The Puppeteer Alchemist
Character Role: Military/Civilian
Full Name: Natalie Fovina
Mandatory picture: (Replaced with description) Natalie is a woman who gives off a powerful, confident presence with a tall, almost imposing height and a ease of movement. Often towering above other women and matching most men, she walks with a air of thoughtfulness, staring at the ground instead of meeting peoples eyes. Her hands are slender, sensual but slightly well worked often showing with small scratches that is a sign of working with small items. Her chest is ample and easily a point of interest.
Her face is that of a romantic and scholar, with light, thoughtful features that can express serious delight or extreme displeasure quite easily. Having a sleek, slightly feline like face with pointed features, she looks as if she is constantly questioning you at every glance at times, making her stares unnerving to say the least. Her eyes are like deep pools of sapphire ocean, surrounding a small island that makes up the pupil. They are glossy in nature, like mirrors, adding to her unnerving stare. Her mouth is small, and the lips pale, clearly having little or no sunlight. Her pale, smooth skin is much the same, showing little or no tanning. Her shoulder hair is deep red, a bit more than what seems natural and probably has been dyed to a personal taste. It gives her a slight otherworldly appearance, which she seems to enjoy, not minding the extra attention when she chooses herself seen. It is well taken care off, but often left to fall as it may, instead of fancy styles.
She wears clothing that is functional and beautiful, choosing a black trench coat for obvious reasons (stains do not show up as easily and as most of her actions are at night.) Though during the day time, when she has to, she wears a white one, which she also uses for special occasions. Both trench coats have hoods for the weather, and are a bit extravagant, shining with bits of lace here and there. Underneath is usually a white blouse and black slacks, a pretty common appearance for a well dressed situation. She sometimes wears her hair in a ribbon or puts a scarf around her throat, whenever the situation demands it. The state alchemist pocket watch is usually kept to her side, either removing it from the coat to go on the slacks or otherwise. A oddity is that she has a monocle that tucks into a the lower pockets much like the watch, acting more like a magnifying glass when looking at small things.
Affiliation: Military, but mostly connections to "old freinds".
Rank: State Alchemist/Civilian (not active in military service)
Aliases/Nicknames "The Puppeteer Alchemist"
Preferred name: Natalie
Age:32
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bi, but leans more towards women.
Personality: A bit vain, but highly philosophical, she is a woman who enjoys learning for the sake of learning. Her personality fits that of a mother, which is what she longed to be. Often filled with morale delima, she was quite active in the States political game, (which removed her from direct military service) until a disagreement over military application caused her to be "promoted" back to Central.
She loves children, especially inquisitive ones, opening up her knowledge to them and paying quite a bit of attention to them, but seeminly does not have the time to become a teacher, as the state recommended she do for them. Never the less, occasionally she takes on pupils to help study for the state exam. It is considered a honor of the highest order if she selects you, as she has produced 3 state alchemists in 2 years, which is quite a achievement considering the drop out rate.
In her deeper, darker moments, she is power hungry, but only in the nature of those who thirst for knowledge. She wishes to know everything, learn everything, in her life. Her sole reason of joining the State Alchemists was to get military information, just to know it.
A lover of fine foods and quiet nights, it is not uncommon she falls asleep next to the fire cuddled next to a book. Perhaps this adds to her loneliness.
Special Abilities/Skills: Natalie is a gifted clock maker, often repairing State pocket watches for mere amusement (which suits the military well). She loves to cook, and is extremely gifted in reading many subjects and remembering them well. Even better, she knows how to apply it.
Type of Alchemy: Life Forging, though in a different, and oddly "Legal" manner. Unlike most Alchemists, Natalie is not looking into how to revive someone from the dead, but instead create new life all-together. This is not impossible, as many alchemists can cause plants to grow ect. Natalie, however, is combining the State's knowledge of implanting a soul into a object, and the work of the infamous "Shau Tucker". She has no idea the extent of the knowledge, however, and has no knowledge of things like the "Philosophers Stone" believing it to be myth.
However, she has succeeded in this frightening practice, able to plant "life" into inanimate objects and matter. Even ones shadow. More frightening yet, she can control this living thing. This is kept top secret, and she is often pressured to produce military results. She finds it ironic, as the infamous "Life Giving" alchemists work and her own are leading down the same path.
Her greatest creation, however, is a small cat-like doll. The first "living animaton", as she calls it. She treasures it like a daughter, and the two have a very human love for each other. She was allowed to keep it, after she threatened to burn her research and then kill herself, part of the reason she is no longer on active military service.
Hobbies: Fine foods, theater, among many things. She often takes the "doll" with her, hiding the small creature in the trench coat to see these events and experience life.
Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions/Disorders/Disabilities: Knowledge hungry, which little or nothing is being done for it other than more research. Sometimes this can cause her to forget things like eating, locking herself away for a week at time. (this was even done when she was supposed to be preparing young alchemists for the state alchemy exam)
Place of Birth: Central
Now lives: Central
Relationship History: Natalie had many many lovers, but hardly any long lasting ones. It seems that her thirst for knowledge goes beyond her commitment to everything else. Few people could handle this and her relationships are often stormy.
Family: Her parents were both high ranking officials in the military, both semi-retired now. Either don't really understand their daughter well and they do not talk. When they died, (her mother first, then her father shortly after) she did not attend the funerals.
The Doll: Oddly, Natalie is FAR closer to this little creature than to anyone or anything else. Perhaps it is a selfish thing, wanting to find out more about it, or perhaps it is purely affection. Most likely, it is a combination of both.
Children: Natalie is infertile, and will never have children. This in her younger days was a harsh blow, but now is a simple fact.
Ideal Partners: While not looking for lovers, Natalie enjoys short relationships, generally without commitment. She enjoys having a lover stay with her, but not expect a lot of her. These moments are actual affection though, which is why the moments in her relationships often turn for the worst, as she honestly wants to be with the person but feels they get in the way.
Other Remarks:
The Doll: A tiny creature of perhaps 2 feet in height, it is actually made of stuffing. Having no speaking capabilities, it directs its needs through physical movement. Often playful and curious of its world, it is a comical creature. Sometimes it does not understand things in its life, and like a small child, reacts to them violently.
One such incident is when Natalie had been with one her lovers in a private way, the doll had tried to make itself more appealing. When this failed, it grew angry, tearing out pages of Natalie's favorite book. This incident tore at the older woman's heart, but also made her realize that this "creature" deserved her love and respect.
The Appearance: A tawny colored house cat... the "doll" was used in the experiment out of sheer necessity. When a young child had left it at the house and did not return, Natalie decided to use it for lack of other matierals. She did not, however, expect it work. Its eyes are a bright green, and it has a very human appearance to it when it moves, acting in much the manner that we do, walking on two legs. However, it sometimes acts like a cat, probably from seeing other cats and feeling the "same" as them. It is intelligent, understanding human language and even able to read and write some.
Natalie in War: When Natalie served in active duty, she was responsible for one of the most frightening massacres known to the State. It is said that one night, the entire towns shadows turned on them, throttling them in their sleep while screaming in torment and fright... No life remaining, only the towns buildings and lamp posts.. one could walk into the city.. and be the only one with a shadow. The town is viewed as haunted, and many travelers avoid it.
