Introduction
For centuries, scientists had been telling of an end to all days, an end to our Earth, an end to life itself. We had known of this day of reckoning for ages, and it was finally upon us, though we did not enter into this time unprepared. The greatest minds our species had to offer banded together and saved us.
Three arks were built, each a great space station assembled over many years. They were the Luna, the Sol, and the Terra, each named in honor of the moon and sun and life-giving planet of our origin. Aboard these arks were to be twenty-five pairings of men and women, the most fertile of Earth's inhabitants, for a total of one hundred fifty people. This, of course, was met with outrage by those deemed unworthy to live upon the arks, the last hopes for a continuance of our race.
Riots raged on the planet's surface; wars were fought, be they civil or inclusive. None of this mattered, however, for their lives were forfeit.
On the Appearance of the Asteroid
From the Files of the Great Ark Terra
At precisely 23:33 hours, the asteroid was first visible by Great Ark Terra. At precisely 23:42 hours, the object had passed out of Great Ark Terra's area of visibility. Communications to remain open between Great Arks Sol and Luna. [End transmission]
On the Destruction of Planet Earth
From the Files of the Great Ark Sol
At precisely 23:43 hours, asteroid first visible by Great Ark Sol. At precisely 23:47 hours, planet impacted by asteroid. *static* [End transmission]
On the Moments After the Destruction of Planet Earth
From the Files of the Great Ark Luna
Weeping *static* Sorrow, grief, loss. No hope. *static* [End transmission]
Two years have passed since the destruction of our home. People aboard the Great Arks have continued life as normally as possible, but they know of the dangers that hang over their heads. What are they to do when the food is finished? What are they to do when the water is reduced to the last droplet? What are they to do when their well of hope runs dry?
The only salvation from the fate of their fellow man is to find refuge on another planet capable of life. But is this possible? Is there a haven amongst the stars? Perhaps. We shall see.
Below is the necessary character skeleton. I ask for as much detail as possible, please and thank you!

Rules
The rules are basic:
Post; it is not my will to see this end quickly
Semi-Literacy; 250 words minimum
Details; this is a powerful story of human emotion - please work to capture that
Fictional-Realism; this is not Star Wars or Star Trek, but it does take place in deep space - make it fun, but not over-the-top
No God-Moding or Power-Playing
Cussing should be kept to a minimum; PG-13
Love and relationships are ENCOURAGED, though maintain RPG boundaries
Feel free to bring other rules to my attention that I may not have thought about in my haste to get this idea out of my head. \(^o^)/

Why are there so many stars in the sky? I always lose count of them.

These poor, unfortunate souls were once a part of this great world, but have been abandoned. Why don't you consider viewing their profiles and making a decision on whether or not you can roleplay them accurately?

Re: [OOC] Exodus
Thanks ^_^ and one more question- I noticed you posted a character skeleton, but most everything was included in what I submitted (with the exception of one or two things). If I don't follow the format exactly but still include the necessary information, is that alright?
Re: [OOC] Exodus
Much appreciated! I'm glad it hasn't completely fallen from grace! Still collecting participants!
And please don't be angry, but... "Good [evening], Starshine! The Earth says, 'Hello!'"

Re: [OOC] Exodus
Character relationships really have no limitations placed on them as to how they are to be coordinated; you may plan them out ahead of time, or simply see where the roleplay takes you.
On the subject of... eh hem... intimacy, we most certainly will timeskip them. There is a certain extent you are allowed to take it to(per the site's rules), and they usually draw the line once descriptive adjectives are used. Basically, kiss and touch a bit, but no graphic detail.

Re: [OOC] Exodus
I love this. I submitted a character but will edit when any changes come to the character skeleton.
Anyway, I have a few questions about character relationships. How do those work? Are we going to set those up while OOC and then play them out in the roleplay, or are we just going to let them happen? I don't know what the site's rules are on this, but how far is intimacy allowed to go? In sexual scenes, if any, would we just timeskip to after the characters take care of business?
Thanks.

Re: [OOC] Exodus
There are still some things I'm working on, in regards to the RP. I'm still working on developing a basic character skeleton, an eventual end to the plot, recruiting more players... There's still a lot of preliminary stuff to be done. Should your character be accepted, I will message you when it comes time to start.
Re: [OOC] Exodus
@United: Correct. No outstanding or outlandish traits. Human as can be given the circumstances.
@Thorait: As I stated before, this isn't meant to be a typical Sci-Fi / Action RP. It's supposed to take a look at the human spirit under the most powerful of pressures. Perhaps in the future it could take on more mainstream fictional elements, but in the beginning I would like for it to focus on the situation's effects on the human psyche.

Re: [OOC] Exodus
I have interest in this role play but could I play a not human creature wishing to destroy the arks to claim whats left?
Re: [OOC] Exodus
Sounds interesting to say the least. I'm assuming we're going to be designing characters with no outstanding traits except what a normal person would have, correct? No random radiation enhancements etc?
[OOC] Exodus
This is the auto-generated OOC topic for the roleplay "Exodus"
As it states in the "Rules" section of the first tab, "Exodus" is supposed to be a tale of the human spirit, be it in a time of triumph or downfall. It is designed to deal with the emotional impact the near loss of our species has on those that survived, and the impact of actual survival.
In short, this is not your typical "action" RP, nor is it your typical "romance" RP. It is not your typical "fantasy" RP, nor is it your typical "Sci-Fi" RP.
Exodus is your not-so-typical "human" RP, and of that almost unique quality, I am proud.
Therefore, I ask for people crazy enough to undertake this emotional task and bring to life those lucky enough to survive the end of the world.
