Introduction

This is a murder mystery RP!

You will play one of 13 people on this huge houseboat, with a dead engine so you are stranded. You have a solar powered generator, electricity, plumbing, and everything a normal house would provide. Except this one you cant leave. One of the 13 is a serial killer. No one will know who except for me, (the GM) and the murderer. It will not be listed anywhere on the character profile that they are the murderer. So basically, in a sentance. - - - - -Its a mystery you the PO get to try and solve too!- - - - - All the basic RP rules apply, and if you want to do anything rated R or higher take it to PM and get OOC permission. I will personally make sure your character dies first (this is a joke.. sort of) if you do not either PM me the word "krinklestop". If you cant PM post it on the ooc or your character profile.. just somewhere so I know you read this before joining. Only human characters please, anything else and you dont get accepted. This is a realistic rp.

If you want to be the KILLER: Do the following.

1:Make a nice, literate character profile with good description and/or pics. Manga/anime does NOT count. Use the skeleton below.

2:PM me, asking to be the killer and giving a brief explanation why.

3:Wait. I will PM you telling you if you are the killer, with specifics on how to go about killing and etc. Tell NO ONE. (I will also PM those who do not get to be the killer, in case you were wondering.)

Layout

List of the rooms in the houseboat and a brief decription:

Kitchenette: A small kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, full sized freezer, and toaster oven.
Living room: A rather large room, lined with couches. A bookshelf is stacked with lots of different types of books and cds. Another bookshelf is stacked with boardgames and several packs of cards. A folding game table stands off to the corner.
Dining room: Two circular tables, each seating up to seven people.

Sleeping Area: A ladder goes down, you can step off into a hall or continue down to identical hall. They each have three small bedrooms on one side, four on the other of one story. On the other story the seventh bedroom is actually a small bathroom with a tiny shower. All of the bedrooms look identical.
Bedrooms: Each bedroom has a small bed to one side, and a tiny dresser with a mirror above it to the other side.

Its a warm, balmy day. The type of day where you just want to sit outside and do something lazy, like read a book. The houseboat is somewhere in the middle of the atlantic ocean, and the engines have just shut down. They still have electricity and plumbing and all, they just cant move anywhere. All the people are out on the deck, trying to decide what to do now that they are stuck. They are out of range for any device that could call for help.

It was 6 o'clock in the morning. Emily recently found out that from her room, she could easily climb onto the roof and was now sitting there, paintbrush in one hand, a palet in the other and an apple in her mouth. She was trying to paint the sunset while Kila lay next to her, playing with a crooked up sketch. Emily din't really pay attention to her. She didn't pay attention to anything at all, listening to Oi Va Voi on her iPod. Completely gone up in her work (and still half asleep too) she hadn't even noticed that the boat was not in the harbor, where it was supposed to be, but in the middle of the ocean.

Emily took a last bite of the apple and looked at the painting. "Well that looks.. acceptable," she mumbled. She threw the core at Kila, who immidiately attacked it.

At the back of the boat Joshua was laying down on the deck resting his head on the guardrail. Staring up at the sky he let out a sigh. "Why did I even come here?" Once he heard the boat had stalled he didn't care much since he didn't want to be here in the first place. Looking down he saw Emily on top of the boat. Letting out a small laugh wondering if she knew that if the boat suddenly started, chances are she would fall off. Hopefully into the water. Now that that the thought had past he tried desperately to figure out what to do. He almost wanted to just go back to his room and just sleep. But he was already laying down so he just let his eyes shut and felt the cool breeze take his body over. It was great how in such a harsh situation, you could find such peace.

"That'll do for now." Emily put her paintbrushes and paint in her bag and tried to figger out a way to get down. She looked around.
"WOAH! WHERE'D THE DOCK GO?!" She looked around again. Even at the horizon, she couldn't see any land. "What're we gonna do, what're we gonna do!" She let herself fall backwards and lay there in the sun. It was pretty warm for this time of the day. Kila curled up on her stomach.
What now..

Sitting on the chair in his room, Alex was busy writing a new song. He called it "Modern Day Lilith" after an experience with a girl he had had. She had lied to him about being raped for his pity, and being the nice guy he was, he gave it to her. Alex LOVED music. Classic rock especially. Boston was his favorite band ever, with Led Zeppelin a close second. He heard the song Foreplay/Longtime and immediately had fallen in love. The vocals were AMAZING to him. Alex was saddened greatly when he found that the Singer had killed himself in 2007.

