Christopher sat in his bedroom on a Thursday night browsing through the Craigslist Job postings. He would need something to make some money for the summer and although he didn't really want to get a job, he needed to. He read through the postings, "Part Time Waiter" and "Part Time Dishwasher". He kept reading, "Interns needed." None of these jobs even remotely peaked his interest, the thought of spending an entire summer in a Kitchen was not exciting to him. He continued to read, hoping he'd find something when he read across the Subject line of an ad, "$500 to the boy who can tame my gorgeous daughter!" He laughed a little bit but clicked onto the ad and opened it.

He skimmed over the ad which was a mother, asking for help with her daughter who was out of control with partying, drinking and even some drugs. He figured, "How hard could it be? Get the girl to fall for you and then make her stop. Even if it doesn't work.. I make $50." He replied to the ad and figured it was just someone joking around and he'd never heard back.

He heard back almost instantly from the girls mother. Her name was Jessica and she attached a picture. The girl really was gorgeous. He talked with her mother for an hour or two about her daughters interests and about how he'd get paid etc. They devised a plan that he would go into her work while she was there the following day and hit on her daughter to try and get the process started. That night he went to bed, stoked he would be making an easy $500.

The next morning he woke up and went to school, excited the entire day about meeting Jessica that afternoon. He would go in, order coffee, sweet talk her a little bit and hopefully get her to go out on a date with him. That was phase one. When school ended he got into his car and sped over to the coffee shop. He took one of his books with him so he could do some homework and went inside. He immediately spotted her due to her bright red hair and sexy eyes. There was no going back now.

He walked up to the counter and waited to order a drink. When he got up to the counter he ordered a cappuccino and started to talk her up, asking her about her day. Though she responded it didn't seem like it was going anywhere promising. Before he went to settle into a booth and do some studying he wrote his number down, "I'd love to talk to you more.. why don't you call me sometime?" He offered sliding his number across the counter to her. "I'm Christopher."

Jessica woke up with a splitting headache that party last night was crazy. All she really remebered was doing body shots and making out with some guy. She laughed at the thought of how easy men we're to get if you had the right appearance. She saw the time and groaned she had to work. And she was not happy about that. She got dressed in a pair of black pants and a pink tank top, she put on her neon green DC hightops and did her make-up pink eye shadow, black eye-liner, and of course face powder, and a lip gloss. She headed for the steps but before she went up she grabbed her Vodka and took a sip she shook her head at the taste "Feeling better already." she said.

She went into the kitchen for a quick snack when her mom came in "Oh Jessica good your up, I was a just wondering why you came in six in the morning." her mom said a bit of nervousness and concern in her voice.

Jessica scoffed "Because I went to a party and got wasted." her mother looked stunned but it was soon gone and she left the room. Really? What did she think she was doing all night? Playing with Barbies? Yeah like that'll ever happen again. she grabbed a aspirin and took a sip of water so it would go down. She grabbed her keys and to her beat up Chevy truck.

When she was at work it was boring as usual and she had to put a fake smile on her face. She got done serving a old cranky lady before the old lady left Jessica said under her breath "What crawled up your ass and didn't die?" the old lady spun on her but Jessica ignored her glare. Then a cute boy came and how her days was. What a loser. Who askeds about someones day? she thought to herself. Jessica was taken back when he gave her his number she smiled "Christopher, i'm Jessica and I don't want your number." she said in a kind sarcastic tone while sliding the number back "Sorry." she said before turning around for another order.

Christopher was a little taken aback, he was used to girls swooning over him and gladly taking his number but he bounced back quickly from it. "Well I will leave it either way. I want you to have it." He offered sliding it back across and walking away with his coffee. He walked across the shop and sat in a booth. He very cockily opened his book and sat there, reading. He didn't care if Jessica took his number or not, either way he'd make $50, but now that he'd seen her he did think she was gorgeous. He definitely would mind going out with her a few times.

