Introduction
It was the miracle cure, no disease that had ever plagued humanity could stand up to it. Discovered in South America, The Seed cured everything from cancers to the common cold. The world came as close to a utopian society as we are ever likely to reach, but this could not last.
Our best guess is that America was the first to try and turn The Seed, mostly because that is where the seeders were first seen. Most likely the military tried to develop some sort of weapon from The Seed. They changed it, corrupted it, and in their foolishness doomed us all. It spread like a plague, a new and deadly plague a thousand times worse than anything the world had ever seen before. Almost everyone who had been saved by The Seed suddenly became sick, their bodies writhing in agony for days before they died. No medicine worked, nothing could relieved the pain, sleep was impossible and so as the body was destroyed by the seed their minds were twisted and corrupted as the victims were driven to insanity. There were far to many for hospitals to try and help all them. So many wandered the streets, rioting, at first they simply destroyed everything they could. Cities burned, small towns were eradicated. Those who had been spared barricaded themselves in their houses, in stores, where ever they could find shelter. Everything happened so quickly that no one could have possibly reacted in time. It was all over within two weeks.
When the riots stopped, people began coming out to witness a new horror. It was as if the victims, the rioters, they had all just dropped where they stood. Piles of the dead were everywhere, the remnants of the government tried to recover, telling survivors to begin digging mass graves. At first it looked as if the world would recover from this tragedy. In less populated areas the graves were finished, filled, and covered. In the days that followed, a new plant was found to be growing from the graves. A black flower that smelled of death growing from the dirt that was covered in a black moss that seemed to appear overnight. People, still trying to recover from the tragedy, hardly noticed, maybe if they had things could have been different. We thought that it was over, we hoped it was over, many of us needed it to be over.
The Seed was not done with us however. It had been taken, corrupted, changed from a gift from God into the Devil's instrument. The came back, all those who had been infected. We never could have predicted this, not that I think that would have changed the outcome at all. They are in control now, we call them Seeders.
Zombie-like, they are slow, incredibly strong, mindless creatures, their bodies warped by the seed. They have long disjointed arms and legs, every face twisted into a horrific visage as terrible as the pain and madness that had consumed the poor soul upon it's death. But to me, the worst part are the eyes, endlessly black pits and despite the fact there is no color, when you look at them, you can see them staring back at you, inviting you to join them in the eternal torment.
If you are reading this then you have survived, somehow. Maybe you knew this already or maybe this is all news to you. either way take this information, I hope you can do more with it than I did. I can only hope that this information will help someone in taking back our world. I've been running and hiding for so long, I don't have the strength to fight them anymore.
Our world ended thirty years ago, I don't know who is reading this or when it will be read, but you must stop them. I hear them coming, that accursed eternal moan that follows them wherever they go. They will take me this time, I won't run anymore. Please, stop them.

[OOC] Ebon Seed
Name: Jacob Sorrow
Age: 22
Appearance: About 6'2 and 190 lbs. He usually wears a combat shirt his plate carrier and black cargo pants tucked into his combat boots. Toned-muscular build, almost lanky appearance due to his lack of bulky muscle. Short black hair growing back from his military cut, the left side of his face is broke with a jagged scare coming from the middle of his eyebrow to his jawline.
Personality: Withdrawn and very introverted, he had been coming out of his shell a lot before the Seeders came but watching so many of his friends die, feeling that pain, caused him to put his walls back up and retreat back into himself.
Bio: Coming from a broken home, with an abusive alcoholic father and a mother that turned a blind eye to everything, Jake spent most of his youth protecting his twin sister from their fathers wrath. When he became sixteen he tried fighting back, and wound up in the hospital with three broken ribs, a cracked skull, a dislocated shoulder, and a gash down the left side of his face. After that his mother finally spoke up and his father was sent to jail. After school Alicia, his sister, went off to college and Jake joined the Army as a medic. He was just returning from his first combat tour when the world went insane. The riots, the deaths, and finally the Seeders. The government fell apart, and Jake and his only surviving friend, Vyse, gathered what they could and left Fort Drum behind, Jake in search of his sister and Vyse looking for his Fiancee.
The story is going to pick up 2 months after the Seeders were first seen, although if you want to tell the story of what happened to your character in the initial outbreak that is perfectly fine. My character and will be following a set story arc however you are more than welcome to take your character through any story you wish. I do ask that if it is going to make big changes to the world as it is, like if you are going to cure everyone or bomb a city or whatever just clear it with me first. Also you can have more than one character, but no more than three major characters. Aside from that, this world is your oyster and you can make of it what you will.
Seeders for right now come as Zombie-like humanoids who are slow but incredibly strong. Like Zombies head shots will drop them or severe head trauma but if you attack them anywhere else, they are incredibly durable.