When Emily woke up again, it was around noon and she'd gotten hungry. She put the painting (which had dried by now) in her bag and climbed back inside.
She went downstairs and dropped her bag in her room, then went to the kitchen on the other side of the boat. She looked in the fridge, took out some food and started making a sandwich.

Lindsay
I walk out of my room, my silk robe carelessly thrown on and loosely tied over my short, matching night gown, my hair a mess, and still half asleep, even at noon. I immediately walk into the kitchen for some coffee, my feet silent on the softly padded floors. I see Emily getting herself something to eat and walk over towards her, laying my elbows down on the counter, yawning some. "Hey Emily..." I say sleepily. I lay my head on my arms then suddenly straighten up, most of the fog cleared from my brain. "Why aren't we moving anymore? Or does it just seem like were not moving?... Please tell me it's the second." I rub my eyes and walk to the other side of the kitchen and look out one of windows.

I groan and turn away from the windows. "Never mind I answered my own question. We are not moving in the slightest bit. Well besides the little bit of rocking the waters causing the boat to do." I shake my head. "Great. I thought the motors of this thing were supposed to be reliable and not break down. Any idea when well be moving again?" I walk over to the coffee pot and make enough coffee for a most of the people on the boat, whether they wanted it or not.

It was not until noon that he stopped reading.

Alex wasn't the only one in a chair. The resident silent-guy, the one who always kept to himself after a socially inept introduction, had taken the other. And he had read, from the moment the sun had risen, right until noon.

Al closed the book and looked at his arms. The sun had gilded them a fluorescent pink. "Ah drat!" he cried, jumping out of his chair and leaving his latest novel - A Winter's Night on the deckchair. He ran, rather comically, into the shade - or what little there was of it - cast by the large cabin which pocked out from the centre of the deck. Of course he had to get sunburnt if he read in the sun for six hours without any sunscreen. That was why he hated his skin. He glared at Emily as she passed. She'd have perfect skin that tanned rather than fried, now wouldn't she?
Almost as an afterthought, Al followed Emily into the kitchen, more to escape the sun than to eat something.

Albert Ealdwine sat at the small, red-and-white table-clothed table whilst Emily made her sandwich. "What have you been up to?" he tried to start a conversation, then smiled. Of course she wouldn't reply. Nobody would reply to someone such as him.

After a while of stating at the sky he felt his neck beginning to get stiff. Being stuck here was bad enough, he didn't want to cause to much discomfort. He sat up and picked up the marble notebook that was resting next to him. He opened it up to the nearest blank page and wrote down any random thought that floated through his head. Wasn't this trip supposed to be exciting? Why did most of them even come on the boat. It seemed to him they all barely knew each other. It all failed to make sense. Which is why he had his notebook. When things didn't seem logical. He escaped to a place that was. His own mind. But god. How long will they be stuck here. It's so boring.

When Emily turned around to go to the table, she saw Al and Lindsey had entered the kitchen.
"Oh.. Goodmorning." Emily took out her earphone and put them in the pocket of her sweater, where she also kept her iPod.
"What have you been up to?" Al asked her.
"Well.. I've been up since five to paint the sunset, but then I fell asleep again around six. I just woke up. Oh yeah!" Since she'd been asleep, she'd forgotten about the fact that they we're stuck in the middle of the ocean. She got up and poured the coffee Lindsay just made in 2 mugs, then gave one to Al and sat down again.
"We're stuck.." she said.
"Did you notice it too?"

Benjamin was out on the deck, tuning his guitar while leaning against the railings. So the boat has stopped...so what? It wasn't like he was in any rush to get back on land...back to the polluted towns and cities. The truth sunk into him quickly, and he just shrugged.
He was extremely calm as he played out a few chords. Then he sang softly:

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends...

Oh God! How long has he been asleep again? It is actually very unusual for him to sleep late but it does not really interest him in this moment, since he is on vacation. His bag, which he usually takes with him even to the toilet, still is in his room.

..Do I take a shower now, or..?", he asks himself, but doesn't take long, to find the answer. He just decides for the easy way, as he leans over the sink and splashes extra-cold-set water in his face. After that, he washes his hair with the still cold water when he bends a bit more, so his head is under the water-tap.

For this whole procedure, so he thinks, it is useless to close or even to lock the door, so he did not done this actually.

Alex hit a bit of a writer's block with his song, so he practiced another he wrote, titled "heartball"

He sang:

I go round ‘n round
With my own heart
Oh, it brings me down
But I gotta do my part
I know how many people
All depend on me
I have to deal with this evil
When all I wanna do is flee

He smiled brightly as he played, for music always inspired.

