Personality
Amelia is a bit of a loose cannon. Although she tries hard to rein it in, her anger at injustice often gets the better of her. She wants to go into Social work to help witches and wizards who have been marginalized by society, however she realizes that she must get her emotions under control for this to happen. She is the product of two prominent lawyers in Connecticut, one a witch and one a muggle, so she can be a bit serious, preferring her own company to that of others sometimes. She prefers the finer things in life, always having the best or newest things. She also loves to hike and be outdoors.
History
Amelia was born in Connecticut after a completely normal pregnancy to a couple in which the mother was a witch and the father was a muggle. She began showing signs of magic at age five, 2 years earlier than her brother. She is the younger of two. Her older brother completed school 2 years ago. Learning to exist at school without them was difficult at first, but being the resourceful girl that she is, she learned to adjust relatively quickly. Her best friend was and still is her calico Mia, because she is quiet and soft and sits on her lap obediently while she reads. When she was 12, she acquired a large burn on her left shoulder as a result of a heated hex battle with her brother and is very self conscious about it and tries to cover it at every opportunity. When she was a third year, she developed a love of potions that stemmed from a serious crush on a temporary potions instructor. The crush was short-lived, but the love of potions remains. She is also very good at Spell work making her a formidable enemy and a great ally.
On the romantic front, she has little experience. Aside from the crush on the potions instructor, she has had little interest in the opposite sex, or her own for that matter, preferring solitude over the whining chatter that spews from the mouths of girls and the ridiculous displays of “manhood” put on by the males. She has always known that she is callous and cold and wonders if she will ever find love. She worries that she won't.
