stand up and demand what was going on, Eiji took another step towards the servant who subsequently stepped back.

"I'm going to ask this only once..." Eiji spoke, His right hand readied one of the chopsticks, his left hand pointing back to the Emperor. "Who do you work for and why are you trying to kill the Emperor?" Eiji questioned, though with his authoritative tone it was more of a demand than an actual question.

Murmurs erupted about the room, panicking the servant and try to run. However, quickly manufacturing a dart by snapping the chopstick at an angle Eiji flung it at the man's leg piercing his thigh and causing him to fall. He then went back to the Emperor.

" My lord, my apologies--" He said taking up the cup that was half poured. He sloshed the liquid in his mouth before stepping over to the injured servant and poured its remains on him. "You tell your master, whoever he is--that he is a coward that can not seem to face his opponents and as long as I am her, the Emperor stays alive." He then swallowed the poisoned tea willingly to show his courage in the face of perhaps certain death.

He then walked back around, letting the guards and Jiao's uncle take the injured man away and the rest of the servants clean up the mess left behind. Sitting back down, he had a frown on his face. That smile he was known for was absent, though everyone was now clapping and cheering him. Even the Emperor, baffled as he was was, was showing sincere gratitude.

Her own laugh was quiet, a shake of the head. "It's fine to address me like that, whatever makes you feel more welcome in our country." Happily sampling the food, most importantly her favorite dish of mushrooms and chicken. She didn't have any problems at all with the chopsticks..even though most had switched to the more Westernized fork and spoon, tradition still ruled supreme among her family. It was important to keep the Chinese culture alive and strong, while still embracing the modern era.
Her smile was bright, a nod of the head given in agreement. "Perhaps while you are here I can take you to see the Imperial Garden. This time of year its beautiful. Winter finally giving way into Spring."
She was a bit puzzled when he rose to his feet, but dismissed it as she lapsed into conversation with another family member. Although the sound of the crashing tea pot startled her, as it did most others. Wide-eyes looking up to the head of the table where the confrontation was taking place. Quickly rising to her feet, her face pale as she listened to what was being punished. Poisoning? Here? Who in the world would want to poison her father? He was a fair ruler, and well-loved by those around him. She wasn't the only one that had risen to their feet..half the table was standing. The knowledge that someone had tried to poison their emperor was astounding...and eye opening.
She of course joined in with the cheering and such, although it seemed half-hearted. Sitting down once again at the table, picking at her food. Apparently deep in thought..and bothered. Two assassination attempts in one day...one on Prince Eiji..and one on her father. Could the same person be behind both of them?

Sorry but this Role Play was un-able to stay alive. I feel sympathy for your plight.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

I'm really sorry. My mom's computer is plagued by a horrible virus and I've been unable to post. I'm only on right now because I'm using my friend's mac.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Oh, come on. Please do not tell me this is dead. I thought I was doing a good job, did my post bore anyone.

I was having fun too, what a waste of potential.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

If you would care to, Statement, that is fine with me.Though you needn't if it was just for a assassin.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Goodday, Everyone.

Seraph, I do not normally do this but considering there are not a great deal of people here should I submit an assasin character?

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

EikouNekoChan. Not that I want to be rude but if we take too long Eji and the Princess will need to interact with a supporting character-one of us-and not each other to avoid repitition, we may not be available due to being in mid conversation.

Is my post lacking an appropriate opportunity for you to enter?

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

^-^ I'm glad you like Yoko, and my post. I look forward to being able to move on with her as a character.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Nonsense. There would be no point in writing her any different. She's Eiji's friend Eikou-dono, not his entourage. I merely selected China first because it would give me a good starting line and amplify Eiji's pacifistic nature along with his willingness to do what was right. In short, I wanted Eiji to make a strong first step and therefore give rise to his own uncle's ambitions as well as place Yoko-dono in the precarious position of a childhood friend.

P.S Your post was very well written by the way.

Well, I'm just entering the RP so we could interact in Japan while they are in China if you would like?

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Good day, Seraph.

I just felt I should inform that I went ahead and submitted the profile with a picture instead of text-I draw the picture, so it entirely accurate of how my character looks. Although it just a quicky, no massive shading or indepth details and perfect posing-and though it was easier for you to decide if you like it as you go along rather than let us both wait for you to approve and then wait for the profile to be submitted.

So...where does the current situation leave Yoko? Had I know the rp would start off in China, I would have written her differently.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

D: Eeeeeh!?! When did we start!? And on a night when I don't have time to write a post...

EDIT: And I posted anyways...Honestly, I probably should have used that time to work on a math project, but I'll be up late anyways due to the coffee I drank, so I figured why not. Hope it's alright. It's an awfully short intro for me...

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Good Day, Seraph.

I am going to submit a profile as Takeda's Uncle like you suggested although I was wondering would it be ok if I used a drawn picture as you have already seen my descriptive and literacy abilities. I figured it would save people reading three paragraghs for a simple design and let me start getting used to drawing my Role Playing Charcters.

Oh, what is the family relationship like by the way. Am I like the step in father because the ruler too busy or am I just the random uncle that seems to appear out of nowhere and drink all the beer out of the fridge?

I got a history idea for my character too if I am allowed some freedom, thinking about making him a founder of a recouperation project that handles the affects of radation and elctro-magnetic negative affects on rural villages that have been victim to the explosion of new war based technology lately.

Thank you for the compliment by the way. Just in case you are confused I am refering to you're Private Message.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

That is for you to decide. Eiji is actual 18. By traditional standards, he is considered a man by the age of at least 13. Small Samurai began practising the basics of fencing with wooden swords at the age of 3, being given a real weapon, a mamorigatana sword for self-defence, between the ages of 5 and 7. A child had to be able to protect itself from surrounding dangers, family enemies, robbers and vagrants, with his father and male relatives providing early combat training. Boys were sent to be raised by relatives or to the home of a fencing instructor, where they were taught military tactics, archery, riding, handling a spear and unarmed combat, jujutsu, i.e. yawara. Attention was also paid to the development of intellectual virtues.

Re: [OOC] Dividing Line: Ima wa jidai ga kawatteiru.

Hey! MY interest is piqued and I have begun to create a character to be Eiji's friend. However, she will not be posted until tomorrow. I do hope you will wait to see her before picking that character, because she's a great character I've used once before (though she went by Hiimisa Yoko, instead of Fujihara Yoko at the time- I changed it to be more traditional).

Also, so I can take it into account as I create her, I was wondering if I could find out how old Eiji is. We don't want a huge age gap, do we?
