Jack is an older boy of about fifteen, with messy brown hair and a dirty face, but with a definite base handsomeness beneath the omnipresent dirt. In possession of a strong, lithe body from climbing trees and plowing fields, Jack wears an outfit of rags, sown together with cheap yarn. As this isn't very warm, especially in these cold, dreary days, he also wears a traveling cloak, which could do with a few patches for the threadbare spots but otherwise is in rather good condition.
Jack's most prized possession is a beautifully ornate sword and sheath, which hangs from his hip, covered in cloth so as not to attract attention. The gold filigree on the sheath speaks of noble or royal origins, but is not embroidered with a coat of arms or any other recognizable markings. The sword itself has a sturdy gold hilt , with leather for the handle and several small jewels embedded in it. The blade, made of expensive steel, rarely dulls and remains shiny and clean from little use. Jack practices with his sword for about an hour a day, and has become rather well trained as a swordsman.

Jack is a humble boy, but with a definitive sense of purpose around him. He might not know what he's going to do tomorrow, but by the Queen, he'll do it as best he can. He has a capacity for kindness, though he only commits kind acts within reason. If someone cannot be helped by what he can do, or what he can do will overly inconvenience him, he will not bother.
