Introduction

Keep up with the original story here so you stay in the know about the universe! It's too much to explain every little detail about how a whole new race lives their lives, it's safe to assume they are very intelligent animals with a very basic society that differs among colonies.

The story is that the dragon king Alatus Has been defeated by humans and his colony has dispersed for their own safety, save for the dragons Issan and Cerus who now tend their kings wounds.

The dragons that have left have mostly become wild dragons once more, others have sought out refuge in the two other great colonies, Ice float to the cold north and vaunt to the magma fields of the south. Yet even these places have no safety any more as humans move inland to push the dragons from their land.

One dragon however has been looking for recruits, for a dragon army that hopes to push the humans out of 'their' lands.

Along with this natural disasters have become rampant as of late, urging dragons of all kinds to band together to help their hurt and fallen brethren from the ensuing calamity.

Extensive notes about dragons.

Dragons:

Black dragons:
These are rare and gargantuan dragons with coal black scales, they would easily be as tall as a castle keep and their hard scales prevent them from being harmed in all but magical ways. They are powerhouse of energy but when they become tired they can sleep for days.

They lay their eggs in caves and guard them for a year before they hatch, the hatchings take 20 years to fully mature.

---

Fire dragons:
These fire breathers are from the magma caverns of the north, they are immune to heat on all but minus levels but their red hot scales get burned by non-boiling water which also snuffs out their fire until they can dry off.

These dragons keep their eggs safe inside 'pockets' near magma pools for 9 months, the hatchlings swim through lava as soon as they burn giving them their fierce colours and immunity to the heat, they reach maturity after 15 years.

---

Ice dragons:
These are the poler opposites of their magma cousins, they are easily burned and breath liquid ice which freezes quickly and solidly. Coming from the snow fields of the south they are often very travelled and have more than a story to tell, they also happen to be good at bartering with humans with it not uncommon to see an ice dragon missing a few of their white scales. They eat their food half frozen which feels nicely warm to them.

Their eggs are kept inside ice keeps made by the parents for 9 months, this slowly infuses them with their tolerance to the cold, after they hatch they learn to breath liquid ice so they can keep kills frozen. they reach maturity after 17 years.

---

Wind dragons:
These dragons are specially built to stay high in the sky or their cliff top perches, they are much more sleek than normal dragons and are the smallest of the 'ordinary' dragon kind. They can whip up gusts of wind over 20mph and stay airborne for up to a day without tiring! Their scales are a mix of sky blue with white stripes to help them hide in the clouds.

Their eggs are kept on perches high above the ground for 14 and a half months. The parents bring food 3 times a day for their young in-between shifts of watching and hunting for the family. They reach maturity after only 12 years!

---

Earth dragons:
These brown scaled dragons live in burrows under the ground and tend to their network of tunnels effortlessly, they have no wings since they don't need them and instead have large razor sharp claws that dig away dirt with ease, they tend to be very friendly dragons and have been know to make tunnels for other dragon kinds where the earth permits.

Their eggs are kept in the dark tunnels for 18 months until they hatch, after which they spend most of their 16 year childhood learning to dig with speed. After they mature they dig a tunnel to their own burrow and tend to keep in contact with family.

---

Storm dragons:
These beasts of the sky carry a zap! These dragons stay in more climactic areas of the worlds where storms rage often, they carry a jolt along their horns and are fast runners when grounded by the weather.

They keep eggs inside mountain top crevices, protected from the storms, they hatch after 15 months and hunt independently after 3 months, they reach maturity after 17 years and learn to zap things around that time.

---

Sea dragons:
Monsters of the deep, they live in the waters in caverns with air pockets, they hunt all manor of sea life and are efficient swimmers, they have a strong bite that combats that of large sharks.

They lay eggs in the water, stuck along the edge of their watery homes, these eggs hatch after 12 months and the hatchlings mature after 11 years, by then having learned to hunt efficiently.

---

green, pet and puppy dragons:
These names all apply to the smallest of dragon-kind who have taken a more mammalian route as opposed to their many reptile cousins. They are the 'jack of all trades' type of dragon. they can breath low temperature fire and are tolerant to the cold, they are also fast runners and can hold their breath for up to half a hour and can fly with up to two of their pups clinging to them with ease for a couple of hours.

The most startling thing about them is their scales, visual indicators or their surrounding. they acclimatise after a week with their scales adapting to new environments. despite these talents however they remain in low numbers, being beaten by more specialised dragons.

They often lay eggs in safe, warm and odd locations, these eggs hatch after 10 months and the mothers uniquely begin to feed them milk, creating a strong bond of magical protection by passing on a specialised hormone. To ensure their complete dependence the puppies bodies have a hormone check to make sure they receive enough milk and the mana it carries.

These dragons have very long growth periods of 100 years, 70-75 of which are spent feeding, after this they experience great growth spurts. because of their slow growing they live naturally long life spans with protection against most magic.

---

Your character doesn't have to a proper dragon like name from some work of fiction, no Japanese though (dis-allowed for a reason), make it fantasy if you can.

Dragons can live up to about 12'000-21'000 years depending on size, with the biggest and smallest kinds of dragon near the top, everything else is on an average of 17'000-19'000.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Adventure

Seriously... are you pulling my leg? please use your common sense to noticed characters must be approved thus meaning it depends on the character you submit. I'm a brutally blunt person so stupid questions get dealt with in the quickest (and not always nicest) manner. if you have questions not answered by my notes or by your common sense then feel free to PM me in future.
