Description

Madeline Brayne is 21 years old, standing at roughly 5 foot 9 inches tall with a lithe and fairly well muscled frame though her limbs tend to seem somewhat gangling. She has a fair complexion with a few blemishes of one kind or another and a scar in an inch long line down the left side of her forehead, normally obscured by her long, wavy dirty blonde hair. Her eyes are an electric, excitable ocean blue which seem far off from time to time and she is known for her cheeky, devious grin though she has shown it less since the Earth was stolen in 2008. Noddy, as she has been dubbed by friends, wears short black and dark grey tartan patterned dress with a black belt over blue skinny jeans and black and white converse trainers. She always wears a treble clef necklace and rarely stops moving, finding it hard to sit still or stop from climbing on things. Because of her mother's expansive vocabulary and background Maddy's accent seems to to have a vaguely English sound and it is hard for most others to figure out her nationality due to it.

Personality

Madeline is one of the few human beings in existence whom could be considered more random and clownish than the Doctor, very extroverted at most times. She loves making jokes no matter how inappropriate they are at the time, generally somewhat insulting and sarcastic though her humour is not intended to harm anyone, emotionally or otherwise. Unfortunately she is also not particularly good at reassuring or cheering up people due in part to her humour and is awkward in serious situations. She always has to keep herself busy in one way or another, impulsive and practically unable to refuse a dare no matter how ridiculous. Noddy is obsessed with music in most forms, excluding those she believes are just repetitive noise, and plays copious instruments from guitars to violins, pianos and even the occasional wash board, loving to entertain others with it. She was called that because of her tendency to sing while walking around, similar to the fiction childrens' character. Despite her high intelligence, the woman is very childish and has a burning curiosity about the rest of the universe, how it works and such things. Unknown to most, beneath this frivolous and carefree appearance she suffers greatly, mourning the death of most of her family but is afraid to express these emotions to others.

Having lived in Frankston, Melbourne for most of her life Noddy is desperate to travel to other, strange places and explore perhaps as an escape from her painful memories. She was a wild and strange imagination, bizarre and even scary to some as well as a violent temper if you push the wrong buttons.

Equipment

Noddy knows some martial arts helped by her exercise and generally fitness and also always carries an instrument of some kind with her. She has a backpack of the belongings she chose to bring to Whitechapel with her currently including a small, black megaphone strapped to the side for reasons she may not even know.

History

Madeline was born at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia in 1989 as the youngest of two children, the eldest being her brother named Kees. Her father was a brilliant but unknown electronic engineer and her mother an almost constantly sick graphic artist, unable to work for many years. While they were by no means wealthy they lived relatively well despite their house, in Frankston, being very run down and infested with spiders, bugs and native wildlife. Noddy had always been a strange child, her love for music apparent from an early age and interest in science not much later when her parents found her watching dissections and other documentaries on the discovery channel at age 4. They supported this, allowing her to take lessons first in piano and then other instruments as she entered school.

While Maddy made good number of close friends there she was still bullied for her eccentricities, even more so when she changed to a different primary school better able to help her already impressive mind grow. This led to her becoming more subdued, her strange imagination finding an outlet in drawing and song, the images and sounds confusing others until she explained they were from her dreams, misinterpreting this as 'nightmares'. Once she progressed to High School she went back to her extroverted nature, growing weirder by the minute.

At 17 Noddy graduated and began a university course in biology, hoping the research involved would allow her to see the world when disaster struck. The sky across the entire Earth changed and went black as night. The Daleks stole the Earth and the Braynes along with it, they came and ordered them out of their homes. Her parents went out and ordered the two siblings to run, which they did but not in time to avoid seeing them killed in cold blood by the aliens. During their fleeing they somehow became separated and Maddy hasn't seen Kees since that unnatural night, to her knowledge of her family only her two second cousins and their family survived and so began living with them. Devastated, she dropped out of Biology and instead began a course in music, completing the three year undergraduate course and taking a holiday, her first, in Whitechapel, England.