Things were getting for to boring. He needed a change in view. He folded his notebook close as he started standing up. When he was fully up his vision started going out on him. The world around him became fuzzy. His skin began to crawl. He already knew he gotten up way to fast. He forgot about the blood that was most likely all in his legs. Now it all starting rushing around his body to get back in place. His body always acted negativity. As he was starting to fade he felt himself dipping over the railing. He managed to reach up and grab one of the smaller bars on the guard rail that sat under the main bar. As he dangled of the edge his vision started coming back. Soon enough he'll be able to get up on his own. But the bar was like a wire slowly digging into his hands. "I hate this place." He spoke with a sigh as he hung over the edge.

"Oh, good-morning," Emily said. Albert stopped and stared at his boat-mate. She was talking to him! There was actually another person on the boat who was talking to him. Certainly, it wasn't particularly friendly, but people didn't usually talk to him! He quickly made a mental note not to waste this opportunity.

"What have you been up to?" Al asked. Emily started to reply, but Albert wasn't listening. They were having a conversation! A real, actual conversation with someone who would respond! No, he would not waste this chance.

"... did you notice it too?" Emily asked. The boy at the table started, and looked at the young woman. He had wasted it. Quickly, he racked his brains for something 'out of place'. Was the sun too high? Were they off-course? Had the weather been strange? Was Alex's singing unusually loud? For a moment, Albert listened to the musician's singing, which wound its way through wood and metal to fit into the small kitchen. It did seem unusually loud, but that was because... the motor!

"The motor? Of course I did. It's been like this all morning, hasn't it? It's a bit of a pity, really, but such a malfunction can't really be anticipated. When will the captain deign to restore the mechanism?" Albert began gushing out words as they came into his mind. He wasn't sure if the motor had been out since the morning. He wasn't even sure if the captain was planning to fix the motor. He was making a fool of himself and, deep down, he knew it.

"I don't know.." If Emily was honest to herself, she knew she didn't really understand what Al was talking about, but she was afraid that if she'd ask him, she'd sound stupid. So she did what she always when she didn't know what to say. She smiled and nodded.
"Still, I wonder how long we can survive in the middle of the ocean." She sipped her coffee. Bitter. Emily poured some sugar and milk in the mug.
"So, what've you been doing this moring?"

"I hope it's soon," I say, downing the rest of my coffee. "I'd rather not be stuck in the middle of the ocean for all of my summer vacation. Besides, not only is there no cell phone service, there's no wi-fi either." I run my hand through my hair and grimace a little. "I'll be back, I'm gonna go take a shower." I get up from the table and go back to my room. I grab a bikini and a pira o jean shorts then go to one of the bathrooms and strip out of my pajamas, making sure I locked the door behind me. I jump in the shower real fast then change into my bikini and slip the shorts on over the bottoms. I towel my hair til it's only damp then scrunch it with some moose. I walk out onto the back deck and look out at the horizon. I sigh quietly then close my eyes and tilt my head to the sun, breathing in the salty air.

As he regained his vision he started to pull himself up. It wasn't to hard once his body started functioning correctly again. He pulled himself up and flopped over the guard rail onto the deck. He then laughed as he was slowly getting up. As he stood he felt a quiet rumble in his stomach. "Food?" He questioned out loud with the knowledge no one was around. He looked down at his left hand. Which was bleeding from the rope cutting into it. "We'll take care of this as well." he spoke aloud once again. Slowing making his way to the kitchen area. There will surely be food and something to wrap his hand in. As he entered the kitchen he looked around and saw some of the others. He barely had said one word to anyone this entire time. His hand trickled with blood. He must have been hanging there longer then he thought. He sighed again as he started to feel the pain of his hand making him wince. "I need to stand up slower." He spoke silently to himself.

Benjamin finished the song and decided to see the others. The boat's motor had stopped hours ago, and nobody was doing anything to fix it. Not that he cared.
As he went back in the boat, the same tense feeling came to him. He hated being inside and not outside where he could see the sky and breathe in fresh air.
"Hey guys," he said as he came into the kitchen. Ben set his guitar against the wall and decided to get himself a cup of coffee. "The boat's stuck. I dunno what the heck the captain's doing but it looks like he's not doing anything to fix it."
As he spoke, a Siberian Husky suddenly trotted into room and jumped on Ben, nearly causing him to fall over and spill the coffee.
Benjamin laughed, regaining his balance. "Hi Sam."

