"I'll be fine," Isaac replied, smiling in response. He grabbed Kim's hand, as not to get separated from her, as they walked/limped into the forest. Strange sounds surrounded them, coming from all sides. "Better be careful," he said, gripping his friend's hand tighter. "You never know what might be in here."

Kim who was not used to people touching her found herself enjoying her friends hand. She stared at it awkwardly for another second then started to look around carefully. There was a light ahead and Kim slowed. you could never be too sure if it is a friend or foe. She slowed to try get a glimpse of what was ahead when suddenly the flame moved across the thin path. She stopped not moving except her chest which rose and fell up and down waiting for it to make the first move. It flared up and darted down the path Kim stared. It moved back a little and she swore she saw a hand beckon her forward. Taking a breath she nodded and followed the flame carefully keeping a tight grip on Isaac's hand. The flame lead them to a clearing with a small cave in the side of a hill and soft ground before darting away. She watched it leave and looked around.
" We'll start a fire and then keep following the path tomorrow after we set you leg so that we can cover good ground. If we don't reach the shore tomorrow we will come back here to get ready. And hope that the others find us." she sighed as the sun began to set over the horizon. She gathered some sticks and started a fire in the cave pulling up leaves and setting two beds. One for her and one for Isaac.
" If you get cold just tell me and i'll make the fire bigger." she said and lay on one of the beds making the fire bigger. She rolled over with her face to the fire and closed her eyes.
" Goodnight."

"Good night," Isaac replied as he settled down on the makeshift bed. He laid there for what seemed like hours, listening to the soft whistling of the wind passing through the trees outside. Slowly, but surely, sleep fell on him.

Kim awoke first when day struck on them and she winced at her shoulder. It felt sore because it was the better of the two and the one she slept on and shielded her eyes as the sun came down on them. She yawned and suddenly thought of food as her stomach growled. She moaned and she pulled out her pokeballs releasing Squirtle and Bulbasaur.
" You two find food please. We need to eat and so do you so find berries and fish and bring them back here. Be sure not to get lost and be careful. i don't want either of you taken." she nodded to them and they set out. She winced as she looked at her burns and started the fire again in case they brought back something needed to be cooked.

Isaac yawned as the warm sun slowly woke him up. Despite the bed that Kim had prepared for him, he hadn't slept particularly well. To top it all off, he had an extremely painful crick in his neck. He groaned as he sat up, stretching a bit to loosen his sore muscles. Isaac looked around the cave and saw Kim by the entrance.

" You two find food please. We need to eat and so do you so find berries and fish and bring them back here. Be sure not to get lost and be careful. i don't want either of you taken."

"You sleep well last night?" he asked as he walked over to join her.

Kim swung around and sighed.
" No. I bet you could tell though. I'm getting all jittery, and on top of that i'm hungry. They started to starve me once i spit in the face of that guard." she laughed and Looked back at her fading pokemon.
" I'm guessing you didn't sleep well. Sorry. I'm not to good at making a bed."

"It's OK, there's only so much you can do with leaves," Isaac said. "And I'm sorry to hear about the scientists starving you. They did some pretty inhumane things to all of us. You were lucky they let you keep your pokemon. I still don't know whether mine are still..." he trailed off. He just couldn't bring himself to finish that sentence.

she laughed. " you think they let me keep mine? I haven't seen them in months. The whole reason i wanted to leave then was because i finally got it back." she sighed and rubbed ehr arm.
" Sorry that i made you leave without them." she whispered and looked up. " Maybe the other's got re-captured. That would suck. Now we have no-one to interrogate and people THEY can interrogate." She sighed and looked over at the bushes which rustled softly in the wind.
" We'll get some things to eat soon." she said and sat down scratching a picture into the wall. It looked like the ball of light that lead them here.
" What do you suppose it was?" she asked Isaac.

"I'm not really sure," Isaac said. "I've never seen anything like it before. I've never even heard of a Pokemon that can do such a thing. But, I suppose it's friendly. It helped us find shelter last night, right? I don't think it works for the scientists."

Or maybe we are in a hallogram room back in the center when they captured us last night. she thought frowning but spoke with an upbeat voice.
" Good point. Well hope we can eat soon. I'm literally starving." Just then Baulbasaur came trotting back.
" Kimmy! There was a whole field of the type of plant that they make the poke-food out of. I brought back some and there is about a year supply over in a field. i was real careful to make sure not to be seen either just in case someone was watching." he said dumping the food on the cave floor and Kim stroked him.
" Good. Thank you. And that does make sense. They probably didn't order it so they have to grow it to keep us fed." she said thoughtfully giving some food as squirtle came back.
" Hey. There is some pokemon we can eat in the ocean over there and i can always make you some water so i think we're set. ALRIGHT! poke-food!" he cried and they all fed.

Isaac sat down and began to eat. While he didn't really like the taste of the plant, he had to admit that it was better than the processed pellets the scientists gave them at the lab. Besides, he was too hungry to care anyway. While he ate, Isaac looked around at the surrounding forest. The trees were dense, and the underbrush even denser: they definitely weren't anywhere near Kanto.

"Squirtle," he said, turning to look at the small Pokemon, "When you went to the ocean, were you able to tell if we're on an island or not?"

Squirtle shrugged.
" Maybe. It could be that water surrounds three sides but i can't tell for sure. Should i swim around the island?"
" No. There could be really powerful pokemon in the water. Plus we are probably being hunted down because of the fact that we are the ones who started the riot." she sighed and thought of her Charmader and clenched her teeth. " We will go scout out and see how the pokemon situation is. We have to get your pokemon back too, they can't leave for at least a month with all the equipment they have which is the good news, the bad news is they will beef up security." she sighed and turned to bulbasaure who was eating in the corner.
" Tomorrow do you and Squirtle want to go check out the base situation? I want to figure out what their planning and try and see our chances." they nodded and they all continued to eat. After a while Kim turned to Isaac.
" We should train. They will probably have stronger guards and such." she said and lay down again as night came.

"Training would probably be good, although I'm not sure how well it would go out here," Isaac said, laying down a few feet away from Kim. "It's not like we have any equipment; it's just us out here. I don't want to end up hurting you, even if it's by accident. Well, I guess we can think it over in the morning. Good night."

She glared at him, insulted that he would think that she would get hurt as easily as he thought. Snorting she lay down aswell falling asleep quickly.