He caught himself glancing over a time or two to see if she was looking over at him, but each time he wasn't. He started to feel that $500 quickly slip out of his hands and started to feel a little let down, so he took matters into his own hands. He closed his books and walked back up to the counter, "Excuse me, Jessica... I will give you $20 to go out on a date with me." He said leaning over and giving her his best look to convince her into a date. "Just one date.. you make $20." He said.

Jessica wanted to freak at the guy but decided against, she took his number and put it into her pocket I won't be calling this one she thought to herself. When she turned around that cranky old hag was there Jessica gave the lady tight lipped smile "What can I do for you?" she asked.

The old lady looked at her with disapproval "My coffee was cold and didn't have creamer or suger in it." the lady said. But the old lady didn't expect the girl to grab the cup and drink the whole thing dry.

Jessica set the cup down in front of her "Taste fine to me." she said. The old lady was going to reply but that Christopher kid came back ans said "Excuse me, Jessica... I will give you $20 to go out on a date with me." He said leaning over and giving her his best look to convince her into a date. "Just one date.. you make $20." He said. Jessica looked at him he wasn't bad looking, actually he was hot. She sighed "Okay I will on a date with you, but you have to pay." she said and looked back at the old lady who was still standing there Jessica glared at her "Take a pictur it'll last longer." she said. The old lady opened her mouth with disbelief and walked out. Jessica looked back to Christopher "So tell me why do you want to go on a date with me?" she asked.

Christopher was unprepared for her question. Most girls would just be happy that a guy thought she was attractive and wanted to go on a date with her, not this one... Jessica's mother had been right on the nose, she was difficult for sure. He flashed his award winning smile and looked at her, "I just think you're pretty and you seem like you have a nice personality." He said the second part filled with sarcasm in reference to how she reacted to the old woman who'd been there before him.

"Kidding, Kidding. I'm sorry." He said knowing that being sarcastic probably wouldn't get him on her good side. "I just think that you're pretty." He said complimenting her again. "Hopefully we can get to know each other. Give me a call later." He said then headed over to the booth, grabbing his books and walking out of the coffee shop.

He headed home dropping his books into his room then heading back downstairs waiting for his little brothers to get home from school. They ran off the bus and were immediately wrestling over one thing or another . He broke them up as they got to the door and put a movie on for them, putting them into their normal afternoon trance. He waited around hoping that he'd hear from Jessica.

Jessica stared at him when he said she had a nice personality she was glad knowing he was only joking. She was happing knowing he thought she was pretty it actually made her feel good. She was going to reply but he left she smiled at his back and went back to work.

It was about an hour she made it home in one piece. She opened the door to find her mom "Hello Jess how was work?" she asked.
Jessica decided to tell her mom about the day "Well it was good except for the fact that a old hag kept bothering me, it took all my will not shove that cup down her throat. And.... I met a boy named Christopher." she said a little smile spreading across her lips.

Her smiled brightly "Christopher sounds nice. So tell me what do you think of him? Is he nice? Is he cute?" she asked. Jessica smiled "Well I rejected him at first buthe came back. So he said he'd give me $20 if i went on a date with him, so of course I said yes but he had to pay. Then he left." she said. "Oh and I have his number in my pocket." she said taking it out. Her mother was beaming shooed Jessica away.

Jessica was down stairs and grabbed the Vodka taking big gulps, she shook her head and made a face at the taste. She started digging around in her bag and found her cigarettes she took one out and lit it. Inhaling deeply she smiled to herself and took Christophers number out then she grabbed her cell phone and called him....

Christopher held his cell phone for the entire afternoon hoping to hear from her, when his phone began ringing he jumped up and walked into the kitchen away from his little brothers. He wondered if he could really do this, take a girl out for money. He was basically being paid to date...wasn't that semi-illegal.