Alex put up his guitar and looked around. Not that many people to talk to. "oh well." he said to himself. He laid back, he needed a tan. Thinking about his past, he stirred in his own thoughts. He tried to think as to WHY she would do that to him, WHY she would lie. He would have understood if she would have just told him, but to go to such measures as to LIE about it......he would probably never know. "but that was so long ago..." he said aloud, with out realizing it. He kept his eyes shut as he laid back. "and I still can't figure it out." and to make things worse, she had gone out with one of his best friends shortly after their relationship had ended. "man, life sure does suck sometimes. Hopefully I'll find a new life in music......" he said aloud again

Emily looked up as Joshua and Benjamin entered the kitchen.
"Good morning." She then noticed Joshua's hand was bleeding.
"Wh-what happenedn to your hand, Joshua? It's bleeding.. but.. I guess you already noticed.. There should be a first aid kit in the top left cupboard."

At least he was finished after some time, but he lets his hair dripping wet and does not mind about that. He walks directly into the kitchen, where he notices some other 'participants'.

Good morning..

The 'morning' gets stretched, because of a yawn. Then Ceszlaw grins. The bloody hand.. someone will take care of it, so he does not have to do that.

How late is it?

Ceszlaw just wants to know, how long he's been asleep now. Just in case, that there is something wrong with him. In the meantime he takes a good look around in the kitchen. He slept long and now he is very hungry.

"Goodmorning, I think it's around 1, but I'm not entirely sure in which timezone we are."
Emily thought about it. She actually didn't know where they were. Her cellphone probably didn't have any connection so that was pretty useless. And there was no internet either, obviously.
The idea of being completely cut off from the world scared her.

"Not really morning," Benjamin corrected. "According to the sun, it's near noon." He took a sip of his coffee and patted his dog, Sammy, on the head. "Yeah, the boat's stuck but it's not time for us to panic yet. Even if we were stuck...per say...for some time, we've got enough food and this boat runs on solar energy. We should be okay. Oh and Joshua..." Ben turned to him. "You better bandage up that hand of yours before it gets bad."
Gah, he needed air.
He finished the coffee and headed up to the back deck, with Sam tailing behind him.
It felt great to be outside again, with the smell of the sea and the wind blowing at his hair. Then he noticed that the place was already occupied. "Oh...Hi Lindsey."

I notice that someone walks out on the deck, but I don't know who it is until he steps up near me. "Hi Lindsay," Benjamin says. I turn and smile at him, I'm in an oddly good mood despite the boat not moving. "Hey Benjamin. It's a nice day out, don't you think?" I tilt my face up towards the sun again. "Too bad there's no wind or anything, that'd make it feel even better." I glance at him and give him another smile. "So why'd you come out here?" I ask, curious.

wow, 1 almost murder and a real murder before dinner, didn't know it'd go that fast o.o

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

So I guess I'm fucked because I only read the rules and down. Oh well, I'll just hole up in my room and stay armed. >.> I'm a persistent little bugger. :D Oh, and KRINKLESTOP (If it's not too late. >.>)

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

Ah I just realized, that I forgot to send the word KRINKLESTOP, but I must say, that I read the whole introduction. If it is too late now.. my fault - whatever.

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

OHH so THAT'S what it meant by saying "krinklestop" xD (I fail)

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

@Ebondruid No, the point of that was to get people to post krinklestop before I started killing people. Its not a joke, for now the killer can only kill those who DID NOT send me the word 'krinklestop' by now. Im not trying to be mean, but I practically TOLD YOU ALL to send me the word. And at Ebondruid again, you already PMd me the word.

@Killer Do not reply to this on the ooc, we dont want anyone knowing who you are. But regarding the whole 'krinklestop' thing, I will send you a PM with a list of the people you can kill. Thanks!

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

There's krinkles in my top? ohnoes :O

BUT anyway, I was wondering if you could add the roof in the locations?
Since it's my characters favourite place.. please? :3

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

Ok so I don't know if you were actually kidding or not, but I'd rathernot die first so I'm gonna do it anyway - KRINKLESTOP
lol xD

Re: [OOC] Dropping like flies.

hm.. sorry if I try to answer the question, but I think, they just wanted to have their characters having some good and some bad traits. my character for example isn't that, what you would call 'attractive' but he just doesn't look like someone in is age.. everybody would think he is in his forties or younger..