He looked down and saw a number he didn't recognize, most likely Jessica. He decided he'd better answer before it went to voicemail so he took a deep breath, got himself together, smiled and answered the phone, "Well.. I knew you couldn't resist calling me." He joked, praying it was her and he wasn't going to make an ass of himself.

Jessica was waiting for him to answer when he said "Well.. I knew you couldn't resist calling me." Jessica thought for a moment and decided it was the right time to be evil. She took a deep a breath and said in a manly voice "What the hell?! Who is this?" she started laughing right after "Oh my gosh giggle hi it's Jessica and I oonly called to see when the date was." she said still laughing. She took a drag of her cigarette and a swig of Vodka.

Jessica's mom came down "JessicaI need your dirty clothes." she said.

Jessica rolled her eyes "Later i'm on the phone with Christopher." instantly her mom smiled and nodded heading back up stairs "Anyways whats up chicken face." she said.

Christopher's stomach dropped when he heard a deeper voice, then he heard a giggle and knew it was her. He took a deep breath and said, "You're evil." then laughed himself. He listened to her small conversation she had with her mom and thought he heard a smile in her voice but couldnt be sure.

When she was done he answered, "What about dinner and a movie Jessica.. or whatever you want to do. How about you pick the date?" He asked not sure what she would enjoy and wanting the date to go well.

When he said she was evil smiled "Thank you." She hadn't thought about the date she sighed. Running her hand threw her hair and taking a drag of a cigarette "Umm..... a movie and dinner sound good." she said. "But I want to see a thriller or horror movie, no romance movies that'll make me cry." she said after a moment.

She put Chris on speaker and set her cell phone down getting undressed. She put on a tight black tantop then a tight green shirt over it with a pair of jeans with a whole in the middle. She put on a new pair of socks and a pair of white hello kitty converse. She changer her makeup and put on green eyeshadow instead of pink. When she was done she grabbed her phone and took him of speaker "So when will this date happen?" she asked.

"How about tonight?" He asked as he looked in the mirror. He thought to himself, With a quick shower, I'll be fine. He ran upstairs grabbing some clothes getting them together and waiting for her to agree.

He really hoped she would, something about this challenge was fun and exciting to him. It was the thrill of the chase maybe, or maybe something else, that he really hadn't figured out yet.

Jessica smiled to the phone "That sounds good, so call or text me when your ready." she said. She hung up the phone and ran up the stairs. "Mom! I'm going on a date with Christopher tonight!" before her mom could answer she was heading towards the bathroom. She decided she wanted her hair down but she put a braid in her hair which framed her face perfectly.

She went down to her room and started rummaging for something to wear. She decided on a blue stripped tank top which showed off her curves, then a pair of blue shorts with the neon green shoes. She changed her make up to blue sparkly eye shadow and pink blush. She put on eyeliner but she didn't remeber the name. All she knew was that it made her eyes pop and more of a vivid green color. She smiled took a sip of vodka and had a cigarette and waited for Chris to call.

He smiled knowing that he had gotten his way and hung up with her. He went downstairs just as his mom was getting home, "I have a date tonight! I'll be home by 12." He kissed her cheek and let her deal with his little brothers from there, running back upstairs, excited that this seemed like it may pan out.

He took a quick shower and got out fixing his hair quickly and heading into his bedroom, throwing on some jeans and a long sleeve white thermal shirt, with a military style black jacket looking in the mirror again he sprayed some cologne on quickly and called Jess as he ran out of the house.

He said bye to his little brothers, grabbed his keys and when she answered, told her he just needed her address and he'd be there in 10 minutes. He was almost a little excited.

Jessica jumped when her phone rang "My address? It's 5th street nw and the house number is 456." she said then hung up. She ran up stairs to her mom "He is going to be in 10 minutes." she said.

Her mom smiled "Oh good, I hope you have fun." she said. Jessica sighed and went back down stairs and finished offed the vodka now she had a slight buzz, and it felt great. She smiled to herself and started to dance in a slow circle humming a song to herself.
